Stumbled
on
this
spot
as
I
was
walking
through
Jhamsikhel
and
it
looked
very
inviting.
I
was
brought
in
by
the
ambience
not
gonna
lie.
Soon
as
I
sat
down,
I
noticed
the
decor
was
more
Newari
than
Japanese
but
turns
out
it
was
remnants
of
the
last
restaurant.
As
Tokyo
Ramen
House,
they've
only
opened
on
the
14
of
Dec
2022
it
seems.
Overall
it's
a
great
space
with
indoor
seating
at
the
street
level,
private
rooms
and
patio
dining
on
the
second
floor.
The
menu
is
pretty
expansive
from
appetizers
to
sushi,
ramen
and
Bento
boxes.
My
friend
and
I
had
a
little
bit
of
everything.
We
had
to
get
the
ramen
and
we
got
the
Braised
Pork
Ramen
and
the
broth
base
was
good.
There
was
Chinese
vegetables
and
even
an
achar
in
there
so
I
think
the
chef
was
going
for
some
fusion
Ramen
with
Nepalese
influence
-
it
kind
of
works
as
a
novelty.
We
also
got
some
Maki
rolls
-
Aburi
and
Unagi.
Overall
I
think
I
preferred
the
Unagi
roll
more.
Was
happy
to
taste
proper
Sushi
rice
with
rice
vinegar
and
sweetness.
The
Aburi
Maki
was
ok
in
comparison.
After
chatting
for
a
bit
(
the
ambience
is
nice,
we
had
live
music
when
we
were
there
too)
my
friend
and
I
ordered
more
food
and
this
time
we
got
a
Chicken
Karage
Bento
Box
and
Deep
Fried
Squid.
The
Chicken
Karage
Bento
was
a
generous
portion
complete
with
some
Vegetable
Maki,
Miso
Soup,
Tempura
Vegetables,
potato
croquettes,
salad
and
pickled
daikon.
The
Karage
sauce
was
like
a
Teriyaki
sauce.
The
tempura
were
not
as
light
as
they
should
be
but
were
crispy.
The
Fried
Squid
looked
like
it
got
a
similar
treatment
to
the
Tempura
and
could've
done
with
a
lighter
batter
but
it
was
OK.
Overall,
I
really
wanted
to
root
for
the
menu
and
I
think
there
is
amazing
potential
here.
Being
a
soft
opening,
they're
probably
just
figuring
things
out
but
I'm
sure
this
place
can
be
a
success
with
attention
to
some
details.
Ganbate!
