One of the best experience I've ever had at an ice cream shop. I had the orange creamsicle flavored ice cream. It was definitely some of the best ice cream around town. The owners and workers were very kind and helpful and the establishment was decorated in a very creative and fun way. I would definitely check it out if you haven't already.

Some of the best hotdogs and milkshakes ever! Their milkshakes are very decent size (two big scoops) so make sure you are not too full! Great staff and awesome patio to enjoy the weather. Lots of free parking in the residential area behind at the top of the hill.

This ice cream is delicious (no wonder you can get it in stores in the region!) and made with a coconut base so suits vegans/plant based diets as well. They also have hot drinks like coffee and smoothies. The owners were very friendly and let us sample ice cream flavours to help us choose. Calm, lovely atmosphere with plants and small seating area. Go and enjoy!

The best waffles ever! All GF and vegan (and I do not need to eat either! just overall, amazing waffles). the ice cream was delicious, and the flavour choices are out of this world, but to really top off the experience, the owner was so kind! We had amazing customer service. all around 10/10, would (and have already) recommend to everyone!! :)

Celestial Scoop is a supernova of a cafe with a great ambience.  Where else  in a small town can you have a gluten free waffle made to order and topped with vegan ice cream also made in house.  An assortment of space themed flavours, fruits and other toppings are available. Our favourites include the maple meteorite and chocolate dark matter…but I hear mango lassi may be coming.  Go check it out, your tastebuds and friends will thank you. It's truly out of this world!

Best ice cream in the Kootenays!! For all vegans, this is an absolute must. The team is awesome and the ice cream is delicious!! Highly recommend the tasty toasted coconut🍦 You can stay cool and sit inside, or enjoy the sun on the patio - both are adorable. We love these local beauties! 🇨🇦Local tip - there’s almost always parking on the street near the Oso so it’s a sweet stop before or after shopping and/or the beach ☀️Definitely recommend this special spot to all ice cream lovers!!

Good place to go for a quick bite or an ice cream. The food is good tasting but rather on the expensive side at $15 for a gourmet wiener. It is all locally sourced so that contributes to the price. I would recommend trying it for yourself, I will be going back from time to time.

This place is incredibly inviting with a beautiful & warm hearted staff. They offer undeniably delicious vegan ice-cream (+cones) which have never disappointed. I've been here a few times and it is great! The staff and owner are very friendly -- the hot dogs are delicious and made with care. My favourite is the ice cream!! WOW -- I got the strawberry cheesecake flavour and it might honestly be the best ice cream flavour I've tried. Not too sweet, great quality ingredients. Best ice cream in town.

Some of the most delightful ice cream I've ever tasted!!! Ash and Maddie were so affable and their service was incredible. Double Cookies n' Cream tasted extraordinary not to forget about their stunning display and decoration. Definitely a hidden gem in Nelson. I will for sure be coming back again to try their other mouth watering flavours 💗💗💗

Big Dee’s was an outstanding addition to Nelson, fits spectacularly with the vibes in Nelson, while also adding their own memorable features with the stunning decoration and customer service. I really felt like I was in candy land! I ordered simple vanilla ice cream and was very impressed with the delectable taste, way better than any bigger brand you could buy from. Plus a huge selection of yummy treats to choose from.

Big Dees was a great experience and the atmosphere was incredible! They had pipes up in the ceiling and they coloured it and put up signs saying orange creamsicle or chocolate chip and condiments like ketchup and mustard too. Great experience they had macaroons, ice cream and hot dogs, great snacks and a very tasty looking menu. The staff were inviting and very mellow and polite. This ice cream shop was astonishing 10/10 would recommend!

Out of this world vegan ice-cream. “Dark matter” is the winner for me, but they have a wonderful selection of flavours to satisfy any palate. The interior of the store is a nice hangout when the weather isn’t flash and the owners are beyond welcoming!

THE BEST vegan ice cream out there! Love that it's open late as their Chai Ice Cream is the perfect late night treat!

Vegan chocolat hunny comb icecream was to die for !! But I mean I've tried most of their vegan icecream and they are all so good!!

Big Dee's where do I start. The design and the scenery around the shop was very amazing, the melting ice cream effect on the wall and just all the little details were very unique. It really made me and my classmates aware that Big Dee's was a very nice establishment. The Ice cream was incredible especially the Birthday Cake and the double Cookies n' Cream the flavor was immaculate. The ice cream would melt inside your mouth and all there. Defiantly one of the best ice cream I have ever tasted 10/10. Definitely worth the price. Ash and Maddie were so kind and thoughtful even though there were a lot of kids. I will definitely visit Big Dee's again and with my friends and family.;)

Big Dee's is an awesome local spot! Their fancy weiners are tasty and customizable with some interesting fancy weiners as well. The ice cream is so good! I'm dairy free and they always have at least one vegan flavour in stock, so that's always a big plus. Their ice cream cakes and ice cream sandwiches also looked so good! They have closed for the season and will reopen in the Spring

"I like Big Dee' and I can not lie" omg...just go try the sour Watermelon and birthday cake ice cream. I did a combo on a waffle cone and well it's awsome. I bought some macaroons for the road..and I can go home satisfied.. lol!.. cute place, cool flavors, yummy food, great service. 💛

I don't know if you've tried their chili yet but you need to! Everything about this place is a win! The macarons are ridiculous, the hot dogs are fantastic! She uses local products that are amazing quality and there's vegan options as well. The fact that it looks like a magazine cover is just a bonus. I can't wait to try the icecream 😊

Very yummy ice cream. Open pretty late compared to other places in town so it was nice to have this option for dessert. We both got ice cream which we enjoyed on their patio. I liked the interior decor, very creative and colourful. Will come back again.

Awesome place. The owner is a cool dude, the place has an awesome vibe. Everything on the menu is gluten free and vegan. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, the toppings were not too much and not too little. Highly recommend this place.

Friendly and super knowledgeable staff. They have simple tastes and exciting combinations of flavors. The waffles you wouldn't know are gluten free!! I could have taken a bath in the coconut whip!! Thanks guys I'll be back!

A little gem in Nelson - just off Baker st, the main street for little shops. There are many good vegan dessert options here, like the waffles, sundaes, and smoothies. I got a waffle with cacao nibs and coconut milk whipped cream that was refreshing and just sweet enough.

Super yummy ice cream. Sausage is also very tasty. Nothing on the menu will disappoint. Fun and bubbly atmosphere!!!

I LOVE BIG DEE'S. Such a staple in my life/the life of the neighbourhood. Whatever your dietary consideration or restriction may be, there is something for you there. Everything is homemade too! I am never not impressed by the artistry the staff put into their work- it seems there is something new and handmade there everyday. Just a creative, funky, deelightful little spot to take yourself and your friends to :)

So much scrumptious goodness, I don’t know where to begin! Big Dee’s small batch ice-cream is deliciously rich and creamy!! They always seem to be coming up with exciting new flavours, too! And they make ice-cream cakes, too!! I’ve also tried the salted caramels, toasted marshmallows, and macarons! Sooo good! The macarons are “a little taste of heaven” and beautifully packaged for gift giving! Lots of great choices if your bringing the family in for lunch, too! Loaded hotdogs and smokies with lots of yummy sides!! You’ve gotta try this place ... START THE CAR!!!
