We had a super fun 4 night stay here. We loved our double site, it was so perfect to share with family. But the mosquitoes were truly terrible! I would estimate my husband had 60+ bites. The nature centre was our favorite part, my kids loved getting ice cream and we loved the coffee. The staff are so friendly and informative. We were able to enroll our kids in the day camp on our last day which made packing up so much easier for the adults! And they had a blast! I’ve never seen day camp offered at a campground, what an incredible amenity! The water level was quite high which really limited the beach areas, but everyone was respectful in sharing the small remaining beach. Nelson is such a lovely city to have nearby. We also enjoyed Ainsworth Hot Springs. This is such a great park, I just wonder if there is a time to visit when the mosquitoes aren’t as hungry!

Great place, lots of bird watching along the marshes. Huge red ant nests that you wish to avoid. Careful if playing Bocce ball you don't disturb them!

Beautiful escape from the big city, but not to far of a drive from a nearby town. Facilities were clean, and site staff had an active presence.

Well maintained lots for camping. Large beaches. Fun and easy walking paths. If it's during the salmon spawn that's another great feature. Careful for the poison ivy

Beautiful view! Clean and quiet, showers available. Only 14 sites with electricity but we were only in for the night.

Great site, camping spaces were well kept, toilets are very clean. The beach is what sold it. I was there on a lovely sunny Monday. Had the whole beach to myself. Derek one of the park rangers was a delight, super helpful friendly and just all round wonderful.

Amazing camp ground, well maintained, clean, big sites, friendly staff. What more could you ask for? One of the top 5 parks in BC. Lots of walking trails, salmon spawning grounds and a big beach.

What a fabulous road trip to Kokanee Creek to see the salmon spawning. There was not a mosquito anywhere to bug us. There are bathrooms available and they were clean, well stocked with paper and hand sanitizer. Accessibility was good. The paths and boardwalks were very well maintained. There was ample parking and no fee to park and enjoy the salmon. the last video i posted showed one jumping😍

My stay in Osprey campsite was at the hottest point in history. This is a nice clean provincial campsite and well supervised. You have to go over to the main campsite for showers and they are free and they are hot. There is a dog beach off of Osprey however it would be nice if they put some sand in there as I tripped over a big rock, and probably broke my toe.

If you’re visiting the area, it’s a must see place. Staff are super helpful with any question you have. The park is also maintained very well. The beach is very beautiful and clean. Don’t forget to visit the fish channel

Solitude, tranquility and peace. If you venture out on the sand bar, you come to a point where you look around and feel in awe of the majesty that is our planet. Thousands upin thousands of trees adorn the hills surrounding you in every direction. You truly feel like a speck of nothingness in it all! Truly humbling moment for me. I hope you find your zen there too!

I love this campground so much. Nice beach in the summer. September is so fun with the salmon spawning. The sites are beautiful. The info centre is AWESOME! Fun for kids and adults. And a nice place to get a coffee/hot chocolate.

Beautiful, well kept campground. Campground was quiet at night and bugs weren't too bad! Lovely, sandy beaches and some trails. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and I will definitely be back!

One of the top provincial parks we’ve stayed in. Sites in the sandspit side are fairly private with some shade cover. The dog beach is just as lovely as the main beach. Clean sites and friendly hosts. The salmon were spawning (late August) which was amazing to see and a short walk from campsites. Lots of bear activity as a result - so being best aware is a must! A great spot to use as your base for exploring the area. We’ll be back!

This is such a beautiful camping destination between the large camping spots, the interpretive Center, the access to the lake, the stream where the salmon spawn in August and the spotting of bears in a safe setting. Also, the camp management and staff do such a great job of managing the campground.

Such a wonderful campground with great amenities. They have hot showers and flush toilets in clean buildings throughout the campgrounds. They have a wonderful education centre that has a ton of information on the local flora and fauna, theirs bear skins and skulls and a full library and knowledge to be pursued at your leisure. The staff at the campground is awesome, so nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. The beaches are only a short walk from the campsites and surprisedly big with beautiful sand, as well as very well maintained. I don’t think I saw a single piece of trash there. The beach is very shallow as there is a sand bar that runs the entire length of the beach. Great for paddle boarding in the morning or evening, as the afternoon can get really windy. I highly recommend staying here if you have a family.

On this most recent trip to Kokanee Creek Provincial Park we visited the spawning channel, where, although the spawning season has passed, we learned about how Kokanee salmon became landlocked in Kootenay Lake with the construction of the Bonnington Dam, how the channels are created and maintained, and how Kokanee means 'red fish', which is exactly what spawning Kokanee are... red.

This is a big Campground, sites are spacious in your not to close to other campsite, the beach is wondrous Sandy beach for mile or more, very unusual for BC Lakes.

Found the park on thatmap.com. A little secret is they have excellent espresso in the visitors center. Don't forget to walk to the waterfall! What a charming park.
