This restaurant is hitting on all cylinders. Cozy and beautiful atmosphere, excellent food and service, and we came on a Sunday night when they have Nico, the jazz guitar player. His virtuosic gentle jazz stylings set the perfect mood. On weekends they have the prime rib special. Don't miss it especially for the Yorkshire pudding!

I'm not sure how I would improve the Hume Library, so I give 5 stars. Staff are very pleasant, food is consistently delicious, menu is varied in price and meal options. Plus, the decor is warm and inviting. and that ceiling!

Beautiful inside atmosphere inside Hume Hotel. Gorgeous vintage and antique furnishings. Vegan and vegetarian options clearly labelled on menu! The vegan bowl was so delicious! My friend ordered a vegetarian mushroom ravioli. Highly recommended - right off main Baker St in Nelson.

Went there for brunch, the place was empty which got us wondering why. Anyway, we stayed and ate, ended up leaving hungry. The food is good but the portions are tiny for what you spend, not great value.

Amazing decor with a very relaxed atmosphere. Live music was very charming. A definite must visit in Nelson.

This place is a reserved but delightful bar in the Hume hotel that delivers in several categories. The service is decent with nice, friendly staff but where the place shined for us was in the cocktails, food, and ambience (have an Old Fashioned and thank me later). The food was very well done with both of us having a pasta dish and the generous portions were a treat. Last, the mood was set each night (I went back for more Old Fashioneds) by wonderful musicians who were very talented and also masterful enough to play to a room that size with just the right approach.

I love this cozy restaurant. The servers are always pleasant and the food always delicious. Keep in mind that, if you're driving, you may need to drive around to try & find street parking.

I like this spot with a short of antique posh feel. Menu is solid, always a great quiche. Service is consistently above par.

We had our 38th anniversary here last nite. Steak salad veggies and berry crumble for me, creme Brule for my wife everything was great including the decor. A wonderfully place to go for a great meal!

The good: Ambiance was great, live music was nice, the building and history is beautiful. They have a nice drink selection and the raspberry mojito was very refreshing. The creme brulee was incredible! Come here for a drink and a dessert. The not so great: The food was sub-par. We tried two different burgers, one beef and one chicken, and the poutine. They were lacking flavour. Idk man could have used some salt and pepper at least.

Easily the best prime rib in all of Nelson (on Friday-Sunday). Came perfectly cooked with a comically large Yorkshire pudding on top, a mount of gravy, horseradish, mashed potatoes, and broccolini. Delightful waitstaff and energetic atmosphere made for a perfect experience.

We had high expectations I guess given the decor and other reviews. Decor of old well maintained. Service was good. However the food fell short for us both. For a Sunday we decided to go traditional and ordered the Prime Rib dinner, it was not enjoyable, prime rib was not tender, very chewy in parts, yorkshire pudding thick and not cooked through, accompanied vegetables were ok. For the price we paid not happy unfortunately. On that we would not recommend.

Super amazing wait staff, fish and chips never disappoint, great ambiance in a library type lounge located in the beautiful and historic Hume Hotel, onion soup delicious on the sweeter side, next time will try the chicken, brie and fig burger, sounds delicious. Reserve a window seat for entertaining view of local pedestrians and traffic. Some cool old cars go by in the warmer months. Great location for walking and enjoying Nelson's history.

Really cool spot for drinks! It’s small/intimate and the atmosphere is great. We didn’t stay for dinner but it was pretty busy and booked up. If any sort of special menu or event is going on there I would reserve just to be safe. The gin/lychee drink was my personal favourite.

Excellent meal for a great price. Had the lamb and steak, it was certainly in the top ten of meals I've had. Great wine list with a good range of wines. Lovely atmosphere in a historic hotel. Friendly staff and very efficient.

Very nicely restored historic hotel with a great dining room. The food was delicious and the service had an appropriate level of attention.

It was unfortunate that my family and I chose to eat here this morning. The burger buns were soggy and not brioche as they were supposed to be. The toppings were, well I don't know what they were, only what they were supposed to be. The avocado smash was clearly prepared long before being thinly spread on the unflavored and dry sourdough, and the steak was charred and overcooked. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is that it's not the worst thing I've ever eaten.

Cool spot, comfy booths, and quick service. Stopped in for some dessert and a night cap before bed and my friends and I were pleasantly surprised by the chill vibe. Very enjoyable.

Cutest little old heritage hotel bar I've been to in many years. Great service, lots of history, unique (try the Okonomiyaki 'Tokyo' fries) and delicious (when was the last time you felt you got enough black olives and feta on your Greek salad?) food - even live guitar. In my humble opinion Anthony Bourdain would have appreciated this place very much (and Nelson as well for that matter). I will absolutely come here whenever I'm in the area, love love loved it!

🫤 I gave this a 2 instead of 5 for dinner only because we were told that we had to vacate our table after having dinner and drinks as the table was reserved for another group. This was only after being seated for 90 minutes. A 90 minute turnover is unreasonable...if the table had a limited sitting t...

👍👍 Amazing service, super accommodating chefs and delicious food!
