Food was good but not worth the price. The customer service was excellent, plating was nice, but the price killed me. $40 for 5 prawn dumplings that (to be honest) were 3/5 and probably closer to small than medium/large sized. Disappointed with the amount of greens to go with too - barely any :(

Amazing breakfast and service. Relaxing atmosphere for a breakfast after a stroll on the beach. Have an awesome bar for lunch time vibes. Will definitely be back

Came in the afternoon around 3, was very quiet. Ordered from the cafe, they gave us the wrong drink, and wouldn’t let us dine in. Terrible experience. Young boy came to give us our order but was pulled back by other staff member and sat our order on the counter. We got up to collect the order and the lady immediately farewelled us, making us aware we weren’t welcome to sit and eat. The beverage we ordered was put in a takeaway cup on purpose. Had to sit outside 50m away in the rain to eat.

I recently had a wonderful lunch at Cafe Catalina! The food was spectacular and perfectly suited the gorgeous water views. The balmain bug roll was the best I've ever had and the seafood chowder was delicious and incredibly generous! It was full to the brim with the freshest prawns, mussels, squid, fish and even scallops. If you're a fan of Bloody Marys I suggest you order one or two - they are so tasty - savoury and spicy just how I like them. I can't recommend this cafe enough - enjoy!

I love the poke bowl and you can choose additional toppings, I chose the chicken karage. It is very nice and beautiful looking bowl however there's only 3 pcs of small karage in it. My partner ordered a breakfast burger. It has haloumi, egg, bacon, lettuce and tomato. We've also ordered coffee and it's really nice . I gave 5 stars for the atmosphere because it is in front of the beach and also it is doggy friendly. We managed to get our frenchy with us and there's other cute doggies there too. I have included the pic of the toilet because it is very clean lol. For a Sunday there was heaps of parking near the restaurant. I would definitely come back again 😀

OMG I wish we discovered Cafe Catalina earlier in our holidays. Food was amazing, service was amazing and the view was great. Do yourself a favour and try the hash browns they were delish. Well done on creating a great place to dine. We will definitely be back on our next holiday 🤩.

Felt a bit ripped off. Only ordered two coffees and a banana bread and got charged $31 on my card. Over $30 for 3 items that aren’t even proper breakfast?! Service is slow when entering the place, the sign says wait for host and yet no one comes to the front so I made my way inside and seated myself. Coffee is not the best and the assortment of cakes at the front - there’s only like 3 different options plus old looking pastries that don’t look very appealing. Banana bread was ok, not properly warmed up. 2 stars for ok timing for serving our coffees and nice location.

Fantastic position with great staff. The food (Eggs Benny with Mushrooms & Brekky Burger) was excellent too! Bring your dog inside as well for the leftovers- very large servings.

Went here for breakfast twice during a recent holiday to the Gold Coast. The breakfast burger and big breakfast were both quite nice. Of note, they let one of the members at our table (who recently had surgery and couldn’t eat too much) order from the ‘Under 12’ menu. We had gorgeous weather and spectacular views for one visit. On the second visit, an overcast day, the outdoor seating area was still quite nice. Good service took a bit longer on our first visit (table for two) but on the second visit (table for five) it was quite prompt. Paid parking is available and we found one to two hours was appropriate.

Excellent venue and menu. Second time in four years and the quality and staff are still great. I'm a Catalina flying boat fan so the pictures and the view strike a chord? View from the apartment opposite.

Went for a coffee ☕. Was nice coffee and nice service from the lady working. Was a quiet afternoon but coffee still took a while to come out but was worth it was a nice coffee.

Phoned and was told to make a booking as they were very busy. When we arrived for lunch there were 3 other tables seated. During the 20 minutes we sat at our table with no service 3 more tables arrived. Not what I would call busy at all. We chose to leave after 20 minutes of sitting at our table with our menus as no one had approached us to take our order. I spoke to a staff member when leaving and was informed I should have raised my hand to get service. Haha really? Judging on the prices of the lunch menu I should not have to beg one of the many staff wandering around to take my order. Lovely spot with nice views and love the fact it was dog friendly but their lack of service was shocking. I cannot rate the food as we didn't try it.

The staff were all friendly, happy & helpful. The food was delicious, plentiful & the presentation was amazing. The coffees were presented differently with a different design in each person’s froth. The Catalina cater for Vegetarians, which was appreciated. The champagne was cold, bubbly & the staff kept the remainder of the champagne in the bar fridge & topped-up our glasses without us needing to ask. The view of the water is magnificent. We spent a few hours there & we did not feel as though we had to eat & run, so to speak, because we were allowed to sit, eat, drink & chat with long time friends, who we hadn’t seen since prior to COVID-19. The experience was fantastic……thank you Catalina & your magnificent staff 😊🥂

Fantastic service by all the staff and the food was delicious. Sashimi was 5 star quality and I would recommend trying the chips with curry sauce. I am already planning a trip back to Cafe Catalina.

Beautiful cafe with amazing views and good vibes. Poke bowl was a 3/5 - it was too dry and the flavours could be improved. Bao buns had nice flavours but the portions were too small for the price. Service was very slow and subpar. While I still need to try their main dishes, this cafe is a staple of the Southport restaurant / pub scene.

Really happy with our experience here. My wife and I took our large breed dog for an early dinner. The wait staff were super friendly and welcoming, even bringing a bowl of water and snacks over for our dog. The food was also excellent. We had the barramundi and the chicken & mushroom gnocchi and I couldn't fault it. Probably the best gnocchi I've had in a long time.

The food was good, although portion sizes very small. The service was great coming back to ask if we needed any more drinks or wanted desert. Food was slightly overpriced. Views are fantastic!

Had a lunchtime party here today for a family of 10. Overall enjoyable food, well presented and we had efficient table service. A great outlook to the Broadwater adding to the success of the day. One small issue asked to split a dozen oysters to 6 of each style of the 2 on the menu. Told had to pay 6 Oyster price twice not the Dozen price once. Did not spoil the day just a consideration perhaps for kitchen and owners to take on board. See you again.

Finally managed to check this place out, after saying I would for years and years. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement! For starters, I always thought it was just a little breakfast cafe… it is so much more than that. It’s much larger than I imagined with both a large indoor and even bigger outdoor area. Live music, dog friendly and a great view of the Broadwater makes for a great venue. Had the eggs Benedict as that’s my go to brekkie. For the price, I expected more to be honest and the cutlery makes for a less than elegant attempt at eating lol. Trying to cut the sourdough with the given butter knife was a nightmare 😞 Definitely keen to try their lunch/dinner menu.

Came down for Sunday breakfast, only had to wait 5 mins for a table, sat in the perfect spot overlooking the water. Food was really tasty, I had the fruit bowl, the yogurt panacotta was zingy and went perfectly with everything. Dog friendly which is an added bonus!

On entry there is a nice wide ramp suitable for prams, wheel chairs, wheelie walkers and dare I say Mobility Scooter. Looking at the meals being delivered by the wait staff was fresh and colourful. I had the S & P Calamari with a Rocket Salad. My meal was lovely but for me as someone who is not a huge seafood eater the menu is very seafood orientated so left me with little choice. The staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly and very accommodating, as a person a disabilities that can be hard to come buy. All the bathrooms on the premises are Wheelchair friendly. If you're seafood lover I highly recommend a visit!

Had breakfast here on Sunday and was pleasantly surprise by the ambiance right on the Broadwater the quality of the food we ate and the service. If you are in the area if might be worth a look in .

I have eaten breakfast here often. It never disappoints. This morning I tried the pea and ricotta fritters, which were simply divine.

Booked for mothers day, photos looked good and showed out door area for casual dining/casual family atmosphere, thought it would be good for our family with young toddlers/kids. Unfortunately they did not tell us this is no longer the case, there was no grass area it was filled with tables. Food was nice, but menu was now smaller then the menu on google. Small things yes but still disappointing for a planned outing on a busy day.
