Aquarium is located at the lower level of the mall. Good place to take little kids if they get bored and a nice place to walk around if shopping break is badly needed. The aquarium has a decent amount of sea creatures and few reptiles on display. I love the underwater tunnel it feels very tranquil and relaxing. There's also an interactive area for kids to touch some star fishes and anemone. I recommend using the bathroom there as well as it's less crowded and more cleaner.

Nice experience for the children. The tunnel was great. No line and not much of a crowd. (We visited on Sunday). Staff was nice. 4 stars instead of 5 because there were many hand sanitizing stations that didn’t work. Nonetheless the children enjoyed the experience. Nice variety of sea life to see.

Its $33 for an adult ticket with photo including tax. Kids 2 and under are free. It's quite expensive, especially considering it took about 1.5 hours to go through the entire thing. The above glass aquarium you walk through is very cool. My 2 year old enjoyed the interactive part of touching the sea urchins and star fish. There are bathrooms available which were clean. It's all automatic and there are only air hand dryers. Overall we really enjoyed it. It's just more expensive than I expected.

Highly recommend! We had the most fantastic time at Sea Life located in the Mall of America just two days ago when we celebrated my daughter's birthday there. I had purchased the tickets in advance, and our experience was nothing short of incredible. If it's your first time visiting, I wholeheartedly recommend booking the full package (the prices are available online). This comprehensive deal includes admission, free digital photos, a 45-minute behind-the-scenes excursion where you get to explore the lab, the vet area, and even a peek above the pool, plus a virtual reality experience. The whole visit was not only fun but also highly educational. We were amazed by the diversity of marine life on display, and the way the exhibits are designed makes you feel like you're in an underwater wonderland. The kids were absolutely mesmerized by the beautiful and exotic sea creatures, and we all learned something new about marine life. What really stood out was the behind-the-scenes tour. It's a unique opportunity to see how the experts take care of the animals, and our guide was not only knowledgeable but also great with kids. The virtual reality added an exciting twist to the whole experience, making it an immersive adventure. The staff at Sea Life were friendly and helpful throughout our visit, and we felt safe and well taken care of. The free photos were a wonderful keepsake to remember our memorable day. In conclusion, our visit to Sea Life was an unforgettable experience that combined fun, education, and adventure. If you're looking for a fantastic family outing or a unique way to celebrate a special occasion, Sea Life at the Mall of America is a must-visit destination.

It was a lot of fun. Tons of different fish to see. We loved walking through the aquarium tunnel. Having the shark swimming over our head was super awesome. The staff were very friendly and told my kids loads of Interesting facts about the fish. It is a little spendy but we enjoyed it.

We had a great time here! You wouldn't think something so cool and so big would be in a Mall...?! But it is a really nice aquarium! For me the tunnel is the highlight; with several different water environments (freshwater, saltwater, etc...) on display. Sharks, fish, turtles...you name it, it's here! They've got jellys, sea horses, rays, many other types of fish, creatures and sharks... The ray tank is for viewing only (no touching), but there is a pool you can touch the sea anemones. Definitely worth the visit... will definitely be back the next time I'm in Minnesota!

We did the backstage door for a field trip at my kids school and it was amazing! Both of our guides were very knowledgeable and fun, keeping the kids engaged the entire time!! I would definitely recommend this as it's probably my tenth time through the tube and it never gets old having sharks swim all around you and getting, what feels like, inches away from your face!

  • 4/5 Jason P. 3 years ago on Google
Really like this place. Little on the small side for what you pay to get in. The aquarium tunnel is very cool. If you can see the sharks getting fed that is an awesome experience. Been back a few times and will probably go again.

The experience was pretty nice but the amount of people was not ideal. We went on a weekend so it makes sense for it to be busy but it was quite uncomfortable. You had to wait a bit to get through the line, definitely no distancing if that is a concern to someone. You start with some caged animals and insects. The big large tunnel with water overhead was our favorite part. They was a giant room of jellyfish tanks and also a nice sealife "petting" area. They also have a gift shop at the end.

First visit! The go at your own pace experience is nice, no real rush. Would have been nice to have a bench or a seat to be able to just sit and watch the animals for a few minutes. The music is amazing and tranquil, so relaxing. Would be nice to have a few places to stop and watch documentaries or informative shows about the sea creatures and animals. The interactive tanks at the end were very neat but a variety of sea creatures would be great. Very expensive and won't likely visit again.

Friendly acknowledgeable staffs. Great for families, friends and couples. Variety of sea and land species. Sea turtle/s, many kinds of sharks, lion fishes, stingrays, tropical fishes, jelly fish area, alligator, frogs, spiders, resting/picnic area. Gifts shop. etc… Little enjoyed it so much every time we visit .

Such a beautiful and informational attraction on the bottom floor of the MoA. The main trail down to the underwater tunnels are filled with various river flora and fauna including gators, piranhas and other fish, but the main focus is definitely the water tunnels. The lighting and ambiance makes you feel like you are under the sea observing the quiet and darkness the various aquatic species seem to use for camouflage. The shark tank was my favorite and I took a really awesome pictures there. As you exit there is a vibrant room filled with jellyfish that I just stood in and reviled in the colors and sights.

We went the day after Christmas which was a very busy day. The aquarium tunnel was the coolest part of everything. It was so awesome seeing sea life swimming literally right above you. You could see the animals from a different point of view then when you are just seeing them straight on at an aquarium. I didn't like how the tour started though where everything was very slow. It wasn't an open area but more so a path through a rainforest. What happened is it was so congested that it was a single file line that moved very slow. Then, when you got to different spots that were more interactive- you felt rushed because everyone behind you was getting impatient. When the aquarium part of the tour started- it opened up a bit. People were able to move around each other and weren't just stuck in a line. Overall though, amazing experience. Would definitely do it again just not on a busy day.

I absolutely love this aquarium, bigger than what I expected and me and my family had a great time! You'll learn something about our oceans and jungles with plenty to see and the tunnel area is worth the price of admission alone.

  • 5/5 Cassie E. 4 years ago on Google
Very neat aquarium. We went early when it open had no crowd. The family had a blast here and enjoyed all the exhibits. Love the tunnels under the fish and sharks. Kids loved getting right up close to see them. Did the sea life and Nickelodeon combo package and that worked out great for us.

I wouldn't recommend to go on the weekend because it was completely sold out and see life isn't as great as it was when I was younger when they were a lot more fishes and things to be involved in and it seems like it's just not like that anymore

I love the ocean, and the Sea Life aquarium was the highlight of my trip to MoA! Great, informative exhibits, and a super-fun gift shop! Friendly, helpful staff! The jellyfish and shark exhibits were my favorite, but I enjoyed them all!

Awesome under the aquarium tunnel, lots of sharks, stingrays and other cool fish. A little pricey but well worth the visit. Must be very expensive to maintain the very large aquariums. That's right, you can walk right through the aquarium with a very thick polycarbonate transparent tunnel! Many smaller cylinder aquariums for seahorses, jellyfish and other beautiful saltwater fish.

It's was a great time. The exhibits are cool. Fun for all ages. I took alot of pictures I hope they add a few more things to the touch area that was a bit of a let down. The staff were super great with information on the creatures

Highly recommend getting the behind the scenes pass on top of the regular admission ticket. Such a cool way to learn more about each animal while going though the day to day routine of the staff to ensure the habitat for the animals are ideal and the sea creatures are able to thrive. My tour guides was Sal and Alex and they were amazing! Super friendly and VERY knowledgeable! Definitely a must see.

We had a great time Sea Live. Spent most it the time in the sea tunnel. So amazing to see such large animals in the fish tank. Very spacious and would be easy for a stroller or wheelchair. Don’t feel like you are in a mall.

Summary: low entertainment value per dollar We decided to visit for teacher appreciation week as I got in free with my badge and our 1 year old was free so we only paid for 1 ticket for about $20. My 4 year old commented that is was boring while the one year old seemed to enjoy the tour. That being said we were through in about 30 minutes. There were some awesome tunnels and exhibits but for the price I would recommend the zoo over sealife which has great alternative activities such as little play structures. If at the mall I'd recommend Crayola world for the 4 year old age! Edited to add: staff was very pleasant and the facility was well maintained. I can and do understand the charges from a business perspective. If your children live in the area and come on a regular basis I would recommend an annual pass as that is a better value.

It was pretty decent attraction while in the MOA, overall it wasn’t too big or too small just enough to take up about half hour of your time specially with kids. The tunnel was great as you see a different perspective of the sea life & how they move around. I would def take my time walking & looking at every animal as it goes by quick.

My favorite part is the Moon Jelly fish display. I just found out today when you buy a ticket it is good all day . The tunnels are amazing and very relaxing on a weekday when the crowds are small.

We've been to Sea Life a couple of times, but we recently did the Behind the Scenes tour and it did not disappoint! We went on a Sunday morning, first tour (11 am). There was only our family of four and two other people. It was so much fun being able learn about how the aquarium is managed, animals are fed and vetted, and so much more. We were able to get up close to some of the animals when we went on the upper deck. The sharks were very interested in us, which was super cool. We purchased the bundle package and toured the aquarium after. It also included the VR experience, which everyone enjoyed. I HIGHLY recommend the Behind the Scenes tour at Sea Life!

Fun place. Not much of anything has changed over the years. Staff were minimal and not available for questions throughout the experience. I feel in the past there were staff employees walking through the tunnel to answer questions. Minimal life in touch tank, feel there was more years back. I liked the tubes in the displays, nice features to get more experience from different angles. Very dated restrooms that need to be cleaned more often! I will probably seek out other aquariums in future, or stick to the MN zoo, especially when taking into account the price point of this attraction!

  • 4/5 Nicholas W. 3 years ago on Google
Great experience still, they have made areas in which your group can walk.(although they should probably be enforced better) Overall the experience was still very much the same as when it was before covid even the touch pool still exist you just have to wear a mask the whole time you're there. Which is perfect. Overall it's really fun and a great adventure for all ages that's a great time to go and see sea animals and fish that I've never seen before all in a in closed tube that I get to see over my whole head. Would recommend at least once!

A decent Aquarium, I have enjoyed the place. There are many different varieties of fish and other sea species considering the size of the place you will find a wide range of sea life.If you compare it to Shedd or GA aquarium it sure seems pretty small but considering the space its in I thought it was good. We spent around 3hrs and it was fun. On a winter day this would be a perfect spot to spend a few hours with family. Kids will sure enjoy the place. There are a couple of spots where you can touch the fish which is cool and kids would enjoy it. The price isn't that bad either.

Sea life gives you a great snorkel experience for people who can't afford a luxurious undersea vacation. I saw Giant Sea turtles, Sharks, and fish. I think it is a great experience for children and adults. I would highly recommend taking your time as you walk through!

A very cool place, the ray room was closed due to covid-19. But with coupons, three people was 45.

  • 2/5 coyote311 3 years ago on Google
The customers refuse to wear masks while going through the exhibit and the employees do not enforce anything. For the extraordinary cost of this exhibit I would expect to at bare minimum be kept safe. If you value your health skip this place as it is not worth the very high price both financially and physically.

  • 4/5 Fahad A. 3 years ago on Google
It’s a beautiful place and the location is perfect so you can book tickets and walk in the mall before or after the visit and it is in the heart of the mall which is the biggest mall in America. We enjoyed our time there, worth the visit. I gave 4 stars because I wish if they had more things to see. I think it was beautiful but few things to see.

It was fun! Just with COVID it was difficult and a little anxiety ridden going through the aquarium tunnel because not everyone cared to social distance or wear masks correctly. Otherwise I felt like they tried really hard to keep as many attractions and they could while being safe.

The environments these creatures are kept in are far too small. It takes no time at all to go through, even when you stop to read everything.....of course there was at least 4 or 5 area with "closed" signs. Definitely not a value for full price paid, or even discounted price with the way it is now. Only had one employee offer up any information about anything. We also had a reserved spot for feeding the rays and never got to. Just disappointed overall. Very little varieties of species to see.

  • 5/5 Chris M. 3 years ago on Google
Its definitely an experience for the family. Its in the basement of Mall of America. You just follow the path and see the whole exhibit until you loop back around to the escalators. Its not all sea animals there are some insects, frogs, spiders, ect.

  • 5/5 Roberto R. 3 years ago on Google
I loved the sharks! Many people were not wearing masks inside and were not doing a good social distancing. The sea life aquarium was a great experience. I would say there are many species of aquatic Life in the middle of Mall of America.

  • 5/5 Logan A. 3 years ago on Google
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! We absolutely loved this facility, they are taking COVID procedures great! Lots of convenient hand sanitizer stations everywhere, recommendations of being 6 feet apart. Sad we couldn’t purchase shrimp for the sting ray’s but understand, and there was no option to get your photo taken. Never gets old, the prices weren’t bad for everything there. They keep the tanks so beautiful, it truly is one of a kind experience. I haven’t been there since I was a kid so to be there again was awesome. The staff was very knowledgeable and just very kind and impressive. We will be back soon.

I absolutely love aquariums! There were some really interesting sea life & a wide array of different types of fish. The jellyfish area was the best for me though, very beautiful to see. Was a little disappointed because I assumed it would be larger than it was seeing the mass size & how many floors the mall has. Not sure the esthetics of the building structure of course, so unsure if a multi level aquarium was even an option. But overall still enjoyed this attraction & would definitely recommend to other.

Amazing aquarium right in the middle of one on the biggest mall. The aquarium is very well maintained. The sea life tunnel I really good and provide a surreal experience walking beneath the enormous sharks, turtle and fishes. There are opportunities to be closer to the marine life, do check their website for latest details and programs. Numerous photo opportunity in the aquarium.

Small but has a good variety of creatures! We bought tickets online as a timed entry. We’ve been here lots of times, this time was quiet and not very many people so it was way more enjoyable. A bit pricey, over $50 for 1 adult and 1child.

Overpriced for local folks, but if you are visiting from out of town it might be worth it. One star taken off for the price and another 2 taken off because they got rid of the stingray touch pool and made other changes when Sea Life took over from Underwater Adventures. Made it much less interactive and fun. Used to be such an amazing place. I worked there 20 years ago and even had our wedding reception there. Now, it is nothing like it used to be and it is incredibly overpriced for what you get. I know that place inside and out and why they decided to make all these changes is beyond me.

So very impressed by this place and their staff. They are working very hard to ensure a fun and safe place to bring your kids. They exceeded my expectations with cleanliness/COVID precautions and cleaning. They have time slots to ensure it does not get overcrowded, spacing stickers on the floor, staff wiping down surfaces/ especially places on the glass where the kids touch, and bathrooms were so clean. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. I hope Management sees this review and shares it with their staff. Excellent work everyone! We appreciate a fun and safe place to visit during this tough time.

Amazing. Cant believe this is in a mall. So much more than just an aquarium. Petting area, insects, and under water tunnel. Beautiful and educational. Not just for kids but adults too. Total worth it.

I haven't had this much fun in a long time! The exhibits were amazing and great care was taken to make them educational and interesting for any age. Walking under the glass roof watching the fish and sharks was my favorite part. I'm so happy we decided to go!

  • 2/5 Karly W. 3 years ago on Google
We went this afternoon and while the aquarium is cool, we were next to a large group of 6 parents and 5 kids that were not following safety protocols at all. Not waiting to enter exhibits or social distancing and frequently taking off masks. Employees came by several times to wipe surfaces and clearly saw them but did not address it. It was super uncomfortable and really ruined the experience. I can't see how they would allow such a large group to be together in the first place. It is pretty expensive so that was a huge disappointment! It is clean and you can see they have a system in place to mitigate risk, however employees will not enforce the rules. All you can do is hope you are near responsible people!

This was a pleasant respite to the hustle and bustle of the massive mall overhead. Restless toddlers could easily be quelled by the sights of sharks swimming overhead and starfish within arms reach. I visited during COVID so there was hardly any wait time between exhibits. I went alone for $25 (no military discount) and realized it could get pricy if you have multiple children & adults. There's a "petting zoo" at the end of the tour where visitors can gently touch an assorted variety of underwater creatures-all the children enjoyed this feature and were guided by helpful park rangers.

Great experience our 6 year old loved every minute, for the price it wasn't long enough, but the guy holding the snake saved my experience. He didn't have stand there and educate anyone but he was because he truly enjoyed being there. Great experience id recommend to anyone. Staff was outstanding, kind, and courteous.

  • 5/5 Rachel S. 3 years ago on Google
I had such a fun time here!! The tunnel is amazing and the info is really cool. Of course, my favorite was the touch pool (kid at heart) it was not crowded at all! Overall amazing and wonderful place to be.

  • 5/5 Joe D. 3 years ago on Google
Fun times. Great attractions and a wonderful variety of aquatic life. Touch tank with anemones, starfish and snails, but stingray exhibit is currently no-touch as a result of Covid-19 mitigation.

  • 3/5 Quincy F. 3 years ago on Google
The aquarium was "OK". I was expecting to see more fish exhibits. My kids liked it but it wasn't worth the price of admission.

We have been here many times but this time was disappointing. Prices should go down if a lot of your attractions are closed. $150 for 30 minutes of our time. Never again.

The main reason why I was brought to see the Mall of America ~ Sea Life was quite a stunning and peaceful experience!!! I loved how they set up the whole "walking on ocean bottom", while the aquarium and it's gorgeous underwater inhabitants swam around everyone. Very easy to lose track of time enjoying their beauty, so many wonderful chances to take crazy up close pictures! Truly worth every penny!

  • 3/5 Roberto T. 3 years ago on Google
My family and I had a great time up until the end at the gift shop. I would hope Sea Life would get a better debit transaction system. I tried using both of my mastercards and they wouldnt go thru. According to the employee there they always have issues with mastercard. Had cash but they werent taking cash. No other issues anywhere after the aquarium so I know it was their system. My kids were really bummed they couldnt get merch.

Fun experience it just goes by sooo fast even when taking your time! 2 adults and my 2 toddlers did it within 45 min and for the price of $70 it's hard to say it's super worth it.

This was very nice and nicely organized.every exhibit was labeled. You new what you were walking into before you got to it. Great selection of sharks. I really enjoyed the touch Tank and being able to feed the sting rays and jelly fish exhibit was really neat and so many of them

This place made me feel like things were getting back to "Normal". Great atmosphere, my daughter loved it so much. We had a great day there. Sea Life seem to be doing good and it was awesome that they had other things other than just ocean life. They had information about the rainforest and different animals that live there. Overall a fantastic place to visit and just enjoy with the family.

  • 5/5 Jennifer H. 2 years ago on Google
Been here several times before and it is still just as awesome. I would recommend going through slowly because there are so many things going on in the tubes. You can now touch different things once you leave the tubes. I highly recommend doing it. The feeling was really neat.

  • 5/5 DREW L. 2 years ago on Google
This spot I would say maybe a hidden lil gem in this massive place. Very cool place to visit. One of the best aquarium I have ever been too. The tubes and tunes are a real fun experience. Feeding the sting rays was a great fun as well. Staff is interactive and very helpful. Thanks for the great time.

Fun place! Great sea life. A bit overpriced for how big it is, but it's great for kids and adults.

  • 5/5 Danna M. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful experience. The staggered entry and limited capacity due to covid actually made the time at the aquarium more enjoyable for our family. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions. We booked online and were able to use a discount code without any trouble.

Great first stop of the day at mall of America. Being able to get so close to the fish in the tunnels was amazing and a great experience. Definitely recommend reserving your tickets ahead of time just to save your spot or going early in the day to avoid long lines.

  • 5/5 Juan P. 2 years ago on Google
A lot of fun for the entire family. The exhibits are very interesting to look at and they have detailed information on what you are seeing. My baby brother loved every second of it . Needless to say we purchased more then a few items from the gift store at the end.

  • 5/5 Jennifer R. 1 year ago on Google
Great Experience! I totally recommend! We got there right when it opened and got right in and wasn't busy at all. The staff were super nice and helpful! My 8 year was just in awe of the tunnel of fish around him!

Really awesome place to go even as an adult I'd say I had a pretty fun time even though it last for roughly 20 minutes or so, amazing place to go and even better place to bring the kids.

Recently visited Sea Life @ MOA, I have been here in the past a couple years ago. I was very sad to find out the alligator gars are no longer there. My son & I were looking forward to seeing them again. They do have a wide variety of sharks that are decent size. Swimming right over and around you as you walking thru the tunnel. Huge pool filled with stingrays at end and you can pay to feed them. That is pretty unique. Enjoyed the jellyfish exhibit, and the seahorses were interesting as well. Gift shop items were priced reasonably well and they had a large selection of items. However the employee working at the giftshop was very unfriendly and rude when we were there. Other than that no complaints.

I think it's pretty obvious, but let's not skip the obvious here, definitely a tourist trap. Besides that, I have never visited an aquarium with the tube. So the experience for me was surreal, it was beautiful, and captivating to see these beautiful creatures swim all around 360° Pricepoint is, again, let's not skip the obvious, overpriced. So the aquarium itself is done up more like an exhibit. If you have been in tunnels before, you can probably skip this, but if you haven't, take your time and experience it all to its fullest.

What a beautiful place. The staff was really nice. But a girl named Riley, in particular was amazing. She went above and beyond to make this visit special for my son and I

  • 5/5 Robert B. 9 months ago on Google
Super great place for kids and adults to learn about the sea life! I'm very busy on the weekends. If you want less of a crowd, then go during the week. Super BIG crowds on weekends. Just expect an elbow to elbow flow when going. Other than that, it's great.

My Experience was awesome. My husband and I did the behind the scenes tour, Noel was the best tour guide. Noel was very informative and had answers to all my questions. We truly recommend this experience for all.

  • 3/5 Rachel b. 9 months ago on Google
I enjoyed this place but for the price it lacked in things to see and do. Also u can feed the stingray I was super excited to do that and they wouldn't take cash so I couldn't. U also couldn't pet the stingrays there. It just was a little disappointing and their gift shop was over expensive

My favorite aquarium. I've been to the Boston aquarium and CT aquarium, and I have to say the water tube walk is absolutely jaw-dropping!!! I could sit there all day. I especially liked the section showing what local MN lakes contain rather than being focused on tropical fish. A visit to mall of America is not complete without checking it out. I also appreciated that close to the end there was an activity area with a craft for the kids to do. They lived making clothes pin sharks!!!!! Fun keepsake. We went to the Mall of America on a Tuesday. i highly recommend that!

  • 4/5 Tony W. 9 months ago on Google
I'd give like 3.5. I enjoyed seeing the animals and it was nice they had more then fish. Considering the price it was a bit short but I get they have limited space. Still a fun time while at the mall.

  • 4/5 Going with the G. 8 months ago on Google
We had a ton of fun here. They have done a great job with the space they have. There are currently little added touches for Halloween, which was fun for the kids. The tunnel was a definite favorite - just magic to stand there and watch. This is the only place in the whole mall we were greeted with smiles from the staff (take that as you may). The kiosk booklets kept our kiddos engaged & happy to walk through. Make sure to check online for discounts & promo codes. We bundled together at kiosks with the ride combo offered. Took off a star as felt it was rather small for the price charged - although it was probably the perfect size to keep kids’ attention. Would also have loved to learn more about current conservation efforts. An example - looking online, a sea turtle Seemore is mentioned along with amazing strides to help with the “bubble butt syndrome” but Amelio was in the tanks & signage in the tunnel. Altogether, we’d definitely consider returning!

  • 4/5 Carrie B. 8 months ago on Google
My aunt and I visited here last weekend. The packages were confusing to me, so we just got the basic package that lets you walk through the tunnel for about $30. Each. I've never been to an aquarium before so this tunnel was pretty amazing to me, however, there were some smaller tanks with sea horses, or star fish in them, that had other sea life in it, and i would have liked to know what those other fish were and there wasn't signage or employees to share that information. It took us about 35 minutes to go through the aquarium, and another 15 minutes in the gift shop. We both had a good time viewing the sea life, and I recommend it.

Wonderful experience at Sea Life. We walked through and stayed for a long time taking photos and videos of sharks, sea turtles, sting rays and more. Amazing experience!

  • 5/5 Glenda N. 3 months ago on Google • 8 reviews New
It’s a great place to visit with kids, family and friends and even solo. I recommend taking your time to see the animals rather than running through the aquarium too quickly as it’s very easy to miss on the details. The Giant Grouper (big fish) loves to follow people and we play with him!
