My girlfriend and I was in New Jersey visiting our families in December, 2021 and I am a member of the YMCA in Hampton Roads, Virginia. I travel all over the US for business and every YMCA will let me use their facility because I have a Nationwide Membership. They told me they could not let me in because of their COVID restrictions and for protection of their members? Here's the ironic part; we could pay $10.00 each or $20.00 as some sort of temporary family membership or something of that nature? Wait.....you want to protect your members, but I could pay to use the facility? At a minimum, they could have let us use it for one day as a guest for free? I agree with the other reviewers about their rudeness too. Also, I wanted to contact the Membership director and was given her card. I called and e-mailed Kim Eliades and never received a return call or e-mail. I won't be back in their facility and I will contact their Corporate office too.

Hi, I came here to update my previous review. And again, another racist experience from your facility. Not sure who’s working today June 19, 2023, but whoever is sitting at the podium, respect everybody no matter what color their skin is. I know in this area you might not see Black people all the time, but we do frequent this facility a lot. you should be ashamed of yourself to pick and choose who you allow in to the building.. especially when you have no prior knowledge to who is walking inside. You would think in the Morristown area you would get more “quality” people working at this facility. My partner and I have ran into an issue EVERY TIME we come to this specific location. We are members of the Piscataway YMCA and have been a guest at greater Morristown before. All of a sudden they refuse to let us in unless we’re with that specific guest. I spoke to a woman who stated we signed paperwork that we never did. This place is not BIPOC FRIENDLY. I recommended trying to find other locations in the Morris County area.

Nobody at the front desk knows what they're doing. The gym is consistently littered with kids who's parents work late after school. And the adult membership is $65 a month. I put up with all this because it's the only gym in the area. 2 stars sounds about right.

Dishonest business. About $400 we paid for kids classes that cancelled due to pandemic shut down are gone. They said they have new system and won’t honor their own credit voucher, and lie about everything. Manager keep saying they lost money during pandemic, but scam families that also had a hard time during pandemic is not the way. If you want sign up your children to any classes at Morristown YMCA, think twice.

Staff are rude, facility operates as an after care facility without any adult supervision of youth in weight room making it impossible for adult members to utilize the facility in an effective and functional manner. Equipment is in disrepair partial due to inappropriate use by undersupervised youth. The pool hours are great and is the only part of facility that is clean.

Overall a very good gym with terrific hours Monday through Friday. The two downsides: closes too early on Saturday and Sunday, and fewer yoga/Pilates classes than pre-Covid

Great Customer service, Gym equipment for all types of fittness (powerlifting, cross functional fitness, circuit training etc) Their website is extremely user friendly and it is easy to schedule yoga classes, swimming, and other activities. This is comparable to the nicest gyms I have ever been to but 30-50% of the cost. Customer service is impeccable; extremely friendly and extremely responsive. The workout equipment is always well maintained and there are the best and newest rowing machines, which I had only seen in professional athlete-grade gyms. My only regret is not being able to stay in NJ permanently to utilize their facilities.

This is a good location. I used to go to the Randolph YMCA, which I also enjoy. Pros: I love the track that’s above the basketball court because I don’t like running on treadmills. I like how the gym is set up into smaller rooms so I don’t feel overwhelmed by being in a huge room full of machines. Cons: It’s so cold to me. This might not affect other people because I just naturally run cold. It feels like its like 68 degrees in here and I like being in rooms that are 74 degrees, but that’s just me. It’s a good gym

In the middle of Omicron Covid infection in the community, which is known to infect even the vaccinated and boosted, there is no requirement for mask wearing because they don’t want to offend or lose members. Early Jan 2022z. Walking ( with my mask on) on the track at 10 am, there were about 30 people in the court below playing ball, and few walking the track, all elderly and senior citizens. Not one person was wearing a mask !!!! I was praying for a good ventilation system. When asked at the front desk why they don’t mandate or encourage mask wearing. They said this is cedar knolls and there is no mandate! People can be stupid!

Beautiful new facility with very good equipment. The price is very reasonable compared to any other gym of this quality. The facility is clean and the equipment is fixed promptly when needed. There is never a wait for aerobic equipment. I have not experienced any rude behavior from the staff. In fact, I have forgotten my Kindle on the machines a couple of times and the desk staff has gone looking for it and saved it for me. I am surprised by the bad reviews. My family loves it here!

Great new facility with several areas to work out. Lots of classes offered. Family membership is a great value, with free child care for an hour in the morning.

Compared to box gyms this place is great. I’ve been coming here for the past 6-7 years at this point and I’ll say the staff is always kind. They also seem to be lgbtq friendly and straight friendly in how they treat everyone the same.

only thing i will say about this place that is crazy to me is why do i have to be 24 to use the women’s locker room. I’m 23 and i still have to go into the little girls locker room. Thats weird!!! Who came up with that??? I am a grown woman and there is only one bathroom in there and it is always soaking wet bc its right by the pool. At the very least make it 21+ or something. Anyways i love the classes and the instructors but i do wish there were more options that took place before/after the work day. I would love to go to one of those barre toning classes but they're at 11am on a tuesday are there people that can actually go to that?

The gym is amazing! The entire facility is top-notch and the workout area and pool are the best I’ve seen.
