Friendly local dinner with fabulous food and great menu. We stumbled upon this place very close to closing time and very hungry but they were lovely and welcoming, and we werent rushed out. Can't wait to go back to try the pancakes! Very tasty! Thanks!

From the welcoming vibe when you entered this retro diner, we were made to feel special with the smiles and great service of our two young servers. Our breakfast/brunch was wonderful! The Denver sandwich was generous with its eggs and cheese, and topped with crispy green lettuce and tomato. YUMMY! And before we left, we spotted a new dessert being put into the display case. When we asked what this attractive and mouth-watering looking dessert was, we were told BlackBerry Lavender Torte!... and we had to share a slice! So glad we did!!! Thank you to the staff for starting off our day in such a wonderful way!!!

We enjoyed our breakfast here. We had the Corned Beef Hash, with house made corned beef and the breakfast poutine. Really good food at an honest price. It was our cheapest breakfast on this road trip, and one of the most delicious. On a visit to Nelson, BC step away from downtown and visit Wait's On Nelson.

Quaint little diner in the heart of Nelson. Great breakfasts for a stellar price point. I had the corned beef hash, it was grilled to perfection and very tasty. Left feeling full.... a rarity with restaurants these days it seems.

This place is very nostalgic to me. I really miss the old Waits though when it was up town. I forgot for a while that it was still running but had moved. They have a great breakfast and great selection. Also a very busy place. I'll have to check in when I have more free time, It was full up when I drove down there, Unfortunately didn't have a lot of time. Definitely going to try to come back more often though.

Great little restaurant! For people that love old school, simple, fresh and honest food. The decor is very retro 50s-70s diner vibes, old glass bottles on shelves, checkerboard painted walls, vinyl records and various local artwork. If that's not your thing then don't judge a book by its cover either. The menu is fairly simple, breakfast in all its forms, a variety of sandwichs, burgers, hot dogs, sides, and rotating soup daily. Everything is obviously cooked to order and made with fresh in house ingredients. You can just tell, and its delicious! Nothing fancy, nothing finicky or overtop, just simplicity at its best. Definitely highly recommended! If I lived in the area I would go all the time. The only small downside is there is no AC inside, so it can get a little warm.

Friendly service, good food. Waiting staff were some interesting characters. Lots of old stuff (old radio, records etc) on display. Little dirty, but not enough for concern.

Great service! A group of 7 of us came in while they were very very busy and they still went above and beyond to accomodate us and get us a spot! The breakfast portions are big and the shredded potatoes with garlic are the absolute best!

Food was good and Goddess bless those who lost their lives… However, I just can’t get behind the wardrobes worn by their staff aside from the cook! Jaysus girls your gonna get burned!

I'm a sucker for 50's dinner atmosphere, and this place is everything I love. So many interesting decorations to check out, good food, and down to earth friendly servers. I've gone many times and will continue to. Try The King- Elvis sandwich. Yum!

I will never go back here. The reason? The menu prices are not correct as you find out when you go to pay. On the cover page if the menu in small print they say prices may be subject to change... but who looks at the cover page of a menu! The prices for the quality and quantity were already seeming a bit high, but after the increase at the till which was around $1.50 more then the menu it became an absolute ripoff. The Ruben was mostly sauerkraut with not much corned beef and didn't even come with the usual thousand island style sauce but either yellow or Dijon mustard. The service was also terrible with the waitress only coming by once to take the order. Nelson has much better to offer elsewhere want a quick lunch bite that's good go try Finley's bar and grill or any of the other restaurants on Baker Street.

Love this nostalgiac little diner. I come here all the time when I'm in town for my holidays. Great food, service and it's very affordable.

Stopped in here on a visit to Nelson. Definitely has an old school authentic diner feel and we really liked that. Coffee was good and the breakfast poutine was very satisfying. My only concerns were that the service was a bit slow but I got the impression they may have been short staffed that day and it was also a bit chilly sitting inside. We will definitely stop in here again when in need of an old fashioned breakfast.

I just had the breakfast wrap and it was perfect! The perfect amount of food and the flavours are really comforting and delicious. This is going to be my new go to for breakfast :)

Excellent diner! Super friendly staff and wonderful breakfast food and coffee. I particularly loved how they cooked our eggs and the sourdough toast. Would highly recommend.

Waits knows what they are doing and the staff is always super friendly. They have consistently delicious breakfast that is always on point. The toast comes perfect with melted butter, and they have 3 kinds of gluten free toast including cinnamon raisin! The bacon is crispy but not burnt, never floppy and sad. They also have some fine milkshakes to bring all the boys to the yard. Their pancakes are also amazing, including their gf ones!

Stopped in for breakfast onWednesday on our way to Osoyoos after staying in Nelson. We found it quite by accident as we drove out to find our highway and realized we were going in tge wring direction! Tge diner is red white and black with great touches of old LP's, bottles, and antiques! Lively. The restaurant is clean and the food was amazing. Great basted eggs cooked as requested and lively bacon, shredded hash rows with multigrain toast. Hubby chose the Heavy Wait with all the fixings! Great breakfast. Coffee was plentiful and good! Conversation with an older gentleman in a black cowboy hat was lovely. Thanks for a lovely morning! It was reasonably priced as well! $33.27 including taxes!

The staff was really kind, and when I ordered the food I waited maybe 5 minutes and my food was there... I like this restaurant because it doesn't have the super rich vibe and the food tastes home made. 100% reccommend this place
