We have been coming for years and this review is long overdue. Always clean and great service. You have got to love the BBQ EggRolls and Corn Nugget’s. We had a pulled pork sandwich and St Louis dry rubbed ribs. 4 bones equals 1/2 pound and I passed on the garlic toast and side to just fill up on the ribs and it worked. We had plenty for $38.00 plus tip and have a Togo container for later on. This place is always full for lunch so come early.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really yummy food! Great service even though we came late.

Not worth your time. Ordered the 2 meat platter with dirty rice and sweet potato, the menu listed this meal for $15.99 then when the total came the cashier stated it was $19.00 but did not inform of the extra charge to slice the meat. The dirty rice was not seasoned and very dry. The portions for the chicken are very small and not worth the price charged. I am very unhappy with the food and would not recommend this place to spend your hard earned money 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Decided to stop by last sat Oct 16 2021 for some lunch here before we went to the movies. Nice lil atmosphere with tv's, dim lights with black ceiling, plenty of booths and waitresses. when you walk in take out to the left and hostess on right. They do have a drive thru as well. We stood there for a few secs looking at the hostesses and then one of them seated us at the table. Our waitress was very nice. We both got the 16.99 sampler of chicken, ribs, pulled pork, toast with two sides and a big glass of water with lemon. Also got the eggroll appetizers with extra sauce. They were delicious and filling. They have bbq, mustard, sizzlin, etc. sauces on table to try on your food, salt, pepper and paper towels. Looked and smelled great. My chicken was good but husbands was a bit dry. Pulled pork not much flavor by itself but good with the sauces. Ribs we both loved and were tender. Toast was good but didn't like how they placed the bowl of green beans on top of toast. Just didn't seem sanitary to me, but understood that they prob didn't know where to place the toast on the full plate. Mac n cheese great. Green beans were bright green and good. Had a taste of onions and butter in it. It did bother me not 4 mins later after we got our food the waitress comes up and places our check on the table and says no rush. Even though it did bother me a bit cuz I didn't see anyone else with a check on there table like that.. still felt rushed, but still I let it go cuz she was a nice waitress And she kept checking on us every 5 mins it seemed like. But when it came down to us ready to pay my husband had to wave her to get her attention. Other people around us seemed to enjoy their meals as we did. We might visit again and like to try other meals on the menu.

Always consistent with their food and have great staff members. I always get my food in a timely manner whether in the drive through or the restaurant itself. Their pulled pork is amazing and always my favorite when I stop through. Their corn nuggets are also really good with ranch. I'm not sure if they make their own, but they have one of my favorite ranches! The food comes out quick and hot. You can tell they just made it!

Tim, our server is awesome! On point, checked in on us numerous times, made sure we stayed happy. The meats are good- I had some fatty ribs this time (unusual) & pulled pork- perfect. The sides though- why do you break my heart by discontinuing corn in the cob & basket potatoes? Why? Those were my go to sides for decades. & the mac is just not the same. And even though the menu says the corn nuggets are powdered sugared- they aren't UNLESS you ask! Just a tip.

Great place for pork, brisket, turkey, and some other items. They have a separate window for carry out orders which definitely makes it more efficient. They have some great deals on larger meals.

Went to sonny's bbq for Veterans Day meal with the family. Ordered the military special which happened to be a sliced or pulled pork sandwich big deal (comes with a side and drink). I chose the sliced pork sandwich on garlic bread (you can also choose a bun instead if you prefer) with crinkle fries and it was delicious. I hardly ever have a bad meal at sonny's. Sliced pork (sandwich or by itself) is usually my go to meal. Smokin' sauce is what I put on my pork and also on my fries (great alternative for ketchup). Service was excellent. One of my favorite restaurants. Definitely a try if you've never been.

Loaded tots were not loaded. We got cold tots and dried out pulled pork. No crispy onions, no queso and no BBQ sauce. Order of fries was cold. Disappointed!

Sonny's is my mom's favorite and I always take her for lunch or dinner when she visits. It's also a frequent spot for table fellowship after church on Sundays. I would've given a 5 for food had the brisket in my sandwich not been so fatty last time I ordered it. Have always had great servers. 🙂

I arrived a few minutes early, and there was a few people ahead of me when they opened. I ordered a Big Deal to go, and order came out pretty quick. I live just 8 minutes from the store, and when I got home everything was cold as ice. I've done this many times, and it's always good, and warm. But the meat and the beans were apparently never heated, and the garlic toast was cold, saturated with butter, smashed flat and just nasty. I knew it wasn't fresh and must have been left over from the night before. After paying almost $15 dollars for a meal unfit to eat, I was not happy. I've never had this problem, but for their cooks to send this out of the kitchen like this, is just lame, and lazy. Not sure if I'll be returning. Update to my review: Someone called me from Sonny's but I missed the call. I tried calling back 2 times and left messages, but never received a return call. Customer service doesn't seem to be a strong suit for this Sonny's. Sad, because I used to really like the food, when it wasn't rushed and done right. Too many bbq places to choose from that take the time and do bbq right.

Stopped last week on my way through Jax to have some BBQ. Always eat at Sonny's because it's consistent and I travel. The service I received from Beth was top notch! Attentive, sense of humor and really made my stop enjoyable. In a day and age of the "I don't give a damn mentality" Beth certainly over delivered!

Always a good time Sonny’s. Donna our waitress is fantastic. We specifically try requesting her. She makes the visit even better! A familiar face that feels like family! Go Donna! 👍👍👍

The food and staff at this location is outstanding. Sonny's is a partner of the NAL Champions, Jacksonville Sharks. Our coaching staff ate there every Thursday. Can't say enough about the staff. Would definitely recommend. Coach Gibson Jax Sharks

Sonny's is always a good favorite for lunch or dinner. There are some great smaller, local BBQ places but Sonny's has a very good consistency of food and service plus large portions. I will complain that the baked potato was replaced with baked sweet potato. Sweet potatoes are good but regular potatoes are better with BBQ. I got the sliced pork plate:. Big serving of pork with BBQ Beans and fries. Again, a personal preference of regular baked beans vs baked beans with BBQ sauce. Purely a regional difference of North vs South. All in all, a happy experience

Just okay. The okra was fantastic. The Ranch dressing had a distinct taste, like added mustard. My daughter liked it. The green beans were tasty. Ribs were okay, brisket was dry. Good enough, but not great. Kudos for offering to go cups for drinks.

Absolutely delicious! Service was great. Had a great variety of bbq sauces. I had the 3 meat special with ribs, beef brisket chopped, pulled pork with cole slaw, baked beans and corn bread!!! My Aunt had pulled pork, bbq chicken and ribs. She was pleaased with her meal also. Everything was delicious. I didn't like the arnold palmer ( half tea/half lemonade). For some reason, it tasted nasty to me and I couldn't put my finger on it. My mom had one and she liked it. Not sure why mine was different. But I went for the bbq and I was pleased with that. Can't wait to go back for more.

Meat dry, dark meat, rib dry asked for meaty and fatty. Asked. To have shade pulled down from the reflection from the car. The people sitting there wouldn't let the waitress pull it down all the way. I moved my seat. Waitress not her fault. However she never came over to see how everything was. But boy when she saw my charge card she snatched it up. Very disappointing. Never had an experience like this here. Maybe quite a while before I come back. Sweet potatoes great.

Always have a nice time at this location. Ms. Donna was a wonderful server and took care of me and my mother for our family lunch outing. Food was fresh as always and well made. Visit the Atlantic location if you want a true Sonny's BBQ experience.

This is for a catering order. I ordered a catering order for 30 people. The food that showed up was for maybe 20 people with small servings. I ended up having to go out and buy additional food. I dealt with the catering division. I reached out to them after the event to let them know how they didn’t deliver the correct amount of food and never heard back from them. Will never use or recommend them again.

Donna is wonderful! I had a delicious meal here. I was pleasantly greeted and sat right away. (15 minutes earlier, I was sat at a dirty table at Bono's in Town Center, waited 5 minutes for a waitress, then left. Their restaurant had one table with customers.) At Sonny's, though, the tables are clean and the portions are generous and delicious. (Their baby backs- so good!) It's a short drive to get there, but worth the time & effort. I'm bringing more of the family & friends next time.

I'm from Buffalo NY, where there's so so so much BBQ restaurants and trucks. This is my first time having BBQ here and I am NOT disappointed. I got the pulled pork mac bowl and ill definitely be returning! Very very good food.

Great service + food as always. Our server, Mary, was very patient, attentive, and had a wonderful sense of humor, even though it was very busy and she had several tables, one of which being a large party. It is rare for me to visit Sonny’s due to location, but I have never had a poor experience at this one.

Pulled pork was good, ribs were Great and the fries are always cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. Very bright lights above the booths so request a table if you have eye issues like I do.

Y'all still haven't reached back to me on my horrible experience at this so-called bbq place. You'll reply back on the reveiw but won't email me back after replying to your reply. What an unprofessional place of business, I don't recommend Sonny bbq. Better off going to Bonos BBQ. You can at least see the pit and get some delicious bbq from them. This is sad Sonny's. Reach back out, make this right

I had a wonderful experience at lunch today. Sydney, my server, was fabulous and had the best attitude, which made my dining experience even better. I came in and had been having a horrible day, but left in a great mood. The combination of delicious food and phenomenal service, completely turned my day around.

Big shout out to Sonny’s on Atlantic Blvd. I have to say this is one of my go to places for meal delivery. The food is always delicious whether it is the pulled pork, The St. Louis ribs, the corn nuggets down to the crack Nile cut fries fried to perfection. In particular, I absolutely love the care they show in packaging everything for delivery. Thank you and please keep up the great work. It is appreciated. Carmen Cruz

Ordered Sonnys Sampler. Missing a side and the brisket. The meat was so greasy it pooled in the corner of the container. Called to let them know they failed to include sides and requested sauces and was interrupted to ask my phone number for a "coupon". I don't need a coupon. Was told the two male managers working are really busy when I asked for a manager. This Sonnys is awful! Such a total waste of my money. LOOK at the bland mashed green beans and soup like fatty pulled pork.

Good country style dining. Country music playing. Several TVs to watch. Food served on metal plates. Had the pick 2. Pulled pork and dark meat chicken with baked beans and cole slaw with garlic bread.

My wife’s pulled pork came out in chunks with the consistency of a pork chop/roast. The rest that was shredded was stringy, leathery, and dry. The side would have trouble rivaling a box of craft mac. The sweet tea was watered down, lacked sugar, and was overall bad. My brisket sandwich was even more of an embarrassment. Forget about a pull test, the flat was so dry and tough I struggled to rip it with my teeth. Chewing was another story, as it had the consistency and texture of poorly made beef jerky. Awful. My choice of side was baked beans. At this point I after spending $35 plus on bbq, I was totally demoralized, and hungry… turns out the beans were worse than canned. Over cooked and tasted sour. Absolutely disgusting. I did however get the corn nuggets too, which were good. Not enough to make up for the disaster of a meal but for the sake of transparency that should be included. The garlic bread on my sandwich was good as well. Mission BBQ is fantastic however if anyone wants great BBQ!!

Always have a good dining experience here at Sonny's on Atlantic. Donna is wonderful!! There is teamwork among the staff. The food is delicious. My favorite is the smoked turkey. My mom loves the pulled pork and the ribs.

Went for lunch today and taylor was my server. She was so intensive and sweet. Never had a dull moment. She was on top of everything. If you want to be able to go out and enjoy your meal without an empty glass go see Taylor on Atlantic and girvin. I recommend the eggs rolls and get your wings FRIED. 👍 will be back again.
