Excellent museum showcasing a little local history/artifacts as well as from around the globe. Make sure to check out the circus room - it's exceptional. Completely handicap accessible and you'll need about 1.5 hours. Go and enjoy!

This is a nice museum that is not overkill and features local history in their own galleries. Some descriptions/photos brought back memories.

Really enjoyed our experience at the car museum. It doesn't have a massive assortment of cars. And a lot of the cars are from the same time period, 20's-40's. But, considering it's pretty much all from one man's collection, it's pretty impressive. What I like about this museum is that it's more than just a car show, like some other car museums. The walls are decked out with other car memorabilia to keep you interested.

Our first time to this museum. We attended a brown bag lunch to hear extra ordinary Jen Brumfield talk about birding on Lake Erie. Unfortunately, she had to bow out due to illness. Stark Parks staff stepped up and presented at last minute and did a stellar job. Disappointed that there were no outside handicapped parking! Need to keep website updated as the Soul Food exhibit was no longer available. Bummer. Appreciated the healthy food in their cafe.

This is a really cool place! I loved the art and especially appreciated the Sensory Room, which is perfect for my autistic daughter to unwind. A Massillon treasure!

We had a baby shower there this past weekend. Once we got past a small scheduling issue, we were given a breath taking room with an awesome view. The staff was so friendly and accommodating!!! We got the room setup quickly and all was well by the time the guests arrived. We thought the room was perfect and everyone had a great time.

Finally had a chance to visit Massillon Museum and I was not disappointed! Upon entry I was greeted and was given a rundown of what exhibitions were currently on view along with their locations (including where the restrooms are!) Between the rotating exhibition spaces and permanent collection, it was truly nice spending the afternoon perusing the building. In addition to the gallery spaces, there is also a gift shop and cafe which makes it a perfect place to visit and enjoy the arts for the day. Because I visited during the week I had no difficulty with parking as I was able to find a street parking spot for free as soon as my GPS said I had arrived. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend stopping in and checking out the work on view!

Nice museum, free of charge. Went on Thursday, parked right outside on the street, no fee. The circus display was my favorite, but I enjoyed all the art exhibits.

it's amazing that the Massillon museum does not charge admission. They help share local history as well as have amazing exhibits that help share culture and different forms of artistic expression with our community.

Very nice establishment, workers were all masked up and handing out mask for the event that we were there for. The atmosphere was art like and very clean.

Stopped in to fill some time before a show at the nearby theater and was quite impressed - will definitely be back when we have more time. Loved the exhibit on the Marching Band! It should be a permanent exhibit.

Heard about the museum through interest in a past exhibit about train monikers so I stopped. Small museum dedicated to Massillon's history. They did a nice job acknowledging past histories of the area.

I was disappointed in the selection of arifacts on display. Predominately photos. They did have an impressive display of circus paraphernalia. There is a new Native American display coming this summer. This may change my opinion. Staff was very friendly.

The Massillon Museum had great exhibits that I really enjoyed! And it's free, so if you are looking for something to do, it's a no brainer. Plus, they have the amazing Greatness Cafe located inside!

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The aesthetic is pleasingly historic. The book selection leaves a bit to be desired but this is made up for by the enjoyable atmosphere. If you like a library that makes you feel presidential, this is the place for you.

There is an awesome circus display all carved by Dr Immel. That alone is worth going to the museum.

What a fun experience. We went to the museum during the Candlelight Walk. I had never been and always wanted to go. Because of the walk they had cookies and hot beverages, so that was nice. They also let everyone walk around and vew the different exhibits. The best part was the carnivale exhibit they had. They had a HUGE miniature display that had the whole circus set out. They had stuff from the freakshows and an old set of clown shoes. I wish I wound have had more time to see more stuff. I dropped a star because a lady sitting by the local artist section told me no cookies allowed while we both watched people enter with food. She made me put my cookies in my pocket or throw them away. Was weird.

Spend a relaxing afternoon, or a great choice for a school field trip to study the history of Massillon, Ohio. Also learn all about the Championship Football teams this school has fielded for over 100 years.

The only reason my family and I went here is because my wonderfully talented awesome daughter had work on display here, because of that we found out that the Mass Mu is an amazing place, there are many many historical items on display and a vast array of talented artists as well. If you have never been here, I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

It was nice, I expected to see more Massillon History than they had. I know they have to rotate the exhibitions, so we will have to back another time.

My first experience with the Museum was their Island Experience. It was a great community experience with music, family activities, and a variety of beverage options. The staff was polite and professional. They were extremely knowledgeable about the exhibits and day to day operations of the museum. Rose in particular was great.

Nice variety of memorabilia and autos. Intense sunlight prevents viewing of video. Hard to take pictures because it is so crowded and not illuminated well.

I have only been on the outside would give it 5 stars if it actually said "Temporarily closed" on website because i drove up just to get slapped with a closed sign. But this place will more than likely be open especially around summertime I'd imagine and I'm sure it's worth it if you like old cars.

Do not be fooled by the outside. A lot of cool vintage cars, motorcycles, bicycles and toys inside.

  • 5/5 Sara B. 4 years ago on Google
This is by far one of the best museums in Ohio. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not filled with just classic cars, although their car collection is amazing! I easily spent about 2 hours in here, and still didn’t see everything they had to offer. Each room is filled with unique art, antiques, oddities, Ohio memorabilia, and so much more. But it’s all displayed perfectly, so much to look at without feeling cluttered. I can’t wait to go back. Visited with my dad and my teenage children and nobody was bored at any point.

Very cool place to visit when you cant be outdoors, can be through it in 30 min looking at the cars, or linger and look at the historical photos and memorabilia for hours.
