Delicious food! The plates are good portions and taste very good. The service was excellent, specially our waitress Lora. Even she was super busy and rush, always have a smile and take good care of our orders. Definitely coming back on next vacations!

This was a Monday 5:30 pm dinner. The place had plenty of seating and service was prompt and good. We ordered burgers and it was a good choice but for me it lacked what I call the wow factor, as compared with other burgers I had. I understand from friends who are here breakfasts that that meal of the day is awesome! I will have to go back!

The start of our patronage was not ideal we were placed into a 2-seater style half booth. Asked to be seated in a regular booth. Asked for coffee.. it was provided but my significant other received a full cup but I only received a half cup and the waitress took forever to come back to our table/provide refill....my pancakes were cold and not good...was not satisfied with the bacon, was less thn presentable....service overall was less thn desirable.....very disappointing 🙄🙁🙁

Good breakfast spot. Wasn't too crowded. Didn't have to wait to be seated. Good service. Food was all cooked well. Decor is your typical flashy neon diner type. Prices are reasonable.

Had a wonderful experience! The design of the diner is spectacular at sunset. Neon, “chrome”, and glass blocks, ’nuf said! Everyone was very friendly, even though busy on Saturday night. I enjoyed a perfect Cajun burger, perfectly cooked to my specifications. I concluded the meal with a delicious dessert, Baklava Cheesecake and coffee. I would definitely return!

Diners come in two flavors: loud, brassy, and kitschy, or dark and dingy. This one is of the first variety and also features very fast service and a large menu. We had breakfast which was filling and not too expensive.

Very much enjoyed our meal at the Capitol Diner! And our server Katya, was great, thank you!! I love a traditional diner, the decor, the shiny surfaces and the gigantic menus. Everything that we ordered was very good to excellent. Pancakes were big and fluffy, the hash browns were well cooked. The country fried steak was really terrific and the gravy was very flavorful! I loved it.

Cream chipped beef seriously packed meat. Breakfast burrito (photo open and closed burrito) was bland and lacked salsa and the sausage inside was flavorless good , attentive wait staff. Good stiff coffee.

Super fantastic. The best Hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Benedict I've had in 35 years. They actually serve properly prepared corn beef hash! 😀 Lots of parking!

Very good food and service. A fun diner to visit but not particularly historic. It's a 1980 DeRaffele Manufacturing Co. Diner that has been highly modified by United Diners at some point in the past. Worth a visit, especially at night with the neon lit up.

If you're looking for authentic, good diner food look no further. We were staying at a nearby hotel and ate here twice because it was so good. Service was excellent too!

This was my very first time here. The waitress was FANTASTIC, and the cream chipped beef(sos for the PA Dutch)was very good. I expected it to be from a can, but I was absolutely wrong. It's made "in house" I actually couldn't even finish it all. I ended up taking the waffle home, but it was SOOOO GOOD! I also got cheesecake to go on my way out, which was to die for, I would recommend stopping in here if you're ever in the area. Everything was so good, and everyone in there seemed to work as a well oiled machine. Definitely give it a try. I'm sure you won't regret it.

Clean diner with good food. Good service and clean bathrooms. Lots of options on the menu. Breakfast is served all day. Look like they had like 4 girls working and it's not that big of a place so that's Nice. Great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Had Thanksgiving dinner takeout meals for 3 for first time here . Only waited 5 minutes for curbside delivery. Food was surprisingly very good. Only drawback was that the gravy was on the salty side. Would definitely get dinners on Christmas if they're serving. No fuss, no mess! Loved it!

We met family here as it was convenient for them on their way from Lancaster to Harrisburg. We enjoyed wonderful service and a great atmosphere. Our youngest love the kids French toast as the kitchen staff gave her strawberry, banana and whipped cream - just the way she likes it. The adults tried various omelettes and they were all good with generous portions. One of us had the baked oatmeal and it was delicious as well. I don’t think you can go wrong at the Capitol diner for a hearty breakfast. Thanks!

So delicious! I highly recommend this diner when passing through Harrisburg. It’s conveniently located, and the food was so good! I had the crab melt sandwich, which came with my chicken noodle soup (my choice), chips, slaw & a pickle. My friend had the Trio Salad (egg, tuna & chicken). Yum!

Capital Diner is one of the few places where you never have to worry about leaving hungry! The menu has a perfect amount of items to choose from, the Senior menu selections are awesome, and the Friday Cream of Crab soup is very addictive! This past week, we were given a sign that Capital Diner is the pot of gold at the end of God’s rainbow!

Title: A Quaint Gem with Great Food and Charming Atmosphere Restaurant: Capitol Diner Location: Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Food: The food at Capitol Diner exceeded my expectations. I tried the pancakes, Philly cheese sandwich, and a milkshake, and overall, it was a satisfying culinary experience. The milkshake was exactly what you would expect from a diner, thick and creamy. The Philly cheese sandwich was a standout, surpassing the quality of most similar dishes I've had before, especially considering it came from a diner. However, the pancakes were average, neither exceptional nor disappointing. Service: The service at Capitol Diner was impeccable and played a significant role in making our visit memorable. The owner, whom I believe was the one attending to the guests, went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. He approached our table multiple times, genuinely interested in our well-being and eager to strike up a conversation. We shared our day's adventures, including a visit to Hershey Park and attending a wedding, and he took the time to engage with us. The waitress was equally fantastic, attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Atmosphere: The true charm of Capitol Diner lies in its delightful atmosphere. It successfully captures the essence of a bygone era, radiating a quaint and "old-fashioned" ambiance. While the decor may evoke nostalgia, there was no sense of anything being outdated or run down. I can't express enough how much I wish more restaurants would embrace this style and bring back the joy it offers. The combination of warm hospitality, cozy surroundings, and a touch of nostalgia created a truly unique dining experience. Overall: Our visit to Capitol Diner left us thoroughly satisfied. From the exceptional service to the well-prepared food, everything exceeded our expectations. The cleanliness of the establishment and the kindness of the staff further enhanced our dining experience. If I ever find myself in the Harrisburg area again, Capitol Diner would undoubtedly be at the top of my list for a return visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a delightful meal in a charming and hospitable setting.

My first time at this diner and I have to say impressed. I got the creamed beef and it was awesome. But what made it even better is our waitress Sonia. She was smiling and pleasant and friendly and on top of her game. Food came quickly she checked on us to see if we needed our drinks refreshed. Because of her I will definitely be back!

The service was good but the food was even better. The French toast, Buffalo wings, sweet potato fries, are just a few of my favorite. The kids menu came with a beverage, and dessert.

Fast service! Breakfast was good. The toasted rye bread was exceptional....def an artisian bakery bread of some sort. Hashbrows were amazing - had a nice crisp to them and not soggy! A little pricey...a cup of coffee was almost $3. Not the best breakfast I have had but not the worst!
