After reading the recent review about sadhana I was wondering how will be my stay in the retreat Center as I booked for one month. I must say that the Center is absolutely perfect and peaceful ! The staff are friendly, polite and willing to help you in anyways. I really don’t understand why people take pleasure into putting negative comments. Before coming you must understand that a retreat in Asia is not a five star hotel spot as we have in western countries. Most of the retreat have only one purpose learning and sharing. Especially if you choose a retreat with family and ecological values so yes water can be cold as in many places in Asia, but you must understand the system of the solar panels. They are very effective during sunny hours ! Sadhana honor his promise and even more. When you are coming to sadhana you are part of the family. Anu, Kamal and the rest of the family will make sure you feel happy, healthy and loved. The landscape is beautiful and the atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing with the Ayurvedic treatment they offer. Massage are always available with Yam anytime with experience and dedication. The yoga level is very good and as a Hatha yoga teacher I must say that I was impressed by the authenticity of the practice. Kaushal always adapted himself to the class in terms of level or needs. He teach yoga in a very modern and dynamic way but always traditionally as he respects his peers. Always find a way to challenge, adapt, renew and make it fun, useful and understandable for all. Susita is the other meditation teacher and she is also very knowledgable. Always happy to chat and share her experiences. She is in charge of the morning routine based on stretching mantras Mala meditation, Kriya and Reflexologie. Most of all I must say that her laughing yoga therapy is the best !! It will give you a big smile for the all day. Cooking is amazing, everything is healthy and organic with a good taste of Nepal. Actually most of the veggies and herbs are coming from the organic garden that they have. Every single thing in this retreat is made on custom for you with love and passion. This is a real gentle yogi place for yogi spirit or people willing to discover yoga and meditation with love and authenticity ! Ecologic, organic and a good cleanse with kindness and knowledge. Personally I feel this place is so worthy !! You are even practicing bhajans every day with the full family. Learning how to chant mantras, but also their meanings. Always a good occasion to play Nepalese / Indian music instruments and have fun together in one vibration !! As they say themselves sharing is caring and it is what they do best !! Thank you so much for sharing beautiful sadhana family !!! Asatoma sad gamaya Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya Mrtyorma amrtam gamaya Namaste Marie !

Wow- words cannot describe this place! I had the most magical time at Sadhana Retreat. The meditations were beautiful. The conversations with Durga were so special and the food that was prepared for us every day was out of this world. That, on top of the incredible setting of the retreat centre resulted in a truly incredible experience! I would recommend anyone to go, you won’t be disappointed (until you have to leave!) absolutely loved my time here!

Fantastic, family-run yoga retreat near Pokhara but still in a very calm, serene and green setting. Great for all levels of experience in yoga and meditation, with very good guidance. Delicious - local and homegrown - food as well!

If you want to try yoga and meditation then this is your place. Ideal for first starters and also experts, everyone is welcome and will find peace, relaxing serenity and spirituality here. I literally felt at home with my family right away, rooms and beds are really comfortable with private bathroom and the house is quiet and lovely. All activities are well arranged and give you time to nap, read, discover, chat but also experience different types of meditation and yoga. It's the best retreat in whole Nepal!

I spent 1 week at Sadhana Yoga retreat and I wish I stayed for 2 more. It’s a family owned business and you are very quickly becoming a part of the family. Binita cooks the best Nepalese meals for you and Kaushal teaches you top notch Yoga surrounded by their awesome vibes and the great scenery you have over the lake. Our group of 5 people quickly formed a close friendship, shared tons of laughter and stayed in touch even after the course. We had about 3 hours of yoga every day and my flexibility improved like crazy. I used to not be able to touch my toes with straight knees and now I can touch my forehead to my knees. In the meantime meditations and the fresh water swimming pool help you recover after some of the more intense workouts.

I have just spent a week at Sadhana and I can honestly say that this experience has been life changing. It’s difficult for me to put into words the profoundly positive impact that the incredible Sadhana team and it’s gorgeous and relaxing location have made on me. Durga is the wisest, kindness, most patient and generous soul who works endlessly to ensure that each student is cared for. I have grown spiritually, increased strength in my body, and I leave with life-long friends. The accommodation is fantastic and the food is out of this world amazing! I cannot recommend Sadhana Yoga Retreat enough….please come here and experience this magical place for yourself!!!

I was hesitant when I booked this trip because I’ve done yoga less than 5 times and just started to practice meditation, but when I reached out, I received prompt responses and was told everything would be catered to my skill level. When we arrived, the Sadhana family made sure we were comfortable at all times, from dietary restrictions to our physical well being. While I came for yoga and meditation, it was the positive energy, spiritual enlightenment and best vegetarian food one could ask for. Everyone needs to experience this retreat. 10/10

My partner and I went for a half day program of Hatha and chanting Yoga. The ashram is beautiful and its location is excellent, secluded on the top of a ridge accessed by walking up a stone path for 3-4mins. Both of the teachers were extremely knowledgeable and engaged in ensuring your experience was the best it could be. The chanting yoga was very interesting and powerful, we entered a flow state and lost ourselves in the melody and worlds of the chant. Our teacher eloquently explained the meaning and symbolism of each mantra we picked. Was a truly great experience and I would love to do it again. The Hatha Yoga was very well structured and catered to our experience level. We learned many new positions and had valuable adjustments to our positions throughout the practice. Our teacher was extremely knowledgeable and it showed. He has traveled to many countries to teach, practice and learn more yoga. We were given delicious milk tea and pop corn upon arrival. After our classes we were fed a home cooked Nepali meal which was AMAZING. In total we payed a little over 5000 rupees for the experience and it was well well worth it. I highly recommend coming and practicing here.

It was hard to decide which Retreat to take in Pokhara. In the end I followed my heart and was open minded what to expect. I am familiar with Yoga but didn’t have any experience with meditation. I took the 3-4 days Yoga , Meditations and Detox Programm, and choose on the last day my silent day. It was a great experience. The whole Sadhana Family Team took care. You are part of a family during the stay. It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or professional, in the retreat they took of all of us care and considered the individual cases and wishes. I broke my twist recently, so my yoga teacher was taken care of that and was thoughtful of that, but still improving my strength and flexibility. The soul and heart of the place, Durga, is so loving and caring that you have to be there to experience that. She teaches you not just her journey of spirituality, but also cook for you the most delicious food you will have in Nepal. And she does it with such a big heart. After my detox days she spoiled me with so delicious (but still healthy!) food, that you have to close your eyes to really enjoy the moment. The different meditation classes were interesting and for sure an experience I would not like to miss. I met nice people, some had silence days, some also a detox, some wanted just to have Yoga experiences, and we all could agree on this wonderful place which gave us peace, calmness and harmony. I can recommend Sadhana Yoga Retreat 100%, and I really don’t write often this kind of reviews. But if a place deserve 5 stars, then the Sadhana Family does. They don’t do that much marketing about some so amazing things. E.g the food is cooked with mostly things from the Garden all organic. Durga prepared lots of herbs and powders by herself with it. And they support the local families or help if a tourist want to donate to the public school. Or that they are really supportive with simple organizations like taxi or getting a bus ticket. It doesn’t matter whether you have some hours or some days, go and have the experience. The best spending time you will have- it will be in you. My key lesson was that I should love myself more and take care of me more. And I loved to see my body flexibility and strength improving. Loved the time. Thank you so much for everything!!

I planned on staying in Nepal for 3 weeks and ended up staying for 3 months because I loved everything about this place! The view is one of the best in Pokhara, the food is fresh and delicious, the yoga is top notch, the meditation is peaceful and relaxing, and the people are incredible. I was a beginner to yoga when I showed up and left with a new sense of what yoga actually is and how much it can benefit your life. Kaushal is an amazing yoga instructor. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and it feels like you get a custom session even though you are in a class with other people. Manoj was great at the guided meditations and even better at making me feel completely at home and part of the family. From day one I knew we would be friends for life. Suju cooks the best dal bhat that I have ever had and is always happy and smiling. Anu is also another amazing instructor and always made me feel at home and taken care of. PK always had a smile on his face and was the one I could talk to about anything and always learn a new perspective on life. "Yam gives the best massages in the entire world," I can't even say how many times I heard that. Kali was always there to help me with whatever I needed while trying to teach me some Nepali at the same time. Som taught me how to properly eat with my hands which came in handy haha. And Asanga and Durga (the owners) are two of the most loving and genuine people that I have ever met. Asanga is full of energy and passion and Durga is full of love and peace. It's no wonder why I loved this place so much when the people who started it are so incredible. Overall, Sadhana made my entire Nepal trip worth it and I know I now have another family in Nepal that I will come back and visit soon. If you are thinking about going here, stop thinking and JUST DO IT. It changed my life and after being there for 3 months I saw it change countless other's lives as well. There is something special about this place and the people running it. Thank you all for making such a big difference in my life! I will be back soon! Oh yeah, plus I lost 25 pounds while I was there which is awesome! haha. Namaste! - Chris

I loved every single aspect of Sadhana Yoga Retreat Centre. Their program is amazing, the classes are great, the teachers are really good, best Nepali food that I had! It feels like a family and I felt part of that! I did the sightseeing program and it was a very fun day outside the retreat. We were lucky enough to have a great view from Sarangkot, we visited local temples (where I was the only tourist!) and caves, had breakfast in a local restaurant, and had the boat trip! After an intense day I was very glad to be back at the paradise that the retreat is and join the activities. I’m very glad that I decided to go during monsoon season! Actually, it rained way less than I was expecting, mostly during the nights (and it was pretty magical), the places in general were quiet and especially if you are looking for yoga and meditation it doesn’t really matter if it’s raining or cloudy. Highly recommended!

My boyfriend and myself came here for the 4 days juice fasting retreat and we loved the experience. It was our first time doing fasting and we couldn’t have hoped for better support from the team working here at Sadhana. The yoga classes were of high quality, the meditation was great and we learnt a lot from here. The view from our room was amazing and the two meals we had at Sadhana were really tasty. The only little negative feedback I have is that the bed in our room was slightly two small for the two of us but it didn’t matter as we had such peaceful sleeps anyway. Thank you to the whole team, we wish to come back very soon <3

Namaste There are not enough words to describe this life changing experience. I did a 6-night silent retreat in which the Sadhana family made me feel at home with their love, care and kindness. I joined as a beginner in yoga and meditation and I left with so many lessons learnt, peace and love. I met so many wonderful people, including the staff who were always very attentive with a big smile. Specials thanks to Durga for sharing her passion and knowledge and to Binita for her amazing cooking. You all will be in my heart. Best of luck to the Sadhana family. May you keep touching more life’s!

My husband and I did a 4 day Intro to Hatha yoga course. Thanks to the Sadhana family we improved a lot over the 4 days ☺️ And started to include some things we learned in our routines. The food is amazing and they take special care if you have any dietary restrictions. They make sure that the food is nutritious and healthy so you have enough energy for the day's activities.

I arrived to Sadhana to complete the silent retreat, not sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a magical experience - exactly what I needed. The yoga, meditation, and nature will keep you grounded but not disturbing the process of calming those fluctuations of the mind. I believe I became more aware of the teachings of silence, and choosing the right time to speak, if I should. I felt looked after, connected to the world as well as to my body. Highly recommend if you're looking for a safe space to recover from the rushing world! Namaste Sadhana family for the love & care 🙏 😊

The delicious food, the very comfortable and clean rooms, the magnificent views of the lake and the loving company of everyone there make your stay at Sadhana an unforgettable experience.

What a beautiful experience I had staying at Sadhana. I can't speak highly enough of Durga and her family. They made me feel immediately welcomed and so at home. Their energy is so pure, and the teachings you learn are practical, grounded, and joyful. And the reviews are true about the food! It's made with so much love and intention (thank you Binita!). I recommend this place highly. You will walk away with new insights and a deeper connection to self. Thank you Sadhana!

I had the most amazing time at Sadhana Yoga Retreat. I did 2 days of yoga and 1 day of cooking, and it was the best 3 days of my entire Nepal trip. Highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in yoga, meditation, spirituality, or just want to experience something completely different. A note for visitors: be aware that there is no direct path for a car to the retreat and you’ll need to walk 5 min uphill with your luggage to reach the retreat.

Sadhana yoga retreat is a little piece of paradise. The Sadhana family welcomed me with so much love and positive energy. I felt immediately at ease and relaxed. The center is just outside Pokhara and offers a fantastic view on the lake. You are introduced in the world of yoga, meditation, reflexology,... During your stay you really get to know yourself better, while Durga takes care of you and offers you daily fantastic, healthy meals. I felt sad leaving these amazing people and wonderful place. I just took the evening class from 4-7pm, because I did not had enough time in Pokhara. But it was worth every second! Super nice location, lovely people and an amazing yoga class, with a small group. The teacher explained a lot, which I definitely took advantage from. I was searching a long time where to go and I'm super satisfied with my choice! We also saw a lot of monkeys, really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. - Carola from Germany

I came to Sadhana yoga and meditation center for 11 days as Karma yogi. It’s was an amazing experience as it was my first time in a yogi place. Full of diverse activities that I was not aware of before. Such a good discovering !!! The morning meditation, nasal cleaning and other practices were conduct by Sujita with passion. The yoga classes were very intense and challenging thanks to our knowledgeable teacher Kaushal. I met a lot of different people coming from all over the world and I had the possibilities to share ideas and experiences about life, traveling, spirituality and of course yoga. The karma yogi course is a good opportunity to participate to an affordable retreat, discover yourself through challenges, associative work and other culture. The staff were very friendly, loveable and smily. A special thank you for Savita the sweet cook, that made me happy everyday with her delicious and healthy food. Thank you to Kamal and Prasanna that helped me for the preparation of my special Italian pasta for the team. Namaste Vincenzo

Sadhana is a very tranquil and restful place. It's located up on a hill above the town to catch the mystical breezes from across the lake. And close enough to pop into town for modern conveniences if you feel like it. The staff are friendly, and the food is great. An all-round heavenly experience.

My partner and I did the 6N/7D hatha yoga retreat and it was a wonderful, wonderful experience for the both of us! The view is phenomenal! Everyone at Sadhana was so warm, kind and treated us like family and made us feel at home. They had an excellent program for us that was adjusted for our different experience levels (my partner had none!). The food is excellent and made with a lot of love and all organic produce grown closeby. I would highly recommend as Sadhana is the oldest and best retreat in Pokhara. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!! We would love to come back sometime in the future.

I just spent 4 days in this retreat. The highlights for me was the amazing food from Binita, the view over the lake, peaceful atmosphere and good vibe of all the participants. I was a little bit disappointed with the yoga classes (I thought we would practice different styles and it felt a bit repetitive) but overall it was a great place to disconnect and recharge.

We were beginners and they showed us alternative yoga poses when necessary and they were brilliant instructors. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we felt that we learnt a lot even in one day. We wished we could have stayed much longer to experience even more!

I recently had the most incredible experience at Sadhana Retreat Centre in Pokhara, Nepal, and I can't wait to share my thoughts with the world. This place is an absolute gem for anyone seeking tranquility, rejuvenation, and a perfect blend of breathtaking nature and spiritual practices. The location of this retreat centre is nothing short of perfect. Nestled away from the bustling city life, it provides an oasis of peace and quiet, making it an ideal spot to unwind and find your inner balance. The serenity of the surroundings creates an ambiance that is conducive to self-reflection and deep relaxation. The food at Sadhana Retreat Centre deserves a special mention. The delicious and healthy meals they offer cater to all dietary preferences. Each dish is prepared with love and care, and the diverse menu adds to the overall experience. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a first-timer, the nourishing meals complement your journey towards well-being. The people at Sadhana Retreat Centre are truly exceptional. The staff and instructors are not only knowledgeable and skilled in their respective fields, but they also exude warmth and friendliness that instantly make you feel at home. Their flexibility in accommodating individual needs and preferences is commendable, and it truly enhances the entire retreat experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Sadhana Retreat Centre to anyone in search of a peaceful getaway and a chance to delve deeper into their yoga practice. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a beginner like I was, this place has something special to offer to everyone. Take some time off and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, the warmth of the people, and the enriching yoga experience – you won't regret it! Thank you, Sadhana Retreat Centre, for an unforgettable retreat. I will cherish the memories and carry the positive energy with me for a long time to come. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I spent nearby a month in this yoga retreat. Not only peaceful but also insightful environment flows here. Delicious food has taste of affection. All the programmes ends with a new experience of own being... Breath starts speaking to us and mind starts shutting down... Im very much blessed to be here and having a chance to experience myself by different yoga-meditation techniques... If anyone visiting Nepal, must come down here and enjoy the experience of being ownself....

Many thanks to Sadhana Yoga Retreat Centre for a wonderful stay over the last few months. My time there afforded me the space and resources necessary to heal a knee I injured roughly a month before I arrived. I also enjoyed the delicious Nepali dishes the Centre's cooks and chefs prepared in a loving and nurturing family environment using many items grown locally or in Sadhana's own organic gardens. In addition, I benefitted from several hikes around the Centre's main location and all the way up to the beautiful and serene silent retreat currently under construction in the midst of lush green hilly forests. The panoramic views and both locations' peaceful settings offered me unparalleled opportunities to immerse myself in nature as I took time for deep meditation, prayer, and reflection. All in all, this mind-body-spirit detox is having quite an impact on my life and will no doubt prepare me for the challenges and opportunities ahead. In loving gratitude, Hervé.

Hidden up to the hill you will find a peacefull and lovely place to recharge all the energy and loveself you need in your life. The owners are full of kindness, cookers, meditation and yoga teachers are the best ever. Five stars is not enough.... I will put each one of the sky.

Perfect place for those looking for peace and quiet. The place is isolated and away from the town close to the Annapurna cable car. Access is not super easy so mind your luggage. The views of the property are amazing. I truly enjoy the sunrises and sunsets over by the lake. I even spot a monkey one day. Also is a great place for people looking for practicing yoga and chanting. Food is really good and made with love. We are thankful for our stay 🙏🏽♥️

WOW! I had an amazing time, in this beautiful place with incredible people! The food was delicious and healthy and all the activities were rejuvenating. I am so grateful to have been in Sadhana yoga and have lived this deep, rewarding and inspiring experience. I had been so well welcome and treated all along my time there and I will forever remember the kindness and the authenticity of each person I met in this retreat. The view, the confort and the beauty of this place is perfect. I recommend this marvelous place for anyone who wants to live a peaceful and joyful journey fully connected to themselves.
