    sunset hike was worth the effort. wondrous sight of the everest peak glowing in the sunset light. be warned that the hike up from gorakshep is no joke. it’s tough and if you’re not a seasoned trekker, it could take upwards of 3hours.

    Fantastic place, well worth it. Maybe the best view in the world. Perfect in afternoon, use a headlamp to go down if you want to stay for the sunset. Not too hard climb if you go slowly. The top cairn is a bit exposed.

    The trail starts at GorakShep. Simple trek, the path is visible, no signs needed - just walk up towards the peak :) It can be very windy, please take thermos & extra layers with you. Can get crowded on the peak, early morning hours or sunset hours will be worth the effort.

    Worth the extra hike although very windy and cold. One of the best views of Everest on the entire trek. Don’t settle for just getting to base camp - be sure to make this climb!!

    Better go to Khalapattar (Black Rock) instead going to the base camp. I never understand why people go to the basecamp. From BC you can not see the Everest

    Decided to do a sunset hike since it would take less time for me than EBC. 1 hour 45 min up and ran back down with a headlamp. Definitely recommend sunset over the sunrise views!

    The trail is most amazing and one of the hardest one in Everest base camp. Usually you will start the trail in the 330 in the morning and reach upto 5500m. This is the place where you can see Mount Everest better than Everest base camp.
