I fell in love with Angie’s cafe and bakery since the very first time I came in. All the food that I have tried has been amazing: beef stew with yellow rice, red beans and amarillos, chicken and cheese empanadas, cupcakes, piña colada, coffe etc! In addition to the delicious food the place is just the cutest, every detail of the cups and plates make everything look perfect. You will be happy you found this place!

WOW WOW WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY THIS PLACE IS 100% AUTHENTIC DOMINICAN CUISINE AND MADE TO IMPRESS. It is not easy to make a Dominican cake. The taste of there pastelitos aka empanadas are perfect. The Cake is amazing. IAM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED AND HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THIS PLEACE. Nice people the interior decor is welcoming. Only thing this place is missing is some fresh cut coconuts with a straw. Born n raised Brooklyn NY by die hard Dominican Parents. This place is worth the trip.

Was not personally wowed by the crust on the empanadas but others in the group really liked it. Otherwise food was super tasty. The juices are very thick and more smoothie texture. The decor is really cute! Would suggest having some patience if eating in or getting take out if you're in a hurry as the staff has a lot going on but even so, it wasn't objectionably slow.

Super cute spot 💞 could be a location for a coffee date or to enjoy some authentic Dominican treats.

Fantastic dolce de leche. My custom order for wifes 35th bday was expertly executed and was beautiful to behold. If I had a criticism it would be the communication which can be improved. It also took a while, and several asks to get an itemized invoice as order was placed over the phone. But fantastic confections and I will be patronizing again; and also for the cuisine.

This cake was delicious......the icing so fluffy and the cake was exquisitely decorated and moist and fluffy too. I will definitely order my granddaughters bday cake there in November and my desserts for Thanksgiving as well. One of the BEST cakes i've ever eaten! I will refer you to many of my friends and family too

Amazing! I ordered two Tres Leche cakes and the Dominican cake with dulce de leche filling for my best friends wedding. They were incredible! Not only were they beautiful, but it was probably the best cake I've ever had. Tasted home made but looked professional. They were honestly the star of the show.

Excellent mofongo and other traditional dishes in a casual environment. They do a strong take out business too.

The service here is definitely not customer oriented. Upon ordering Pollo guisado, I asked that the rice be placed in a separate container. You would have thought I was asking for gold. I attempted to explain that I didn't want the rice to get wet. The person then explains, "I would need to charge you for all three separately." SERIOUSLY???? I'm only requesting a seperate container. She then goes on to explain that the rice won't get wet. Uhhhh, duhhhh, yes it will! What would it have cost you to provide a separate container for the rice????

This is a nice spot in Metuchen. The food is pretty good. The empanadas are a must. The Pina colada was great. A plus for this place is there is parking but it's small.

I ordered a tres leches cake last minute. The cake was very pretty, but I guess my expectations for flavor were high based on other reviews. Everyone loved it so I was happy! Definitely will give it another try for other items.

The cupcakes are good but only have macaroons as the gluten free option. It is a cute place and my friends liked the cupcakes just wish there were more options for me

We ordered rice, beans, beef, chicharrón and sweet plantains and it was delicious! Authentic Dominican food, it felt just like home. Her empanadas are to die for!! We loved it. Thank you! I ordered back, I got now a Mofongo and let me tell you all, this is one of the BEST mofongos I ever had. Excellent!! I also love her sweet plantains, And I’m picky with sweet plantains, Angie your cuisine is delicious and on point! Feels just like home. Thank you.

Food was yummy. Enjoyed the special. Was a bit salty but the dessert definitely hit the spot. Portion size definitely helpful to put on some winter weight, giggle. But equitable to the price 👍🏽

Always in my rotation of heavily frequented eateries. Delicious and simple Dominican food. It's like your Dominican friend's mom just made you food using her abuela'a old recipes. The owner is a very nice lady who makes great food. Savory pernil, crispy and moist tostones, rich mofongo, perfectly fried tilapia.... I love it all.

Disappointed food used to be great here. It's still pretty tasty but bit into what felt like a rock or pebble in my beans. Beef stew was also ordered and it wasn't the portions it used to be. Counting bites out of curiosity and it was legitimately 4 bites of stew. It didn't used to be like this the sweet plantains were skimpy too. You'd think with an extra dollar added to the meal price it would equate to more food. Tough times I guess but the pebble was unpleasant. Must have snuck into the beans if they cook dry beans sometimes bags contain that sort of debris.

Disappointed in the changes at Angie’s. I used to get charged $2.50 and empanada but today they are $4 each! I order six empanadas, but you only get one hot sauce. It was a big production to get two additional. Small side of rice and beans was $12. Prices are outrageous. Thinking twice about going back, and this was one of my “spots”. Bummer for sure!

The service is good but this is not Dominican food. There were some paintings showing Dominican Republic countryside but mostly instagram picturesque. The rotisserie chicken was bland. The pernil was salty no flavor just salt. The dough on the empanadas was not good.

I love this place. The food was excellent, and even tho it was 2 go, the setup looks really cool and stylish. The 3 leches was off the hook.😋😋😋They even threw in some sample rice and beans, which were also 👍🏽.Strongly recommend

Since finding this gem of a Cafe and Bakery about a month ago, I've ordered a Dominican Cake for my Daughters birthday and a Tres Leche cake for my Niece's birthday. Both were delicious and a couple of the best cakes I've had. You can also eat in and have a Cafe con Leche and share a pastry with a friend or loved one. I will definitely go back and enjoy the food there with my wife.

Ordered food from here the other day they forgot to give me the salty plantains lady on the phone said the meal was $18 and when I ordered flan they charged me almost $30 double the price! Very expensive place for a small portion of food

How many times have you passed an local establishment that you wanted to try but kept passing ? Well that's my story with Angie's Cafe. Today I finally had the chance to check out this local eatery & Bakery. I ordered the Pollo Guisado which is the Dominican version of Chicken Soup. Rice on the side, Beef Empanadas, and for desert a Chocolate Cup Cake. Just this small meal was absolutely amazing. I look forward to going back with my family for an actual dinner. I'm certain it will be just as delicious as lunch. Keep up the good cooking Angie.

Just had a delicious lunch! Fresh mango/passion fruit juice, mofongo, plantains and finished with a dulce de leche cupcake. Yum!! I can’t wait to come back with my husband. Everything is made to order and authentic. The cafe is very cute and cheerful!
