Relaxed atmosphere and great food. Promise, our waitress, was instrumental in making this a night to remember with good service and a unique flair for hosting. 3 Fires in fire pits outside added to the atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant for relaxed dinner, good food and excellent service.

Took my family for the first time, we enjoyed and had fun. It was perfect and a waitress by the name of Promise Ngobeni gave us the best service.

Had assorted toasties from them today every filling was well prepared and delicious and the bill was more than fair for the food we had most enjoyable will definitely be back One year later and the food is now even better

I stood 10 min @ the board stating to wait to be seated. Whilest the staff looked twice at me and only after i walked in. I got attended to. (I walk with crutches) Waited so long for our bill to arrive. The staff and manager trend to ignore you.

This place was recommended for us by the Carol Tree Guesthouse, just a few minutes away from it, and we are thankful for the recommendation because it was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting in Mbombela🤞🏾

Took the family for a breakfast. Our waiter Lungi was very friendly and gave us excellent service! The food was delicious, the coffee was spot on! Afterwards, we went on the 2,5km walk and thoroughly enjoyed it. Amazing view from the top. Will definitely come back.

One star for good service, the other for nice view Could give a third because they have a lot of stuff for kids but for me personally that’s not a plus I had food that was neither great nor terrible but could’ve easily been improved through seasoning or removing the hard skin of the eggplant The smoothie was terrible. Not blended together. Weird taste. Not gone bad though, just really bad

If you consider yourself a Eggs Benedict “connoisseur”, then you have met the peak of taste at Friends Cafe! Take the smoked trout and add avo. Ask the waiter for a slice of fresh lemon and the red (original) Tabasco! 😋 There is a trail-run route with different distances, kids play area and a scenic area to sit next to the river and enjoy life! 👌👌👌

Lovely outing for family and friends and for ones 4 legged babies. That was a plus point. Spent half a day there. Enjoyed the market as well.

Stunning restaurant. Easily outshines many in Joburg and Cape Town. Our sever (Treasure) was friendly, bubbly and full of chat. It's was really a lovely experience. The staff talks highly of the owners which is nice to hear. Peacan pie is a winner

Wonderful eating experience, next to the river. Great atmosphere. Food is so delicious and portions worth the price. You wait a bit for food but its because its made fresh. Worth it! We enjoy every meal.

When we first arrived at the restaurant, there was a server who greeted us with a big smile on her face and offered to try and find us a table though the restaurant was packed and quite a few reservations had been made. A woman whom I assume was the hostess (blonde hair, blue eyes, short) walked up to her and asked if we had a reservation, the server told her no we didn't and she immediately went "No, no, no, all the tables are reserved" with such an appallingly dismissive attitude and I was immediately put off from there. They eventually found us a table and we were served by the most amazing waiter. She was quick, friendly and and so helpful! Everybody enjoyed their food and I highly recommend the condensed milk coffee. I really didn't mind that there was no space in the restaurant and reservations had been made but that hostesses attitude was beyond disgusting. Only forces beyond human control can understand why she's in the service industry. And she also watched us like a hawk while we were there. Such a shame cause their establishment is lovely, their food is delicious and the rest of their staff is great.

Service was a bit slow. In general the food is very expensive for what you get. Paid R150 for a chicken snitzel and had to pay R20 extra for 30-50ml pepper sauce.
