This local beach is great for a few hours before dinner, or for the whole day in the sun. Floating down the river is always super fun, but first timers should be aware to never float to where this river meets the Columbia, as it can be dangerous. But with experienced friends, this is definitely a place to hit up in the Summer.

Amazing sandy beach with nice shady areas and sunny spots to set up for the day. Water is warmer than the other bigger lakes and waterways in the area, and there is not much current until you are out deeper. Note that there is no garbage service so be prepared to pack out what you bring in so that it stays litter free!

Over crowded. Worthwhile for non locals to keep driving and go to Millennial Park in Castlegar or Lakeside Park in Nelson.

Nice sandy beach. A long walk down to the water. Only 1 outhouse, no shaded areas.

Such a gorgeous place. Magnet fishing people beware. There is a submerged railroad tie.

A nice little secret gem. Insane people will jump from the railway into the water and magically survive. Nice little picnic tables on the grass and a good stretch of beach by the river. Float down in the freezing cold water if you like a strong current. No doggies allowed for you puppy people.

Awesome sandy beach with beautiful turquoise water. Cold, but refreshing and the current is just perfect. You can jump from the bridge if you’re looking for an extra thrill

Water was warm, umbrellas were out and the beach was packed with outdoor loving people. Rope jumping, swimming, hiking, picnicking were just some of the activities going on!

This is my childhood swimming hole so I am a bit partial. I love this place. The water is so clear, I want to drink it. (Don't drink the water.)

Beautiful, sandy riverside swimming hole with a rope swing, old trellaced railway bridge, and cool water. Refreshing pit stop on our bike tour
