Perfect monsoon trek and trail for panaromic views surrounded by water bodies and waterfalls consisting of river crossing in between. One can start from Bhivpuri Station and Diksal will be base village. Trek and trail with medium grade and takes around 3.5 hrs to reach at plateau. From plateau it takes around an hour to reach at Garbett peak. One can complete trek from Matheran to save time and avoid long route. Specially in monsoon, panaromic views are too adorable and worth witnessing. Approx 11 km of trek from Bhivpuri to Garbett Point. Trek Route:- Bhivpuri Station> Dhom lake> Diksal Waterfall > Garbett Plateau > Garbett Point > Matheran

Amazing location with mesmerising views. Reaching to the point can be little long and enduring for non trekkers, but the path is fairly easy. I took the Matheran route. Once you reach dasturi naka, walk along the toy train tracks towards Matheran for approx 1 km. There is a snacks and tea stall near a β€˜2 rasta’, taking a left from the stall puts you on a trail towards the Garbutt point. Its approx 2.5-3 km walk from the tea stall. Just follow the trail straight and you can reach the point. The trail and the Garbutt point is generally not crowded and isolated. Although you can find some locals along the path. Avoid visiting in the afternoon as it can get quite sunny and there is hardly any shade. Best time to visit is during early morning and during rains.

Garbett Point is one of the easiest treks (during monsoons) during non-monsoons, it's hot and there's very little shade to keep you cool. The trail is easy but steep and hence takes a lot of energy to climb (making it very tiring during hot and humid conditions). But the view on top is just amazing. Garbett Point, by trek is a few minutes climb from Garbett Pleateu. From this point you can see the entire Garbett Pleateu, Matheran mountain range, Sondai Fort, Dhom Dam and Morbe Dam. The view is just too good for your eyes, monsoons bring in different shades of green and huge waterfalls gushing down the entire Matheran range. The trek can be done from Bhivpuri Road Station. There are few stalls on the plateau selling water and some refreshments.

We had an amazing experience time on this trek with a very knowledgeable guide who really explained a lot of things about the natural park and showed us so many beautiful things the place was full of beautiful sceneries and really such a great feeling being in the lap of nature like Lush green environments, beautiful lake, wildlife, and birds this trail has a mix of all. Well organised and safety measures looked into and you can stay there for a day like a camping and do campfire with ur group and enjoy the time with Nature

Lovely trek with amazing views. Especially during monsoons it’s beauty is at the peak. The greens all around simply mesmerise you. Trail is easy with few steep patches in between but all the effort is worthwhile. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing place for a night trek. Did this short trek at night with a trekking group. Would recommend going with a group rather than exploring alone since the path is a little difficult to find especially at night. Please do carry torches. At the top of the plateau we waited for sunrise. Slept on the top for 1hr as we reached around 5.15-5.30am after trekking for 3 hrs. Great place to setup a tent or a bonfire while waiting for a sunrise. There is a village midway which serves maggi and has toilets for women. Went in Dec 2022 and was a bit chilly at night

The plateau is good for new hikers but it's not that thrill and awesome the way many of the people have explained it. The best part of this hike is not after the hike it is actually the walk through the dense forest, in this forest you can actually see many different birds listen to their sweet sound. It is a good place if you want to camp here but I think u can find some great places around this region to camp which are more good than this place

Extremely picturesque location. The trek is a medium trek, which requires quite a bit of walking. The views along the way are brilliant. Start point of the trek is walkable from the bhivpuri railway station. The best way to experience this is to start at bhivpuri, reach the plateau, and end at matheran. You'll get Cabs from matheran to neral station, from where you can take a train back to Mumbai.

Excellent place if you are ready to hike a bit! Rarely crowded, this off beat track is a pleasure to venture on a cloudy day:) Fairly unmarked routes we had to ask people around. No stalls or eateries on the way which also means no monkeys around....carry your own grub and enjoy in peace!!Gorgeous, unbeatable view from the top.

A very peaceful edge of the world. And the journey will be much better than it. Around 2 km tracking in jungle and at the end this destination will set unforgettable memories for your life. Early morning should be the perfect timing to enjoy the best Sunrise from this peak point of Matheran. Evening time can be okay.

An easy level 1 day trek that starts from Bhivpuri station and ends at Garbett point, Matheran. Camping can be done near dom lake or garbett platue. Best season for trek are monsoon and winter.

An isolated place, with no one around, nothing to eat or drink on the way, a very nice space to put up tents for a night and stay if traveling with large group. We can either climb up from lake & reach up after a moderate trek or walk from Matheran on an easy trek. The space is mesmerising in rains & untouched by tourists.

So that's my 4th time where I visit every year to check my endurance for the season.... Start early morning to avoid rush... but still it's a offbeat trek....

One of the best monsoon treks I did. There is a beautiful waterfall to plunge. The landscapes are beautiful. The hike is not so challenging but is long. Once you reach the plateau you forget all the efforts.

Garbett plateau and Garbett point is one day trek , located in the hill range of Matheran. Drive from Powai is around 70 km . You can park car in Bhootiwali village and trek from there . It’s a beautiful trail , waterfalls and rivulets adorn the place , Climb to Garbett point is a bit tough in rains but is doable . Sights from the top is mesmerising.. Highly recommended.!!!

Place is full of experience. The level of trekking is intermediate. It takes 15 min to reach at base from Bhivpuri station. At start point you will see dom lake. Then you will have to cross the waterfall to reach other side of mountain. It takes hardly 3 hrs to reach at top. In monsoon the place is full of greenery. But don't visit when there is heavy rainfall as the way will be too slippiry. It is little difficult but the top view from the point will be worth for efforts you will put while climbing.
