Awesome old lighthouse with a short 1/4 mile walk, but it is up a hill. Well worth the effort. Investigate inside and make sure to climb to the top. Incredible views!!! A definite do-not-miss.

Quick walk through a forest path, and then you pop out to gaze over the world’s longest free ferry 😊 (is that still true?) and gorgeous Kootenay Lake. Trail is well-maintained, and there are benches, a picnic table and a pit toilet at the top.

Loved Pilot Bay Lighthouse, after a short uphill hike you come to the light house. Once there you can go to the very top of the light house. I recommend wearing sensible shoes as its uphill and the stairs to the top of the lighthouse are a bit steep.

Neat lighthouse with a nice view. Fun to climb up the steep stairs. My dog tried to climb up and fell halfway down the first set. Just tie them up haha, worth the visit.

No tickets required since this is in a Provincial Park and is an historic site. There's a short walk up a 30 m elevation gain to a beautiful vista over Kootenay Lake. The lighthouse is open for visiting with two steep ladder staircases ending at the lookout. By closing the trap door you can walk out onto the exterior deck and see all around.

This is a short but steep hike. Take a walking stick. There is a nice view of the lake from the top. You can also climb the lighthouse.

Great that you can go in and to the top, assuming you are comfortable with steep stairs. The trail up is pretty, albeit a steady climb. The views are stunning.

I love the opportunity to climb up this historical lighthouse. The steps are very steep, though.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I have been looking forward to visiting the glass house, the fairy tale castle like home (now tourist attraction) since I heard of it years ago but wasn't until the day after traveling 4,500 km that I got to make that dream a reality!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ The broom maker is very friendly and willing to explain the process. And the prices for these handmade brooms are actually very good. It is definitely worth stopping.

πŸ‘ Was a nice quick getaway. Almost missed the entrance to the campground. Overshot it a bit coming from the south. The road leading to campground is small and many curves. It is a nice campground. No services, but clean, close to the beach. Was not sure if the trailer would be be okay, as we didn't se...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Amazing views, untamed wilderness. Boomer's Landing Beach has beautiful pebble rocks going into the water. A few friendly nude sunbathers. Bugs are a bit crazy there early summer but if you go to the smaller beach on the point (100' to the west through the woods) there are no bugs. Water is warming...
