Disappointed. I travel the province and eat sushi 2-3 times a week. The portions here are very, very minimal, bordering on stingy. Nelson is fortunate to have a plethora of excellent restaurants. The competition is too great to get away with this level of portioning for very long.

Lovely sushi, every single time. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to sushi, and Kurama delivers. Fresh and high grade ingredients, a great miso and tea selection.. no gimmicky rolls or western fare. Love it! Super cozy place, friendly and consistent. The only thing I dislike is their hours - would love to see it open the weekends and past 6:30pm during the week! : )

I absolutely love this place. The restaurant is quite small, and they do a lively takeout business between orders. The food is delicious, and they offer specials and delicacies like chrysanthemum salad. The salmon donburi is my favourite, and the chicken teriyaki bowl is fantastic as well.

This is a great sushi spot. I enjoyed the miso soup, several vegan rolls and Inari. Everything was fresh and delicious. The yam was perfectly cooked and tasty. The atmosphere is chill with nice music, beautiful slab wood tables and graffiti wall art. The owner Taka was pleasant and cordial. I bought some of their homemade Miso and used it in sauces and soups at home. Delicious! I look forward to my next visit!

Fresh fish and rice, quaint intimate setting, quick service. Definitely a favourite spot to dash in and shovel in a small mountain of sushi

Best friggin sushi in the Kootenays. Hands down. Spicy tuna roll is better than most I've had in Vancouver or elsewhere. If you're visiting nelson or live here and haven't tried kurama, make it your next stop!

Best sushi in Nelson! I take this back after my order today. Very expensive and terrible! Kid’s menu stuff thrown in to a container the rolls all loose. No flavour. Donburi bowl disgusting and flavourless. Nope never again! Just awful. New owners I guess cutting corners.
