I had a wonderful experience trekking here. It is a very short trek. It can be completed in one hour or max to max one and half hour. Depending on your fitness level. The view from the top is amazing. You can spend quality time here with your friends or family. It is also safe for kids. It was all sunny when I reached there on the top but the climate suddenly changed and it started raining heavily and everything became extra magical. This is a must-visit place for every nature and trek lover.

A very easy and amazing trek. Must start by 7 am from Mumbai. Reach there by 9 am. Start climb by 9:30. Reach on top by 11am. Chill for an hour and start downhill by 12. Reach down by 1:30. Drive 30 minutes to a nice dhaba and have lunch at 2 pm. Leave from there at 3 pm. Reach Mumbai by 4:30 pm. Breath-taking views from above.

No words for this fort.. Actually there is nothing much to explore on this fort but yes you will surely enjoy the view from the top of the fort. Not a big fort in height you can easily climb within an hour.. For best experience visit during monsoon.. It's a beautiful place to visit in rainy season but simultaneously take care while climb in rain due to sleepary path or else avoid in monsoon. For beginners it's truly a marvelous place to be.

Its a small trek of about 1.2 km and moderately steep and a simple trek when done in non-rainy season. Wouldn't know how it is during season as had not been here during rainy season. Location: it starts from Sondewadi base village located around 10 km from Karjat railway station, near the Morbi lake. Some of the nearby peaks such as that of Matheran etc can be seen from the top of the. Fort.

Great place for trekking in monsoon! It's a perfect spot for beginners. You can reach the top in about 1 hour, depending on your trekking speed. Once at the top, you'll be rewarded with an awesome panoramic view, providing a relaxing and peaceful experience. Additionally, there's a beautiful small temple to see. Just a friendly suggestion, guys: avoid starting your trek during the late afternoon unless you have a guide. It can get quite dark and challenging to find your way to the exit. My friend and I personally experienced this, and it took us plenty of time to get back.

Great place to go for a day trek. It is a beginner level climb. Not too difficult and not too long also. Needless to say that monsoon season is the best time to visit there. Can get slippery in heavy rains though. And not too mention crowded as well.

Really lovely trek. Highly recommended during monsoon. It was quite easy, any beginner could do it. It was also quite short. If you don't stop for photos or rests you could to the top in 30-40 minutes.

Easy to medium level trek with a serene view on the top. Good for beginners as duration is lesser and it's not as steep as it seems. Last part of summit has to be done barefoot since there's a temple on summit. You have refreshment corners at some tops of the trek till the summit. Overall, an 8/10 for a weekend trek in the rains.

Easy & simple trekπŸ‘ If you want to enjoy the scenery then don't go on weekends. This is the beginner level trek and also you can bring your kids here. It takes a maximum of 2 hours to reach the top. If you've done a sufficient amount of trekking then you can reach the top in 45 minutes. You can go by public transport from karjat as well.

Sondai is a short trek.. You can reach the top in 1.5 hrs . But ensure that your shoes are good especially in the monsoon as rocky patches are quite slippery , dangerous and treacherous. The last part has ladders which makes this part of the climb easy. It's not long but due to the steep gradient, and rocky difficult patches, it can prove fatal if not careful. So wouldn't call it beginners level. The views are stunning.. you can enjoy a lovely lake view and green cliffs all around. Very enjoyable, but be careful here guys!

It is a nice place for beginners trekkers. The trek is very easy & one can enjoy the good scenic beauty. Monsoon is the best season to visit this place. Sondai fort is just 50-60 km from Kalyan. Sondai is a situated around 9 km from Karjat in Raigad district. This is one of the super easy trekking destination for trekkers around mumbai pune karjat and raigar region. Overall time to complete the trek is also not much you can finish the trek within 2 hours very easily. From the summit of the Sondai Fort, one can get a clear and beautiful view of the Morba Dam, Prabalgad , Songiri , Rajmachi and Irshal forts and the Matheran mountain range. Overall it's an ideal one day hike in monsoon for new born trekkers and lot of photography and videography opportunities here.

Wonderful place to trek, especially in the monsoon! A relatively easy hill to climb, if you go in the non monsoon times. Rainy season gets it on a tougher level because of the puddles and slippery wet mud. But surely a fun experience! Bonus: Waterfall around as well!

Great place to visit , we visited in the month of July in monsoon season How to reach - take the train from Ghatkopar for Karjat and from Karjat you will get auto rickshaw which generally charges 150 per person one way .!! Trek is simple but with some tricky patches in between but the view is just awesome from the top , you will be in between the clouds .!! It’s approx 1 -1.5 hour climb and there is one good waterfall which is also worth visiting .! Overall a great trek for trek lovers

Sondai fort trek was an incredible experience! The trail was well-marked, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The lush greenery and scenic views along the way were breathtaking, making the journey enjoyable throughout. The climb to the fort's summit was moderately challenging but totally worth it once we reached the top. The panoramic view of the surrounding landscapes was simply mesmerizing, especially during rainy season. I highly recommend Sondai fort trek to all nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers!

Difficulty level Easy to moderate. Beautiful Path and since it's rainy in October first week when we have visited, the weather was beautiful. Beautiful valley with flower and greenery.

This place is a great place to visit in monsoons. What a green mountain! But the villagers of this place charge excessive and arbitrary parking fees from tourists coming from outside. Even taking it, a proper path to the fort was not made.

Great place for trekking in monsoon!! Absolutely stunning view of nature and waterfalls. Though it's called easiest trek and for beginners, it's not that easy. Starting from the sondewadi Village, the trail starts on a road going towards changewadi village. Once we reach the small bridge near the waterfall, ask the shop owners about the trail.the'll help in direction.. From there, the trail goes from Rocky patches and platues with multiple shops in between where one can rest and get a snack or maggi.also they always help with directions. At the end,we reach near top where 3 staircases come in way from which the surrounding view is absolutely beautiful ❀️.On top, there's Small temple of Sondai Devi where we can get some peace and blessings.

Sodai fort is one of the easiest yet most scenic trek out there near Mumbai region. It gets slippery till mid or end of the mansoon so better time to visit here is in the earlier mansoon period. If you have done treks before you will find it quite easy.

I have to say, this trek isn't so easy. I had a great time climbing up that mountain gazing at the beautiful view around. The sky was at its best that day✨ There is pretty much nothing on top of the mountain but once your eyes roll around, baby, you gonna fall in love with nature all over again. It was a beautiful day.

It's 9km far from karjat railway station. Rainy season is best time to visit. You will see nature's beauty here. trekking level is easy but if you are doing it first time then it's medium level. It will take 30 to 40 min to reach to the top. At starting point hotels are there for lunch or breakfast. Another point to see is lake which is nearby of fort.

Great and easy trek 10km from karjat -Main highlight part is that ladder part but trust me you will get bored at the top (near temple) -Intead of that part take a Right turn (before climbing ladder) and heads toward another point which is just 25 min away of that point. -that second peak is much more thrilling and difficult and hardly few people can reach there. -after completing that trek ,Do visit morbe dam. -Avoid weekend (very much crowded)

Great trek. Best trek for group. Difficulty level medium range to climb and too difficult to get down. I do not suggest anyone to go this fort due to slippery way in the rainy season. There is only one way to climb and down with steep slope. There is lots of risky patches. If u miss this do or die situation. Only 1.5 hrs trek. You can visit only on weekends.

Sondai fort is a short trek and it takes about 45 & 30 mins for an average trekker to ascend and descend respectively, moreover on your way up you’ll see lakes (morbe dam) & much more also it is an easy trek with one risky patch and one can definitely consider this one to begin with.πŸ₯‚

When I 1st visited this place back in 2019 it was like an Offbeat trekking location with zero stalls on the fort and very less crowd but now it has become so popular due to it's easy level grade that it become over crowded and has become a picnic spot. Now it has many stalls enroute. Don't go here on weekends atleast, if you want to go then go on a weekday. There is also a Waterfall at a 10-15 mins walking distance from the start point of the trek.

  • 5/5 Siddhant J. 6 months ago on Google
Beautiful trek.. however it's not as easy as some of the comments. Especially if you go for trekking rarely. Might be a little difficult for beginners. Good parking space. Google's location is accurate. ~1 hr to climb.

  • 4/5 Niraj R. 9 months ago on Google
A nice place for a one day hike, very easy 90 mins climb. However Going on weekend would be crowded and there are sections on trail which gets bottled necked especially the ladder. Over all good hike for beginners

A short and simple trek which is good enough for beginners. There are a couple of slippery patches so be careful if it's raining. Pretty safe otherwise. The view of the dam and the reservoir is breathtaking ❀️

  • 5/5 Shubham M. 2 years ago on Google
It's easy to medium trek... you'll get best out of this place in monsoon.... beginners should try this one you won't regret it...also there's a waterfall 5min ahead of the fort...do visit that also.

One of the best places I have been so far. It is located at 3680 ft. Well if you are a first-time trekker then it will be challenging for you. One thing to remember before going to this place is the Weather condition, it is dangerous when it's raining very heavily, you'll miss the scenes because of the fog, and the rocks are very slippery, so make sure to wear gripped shoes. It will be a memorable experience for you. Good Luck!
