For a food that’s suppose to be very strong flavours , was very flat. Disappointed cause I was hoping for a good Thai spot in town. If you haven’t had thai food much then you’ll probably like it...

Beautiful restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Favourites from my order were the Papaya salad and spring rolls.

I don’t normally review restaurants, but Busaba really stood out to me. Authentic taste and excellent customer service. Please don’t change your chefs, I’m coming back to try the rest of the menu, SO GOOD :)

Boring food. Thai food should be spicy and vibrant. The red curry tasted like coconut milk. The beef basil was bland. I had to ask for red chili 🌶 peppers to give the dish some heat and flavour. If this restaurant had competition it would not last very long.

Exceptional. Absolutely excellent. Tonight we went for the first time since the new ownership took over. I’d like to think I’ve had a lot of good Thai food during my time living in Thailand and the trips I’ve taken there since, but the curry I had tonight at Busaba tonight was possibly the best Thai dish I have had yet. Super friendly team running the place. Great service and absolutely incredible food. Nelson is seriously lucky to have this gem. I’m already thinking of what I’ll try next. Yum!

Ok, I have been to Thailand twice so that doesn’t make me an expert and also we have eaten Thai in most cities we visit. Busba is at the top of our Thai restaurant list. Usually restaurants ask us how much heat we want. My husband likes mild and I like super hot so we try to go mid way. They didn’t ask us here which I realized is great because the food was so flavourful I did not need the extra heat to enjoy!!! We always order Pad Thai but asked for a recommendation which was the Pad See Ew Chicken which was amazing plus the KEOW WAAN Green Curry with the coconut rice. It was all so flavourful!! Seriously this is a must try and it will end up being your go to!! Now we will come to Nelson once a year for the skiing and Busaba!!!

I've wanted to try this place for a while and squeezed in an appetizer and drinks tonight. Cozy place and an interesting decor, with only 10 tables or so. Roti curry and fried chicken skins - the sauces are both amazing, though the chicken skins could have used a bit more sauce. Melt in your mouth, crispy. The roti - a kind of fried flatbread - was flaky and paired well with the flavourful curry sauce. Also some fancy mocktail options on the menu. I went with the lychee lemonade. Sweet and refreshing, with real lychee fruit included. I should have stirred it a bit more because the drink ended with a lot of syrup (not that my sweet tooth minded). I plan to come back for a full date night experience - the entrées eing served around us all looked delicious.

I had the drunken noodle stir fry with prawns and it was really flavourful. The spring rolls were good but kinda small for $9. Overall the food is delicious, cooked hot to order and crave-able.

Love the atmosphere and ambience of this restaurant. We got here during lunch hours and so we ordered their lunch specials. Spent about $18/entree for a lunch special, which i think is a bit high but food is good and portions are okay, although I wish curry portions were a lot more than a tiny bowl because it was delicious! We'll definitely come back if we happen to be in Nelson BC. area next time.

Very expensive compared with other Thai restaurants in BC and Alberta (eg $19 for bland Tom Yum with chicken). The food was edible though not flavourful and nothing like authentic Thai food - the fried rice was gluggy! Not one of Nelson’s good restaurants.

Today we ordered the Roti w/ curry sauce, Tom Yum soup, Yellow curry and green curry lunch specials. The Roti and soup were excellent. We give them a 5/5 but the lunch curry specials were the worst curry we ever had. It was completely void of the coconut cream/milk richness we long for when we order a curry. It was completely watered down and for $20 a meal, we expect a bit of richness and at the very least some coconut flavor. It was bland to say the least.

We popped in for a quick lunch. They have good lunch specials but we opted for our favourites - pad Thai w/prawns, green papaya salad (always a delight to see this on the menu!) and a couple of Thai iced coffees. Fast, friendly service and the food was incredible. We might have to come back before we leave. Highly recommend !

Ok nothing amazing about this place.. doesn't seem authentic and I none of the people working there were thai that I saw. Got pad med mamuang overall not very flavorful and pretty dry. If you think this is good thai food you haven't had real thai food (come to Calgary try thai sa on or thai bistro). Also menu is small and half of it they ran out of. Service was good though otherwise.

Inconsistent: we had friends bring us for our first time on a Saturday. Place was bustling and service was good: food was AMAZING! Outstanding! We were so excited to come back. We couldn't wait and arrived on that same Thursday after work and ordered the exact meals. To our disappointment the food was bland and under seasoned. I had to ask the manager serving us if it was a different cook or recipe and she said yes it was a different cook. Apologized and we paid and moved on. We haven't been back since but have heard inconsistencies in their food recipes are common. Would love to make this our regular date night choice !

The taste was not bad, and the service was great. Just not strong enough as Thai food.

Delicious food, well prepared. Our family always gets a number of dishes that we share amongst us all. Favourites include Pad See Ew and Panaeng Curry. Every single dish we've tried over our several visits has been lovely and unique. The bubble tea is a hit with everyone. Lovely outdoor seating seasonally, and lots of space indoors as well. Great spot, one of the places we take visitors to Nelson to showcase the wonderful food this little town has.

5* experience all around! Superbly nice waitstaff, authentic and delicious Thai food, great decor and ambiance! We had ordered the vegan Phad Thai and Stir Fry Veggies. Good size portions. My recommendation to the owner would be to either reduce the price of the 2 spring rolls to $6 (instead of $9) or offer 3 spring rolls for that price.

Food was decent, the ac was cranked so a bit cold inside, and tables are a bit too small when ordering share dishes. The staff was friendly and attentive, although they never asked if we wanted our food spicy or not it all came out fairly bland our mistake aswell as we didn't mention it but usually they ask. All in all we would go back for certain dishes.

We had a very pleasant meal at Busaba! The small patio was full so we ate inside and were happy we did! The restaurant was exceptionally clean and our server was pleasant and attentive. After sharing the fresh and delicious spring rolls as a starter, both myself and my girlfriend ordered the Pad Thai - hers with shrimp and mine with chicken. Both were very, very good! Large enough that we were both full AND able to have some for lunch at home the next day. Prices are reasonable also. Happy to have found them and will definitely return!.

Came here today for the first time. It is the most authentic Thai food we have found since coming back from Thailand 3yrs ago! We will definitely be back!!

Excellent thai food, which is why I gave the food portion of this rating 5 atars. Had the pad thai noodles, basil chicken and spring rolls. Atmosphere only 3 stars. They are located in a hotel lobby that has featured several more mainstream restaurants previously. They just adopted the old furniture and threw up a few thai inspired pictures. Service was okay. They got very busy shortly after we arrived. Specials were not revealed to us, which is a minor complaint. Lastly, i thought the prices were too high given portion size and prevailing food costs.

Very high quality authentic food. I always loved this restaurant at its old location, but the new location and new owners might have even improved upon an already great place to eat!

I gotta say, Nelson has a lot of really fantastic restaurants but Busaba is next level. Their Tom Yum Goong soup is exceptional, their Pad Thai is one of the best I’ve had in years. The chicken skewers, chicken skin 🤤, and cashew chicken are all superb as well. Fantastic service and truly superb food. Chef’s kiss

Great menu, fewer items than most Thai restaurants and in my opinion that's a good thing. Tried the Steamed Lemongrass Mussels, Fried Chicken Skin, Tom Yum Caesar, and Khao Soi. Everything was great, and the service was friendly.

Busaba used to be such a great restaurant, true authentic Thai food, yummy flavours and a great menu. Recently they have changed their menu up quite a bit and have definitely gone down in the rating of good food in Nelson. I've gone there a couple of times since they've changed things up and was disappointed by not only their service but their food. I had ordered a pad thai and found more than one hair in it. It looked dead and had barely any veggies or flavour. I love the vibe of the restaurant itself, but the food and service needs an improvement.

The green curry with chicken was the best I’ve had, and I’ve had that dish in many restaurants in Vancouver. Apparently the owners/chefs changed about five months ago. So great for Nelson!

The food was great and fresh. However the service was very slow. We had asked for water 3 separate times before having to get up and getting a jug from the counter. When we tried to use the bathroom there was no toilet paper or paper towel. When asking the staff for toilet paper, we were told to ask the hotel as the restaurant shares the bathroom with the hotel above it. When we approached the hotel front desk they said the bathrooms belong to the restaurant. We then went back to the restaurant and explained what happened, the server gave us a roll of paper to take to the bathroom.

Lunch was AMAZING! The portions are large, but that didn't stop us from finishing everything. Super flavourful and the service was excellent.

Late Friday lunch. Restaurant quite crowded, with a mix of locals and tourists. High quality preparation. Excellent flavors in the curry and visual presentation on the plate, especially the accompanying side salad. You can tell the chef/owners care about providing an authentic dining experience. Food on par with the best Thai places in Vancouver, San Francisco and London. Very clean. Attentive service. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
