👍👍 A fantastic experience. Half of town was shut down due to 70cm of snow but these guys were open. We had a table for 2 right by a wood fire. The group beside us had skied and snowboarder down from uphill which is just so fun. We had Raman, I had the pork with spiralized zucchini for noodles. Zucchini... A fantastic experience. Half of town was shut down due to 70cm of snow but these guys were open. We had a table for 2 right by a wood fire. The group beside us had skied and snowboarder down from uphill which is just so fun. We had Raman, I had the pork with spiralized zucchini for noodles. Zucchini isn't a perfect substitute but I though I'd try it instead of rice noodles. My wife had the half pork broth, half yam broth with wheat noodles and it was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. The staff, very friendly and knew the product well. They have a very good drink selection, wonderful cocktails and good beer selection. The bathroom is clean. We enjoyed the music they played. They had good covid protocols. I've only been once but I will go again on future visits to Nelson.

Red Light Ramen was a positive experience. The staff were friendly, the vibes inside were fun and casual, but ultimately the product left me feeling a little underwhelmed. The Tan Tan (pork) broth was my main contention point; it didn't taste like a big enough step up from something that could be created at home.. Seemed like it was missing a bit of the umami-driven healing that an excellent bowl of ramen should deliver. The ajitsuke tamago (egg) was great, and the pork tasted very nice, I just wished there was a little more of it for $17.

The ramen noodles is not so authentic. The noodles used is similar to an instant packed noodles. The taste of the soup is not convincing delicious. More rooms for improvement. In the contrary, Gyoza is good.

After considering multiple options for dinner, we decided to check this spot out. I am so glad we did! We sat at a long table on the covered patio. Our server Sarah was knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed a kale caesar salad, steamed buns with pork, and the tantan chicken ramen. The ramen was unreal, packed with umami flavor and the perfect amount of spice. If I lived in the area, I'd be here once a week. Thank you for having

The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The chicken broth was very bland. I ordered extra squash for $3.25 and it only came with the tiniest piece. The kombucha was amazing! Dessert was vegan, gluten free, and 10/10 delicious. Overall an okay experience but I wouldn't rush to go back.

10/10 service and lovely atmosphere, the server was wonderful. Had the margarita, great! We ordered one of each of the two vegetarian options. Didn’t love them though, very thick and though the presentation was nice. It fell flat on flavour, was more of a purée than ramen broth.

Stopping by in Nelson for a while, checked out Red Light Ramen and loved it! It takes a little longer to get meals than a regular ramen restaurant, but the food was great We ordered a kids chicken Raman, a poke and a TanTan pork ramen, all of which were great. The most popular choice was the poke, which was very impressive. Overall, a quality ramen restaurant. I just wish there was more nonalcoholic choices. (<( ̄︶ ̄)>

We have ‘t had ramen before, so this was a treat for my manga-obsessed daughter. We loved the food - it was so flavourful. Will be visiting again when we’re back in Nelson.

Ordered the tan tan chicken and tan tan pork last night. Not only was it ready quickly but the broth was still super hot when I got it home. The flavors were absolutely fantastic, perfect balance between spice and savory yumminess. Best Ramen I have had in a very long time!! Great job!

I've loved this place for a few years now however this last year it tastes like they changed the broth for my absolute favorite Tan Tan Pork Ramen Bowl. It doesn't quite have the amount of flavor it's had in the past. After the first few sips of broth it just tastes kinda bland. The toppings and noodles are always delicious though!

Ramen is getting better every year. Gyozas also fantastic and I'm a big fan of the smoothies. Price is a bit high but it's a solid meal well worth it.

Nothing hits the spot after a day of snowboarding/skiing like a bowl of this exceptional ramen. Highest quality ingredients and super cozy inside. The drinks are some of the best in town with very unique and delicious flavours. Dog friendly patio is very appreciated especially in the summer for a happy hour ginger margarita!

I always feel healthy and well nourished after having my favorite lunch special😊 Try the 1/2 Pork Tantan Ramen & 1/2 Kale caesar, sub zucchini noodles to make it lighter! Great service, cosy atmosphere

Amazing Gyoza and Ramen!! The pork was so flavourful and it tied perfectly together. I added in a bit of my sauce from the gyoza into my ramen and it added even more amazing flavours. Highly recommend. The waitress we had was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed, checked up on us and asked how it was. She made us virgin margaritas as well!

Damn! Best ramen I've ever had. Had the pork (non spicy) an amazingly flavorful piece of slow cooked pork, semisoft egg and other tings in a subtle yet flavorful broth (not too salty!). Fantastic

Incredible service, epic natural wine list, and we ordered the kale salad (yummy) & DanDan to share (it was 8/10 and delicious!). Then we each grabbed different ramens. I had the chicken with tantán (spelling?) and it was SOOOO GOOD! Exactly what we needed. My partner order the first pork option on the list and enjoyed it. He added chilli oil to spice it up. We will for sure be back. A great meal to warm up the belly on a cold night.

We came here for dinner and sat on the patio. It was quite busy, but they were able to accommodate us. The food was really good, we ordered gyoza and ramen. The ramen could of used a tiny bit more salt (something I almost never say). If I had a negative comment it was that there was a large group of locals at the table behind us and nobody was sitting. They were all standing around mingling and it was super crowded. People kept bumping into me as the walked past to talk to someone else in the group. I totally get small town mentality but this is still a restaurant and people deserve to feel comfortable and safe to eat their food in peace. There was also a DJ playing music, which was a little unnecessary. It was already so loud from the people behind us having a reunion that you couldn't hear the person you came to dine with. I would probably come back, but only under the right conditions. But the food was good.

I only managed to take one photo as I was fully consumed with the vibe, smells and menu at Red Light Ramen. This is such a special ramen spot for all of the right reasons - the sake and broth recipes are outstanding, their outdoor patio is perfect if you have a furry friend joining you, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and looked after. If you’ve never been you’re going to want to treat yourself today.

Stopped in here for some early dinner after I’ve been meaning to check out Red Light Ramen when I visit Nelson. Ordered the chicken tantan, gyoza and dandan noodles. The broth was lacking depth, missing that miso/umami flavour and the ginger in the ramen threw the flavours off. The noodles were unfortunately bland, and the broth didn’t make up for it. Gyoza were good but nothing spectacular, at $15.50 for 6 I expected more flavour. Gyoza wrapper seemed doughy to me. Dandan noodles were very sticky and gooey, and lacked the savoury flavour they were meant to have. Again, nothing spectacular at $17.50. Seems they have a large wine and Japanese whisky menu, but I didnt try any drinks. Service was also just okay, I received the pork tantan when I ordered the chicken tantan. While still edible, it wasn’t what I ordered. I understand their credo is that don’t follow Japanese cuisine in regards to ramen and use local ingredients while being sustainable and I appreciate that. But when the ramen noodles themselves don’t taste much different than a pack of Nissin instant noodles, I feel disappointed. All in all we had an okay experience, not bad but not great. I don’t think I’d return here for another chance to be redeemed unfortunately.

My first experience here or any ramen restaurant for that matter. Let me tell you.. AMAZING!!! The staff was very welcoming and the food was amazing. It seemed like there were 2 servers working and it was quite busy when we went and they did an amazing job! No one was left waiting or anything. Amazing team effort and very relaxing environment. I felt very at home and was very satisfied with everything. Prices were reasonable and portions were very generous!! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you thank you thank you!! -Lauren and Rayelin from Fernie BC.

Had a lovely bowl of noodles with delicious pork belly and a nice dry apple cider. Our nephew had his favorite, noodles with butter and nutritional yeast! The food is great and the place is chill.
