We had a wonderful time! The food was delicious, and a work of art. We had the vegetarian platter, yummy. The patio was beautiful, we sat by the nice trees in the shade. Wrapping the food up in the bread was a fun experience. What a great feature of the neighborhood!

Wife and I got a big shared plate for $25, this thing was ridiculous. Like a whole thanksgiving meal from Ethiopia. Also free coffee and tea. The food was literally amazing.

The food is always amazing, offered at a reasonable price, and the delivery service is super timely! The only times I’ve ever had some issues has been with waiting a while for my order when I pick it up though. Great place nonetheless!

Such a great restaurant. There's a lot of good Ethiopian food in the Twin Cities (we've probably visited 5 different restaurants and enjoyed our meals at all), but Katar River is my family's favorite. The food is excellent, and the service is excellent. Go in expecting a leisurely dining experience, and you won't be disappointed.

Food was amazing & the service was thorough and helpful! We shared the sampler platter and couldnt finish the dish meant for two between the three of us! Harsh lighting and the TV was playing a low quality animal channel off youtube.

I ordered the combo for 3 for pickup and it was a lot of food! We will have plenty of leftovers and I'm very happy. Very delicious, great flavors, 10/10 would recommend this place to everyone looking for a good meal.

We got the combination for 2, dine-in. Lots of injera and perfectly spicy dishes (beets, corn, chicken, beef tips, curry chicken). Everything was good. Best ethiopian i've had in a long time.

Just got home from a spontaneous weekday lunch at Katar River Restaurant. What a lovely place! We ordered inside and then ate outside in one of their open air patio areas. There is one inside as well. My friend and I split the two person vegetarian combination and it was the perfect amount of food for us to eat there and have some to take home. Inside there is a market/grocery store with a lovely atmosphere, as well. I look forward to going back!

Outrageously expensive goods. The meat I got was the worst. The owner is VERY nice and she is the only reason why I've continued to buy from this establishment.

I had a great meal here! I had never had Ethiopian food before coming here so I had no frame of reference but was still thoroughly impressed! Host and server were both very kind and gave excellent service and the food (Vegetarian Combination) was fantastic. *Very* generous portions, probably too much for just 2 people but I could totally see myself splitting that order between 3 or 4 people. I'm sad that it took me this long to try such wonderful cuisine but I'm excited to come back here!

The place was cool. The employee was very nice. My only issue is the Sambusa was fried pretty hard. It was Lentil flavor which is fine for me, I should have asked what kind he had so that was on me. Other than that it's nice.

We finally got the chance to try Katar River tonight and it was the BEST. We shared a veggie platter for two and have a meal for lunch left over for tomorrow as well. Everything was so fresh and incredibly delicious. The injera is the best I’ve had so far. I am so happy to have this gem close by!

Best Ethiopian I’ve ever had!! The combination platter was a beautiful selection of both meat and veggie dishes. The spices and flavors were incredible. The service was very friendly, and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to ANYONE and plan to return with a larger group of friends very soon!! Thank you!

Yum! This “small” platter was $22 and super flavorful. Also loved the lentil sambusas. Kind service, relaxing outdoor (only, I think) seating and a small market inside for dry/bulk goods. We’ll be back!!

There’s a restaurant and a grocery. We always order the combos. The two person combo is really too much food for two people. There’s no dine in option unless you don’t mind smoke (incense?) but the patio is nice. If it’s groceries you want, this is a great place to come for spices if you plan to cook Ethiopian for like 50 people.
