My husband and I recently relocated to New Bern and decided to try Beartown last night. We should have gone sooner!! The food was amazing!!!! Shrimp and Grits and Hot Honey Pizza...oh and don't forget the banana dessert!!!! All 3 were delicious!!! Enough leftover to have again for lunch today!! Sat at bar and barmaid was awesome!! Also met the owner who made us feel like long time customers. Looking forward to becoming regulars and trying many more things on the menu. Run, don't walk to Beartown!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

So two things, first IDK who didn't rate this place a 5 star lol. Second, who didn't give this a 5 star review. I am very judgmental person with restaurants and this is legit, the best place we've been too in the year and a half we've been in NC. Personally I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the NASTY BURGER, it is amazing. We will be back for sure. We had a huge group and between all of us we had over half the menu, noone gave less than 5 starts on any item or appetizers!

We tried three things. The bang bang shrimp was cooked beautifully. It was very tender. However, it was layered with so much sauce. The sauce was tasty, but it covered the shrimp like a really heavy blanket. If it had been tossed in the sauce and then plated, I would have given 5 stars. I tried the Brussel sprout salad, the combination of flavors was wonderful. I wished it had broken strips of crispy bacon instead of those soft, real bacon bits. If the bacon was crispy on the salad, it would be a 5 star salad. As a recommendation from our waitstaff, we tried pulled pork Mac, which was very good. The BBQ sauce was on the sweet side. I ate around the sauce, since it was drizzled on the top. The crispy onions were just right. It paired well with the Brussel sprout salad. With a couple of changes, I would have gone with 5 stars.

Our family absolutely loves Beartown! We happened upon this many years ago on our way back from the beach and now we try to stop there anytime we are in the area. Their pizzas are fantastic and we look forward to seeing what speciality dishes they have on the menu at any given time. Just writing this review is making my mouth water! The staff is very friendly and always make you feel welcomed and at home. The atmosphere isn't anything to write home about, but it is clean and comfortable. Looking forward to our next meal at Beartown!

The Setup if you’re a first timer is a bit confusing there’s a back area that’s loud and chaotic but decoratively up to date and signs telling you to go there then you find the front area it’s dated and faded but quiet and very clean. There’s lots of staff on hand and service was great in helping us find where to go to get seated. There’s wine, beers and cider on tap and a great menu with a wide variety of options. Went with Buffalo wings(their kind of small and expensive for 6 wings $6.85 skin isn’t crispy but flavor was good, roasted Brussel sprout salad which sounded fantastic was trying not to have high hopes and it came and was absolutely even better tasting and blew my high hopes out of the park, good spring leaf lettuce no cheap iceberg bacon, roasted tomatoes and Brussels sprouts it was very filling. Also tried the pizza w pepperoni onions and green peppers was also excellent. Everything was better then I was expecting and the prices outside of the wings which are pricey everywhere right now were very reasonable. We will definitely visit again on our travels and recommend to friends.

We were visiting and ordered a few different pizzas. The gyro one was unique and awesome. First time I have ever had anything like that one. The bbq one was also awesome. Would definitely order this again!

My family came here for dinner this past weekend. They had recently added a bar and larger dining area. It gave a sportsbar feel. Our waitress was on top of everything and there was no long wait for our food The food was delicious and a good portion. We loved everything we ordered. The calamari & spinach dip were a great start. The lemon Fresca scampi was amazing. And if you still have room for dessert I recommend the chocolate cheesecake for something sweet but not too sweet. I definitely want to come back the next time in town
