I arrived at the ICU only 2 hours before my beloved uncle's passing. In that short time, the doctor caring for him explained the situation and our options very clearly, allowing me to conference in another family member. Our nurse was very present, caring, and skilled. She helped to make his passing very peaceful. I am grateful for the loving care we received that day.

My dads experience with the ER room at Saint Michaelā€™s was 5 out 5 starsā€¦Grateful for all doctors and stuff but in special RN Jasmine and transporter Marisol Gonzales both was very efficient and professional. They just made my dad visit by their lovely way to treat the patients. His waiting time was long. However, we got there at Night Shift, and had to get a CT Scam and in order to get the results, took us a little bit of time. They were all the time checking him and explaining what was happening. He felt very comfortable throughout the entire visit. Thank you so much!! God Bless every single of you guys out there, working hard to save our lives.

My experience with the radiology department at Saint Michaelā€™s was stellar! The receptionist was pleasant, professional, and efficient. My wait time was minimal. The radiology tech came out to meet me and introduced himself. He was also pleasant, professional, and efficient. I liked that he told me exactly what to do to get ready for my X-ray and where to meet him after changing into my gown. I felt very comfortable throughout the entire visit. Thankyou!

Do yourself a favor, if you want to keep your reputation as a healthcare worker in good standing. Work at a different medical center or find health care somewhere else. Beware of snakes that smile behind your back.

My overall experience was great. I'm thankful to every doctor and nurse whom cared for me during and after my surgeries. I'm currently in outpatient with the same doctors. I'm very pleased and grateful. They saved my life. I recommend Saint Michael's Medical Center to anyone that needs excellent professional doctors, technicians and nurses. Thank you

Went to St. Michaelā€™s Medical Center to have cataract surgery on my left eye, when I arrived early in the morning to admitting, I was met by two very pleasant ladies. After registering with admitting, I was told to go to the same-day surgery unit on the fourth floor where I met some really nice nurses. After going over all my medical history, I was then transferred to the operating unit where I was prepped for surgery. Everyone was great and happy to help patients in their care. I really appreciate all the great care and services provided to me and will always recommend St.Michaelā€™s to all my Family & Friends. God bless all of their Doctors, Nurses and Great Staff members.

the worst office that exists in new jersey is this one, they are not professionals they don't even know what they are doing. They have 4 months to give me an appointment and they don't even know anything about the insurance. If you want to do a sleep test, look for another option, this is the worst. I am here on the location and they donā€™t even have an appointment for after 3 month scheduling I come in and I am not even on the schedule this is ridicules.

Although my fiance was the patient this time I have also taken patients there through my employer and I've had the best experiences. Knowledgeable, thorough. Man has a huge heart. My fiance continues to rave about him. Two thumbs up!

Despite the extremely long wait, I must say that the doctor and nurse were truly amazing. I love it here! However, there is a pressing need to clean or replace the waiting area chairs, as the current ones are extremely dirty. Returning to my feedback, I have to commend the front desk staff at the check-in window; they are exceptionally friendly and caring at the hospital.

Terrible service. First we were told my loved one who needed urgent help could be seen and given the medication needed. We were then kept waiting in a ward for about an hour. Blood and urine tests were then done. We were then completely ignored and left waiting with no update for almost 6 hours. I then complained about being ignored and they told me it could be one more hour for the doctor. Then it turned into 3 hours. Somewhere in between they said the doctor will be on via video call and will not be able to provide medicine only advise on what he thinks should be done. Why werenā€™t we informed Of all details sooner? Incredibly irresponsible. I understand things can take long but you must explain what is going on and approximate wait times so the patient and the family can decide what is best. The employeeā€™s excuse in the ER was ā€œThis is how it works in the ER.ā€ Well if thatā€™s how it works explain it from the get go. Donā€™t assume I know how your job works. Peopleā€™s lives are at stake. Truly a disgrace. Absolutely useless.

THIS IS THE WORST HOSPITAL IN THE WORLD. Came in from the ambulance around 5:30 we took our vitals after 10 minutes. After our vitals were took we sat in the waiting for hours we werenā€™t seen and put into a room until 8:30. At the time, there was 42 patients and only 1 doctor which is absurd. The room that I was put in wasnā€™t cleaned there was blood on the trash bag the chair wasnā€™t cleaned. Hours later, we finally saw a doctor and got our X-rays. The doctor recommend us to sign the AMA form to leave against medical consent since there wasnā€™t a radiologist on call so we can get our results. Stayed in the hospital until we were discharged at 3:30 am. The doctor completely forgot the last two patients he had in the ER at that specific time. The doctor had fallen asleep. My stay in this hospital was ridiculous. Nobody should have been in a hospital for 11 hours that is unheard of unless you are admitted. We werenā€™t admitted. If you can help it donā€™t come to this hospital go further so you will not have to wait to be seen for hours on end. The later in the night it got the worse the hospital got. This place doesnā€™t deserve any stars & it actually should be shut down today.

This is to bring to your notice I had visited the hospital during the month of July and was asked to take certain test as I had insurance from aetna being an international student. I had successfully taken the test and the reports were sent to the hospital and till date there has been no response from the hospital people regarding the same. I made so many visits to the hospital and each time they had some or the issue so I could not meet the doctor or any one. When I called the desk no one would respond me or even connect me with right department. This such disgusting response I have received. Being in service profession and such kind of behavior is totally unaccepted. What if I had some serious issues and needed attention what would have happened. Even now i have no hope you would respond to my complaint. The service has been so pathetic and unfriendly. And for no proper service i have to pay $84 to the hospital. I'm so unwilling to pay it, being a student this is not easy to shell out. Had I known this is costing service I would have never paid a visit.

In all my years of going to the emergency room, this was the best experience I ever had, the staff was very friendly and very helpful and was careful, my waiting experience was great, They took my information and I went straight to the back, the best part I loved was when someone came on the loudspeaker and said a prayer for the patients and staff, that was so nice and a great blessing to be there at that moment. I will be making this my main hospital to come to for any other problems. You guys get double stars great job keep the great work up. This makes me feel and know itā€™s people out there in the medical field that real care about people and enjoy their job. Thank you again for the love and care and treatment I needed while I was there

Best rest I've had in weeks! Came through the Emergency Department and was seen in less than 10 minutes. Staff has been as awesome and attentive as possible. Had to be admitted unfortunately but they've been very thorough. The food is what it is. Regular style hospital food. I've had better...I've had MUCH worse. 3 out of 5. More important than food was the staff and every single one of them was great. I even loved helping the student doctors. If you aren't too sick, take some time to answer their questions too (trust me, they'll ask you as many as you let them!) because you never know!

The wait was very long and tiring but I still managed to stay. Treatment wasn't the best, left the hospital still coughing and still lost of breath. I knew there was something medically wrong with me but the doctor said everything looks good with all the test results even my chest x-ray. So I left once they discharged me. And was just gonna go to another ER. The very next night I received a phone call from the doctor saying there was something on my chest x-ray to come in and pick up my prescription. I was really disappointed in hearing that. I will not return back to this ER ever again. I take my life seriously and for that the er did a very poor job in helping me when I needed it the most!!! I should have not been walking out of there not knowing I have Pneumonia a night later!!šŸ˜ž

Worse experience ever. I sat for literally 2 hours and 6 minutes not once was I informed by a nurse or anyone else in the ER that a Doctor would be with me momentarily. They literally walked past my room the whole two hours like I wanted to just be sitting in the ER for my health and not to mention didnā€™t offer water. My issue was something so small, fungus on foot of my 9 year old, I didnā€™t even get discharged. I just walked out. Itā€™s ridiculous and it wasnā€™t even packed. Approximately 6 patients total

in the emergency room or hospitalization: they don't listen to the patient, they do the tests they want even if it has no logic with what the patient is reporting. they increase the debt with parallel exams, they don't give any treatment, they send the person home even worse, and they want the person to pay for something they never received (treatment and help). at the appointment: the hematologist saw me in 5 minutes, he didn't even look at my face, he just said that I didn't have anemia and sent me away without even letting me speak. you have no love or respect for human life. (there must be good doctors, but I haven't met any of them). I was hospitalized in a serious condition, they dismissed me without treatment, the appointments I scheduled were canceled. I went back to the emergency room 8 more times, they never helped me again, it was enough for them to look in the system that I had already been hospitalized there, and everything changed, they treated me badly and sent me away (some doctor must have put something in my record, I feel the change in attitude when see). hospitalized, I was being carried, I could barely walk, and the doctor made a joke by saying "play football and you'll get better", the nurse said "look ahead and walk", total disrespect for a person incapacitated by accident, as if I was making it up. who takes pleasure in suffering in a hospital to win what? craziness. What's worse: they do it with a sick person who is incapable of defending himself in a fragile state. I cried a lot dying of pain at home, and remembering what they put me through, for nothing. Almost 1 year has passed, I still have sequels, I went back again they did the same. I know I'm only 1, and my voice will not be heard. But for those who read: know, what you did to me, I will never forget. I'm not a doctor, but the love for others that I have, you don't even know what it means. I ask a doctor: if your child was treated like this, or your mother, would you return to this hospital?

Was a bit hesitant about going to St Michaelā€™s Emergency, but I tried it. I can say this, staff was fantastic, welcoming and not at all what I expected. Wait time was amazing, normally you can spend an entire day at an emergency room. I was in and out in an hour!!!! That is unheard of I have been to many emergency rooms, but this was spectacular. From the receptionist to the medical staff, thank you, amazing all around. Do yourself a favor, if you live in the area go there you wonā€™t regret!!!!

Sort of close to me which is a plus and the process is quick it has, really improved over the years. Staff always willing to help, I have history with this hospital. When I worked in prevention at hyacinth foundation..I would refer my ex clients to counseling and testing which are a wonderful group. It's a pleasure to be part of a hospital that staff knows me by name and doctors take the time to answer all of my questions or concerns I might have.

I go to St Michael's for it's liberals. I always think guilty whenever I go back. I am owing a lot of money that I can never be able to pay. Yet they still graciously stretch me out on a clean bed, and pass me out, then (will you believe it), after a while bring me back. No revenge no malis just love and more love. And let me warn you, do not put my account in the Account Receivables file for collections. You will be paid. It is shameful and disappointing that the government cannot supervise a program targeted at providing jobs for those elders capable and ready for work to which I am among because if you stop Walking or Working you will stop Living. When you visit a hospital, first thing you notice is Nobody wants to stop Living. I am intensifying my efforts to be able to start payment. For You must be paid. St Michael's has been very benevolent to me regarding the provision of excellently supervised medical Care. And I appreciate it and thanks.

This hospital is very rude especially to those who are in need Nurse Marie very rude at the onset of visit no care for a person who is scared and coming out of a anxiety seizure..charge nurse Arleen came with no respect for the concern of the patient and family I understand they are over worked but if this is not the profession for you anymore bow out gracefully and find a new career because the last thing people need when sick is rudeness and when you applied and accepted the position you never said when I get overwhelmed I will treat patients rudely. Think about that oath you took not just the check or bow out respectfully because it's too much on you..you have loved ones you would want cared properly for

Worst hospital ever, it was my first & my last time going there. Avoid going there at all cost. They will keep you waiting to make some money off you. I had to wait 1/2 hour to get water from a doctor. That a nurse could have giving me at the time I asked her. I told a worker there by the name of Francis that I had to use the rest room. He brings me two urine containers & tells me to pee in the containers i told him no & he kept insisting to use the containers I said NO! I put my Clothes on went to the rest room. When I ask to leave they kept me there An hour more. The Doctor that was there with me at the time was the only reason I will give a 1star. Yes it was that bad.

This place has the most wonderful nurses and med techs. They became family and took very good care of my mom. However the social worker Karen was not as pleasant I give this review as a critique There needs to be better oversight and accountability she was supposed to find my mom a rehab and in the 30+ days she was there she only reached out to 3 or 4 places. As those were her words. I if it was for me finding my mom placement they were ready to discharge her with no place to go. And I quote The social worker satiated that how they usually at the time they are discharge people is that they come to you the same very moment to let you know your being discharged at the time you are to leave. If I didnā€™t appeal that process they had no problem putting her out. She also said I was lucky they gave my no 1 day notice. She further said because the insurance was not paying her bill they was discharging her. So it was all about money and not the quality of care. Being in the field of healthcare is supposed to be about care despite the fact that it is a business The techs there that care for my mom Taliyah Latasia Brianna and the rest all deserve praise as they are the best qualities of this establishment

Out of all the hospitals in Essex County St Michael's is number one as far as I'm concerned. St Michael is extraordinary excellent the staff in the departments I visited their hospitality made me feel at home. Each doctor I saw took their time and explained my diagnosis and asked if I had any questions. I haven't visited a hospital like St Michael in my life. The valet parking is awesome just awesome. Even the security guard is pleasant very helpful.

I have been going to the Connie Dwyer Breast Center for my mammograms for over 10 years. I used to go to SBMC for this and every time I had to have a follow up. But when I started going to ST Michaelā€™s I go once. They have ALWAYS been extremely professional, handled every appointment with care, they donā€™t rush what they are doing and they do a phenomenal job. My recent appointment was a breeze. I was in and out in 30 minutes. I highly recommend the Connie Dwyer Breast Center at ST Michaelā€™s hospital.

Also would like to add they made sure they ran all the necessary testing and did everything possible to get to the root of my problem and treated me properly and also very very well. Not to mention they don't just leave you sitting in a room for hours their very hands on and very attentive and everything moves pretty fast. I recently had an urgent situation that required a visit to the emergency room, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and support provided by the staff. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with professionalism, efficiency, and genuine compassion. The staff at the emergency room went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable and safe throughout my entire visit. They were quick to assess my condition and promptly took the necessary steps to address my medical needs. Their competence and expertise were evident in every interaction, and I felt reassured that I was in capable hands. What truly stood out was their unwavering dedication and empathy. Despite the demanding and fast-paced environment, the staff remained calm, composed, and focused on each patient. They took the time to listen attentively to my concerns, answer my questions, and explain the procedures and treatments in a way that was easy to understand. Their patience and willingness to provide thorough explanations were truly commendable. Moreover, the staff demonstrated remarkable teamwork and coordination. Every member, from the nurses to the doctors and support staff, worked seamlessly together to ensure a smooth and efficient process. It was evident that they possessed a shared commitment to delivering the highest standard of care. Not only did the staff attend to my immediate medical needs, but they also provided emotional support during a stressful time. Their kind words, comforting gestures, and reassuring smiles made a significant difference in alleviating my anxiety and promoting a sense of well-being. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every staff member at the emergency room. Their dedication, expertise, and compassionate care have left an indelible impression on me. They embody the true essence of healthcare professionals who genuinely care about their patients' well-being. If you find yourself in need of urgent medical attention, I highly recommend this emergency room. The staff's exceptional care and compassion will undoubtedly ease your worries and ensure that you receive the best possible treatment during a challenging time. Thank you once again to the remarkable staff at the emergency room for their outstanding service and for making a difference in people's lives.

I love the way the Doctor and nurse treated me. I was happy that I went there because I went to Clara Mass the day before and they didn't do anything for me. Sent me home still sick in pain. So I went to Saint Michael's and never been there before. Now I can say they took there time with me, ran test on me and I'm happy I went there because now I feel better today. I had to use the ER while out of town in mid October 2021. I chose St. Michael's ER and I'm glad I did. I went to St. Michael Hospital last night for shortness of breathe. I told the ER doctor I took a covid home test before I came it read positive. I also informed the St. Michael's ER doctor I was a bad asthmatic as well. I told the ER doctor that saw me I was coughing up dark green colored mucus. The ER doctor did flu test, covid test and blood work. Covid test came back positive I ask her if she could prescribed me the covid medication and a antibiotic for the dark green mucus. The ER doctor told the xray was good. I informed her yes the xray was good but I was still spitting up dark green mucus that a sign of infection plus I am a bad asthmatic with covid. The ER doctor refuse to give me the covid medication and the antibiotics knowing I'm a bad asthmatic. She told me get it from my doctor it I want the medication because she wasn't giving it to me. I will be taking my complaint to patient representative and to the director department for the doctor giving me poor care. This is unacceptable.

I was told by my doctor that, I would be sitting for the mugga test and not lying down. Unfortunately I would have to lay down on a hard board for the test. I couldn't do this, I have a bad back and can't lay down on something that thin. They were nice about it and to have to pay $290 for the test. Thank God I got my money back . This was very trying for me. Thank you, I'm disabled In a wheelchair.

I received great care after surgery at Saint Michael's. All the nurses gave me plenty of attention. Whenever I pushed that call button, they came right away. Dr. Stylman, my surgeon was great, and his operating staff. I've not been inside Saint Michael's since my nephew was born and that was 38 years ago! Very positive experience.

Overall satisfied with the service. I was told to come in early to register and prep for the procedure. My scheduled procedure time was 8:30 am and was taken in the procedure room at 10:36 am which I think is ridiculously late. The nurses in the cath lab were so nice to bring me to the procedure room. Who knows when transport people will pick me up. Another thing that was important for me was that I am diabetic on NPO and it is more important to me that procedure be on time.

It was and has been one of my best experiences, even though there was no stretcher, but the attention of the nurses and the doctor, also the interpreter, was more than excellent, thanks to them after God, I am happy.

I went in for a gall bladder removal surgery. First got to the ER and was then admitted for surgery. Everyone from the nurses at the ER to Dr Kashan, my surgeon, and everyone I met was polite and caring. The whole process, including instructions at discharge and follow up appointments, were all seamless.

If you meet with a nurse named Rashida donā€™t accept her care sheā€™s very rude and rough. She kept on saying my urine is nasty repeatedly and said it stinks. I heard her yelling at a patient next to me saying things like move your booty up repeatedly while the other nurses were laughing. The hospital is great but they need to give her a training on how to be nice and considerate of others because she lacks it. She almost ripped my skin off while taking off the bandages. RASHIDA IS HER NAME avoid her.

Since Sunday I was feeling very sick. Due to lack of time, I was not able to see a doctor. I felt worse on Monday, October 25. When I got to the emergency room it took a while to process me to be treated but once inside, I was attended by a very kind man named Wayne. Wayne was my nurse for the whole night and was very kind and gentle. Never in my life have I been treated with such delicacy and love in a hospital. I went home happy for such a nice treatment they gave me and I must say that I improved a lot in the short time I was there. Thank you Wayne!

When I first walked into the ER, the receptionist was amazing I believe her name was Zanae. She made it known it was busy on that day and explained everything so well I was shocked to know sheā€™s only been there for 2 months. Sheā€™s so well spoken, it was easily the best experience from a receptionist. The problem occurred when I got into the back, the nurses were rude and the doctors rushed through everything that I had to come back three days later. They need to make patients feel more comfortable to speak instead of looking like their judging also heard them making fun of a homeless man. Thatā€™s the only part that needs improvement

Courteous, professional and caring staff. The ER. Although dated. Was clean. ER wait was not too long. My attending nurse Ryan was a gem. My son was admitted a few days before and they took great care of him.

I came in with a infection no blood work was done my pain was a 10 no pain medication was given not even Tylenol, just a xray of my hand no doctor came to exam me a p.a. came in once never even looked at the hand but told me they have no doctor to help me. I got a paper prescription rather then they call it to the pharmacy so I could pick it up I had to ask for a pill of the antibiotics to take before I left. If not for the nursing staff the doors should be locked just terrible not even a cup of water was offere

Recently when in for scheduled hernia surgery and I can't say enough about the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The Same Day Surgery department was full of caring and friendly nurses and all staff I came into contact with, even wheelchair/bed pushers, the anesthesiologist and, of course, the surgeon (Dr. Jamil) were spectacular. It's great to see people who obviously enjoy going to work and taking care of patients. Thanks to all for a job well done!

I have been visiting St. Michael's Hospital for the past few years. I was admitted and had to stay a few days, it most definitely was a good experience. I was welcomed, treated and assisted with respect & smiles from doctors and nurses. The food could always be better but I cannot complain for the most part it was fulfilling šŸ˜Œ

My momā€™s time Juanita Barr at Saint Michaelā€™s Medical Center was amazing. The staff on the 8th floor treated my mother with great care. I also want to give a special shout out to Kristine Limpin RN. She was extremely attentive. A true professional. Our family is eternally grateful for the service provided.

I went to ER with my significant other with chest pain, intake took a bit then after intake taken to a smaller waiting area to wait for a room, then told they need a EKG. The tech told us to go into an intake room for the EKG when we went in the chairs arm rest had stain of blood plus stitches along with the tool used to take off stitches, we had to tell the tech to please clean the room. After EKG we were taken into the designated room and all we hear is the staff cursing and complaining about the job very unprofessional, then we also hear a pt in the hallway vomiting and all i hear is one or two of the staff telling the man ā€œthis is what happens when you drink too muchā€.! On way up for a scan another worker jumps in elevator and was asked by transporter how was his day and the guy was also cursing and talking about the job. I think they should be mindful of their surroundings and think about speaking especially when a place has to be professional. The nurse was nice and there was also another worker that was great I did forget his name but he had eyes on everything when it came to the patient care. I think I would think about it twice before going back there!!

Iā€™m disappointed in the unprofessionalism of this hospital and the ER. My fiancĆ© was treated here tonight, after being injured from an assault. They stitched up his lip and ran a few tests to check his head. During the test they found a tumor. My fiancĆ© wanted to know more about this diagnosis and what could be done to treat it. As this is a very concerning and serious matter. Itā€™s nothing to take lightly at all. However, they just blew him off like it was nothing and decided to discharge him. The staff was extremely rude to him demanding he gets off the phone with me as well. When all he was doing was trying to inform me and his family as to what was going on with his health. Iā€™ve never heard of a hospital treating patients like this. Moreover, having such a nonchalant and disgusting attitude. It is absolutely unacceptable and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

I can't sing praises highly enough of this place & its staff, as God has so strongly blessed it & them. Best 'hotel' in town - airy rooms, great food & room service (very attentive), super clean. Paid attention to dietary & personal needs & requests. I was admitted while on holiday, 2nd day of trip, had no medical insurance, was treated with nothing but kindness & care & excellent medical supervision & treatment. All despite the fact that I had no insurance. I was told that there was charity funding & that all my expenses would be covered. HaleluYah ! All the staff without exception were diligent & courteous & often joyful & enthusiastic. The chaplaincy were active & a great atmosphere of prayerfulness & the presence of God evident & alive. Praise the Lord for His goodness in establishing this wonderful place of healing, love & care.

I am currently a patient in the hospital and the care I've received from the ICU staff is commendable. They were very caring and patient with my needs and made my terrifying situation as comfortable as possible. GREAT BIG shoutout to Nurses Majorie, Selena and the impeccable Cynthiaā¤ļø. The care was above and beyond what was expected and it's nurses like this that keeps patients coming back.

I wouldn't bring my dying dog here. There are 2 working WOWs. Most of the computers in the room do not work. I went through 6 clean iv machines before obtaining a working machine. I voiced my concerns and was told "welcome to saint michaels". Pharmacy is rude. I have never been to a hospital like this. It reminded me of the movie New Jack City. Rather than complain I addressed the issues or simply "minded my business" as I was told by my charge nurse. I gave it one star because it is rather clean because of the janitorial crew. The staff are rude. The care is minimal. Management is horrible. I watched nurses speak to patients as if they were peasants. Yes there are troublesome patients but do not demeanor them in their time of need. There are so many AMAs because of the treatment received. The wait time is horrible 3 hours plus. There are some good nurses and maybe 2 good charge nurses. Before I'm labeled a disgruntled ex employee. I am not. It saddens me how this place is run. I brought my concerns of the patient to nurse ratio and was scolded. Way to promote safe patient care. If you want to apply here do not!! If you value your license go to Beth Israel or University. They have high standards and morals.

My husband had really bad backache. We went to the emergency around 11:00 pm. After the screening he was put in the room to wait for the doctor that NEVER came! I was with our baby sitting on the chair in the room then I talked to some nurse asking about the doctor several times. 5 hours later we left and my husband didn't see anyone. Now he received a bill of $724 for some bad services. It's unbelievable

We had to bring my fiancƩe to the emergency room last Saturday due to him being in extreme sudden pain. The only bad part of our experience was that we had to wait 3 hours for him to be seen, and he was in 10/10 pain throughout all of that (later we discovered his gallbladder was inflamed and double the regular size and it had to be taken out, so you can imagine the level of his pain). From talking with the workers it seems like they are understaffed and this is ultimately corporate's fault, it's truly a shame that corporate overlooks this sort of thing. From the wait alone I would have given it 1 star, but all the doctors, nurses and technicians that took care of my fiancƩe were so sweet and caring that it overshadowed the initial crazy wait. I hope the corporate realizes what a wonderful staff they have here and don't take them for granted.

I experienced outstanding medical care at Saint Michael's Medical Center Emergency Room. Dr. Larry Wolk, MD and the other ER Staff were excellent and compassionate in giving me Class "A" medical treatment and care. I am a 76 year old American Military Veteran and have seen my share of Emergency Rooms. And, I can sincerely say that Saint Michael's ER is at the Top of the field. Bravo, St. Michael's! You have my heartfelt Thank You. George A. Wilkie

My son was passing out, and they refused to see him due to the fact heā€™s 2. We went to the nearest hospital which was st Michaelā€™s. We waited around more 20-30 mins only for the triage nurse to tell us we are better off going to a different hospital thereā€™s nothing they can do for us. While my son was throwing up and couldnā€™t stay awake.

I want to recognize RN Lourdes Ancheta for helping me so much for getting an IV in my arm when no one else could access my port. She stated until 8:20 pm to get an IV for me so I am greatly appreciated of her for working with me and not giving up on me. We worked together and she was very patient with me tonight.

For the most part my experience at SM was good accept for one staff member., I was on the seventh floor room 703 , a Spanish nurse wearing green scrubs and dark hair cover. She wanted to draw blood from the top part of my hand and I told her to use my upper arm. She ignored my advice and inserted the needle into the top of my hand and was unable to draw blood, she then inserted the needle in my wrist and I can't believe they did not give me a script for meds when I signed out.

I have had my annual mammogram at St Michaelā€™s for several years now. The staff, both in the clinic and in the hallways, are always cordial and efficient. The technicians are efficient and sensitive to the discomfort of the procedure. My most recent mammogram was done on a new machine which seemed to provide a less uncomfortable experience. My follow up reports usually come promptly. I am very satisfied with continuing with SMMC.

I went there as directed to after a work-related injury. My info was not taken quite accordingly. Because I didn't lose consciousness, no MRI or CAT Scan, only CT scan for my neck. I still have a lingering headache/migraine nearly 3 days after injury. 2 painful bumps on either side of my head. Only friendly staff was the triage Nurse Monica, the young person transporting me to get said CT Scan, and the CT Tech. Everyone else seemed cold. Rather than appease me/explain much of anything, Dr gave me 2 choices: Discharge or Blood work. Blood work is not going to show if I did sustain an injury to my head or not. Didn't even feel for the bumps. I had been in there for at least 5-6 hours. Upon discharge, was told to sign, and before I could say anything else, was left alone. Looking at paperwork, it was in Spanish. No once when spoken to did I speak in Spanish when spoken to. I have no accent. Yes I'm Hispanic, but no accent at all. When asking for it to be printed in English, I had to literally show a staffer the printouts. Told the Dr, yet had I not been standing there waiting, I would've been there longer. He had forgotten till he saw me still waiting. I kept both copies just to show & confirm to my employer proof of the experience. Paperwork even has my maiden name. I'm separated, and have a Polish last name. I would not go there again unless absolutely no other choice but to do so.

Considering I am a healthcare professional myself, I find it extremely disappointing and also disgusting how my best friend was treated at this emergency room. Upon arrival, she presented with lower edema, palpitations, and chest pain that had not been relieved in almost 24 hours. Given these symptoms, these are to be handled immediately as this could have been potentially something fatal. Unfortunately, she sat in the ER for 4+ hours just to be told there were not ultrasound technicians available on Sundayā€™s to see her. This was extremely disheartening to hear, as anyone in excruciating pain would be upset by such news. I understand things are hard with low staff numbers sometimes but this is outrageous. We must do better.

My visit to St. Michael's Hospital was necessary. I had to take two family members to the ER. The workers did their best to be expeditious and professional. I appreciated that the nurse J who was in charge of assisting my family did her work without hesitation and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. ( Provided us with chairs) and did her best to accommodate our needs. Thanks for your kind assistance in helping my family throughout their health crisis.
