We stop in several times while visiting Nelson (my hometown). I always get the broiled chicken rolled-in pita with Greek salad and my husband gets the mushroom deluxe burger. My kiddos tend to get the chicken fingers and fries. We all leave happy. The food is exceptional and the service is phenomenal. The pitas are warm and soft with a little chew and the burgers are made with 100% chuck and grilled to perfection. Their attention to detail is second to none. We love this place! Oh and don't miss their legendary fish and chips, if that's your fancy. Wow! Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

A must stop if you're in Nelson. Awesome food, great beverages, and friendly staff. Must try the mojito smoothy! The fish and chips were some of the best we've had. Not greasy or over beaded; just right and all the fixings including the coleslaw was tasty. The mushrooms on the mushroom cheese burger were to die for. I could have just eaten those on their own. This stop for lunch was memorable and perfect. Thank you Main Street Diner for exceeding all expectations.

Amazing fish & chips, even better than you would get in England! My whole family enjoyed everything from Greek food to grilled ham and cheese, we will be back next time we are in Nelson.

We did some research and drove 4 hours from Montana seeking a superb dinner of fish and chips and this place was way over the top! We ordered the Queen Mary and wow! it was a huge plate full of wonderfulness - perfectly battered and seasoned cod complimented with hand cut seasoned fries. The servers kept our coffee cups filled and the whole atmosphere was clean, fresh, and perfectly pleasant. Highly, highly recommend this place!

Great spot in downtown Nelson! Love that there is outside seating with patio heaters - great for those who are covid conscious and don't want to sit inside. Beautiful setting. The surf and turf burger was so good! Fries were super crunchy and soft on the inside. Our waitress was attentive and offered some pleasant small talk, and was knowledgeable about the menu so could answer all our questions.

Great patio in downtown Nelson and totally worth the stop. Very friendly and warm service - and delicious food. The portions are generous - especially the fish and chips! Dog friendly patio (as long as your furry friend is well behaved). We could tell from the locals who were dining that it’s a local treasure.

This is our family’s second time visiting the Nelson area and both times we ate at Main Street Diner and both times we were blown away by the super friendly service and absolutely amazing food. I highly recommend this diner!! We will be back again for sure :)

A small hole in the wall eatery. It was packed when we went at 4pm, people were lining up to get a table. We got the fish and chips platter and coleslaw. The fish and chips came in a big portion. It was crispy and light, not too greasy either. The fish was a bit on the blander side but add a little tartar sauce and it’s was great. The coleslaw is a must.

We got take out so can’t say much about the atmosphere, but the service was incredible. They made a point of NOT packing the Greek salad in the same bag as the hot food so it wouldn’t get soggy and they didn’t cook the calamari until I got there to pick the food up so it would still be warm and crispy. They were incredibly thoughtful! The food was very tasty and the price very reasonable. I would definitely come back!

Great place for families or date night - there is a kid's menu with many options. Toasted cheese sandwich was only half a sandwich, would be perfect for a smaller/younger appetite. I picked the perfect fish and chips option for myself - Tito's, which is a salad option instead of fries and one massive piece of beer battered cod. Though you can't go wrong with any of the fish and chip options from what I've seen. Also the baklava and fresh baked apple pie were exactly how I like them, flaky pastry and sweet filling. No complaints from my partner on the shrimp pita with coleslaw on the side. "Haffa hangbuger" is funny to say and was okay for my 6 year old. Fresh, ice cold water kept coming with the 30+ heat. Patio is great, right in the heart of Baker Street.

So the inside restaurant could use a little work.... outside looked amazing. (It was raining, so we sat inside.) I will say the food is awesome! 🥂Great menu, great service. A large menu, good selection. Overall, I can see this place being one of my favorite places in Nelson

I just had the clam chowder on this visit. The soup was very good. Nicer bread and a slightly larger portion would have won my 5th star! The service was great and the atmosphere is decent.

Great service, delicious food. This place is crazy understated and we loved it. Prices are fair and meals were great with large portions. I can see why the locals love it, we will be back. Thanks Nick!

Loved it here growing up, for a while it got disappointing, but the newest management has done an incredible job of bringing this place back to one of the most go restaurants in Nelson. The quality of the food has skyrocketed & the customer service is top notch. The menu is huge & nothing is a miss. I recommend coming here a few times to try as many of the menu items as you can!

Excellent food and service! Their tzatziki dip is amazing, and they have the best garlic toast you've ever had. Our steak was done perfectly. Beer was delicious. We'll definitely be back!

This place is great. Greeted, seated and served drinks in no time flat. Food was great. And I would come back again... Were it not for the bananas prices. I get that we all have to survive in the economy of 2022, but seriously... $80 for lunch?!? Nelson isn't THAT cool. Get over yourselves.

We happened to go here at random tonight. We were going through Nelson parked and thought we would walk and see if anything caught or eye. This is a friendly welcoming restaurant. I had no idea by the name what they served. I was so pleasantly surprised, they have a variety of cuisine. We had seafood and Greek and my one child had the pita melt sandwich. Everything was so tasty ( Caesar salad was a bit peppery for my husband) I was especially impressed with the Greek food absolutely delicious. My children were so impressed that the owner came over and was helping, Nick seems like he loves what he does and it shows.

Great food with a wide variety to choose from on the menu including healthy kid-friendly meals and delicious desserts. The business is licensed to serve liquor as well. Friendly waiting staff and professional cooks provide a warm and welcoming dining experience with the choice of either dining indoors or outside in the patio area. Big screen TVs during sports seasons provide the up-to-date viewing of all your favorite games. Definitely check this place out!

Had lunch here today with my husband and two teenaged sons. Husband and I had the fish & chips and they did not disappoint. Crispy and delicious. Batter was light and crispy. Handcut fries were especially awesome with just the right touch of seasoning/salt. Even the coleslaw was fantastic and obviously made in house. My boys both had burgers and thoroughly enjoyed them! Service was friendly. It was about a 25min wait to get a table but it was well worth the wait!

Found this restaurant on thatmap.com. The ambiance and service are the attraction. Definitely must taste the fish and chips, but also the burgers.

My family and I were delighted to eat at Main Street Diner. Though the decor is non-existent, the rosemary, garlic, lamb gravy is worth the visit alone. The fish was crunchy and not at all over greasy. The lamb could have been a bit more tender, but the flavour was there. For me the orzo was slightly overcooked, but everyone else loved it. The cocktails were a nice addition for a good price, and dessert is well worth it. Oh and fantastic service, can't forget that!

We had the loveliest of lunches on Saturday. My daughters and I were doing a little Christmas shopping and landed at the diner for lunch. We were warmly welcomed in, greeted with smiles and helpful people, the service was efficient, fast and so very friendly. The food was spectacular and we enjoyed every moment of our visit. Truly a gem of Nelson!!
