A gorgeous National Park with many quick hikes off the highway to stretch your legs. If you keep your eyes peeled you may even see a bear or other wildlife next to the highway. See this grizzly bear?! We are blessed with so much beautiful nature!

Kootenay National Park is a heaven on earth. Camp sites are amazing and very well maintained. Park provides unlimited firewood, can't bring your own firewood. There are many adventurous trails and breathtaking spots. You need a good few days to fully explore and enjoy the beauty of this Park. Late summer or early fall is the ideal time to visit.

We decided to take a different route to Banff this year and took the highway from Golden to Radium then up through Kootenay National Park. I had not been that way since I was a kid and was amazed with all the beautiful views along the way. We will definitely take this route again one year, and check out the National Park in more detail in the future.

Haven't had a chance to hit the trails or camp in this park, but have driven through it many times on the way to Radium. The scenery is breathtaking and there's always a fair chance to spot wildlife. Have seen some big grizzlies right by the road.

Visited this park during my epic self-drive trip from Mississauga to Tuktoyaktuk. Hiked the Marble Canyon trail, Olive Lake and Sinclair Canyon. Due to the construction blocking I missed the entrance sign went astray, however after 2 hours I spotted a shortcut via a steep descent path eventually back to the designated route. An interesting short adventure.

Beautiful park. Tons of trails to hike and bike. Tons of campgrounds along the highway and down into radium and on. Forests are going to take a while to come back after the fires, you'll see whole mountain sides of just dead tree it's surreal. The only negative experience I can assure most people will have to deal with is the lack of service for 100+km of the entire valley which aside from simply being inconvenient feels very unsafe.

We stayed at the RV campsite, and the washrooms and full services allowed us to really enjoy our time here. I would advise if the parks Canada can maintain cleanliness and upgrade some of the facilities. The views were amazing, and the drive up to the park is beautiful 😍

Kootenay National Park in Canada is an absolute gem for nature enthusiasts, and I can't recommend it enough! The park's rugged beauty, pristine wilderness, and variety of activities make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an authentic outdoor experience. Here are some tips for your visit: Scenic Drives: The drive through the park along the Banff-Windermere Highway (Highway 93) is breathtaking. Be sure to stop at viewpoints like Vermilion Pass and Marble Canyon for stunning vistas. Hiking Trails: Kootenay National Park boasts an array of hiking trails suitable for different skill levels. The Stanley Glacier Trail and the Paint Pots Trail are popular choices. The refreshing alpine air and striking landscapes will leave you in awe. Hot Springs: Don't miss the Radium Hot Springs. It's a wonderful way to relax after a day of exploring. The soothing mineral-rich waters amidst a mountain backdrop are pure bliss. Camping: If you're into camping, Kootenay National Park offers fantastic campgrounds. The feel of sleeping under a blanket of stars surrounded by nature is truly magical. Wildlife Watching: Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife! The park is home to diverse animals like elk, deer, and even bears. Remember to maintain a safe distance and respect their natural habitat. Photography: If you're into photography, you're in for a treat. The changing seasons bring a kaleidoscope of colors, making every shot picture-perfect. Visitor Centers: Make sure to stop by the visitor centers. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and can provide you with valuable information about the park's history, geology, and the best spots to explore. Pack Essentials: Be prepared for changing weather conditions. Dress in layers, carry sufficient water, and pack some snacks for your adventures.

This is a wonderful national park with a lot to offer. Its trails are well-marked and maintained. It is much less crowded than other national parks near it. The only real downside is that, since it is less commercialized, there are fewer options for food and water. The park would benefit from some potable water options. Marble Canyon path was breathtaking and good for casual hikers. There are many more challenging hikes for the adventurer, though.

Go, now. What a fantastic place to spend a weekend. Radium is wonderful, the park is awesome, we saw bears, moose, elk, mountain goats, caught many varieties of fish. The crystal clear blue waters are breathtaking and the park is so clean it will blow your mind! Roads are newish and some freshly paved.

Marble canyon was gorgeous. It’s in kootenay national park. It’s a short hike with bridges to cross and lots of opportunity to take pictures. Along the way you get to see marble rocks everywhere. As to reach at the falls, you can feel the strength of the fall and see the depth.

Did Floe lake trail a few days ago: amazing views. The 21k in and out trail has 900m elevation, so it's not an easy one. Took me 7 hours.

Exceptional beauty all about. Must visit is their emerald lake and Takakkaw falls. The interpretation centre staff is very helpful. The pass bought at the Banff national park gate works for this national park as well

What can be said about the park other than its gorgeous! It's nice that you don't have to buy park passes to go enjoy a hike there. Walked along Boom Mountain.

Banff and Jasper gets all the attention and traffic, but Kootenay is just as worthy of your time as those two. Marble Canyon, in particular, is simply sublime and doesn't require a long and difficult hike to enjoy.

A very nice place to visit. You have to be very very careful because of the animals on the road. The view is absolutely magnificent them would be so much better if there weren't mountains in the way blocking The View.

This is very beautiful and those sea glasses are lovely. The flow of the lake is quite a sight to view as it’s very peaceful and really quiet, all you hear is lapping waves from the water. I went closer to put my hands in the water to feel it calmness and it was really cold πŸ₯Ά,felt like water from the freezer πŸ₯Ά. Damnnn… I loved it anyways.
