I booked the retreat for a week and it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. I took part in a few days of yoga within the center but combined it with a 5 days hike/yoga. I loved that people on the retreat were flexible and listened to my needs and wants to ensure I have an unforgettable time. The teachers were all amazing, knowledgeable and cheerful. Not only did they made sure that everyone was able to follow the class but they would also explain the “why” we were doing what we were doing. I particularly enjoyed the evening ceremonies with the chanting, very special moments! The location of the retreat is ideal, close to the city centre but far enough to feel at peace and the view is absolutely stunning. The private rooms are specious, confortable and clean. I would say that what is unique about this retreat is that everyone feels welcomed because it is a family run business. Once I walked in, I felt like being part of Raj’s family. Btw, his wife is an amazing chef! Her food was a delight!!! I will definitely come back to this retreat :)

Me and my gf stayed at the Atmashree retreat on a 3 nights 4 days plan. We had an amazing experience at the retreat, the staff and instructors were really approachable and friendly. And it was great to be away from the hustle of Kathmandu and Pokhara in this tranquil location. Yoga was great and I have been regularly doing it since I left the place. Food was quite wholesome too. Only downside is, the focus is more on yoga and not so much on meditation. But overall a great experience.

I visited Atmashree Retreat for the 200h yoga teacher training and had a beautiful experience! Great location, loving and caring people, amazing food and cute dogs! I felt welcome from the first minute i got there and was sad to leave after one month of living with people that became friends.

Where do I even begin. I had the most incredible and welcoming 1 week stay at Atmashree last May. I totally felt like home from day 1. The food served in every meal were amazing and made from love. The yoga classes were top notch. The view was spectacular. Every activity was organized perfectly and most importantly the overall energy of this retreat was immaculate. All in all I had a magical experience. I am without a doubt coming back! Thank you Mantra and Raj family ♥️

I had the pleasure of completing the 200-hour cuota teacher course, and it was absolutely fantastic! 🌟 The food served was not only tasty but also added to the overall positive vibe. The atmosphere at the course location was perfect, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. 🌄 The quality of the teaching was top-notch! 📚 The instructors went into great depth, providing a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Even a month after completing the course, I find myself revisiting the materials because they were that good. 🧘‍♂️ I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone looking to deepen their knowledge and skills. It's a 5-star experience all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The yoga and meditation instruction here is brilliant. They cater to all levels from beginner, too advanced. All of the staff is so genuine and kind, the food is all freshly prepared and superb, and this place seems to attract some of the most wonderful people from all around the world. It’s also extraordinarily good value for money in my opinion. Very magical! Highly recommend.

I stayed 11 days at Atmashree Yoga retreat... I came for 8 days and extended my stay because it was so nice. I would have loved to stay more but I had other plans. The yoga lessons, meditation times, the food, the teachers, the environment, ... Everything is perfect! The owner is taking good care of the place and the people. There you will feel very good energy, a good place to relax and think about you. I could only recommend this place, I will be back for sure ! ❤️ Than you so much 🙏🏻

Opted for the yoga holiday package of 4 nights, which was great! The retreat is a little out of the city which makes it both accessible from Pokhara and a quiet, peaceful environment. The various highly professional yoga and meditation teachers were amazing, often explaining the philosophy/theory behind the physical practice. In just 5 days I made more progress than I thought possible. Overall, the general atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Would definitely recommend. The 5 stars speak for themselves!

To me this became a very special place! I came here for a yoga retreat and fell in love with the place and the people! So i decided to also do the yoga teacher training here:) And that was the best decision i could of made! It is really transformative the lifestyle of yoga in the teachers is really vibrant. Super good care and you can really feel they love to serve people the best experience possible. The lake view has stolen my heart. The food is unbelievably good. Its the perfect place to get out of the bizzy world and work on yourself / charge up. I am super gratefull for the whole athmashree team for All that they have done for me! They are like my 2cnd family now! Cant wait to be back one day!:)

Atmashree made me feel like I was in such a loving home, I didn’t want to leave and as I am back home now I am longing to go back to this beautiful retreat ♥️ Every single person working at Atmashree had such kind souls, they would always be willing to help you. They are always smiling and just radiating with love. I truly miss being in such pure energy, and will always refer them as my family. Everyday we would have different activities and classes, sometimes we’d wake up at 6am and have this spectacular silent walk without having breakfast without speaking a word you would walk up these beautiful hills with the team and just appreciate everything around. Raj’s classes were one of my favorites since he would always teach us how to do a couple of yoga stands and he makes the class so enjoyable. Thanks to him I almost perfected my head stand while I was there for only 5 days ! Some nights we would attend Kirtan where Mantra would sing his heart out while playing this wonderful instrument, you would feel this uplifting frequency all around the room. I felt love all around ! When it came down to meal times they were very generous always made sure we ate enough, and served us a variety of homemade tea. Overall I loved it, it was my first time going into a retreat and meeting beautiful people from all around the world. I miss everyone I met and definitely miss everyone working at Atmashree ♥️ thank you beautiful souls

We spent 5D4N at Atmashree Yoga Center and it was absolutely amazing! You find there different yoga teachers who teach various yoga and meditation techniques. We learnt a lot of new things and the peace that we felt during the whole stay is one of the best things! Schedule was also perfectly organized, you have many classes but also a lot of time for yourself, that we spent with reading or walking in the surroundings. Last but not least, it was great to meet so many new people from different countries, we loved chatting with them during breakfast, lunch and dinner time. And yes, food was just perfect!!🤩 If we go to Nepal again, we will definitely come back to Atmashree. Highly recommended place! 😊

Atmashree is a little paradise on the edge of the jungle with an amazing view over the lake. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable…and the food is delicious. But the most valuable experience was the yoga teaching Mantra ,Surya and Raj showed me not only the asanas but the whole lifestyle of Hatha yoga in a very authentic way. Thank you for these wonderful days in such a nice family atmosphere PS…I want to respond to the previous review of Daria….I was there too! How can you write such a comment when you hardly took part, neither in the yoga classes nor in the meals??? What a strange attitude…..good luck

This retreat was so nice! The program is intense with several classes a day and during the Hatha yoga sessions, the teachers pushed us to give our best, it felt really nice! The teachers are really beautiful people, they know what they’re talking about, they are so kind, helpful and I can say the same for the people I met who came to the retreat also. The food is also really good, all vegetarian and they can do gluten free food if needed. The rooms are just what we need, not too big, not too small, they are clean when we arrive. So overall it was a great experience on every single point! I would go again without hesitating if I come back to Nepal one day

Amazing! I did the 200 hour yoga teacher training course. Teachers were knowledgeable, patient, and competent. The location is up in the hills so quieter than Lakeside but still conveniently close, and feels very peaceful. The beds are comfortable and the food is varied and excellent. I learned a lot and really treasure this experience.

Lovely retreat for a beginner in yoga and meditation. The classes were carefully planned and methodology was explained well. It was really nice to met different staff in the classes and I enjoyed the surprise of each class. The properly is stunning with amazing views. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. I cannot wait to return and would highly recommend this place to anyone! Thank you!

It was actually better than expected. Everything super clean, the rooms were confortable, the food amazing and the yoga class super nice. You have activities all day long so it’s impossible to get bored and perfect if you are looking for some peace. Will do it again for sure !!! It’s an amazing experience for a very little price.

My partner and I originally just planned to stay 4 nights but we enjoyed it so much that we booked an extra 4 and are thinking about coming back for the teacher training. I do yoga only once a week to not have back pain and I wasn’t too enthusiastic about 5 constant days of yoga but the holistic approach from Mantra and his team was really amazing and covers breathing, chanting, meditation and not only the usual „yoga exercise“. We felt very relaxed and in balance there and had a wonderful time. A special thanks goes out to Surya and Sanjay who were amazing teachers and completed the experience let by Mantra. Hari Om Tatsat

We stayed as a couple for 4 days and 3 nights. The price is worth the quality of the services and teaching methods for most of the teachers. We loved the location far from noise and traffic almost in the middle of nowhere and easy to reach with their taxi services and motorbikes (for your luggage). The food was amazing and Rage the manager and yoga teacher is very experienced and passionate. The food was just amazing, laundry service and our room was spacious but a bit hot since we had just a small fan. The beginning needed an introduction to the program and place, but everything was great after all. Thanks!

My partner and I did an 8 day / 7 night yoga immersion retreat together at the beginning of November. We stayed at one of the private cottages, meaning that we had our own double room with a bathroom. We were very happy with our room, the surroundings, the food, the staff and the cute dogs! We also loved the more holistic approach to yoga as a practice consisting not only of physical exercise but also meditation and breathing techniques. We got a lot of inspiration for the yoga and meditation we do at home. My personal favourite was the sound healing session. We felt that the level of the yoga classes was best suited to beginners who have done some yoga before as some of the teachers did not explain the postures much. The teachers are very knowledgeable but understandably, our retreat was a little too short for them to be able to explain it all in much detail. For anyone wishing to learn more about the spiritual aspects of yoga, the yoga teacher training would be the better choice. As mentioned in the other reviews, people come and leave everyday. I understand this because many travellers in Nepal plan their itinerary on a short notice. Of course it also means that the level of the classes stays the same throughout the week and that many don't get a proper introduction after arriving. We were lucky as we arrived together with about 10 others on the same programme so we got a little introduction in the evening. Perhaps limiting the arrival days to 2-3 per week and giving a proper introduction to all newcomers would be a good compromise. That being said, we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend Atmashree! Thanks to Mantra, Surya, Sanjay and the rest of the team.

Late for review, but i have a lot of credits to those staff and ppl i met in this 200 hrs ytt. First, the place itself is awesome, every morning we saw beautiful cloud with the ricefield for breakfast. The lessons given in the ytt training was so holistic, not solo asanas, but also dip into the yogi theory, matra chanting and pranayama practice and so on deeply which is not offered in another place else. The singing bowl hands-on and drum playing at the meditation session were those of my favourite. Those experiences are so fascinating and unique to mention here, you have to experience yourself! thanks Mantra, Saroubh for sharing those inspiring thoughts towards life. Thanks Raj, coco and shreesa for trying the utmost to make our stays comfortable. And thanks the cooks and chef for offering such mouthwatering food everyday!! Everything and everyone there are just great. I wanna be back someday soon.

We stayed for 4 nights/5 days - the trekkers retreat. Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. The yoga/meditation/meals/rooms/staff and all the people we met made the stay very comfortable. Everyday was different enough from the previous, which kept us very engaged. I would highly recommend!

Ashamtree is nestled beautifully in the hills surrounding Fewa lake. It is an oasis that I enjoyed after a week of trekking. They offer a lot of different yoga packages with many options included. I had yoga three times a day with different teachers. The quality differed depending on the teacher. The food which they freshly prepared three times a day was amazing - everything a veggie lover could think of (maybe sometimes a bit too high in calories but I think this is typical Nepalese). I especially liked the many hangout areas which allowed me to be on my own or connect with fellow yogis if I wanted to. The family and staff who run this place were always around so you could ask them if you had questions. For my personal taste the center is a bit too big (they offer 32 spots and when I was there they were almost fully booked). Since they have new arrivals every day (which is good for the flexible traveler) it is a constant come & go and therefore in the beginning it felt a bit anonymous to me. That would be my only point for improvement: that they would sit down with you properly in the beginning, walk you through the schedule & the center with more time and discuss if there’s anything (else) you need/want (it is mentioned in former reviews as well). In the end I got all these information but either from the fellow travelers or by asking for it.

I have attended 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training in Atmashree. It was a great experience in all means. Mantra, Saurob, Surya and Srija are great teachers and shared all their knowledge with a very warm attitute. Food was great as well and if you would like to learn yoga teaching in Nepal, it is the best place to choose. And please send my greetings to +200 years old tree in their garden.

I arrived at Athmashree with not much expectation for the yoga teacher training and found a home and a family here. The location is so beautiful surrounded by nature and with a beautiful view of the lake. They set up the space so nice with so much natural light and stunning view at every corner. The stuff are exceptional, they took so much care of us , offered the guidance and support we needed along the journey of our training. It felt like family and home away from home. The food was delicious , the yoga instructors from @sayujyayoga are exceptional mentors and shared so much knowledge and absolutely love the approach they teach yoga as whole and starting with the basics. I already miss so much everyone there and the fire ceremonies with the mantra chantings, Pretty the dog 🐶. Hope to go back one day 🤍 A part of my heart is there ✨💫

The experience was so nice!! I was a total beginner when I decided to do the retreat of 5 days, and now I'm just looking for ways to introduce yoga in my daily life. The quality of the professors, the food, the place (with the view) are just amazing! They treat as you were part of your family! Absolutely recommended experience

I had the pleasure to stay at this retreat for 7 days and am planning to go again when I get the chance! The staff there are all super friendly and nice and work with such passion! I don’t have any yoga experience, and the teachers here were all super patience and taught me a lot! I would definitely recommend Armashree Yoga Retreat, especially to those who are new to yoga like I was. Here you are taught different types of yoga and mediation, which allowed me to get a better idea of what works for me! Plus they have some of the best food I have ever had! Totally recommend it.

We spent 4 days with Raj and his family at Atmashree and had the most incredible and meaningful time. The programming was a wonderful combination of meditation, different styles of yoga, meaningful conversations around a mug of tea, and mantra chanting. The food was incredible and so were the people, guests and organizers alike! I could not recommend it more!!

Hi there, we spent four days at atmashree and had an amazing time. It is very well located up the hill with a good view on the lake and you are woken up by the birds every morning. It is run by a super nice family who are really passionate for what they do and who are very experienced with a long education. They can explain you anything that has to do with yoga and meditation. Plus, the food is absolutely amazing! You get three cooked meals a day and it is super yummy and healthy (and a lot, you won't be hungry at any time ;) ). I had a very relaxing time there, you don't have to take care of anything and can just enjoy your time. Definitely a recommendation!

We had the best four days here! Raj’s family is so lovely, we learned so much from the other retreat members, the food was delicious, the yoga challenging but amazing, and the atmosphere was incredible! My only regret is not having enough time to stay longer. I will be back!!

If you’re looking for very good yoga and meditation -no matter if you’re a beginner or expert- with very delicious local food and lovely people, you’re right at Raj’s retreat. If I’ll have the chance I would definitely go there again but stay longer than 4days. Thank you and your family very much for everything! All the best the two sisters A&N

I’m a yoga teacher and i was looking for a place to inspire me and become a student again for a change and i found this amazing place. The teachers are very professional and so friendly. They teach with an open heart and in a very generous way. The food is something else it was actually my favorite food i had in pokhara. Everything in the place was so clean, quiet and beautiful. Thank you for being amazing hosts. Will come back again soon! Namaste :)

Athmashree Yoga is such magical place!! Don’t hesitate a second to come here, you won’t regret it, you will gain so many beautiful moments and experiences for the rest of your life. I booked the Sightseeing Yoga, which was amazing, we went to different locations in the morning and did yoga with the view of the Himalaya range. After breakfast I joined the courses of the rest of the classes. Everyday was so special, the food is amazing, the inspiring people you meet there and the most welcoming family Raj and his wife, Mantra and Surya. Thank you so much for this amazing time. 🙏🏼

Serene and education week in the hills with this wonderful family and group of yogis! I so enjoyed exploring the property, following the daily itinerary that was provided, and eating delicious meals prepared often with fresh ingredients from their gardens. I was there during the quiet season (monsoon), so without many students I received more one-on-one support in yoga sessions, and thoughtful conversations and the staff even picked me up/ dropped me at the Pokhara city center bus stop! I stayed in a private room with en suite bathroom, which was simply furnished and clean. I felt comfortable and at peace there, and would love to return next time I'm in the area. Thanks so much Atmashree!

I came across Atmashree whilst researching yoga retreats in the Pokhara region of Nepal and what can I say other than I was not disappointed when I decided to go with this beautiful little piece of heaven! My husband and I spent a week here before conquering the Annapurna Circuit and we had the most wonderful time! The food, the teachers, the location - perfection! Having visited various retreats all over the world, I can honestly say this was the best one by far. The daily schedule was the definition of a retreat - appreciation of nature with local walks, various types of yoga and of course, meditation periods. We loved our time here and would recommend to anyone looking for peace and tranquility in the beautiful Himalayan mountains!

I completed the 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training course at Atmashree and it was a truly life enriching experience. The location was beautiful, the accommodation was cosy and the staff were lovely. Also, the meals were very tasty. Our teachers were patient and knowledgeable. I particularly benefitted from learning about yoga alignment and I enjoyed learning about mantras and pranayama breathing exercises. I felt very comfortable at Atmashree and really enjoyed my experience there. I met many fabulous, like-minded people. I would recommended a visit!

I have no words to describe how amazing this week has been to me! Such an incredible place, great teachers, amazing food and beautiful people. I have been to few yoga retreats around the world and i can assure that this place is the best I’ve ever been. The schedule is exactly what I would expect from a retreat to be. 5 sessions a day, a lot of time to look inward and relax, good and relaxed yoga classes (suitable for beginners, but also for intermediate) I left because my visa is over but i would have stay longer if i could. And for sure will come again next time I’m in Nepal. Thank you Atmashree for this week🙏🏼🧘🏽‍♀️

I joined the retreat for 8D/7N. It is based in the hills of Pokhara, which is such a quiet and relaxing environment, offering beautiful views at any time of the day. This place is so much more than yoga. The days are filled with different meditations and yoga sessions, and some rest time in between which is much needed, also to give time to digest all the delicious food we eat. The staff is amazing, so friendly and kind, and will go beyond expectations to make sure you experience the best time. It is hard to leave and say goodbye.

My husband and I attended a one day retreat, as a way to relax and unwind after a big hike. We are complete yoga beginners and weren't sure what to expect but we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It was fantastic to try out different types of yoga and meditation, and to relax in a serene setting. The staff and instructors were really good and the sessions were perfectly fine for beginners to follow. Recommend!

This was my first yoga retreat and it was wonderful. I took the “Yoga & Sound healing” retreat. They follow a very holistic and philosophical yoga approach, not only focused on positions/movements. The schedule is well structured and very dynamic. Teachers and the other family members are extremely kind, full of knowledge and wisdom as well as open for your questions/needs. Delicious vegetarian food, big room for the classes and clean accommodations.

This place is absolutely magical! All that they provide it should be rate as 5 stars! The view from the hill is stunning, Mantra and Raj (and every member of this family) take care of every detail with care and love, food is delicious, dogs super cute, great classes and very knowledgeable teachers! I did the 7 nights / 8 days retreat with a friend and we would have liked to stay so much longer. I highly recommend Atmashree for a short, long or even for a Yoga Teacher Training. It is an amazing choice to take a rest of the trekking. Thanks everyone for made us feel as at home in such a wonderful week 🙏

I did the retreat for 10 days and had the most amazing and magical time there. From the beautiful views, delicious food, great classes and wonderful teachers, Atmashree was to me the highlight of my trip to Nepal. I left with a much deeper knowledge of yoga and meditation. I absolutely recommend this place and I’m already looking forward to going back one day!

This Yoga teacher training journey has been my best experience in Nepal. I loved every minute I spent here. The place is located on mountains with good view of the village and the lake. It's very beautiful and peaceful here. The staff was friendly and very accomendating. Amazing vegetarian food cooked with love. The teacher training course is well organized with very good teachers. I came as a yoga newbie and now I definitely feel more connected with my body and awareness. Strongly recommend to anyone who is looking for a good place to relax and enjoy nature.
