The best Filipino restaurant we have tried! I have eaten from the food truck before but this was my first time in the sit down restaurant. The menu is clean and simple without an overwhelming amount of choices. The place is cute with a nice casual vibe. The food we had was outstanding! We started with the lumpia, which was hot, fresh, and with juicy meat. I ordered the pork belly sisig bowl, which was absolutely delicious and not spicy as the pepper would lead you to believe. My boyfriend got the chicken tocino bowl, and while it was very tasty, it wasn’t as good as the pork belly sisig and we really didn’t get any flavor of tocino. What impressed us a lot was the rice as it was cooked perfectly, so fluffy and with nice flavor. I also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts instead of an appetizer size, and the side was more than enough! The sprouts were another standout and were some of the best we have tried in Jacksonville. They were SO crispy without being greasy and with great flavors. Definitely recommend this dish, and go for the side order unless you want an entree sized plate of sprouts! For dessert we ordered the turon, but all of the options sounded amazing. The ube ice cream was delicious, and the combo with crispy plantain was nice, but for me there was too much plantain and it was really thick. Overall, every dish was a pleasure and we are excited to come back and try some different things!

I am amazed. The food was excellent. We ordered off the lunch menu. Everything was delicious. Before we left, they were setting the dinner menu's. We took a peak at them. Looks great for dinner. We will be back for dinner. If you are looking for some flavor. This place is a must. Update: Returned for dinner. Added photos. They did it again. Amazing flavor. Delicious. Steak dinner, Salmon dinner is great. If you haven't been here, you are missing a great spot.

This is an awesome Filipino restaurant which actually started out as a food truck! They make everything from scratch including the ice cream. We had lumpia, chicken tocino bowl, and asked for palabok pancit which is off the menu now but they made for us. Everything was delicious and fresh - a small twist on Filipino food but still whole and authentic. Portions are large and quality is great within a casual setting. They have other things like pork belly sisig tacos which is cool too. For dessert, we had a huge bowl of halo halo & the crispy turon. Great restaurant and friendly owners. Thanks so much!

Abstrakt Filipino Essence is our favorite place for date night ... nothing ever disappoints. Today we went for lunch. I didn't think it could get any better but WOW! Chef JoJo has it going on here. From the brussels sprouts (the absolute best we have ever had) and lumpia to the sig sig tacos and Lagonista burger (omg the melty cheese on this burger) and dinner entrées which are ALL consistently superb every time, you just cannot go wrong here. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is on point. Five stars isn't enough for this restaurant!

This place is a must try if you like filipino food! With my wife and mother being filipino the bar was already set high for good filipino food. After trying this restaurant today it's going to be a must stop whenever we're in the Jacksonville area. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and freshly made. You can tell the chefs preparing the food cared about what they were sending out. Our server was also great and personable. He gave us recommendations on different things to try. I had the chicken tocino as my main entree. It had a Brussel sprout topping that was different but blended well with the rest of the dish. It was all delicious. The restaurant it self had a good vibe. Inside was clean, nice and simple decor with a filipino touch. Simply put if you like filipino food or want to try something different, this is your place! Highly recommended!

My wife and I always wanted to come here, and we finally made it one busy, Tuesday night. We ordered the pork belly sisig bowl, oxtail kare kare, street fishballs, salmon kilawin, and some ube cheesecake to take home. They were all delicious! This place is definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of Filipino food! Our server was Alec. He was friendly and attentive to our needs despite being so busy that night. The chef, Jo Jo, came to our table for a little chat and asked us how our food was! We will definitely visit again one day to try their "silogs" (fried garlic rice, fried egg, and your choice of protein).

Not your traditional Filipino menu. We ordered some appetizers and the wings and lumpia were good. We came for lunch and the menu was minimal and I had a hard time picking what I wanted to try because screamed at me on the menu. The food was okay, not great. Service was good but it wasn't crowded when we were there. I do wish it was more traditional Flilipino food. This location is 45 mins from our side of town and just not special enough to drive that far for it again. Worth a try if you're close by. Best tasting are the appetizers we ordered.

The food is delicious and the servings are generous. Chef takes the best of Filipino cuisine and adds a flair that is next-level. The dishes could easily be on the menu of a posh restaurant without the sticker shock. The staff are super helpful and friendly. They’ll make you feel at home. I’ve had their Kare-Kare, Sisig, and silog dishes. Although the presentation is playful the flavors stay authentic. Try it once and I’m sure you’ll get hooked like I am.
