I was overexcited and full of hope as I was waiting in a 45 minutes long queue outside this Iconic restaurant. I visited connaught place a few times and always long queue prevented me from entering this. This time, I waited patiently only to be disappointed by pretty much everything. The atmosphere was 'meh' and the staff was understaffed and hence the service was poor. I could let all these things go but the atmosphere, particularly the seatings and cutlery were below par. Food came; I tasted the food and I'm sorry, but I was not impressed with the food. I found it to be lacking in both taste and presentation. Overall, I was hoping for a more satisfying dining experience.

This place has been a regular dine-in place for my family and, me for six years. And, our order varies from masala dosa, plain dosa, shakes, Bon Bon Chocolat, Mini tiffin, and, Uttapam. I personally love the "red" chutney and, sambar. Though, the quality of the food was best than ever but, the staff could have been a bit more co-operative and, were a bit slow. Mini tiffin consisted of mini idlis submerged in sambhar with a small dosa with chutney and, green one and, Kesar halwa with poha. It is a great pick for you to eat and, can be seen as a mini south Indian thali. Saravana is a satisfactory place to eat South Indian cuisine. Overall, it was wonderful to experience.

For pure & authentic South Indian Food this is the best place in Delhi one could have. Reasonable Rates. Top notch quality. All south Indian food, Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner available. Must try their locally made sweets they are really dissolve in your mouth instantly. Lunch & Dinner are the peak time where you could face rush & waiting too. We tried South Indian Thai which had 16 items in small quantity but as a whole thali I could hardly have had it. Dosa was great. This restaurant has global chains & famous for their historic south Indian flavour dishes. Parking (paid) is available Card payment available. Restroom should be spacious & Gender based separately. Must try. Highly recommended.

I Visited This Place Yesterday With My Family. We Ordered Corn Cheese Uttapam, Butter Roast Masala Dosa, Onion Rava Masala Dosa, Cheese Veg Dosa And Butterscotch Shake. They serve South Indian, Beverages, Desserts And Juices. Their Location: P-13, Connaught Circle, Cannaught Place, New Delhi Corn Cheese Uttapam: First Time I Tried Their Corn Cheese Uttapam And It Was So Yummy, Cheesy And Tasty. It Was Made With Lots Of Veggies And Cheese. It Was Served With Three Types Of Chutney And Sambhar. Highly Recommended. Taste: 5/5 Butter Roast Masala Dosa: This is one of my fav dosa because it is different from other dosa. It was so crispy, buttery and yummy. They served dosa with 3 types of chutney and sambhar. I really Loved It. Highly Recommended. Taste: 5/5 Cheese Veg Dosa: It Was Good But Not So Cheesy. There Was Less Cheese In Quantity. Cheese Veg Dosa Was Much Better In Janpath Outlet Than CP. Not Recommended For CP Outlet. Taste: 2/5 Onion Rawa Masala Dosa: First Time I Tried This. And It Was So Yummy. Must Try. Taste: 5/5 Butterscotch Shake: It Was Yummy. But It Was Not Tasted Like Butterscotch Shake. Taste: 3.5/5 Ambience: Ambience was good. Place was neat and clean. They Have Huge Space For Sitting; Ground Floor, First Floor, Second Floor & Third Floor Ambience: 5/5 Service: Service Was good. Staff was polite and courteous. Service: 5/5 Overall a good place to hangout with friends and family. One of the best place for dosa. I really loved their dosa specially their butter roast masala dosa. They have so many other varities of dosa and serve with 3 types of chutney. I have visited this place so many times before and always had a great experience But This Time I Was Little Disappointed. I Didn't Like Their Dosa Much. Hope So, Next Time Whenever I Will Visit The Place I Would Again Love Their Dosa.

Saravana Bhavan offers an authentic South Indian dining experience with flavorful dishes and a vibrant ambiance. We ordered the Mini Tiffin in breakfast which includes mini idlies dipped in sambhar, masala dosa, pongal, sheera and two types of coconut chutneys. Everything was well prepared however I particularly liked the pongal much. The service is quick and efficient. Highly recommended for those craving traditional South Indian cuisine.

This place now deserves a negative rating. The quality taste and hygiene nothing is taken care off. Could not eat even half of my food, sheer waste of time and money. I’ve attached pic of a mini tiffin thali, before n after, the spoon were dripping water like halwai ki dukan p bas pani se nikal diye ho, also the very basic masala dosa bhi nahi kha sakte Yaha, aloo stuffing was like boiled yellow meetha aloo, jo aap kabhi ghar m nahi laate, jitna b sasta ho. Also I guess long queues are a marketing gimmick there was ample space still they were holding queues. I would never come back neither would recommend anyone to go.

Awesome food and always i mean always you have to wait. In evening minimum 30 min wait. The reason cheap food and awesome taste. This place is surrounded by other excellent eateries still people flock to this. This itself is the indicator of affordability and quality.

Saravana Bhavan is a beautiful place for South Indian cuisine that is filled with the aroma of Ghee and myriad spices. We ordered mini tifin with chai It was steaming hot and delicious. during my morning walk visit @ Cp with my Daughter. This is a highly recommended authentic South Indian restaurant situated in Connaught Place. Always a lot of waiting time here, minimum 30 minutes. But the food is undoubtedly good. You can order any South Indian food including combo meals. This restaurant provides North Indian food as well so you can try that also but I suggest South Indian food. Food was awesome and specially if you are vegetarians.

Well it is crowded all the time and it has waiting too I don’t know what for. The food quality was fine and the dosa was very much crispy. The sambar and chutney was not upto the mark. The service was good and the atmosphere was not upto the mark. The NAIVEDYAM next to it is much better

Authentic tamilian food. Same taste as I had in Chennai. All dishes like dosa, idli, and sambhar are tasty. Bit Overcrowded. There is a waiting time. Little costly if you compare with restaurants in south India. 2 dosa + 1 idli plate cost 500+ Same you can get within 200/- Anyways Go for it... This taste we usually don't get in North.

This is a highly recommended authentic South Indian restaurant situated in Connaught Place. You can order any South Indian food including combo meals. This restaurant provides North Indian food as well so you can try that also but I suggest South Indian food. Food was awesome and specially if you are vegetarians. Good place for family outings. The only disadvantage is that the waiting time is too long because of less seating capacity specially on weekends so if you are going on weekends then reserve your seat on the restaurant gate and you have to wait for at least 20-30 minutes outside the restaurant.

A must go place for South indian food lovers. This is a place Where you can find amazing South indian food even if you have few bucks in your pocket and still come out with bellyful. In frame - masala dosa ( their pocket friendly dosas are scrumptious ) filled with mildly sauted potato filling and served with tasty sambhar and 3 types of chutneys. They have a large variety of dosas, butter dosa, ghee dosa, rava dosa etc, all of which give a very rich taste. They do have some fusion dosas as well in their menu and if you want to try, go for the not so usual dosas. If you really are a vegetable lover you can also try their mixed uttapam as it is really tasty but a bit spicy (served with sambhar and 3 types of chutney, as served with dosas) This is not it, if you are bored from uttapam and dosa or idli, try their dahi vada ( vada served in sweet chilled yogurt topped with some boondi and coriander ) which again is quite tasty Last but not the least, buttermilk which was made with ginger, curry leaves , coriander and green chilly It was heavy but tasty and savoury at the same time. Ambience is good but it could have been better. If you visit in evening you may find some rush and have to wait for few minutes before you get to eat some really tasty South Indian food. Inspite of the recent event in which a lizard was found in the sambhar, I believe that it was not done intentionally, it can happen anywhere else too and may go unnoticed that's why, there's no need to worry for the same. This place is completely hygienic and never intends to serve bad food. So go there and enjoy the amazing food.

If you want to eat proper South Indian dishes, this is the best place for you. The food is too good, and they have a variety of dishes. The only drawback is you have to wait for atleast 1hr as the que of the eaters is too high. Online payment options are available. The price is nominal too, and their hospitality is great.

After a long hiatus, my wife and I revisited the iconic Sarwana Bhawan in Connaught Place and were delighted to find that the experience was like catching up with an old friend. We dined there on a weekday evening and had to wait for around 15 minutes. We ordered dosa, ghee pongal, rawa pongal, and a refreshing mint-based drink, all of which tasted good and were served promptly. However, I couldn't help but feel that the food tasted better on my previous visits, perhaps due to my more refined taste buds honed by sampling dishes across India over the past decade. It's possible that the quality may have declined slightly as well. Nonetheless, Sarwana Bhawan remains an excellent option for families seeking authentic South Indian cuisine at a restaurant.

Saravana Bhavan is a beautiful place for South Indian cuisine that is filled with the aroma of Ghee and myriad spices. We ordered Ghee Roast Masala Dosa, Podi Idli (which was served as mini Idli dipped in Sambhar with no Podi Masala, no clue why!), Buttermilk, and Filter Coffee. The taste is nice and their service is awesome. The staff is courteous and professional. It is a great place to satiate your hunger at a reasonable price.

I never had such tasty South Indian food before and even after, I have been here many times and their taste and quality is at the top, they take care of hygiene. The way they serve on a tree leaf gives a feeling of South Indian. I have never seen this place empty, their is always a waiting line whenever I went their but all that wait is worth it when the food is served on our table.

Bangalore doesn't have branches of Sarvana bhavan, and have been hearing about this place from all my delhi friends. Decided to go for dinner during my visit to Connaught place. I was very disappointed with the overpriced, low quality food, pathetic service and hour of waiting time. If you have tasted dosa from any southern joint please skip sarvana bhavan. Pathetic service was the least I was expecting from such a renowned brand. After waiting for more than 1 hour outside the restaurant and another 1 more hour inside for the cold food to arrive at the table, and when asked for rasam, straight away rejected "sir not included with dosa", even when I told I am ready to pay for it. You go to any small, big dosa outlet in Bangalore you can get any side dish with smiling face. Dosa was okayish, medu wada was undercooked, rava masala dosa was pathetic, uthapam was undercooked, paneer masala dosa was good but came after very long time so experience was already diminished. Overall pathetic experience at renowned Sarvana bhavan!!

Really nice hearty south indian place which is iconic to say the least. Food is awesome and that's why there is waiting on a Sunday Morning as well. Mini Tiffin thali, Rava Masala Dosa, Uttapam and Curd Vada along with Filter Coffee were part of our order. Only if they can reduce the price a little bit and speed up the service.

Have been vising this place for more than 17yrs. It is my go to place for authentic South Indian food. They serve variety of dosas uttapam and rice. Not all variety rice is served everyday they have rice of the day, only curd rice is served everyday along with rice of the day. The unlimited thali is super loaded thali and more than enough for one person but sadly they don't allow sharing. Mini tiffin is a good option as it has a small dosa, small uttapam idli vada and pongal so a little portion of all breakfast item in a platter. Yes last but not the least don't forget the spl filter kappi to end it on a sweet note 😊Once again their servings are quite sufficient and at the same time they are very reasonably priced.

Oh the craze and love for this place! Food is authentic south Indian, oh so delicious. It's THE PLACE FOR SOUTH INDIAN FOOD LOVERS. Must visit!!! Totally Recommended. Family friendly, pocket friendly, great staff, nice atmosphere..Absolutely worth every single second of waiting to get a table outside. Yes, you'll have to register your name to a guy standing outside and then wait for your turn to come. It may take 20-30 minutes depends on the queue. There's no online reservation you'll have to appear there physically and they'll call your name on the turn if you don't show up in the 3 time call it's considered cancelled since this branch is very busy. Trust me it's worth it. You may order on Swiggy as well.

If you want to experience South Indian food this restaurant will never disappoint you. They took hygiene really very seriously so dont worry about this aspect as well. Staff is very professional They have some awesome seasonal Juice, shakes/smoothies, Sweets as well. If you are visiting for lunch after 2-2:30pm you can find 10-15 minutes waiting. Seating arrangements are also very comfortable. Apart from waiting most probably you will not find any other complaint, I visited so many times at least I never find any other complaint. I hope you will enjoy your time here.

Brace yourself for a long waiting period of 20-30 minutes (at all times) before you get an entry. But the dosa is amicable. I had masala dosa and rava onion dosa. Both of them were delicious. Additionally, their all three chutneys are tasty. You can request upto 2 refills of sambhar before they charge you.

Mouth watering aroma fills the air when you enter the restaurant. One of the best South Indian cuisine and varities of chutneys for each dish you order makes your tummy feel happy. Long queues of people waiting patiently and the food served with authentic flavours ensures the the wait worth a while. Idli vada sambar, rava dosa, masala dosa are some of the most wanted food round the clock. South Indian thaali and North Indian thaali are also unique and in demand by the food lovers .

They have hundreds of world-class south Indian restaurants all over the World from New York to New Delhi, serving best quality authentic south Indian vegetarian delicacies at the right price point. Food is not just tasty, but also freshly made by trained Chefs. They don't use cloud kitchens like other global restaurant chains and everything is made fresh and served within minutes. Hence such food is good for the health too.

Decent place serving south indian food at indecent prices ....the onion masala dosa was strange ...the potato mix inside was not cooked but hastily put together mashed potato with chopped onions .....

It takes a bit to get table for your group, since place is very famous for the food is mostly crowded. Good ambience, you can also pick sweets from here. I'd highly recommend this place.

If you want to try South Indian food, you should visit Saravana Bhavan. However, be prepared that currently due to covid restrictions seating capacity has reduced, so you have to wait for your turn. You can also order your food from here if you don't want to wait in the queue. I had rava dhosa and masala uttapam. Rava dhosa was cripy and the green chutney was finger licking good, I didn't like the sambar as it wasn't authentic. The Uttapam was small in regards to the cost but I was not disappointed by the taste. As a beverage I oder Special Milk and expected to have a something different in regards to the taste but I was disappointed. First, it was just booked milk and without any flavor and second the quantity was less. Overall, if you want to try Dhosa, Idli or Uttapam visit this place, you'll not be disappointed.

I heard a lot about this place that hotel Saravana Bhawan offers the best South Indian Food in Delhi and other parts in country so decided to give it a try. The overall ambience and staff is really very good proper hygiene maintained inside the Restaurant even seating arrangements also done according to Government norms. Now coming to the taste I tried their Masala Dosa Badam Halwa and Mysore Pak the taste was above average not the best one can say but it's good. Their Masala Dosa was good and I can't find much difference in taste when compare to other South Indian Restaurants in Delhi NCR. Badam Halwa was really very good and was full of Ghee and I like it the most. But their Mysore Pak disappointed me a lot it was not even in the race of Mysore pak available in other shops in Delhi the worst Mysore Pak I have ever tasted. You can go to Saravana Bhawan once for a while only for their ambiance and cleanliness but you can find tastier South Indian food in so many places nearby.

  • 4/5 Karan P. 2 years ago on Google
Nice restaurant. But have to wait for some time to get seat as there are less seats available. Food was good but the size of uttapam was a little small.

Hotel Saravana Bhavan is the largest South Indian  restaurant chain in the world, founded in 1981 with ₹5,000 capital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. They are having variety of cultural foods with delicious taste. They serves well. The hotel staff is also good and welcoming. Highly recommended place to visit and spend time with family and friends.

The place is good and food is ok but if I compare it with price then not upto the mark. But if see the location where it is then maintaining that amount is also imp. So overall it was ok. I like their cheese dosa and sambhar.

I was highly disappointed after having dinner here. The taste has deteriorated alot and its not even near to what one will get at their outlet in Chennai. A thumbs down from my side. If one has eaten dosa, idli, pongal, sambhar etc in Chennai / Bengaluru she / he will surely not like their food

Good authentic south indian food. However, they can improve seating experience by some renovation or change of furniture, which is better in their nearby Janpath outlet. Be ready for some waiting time for entry in either outlets.

Last week I was here , one of my favourite place to have some good south indian food! I love their ghee masala dosa and the thali , these are my recommendations . You may get crowd in weekends and in morning hours but you'll get in after 15-20 mins wait. Service here is quite fast so no complaints here , the place is a bit noisy because it's always full. Rates are reasonable and after your meal do try the filter coffee you'll love it.

I have never visited southern part of the country so don't know what does mean by "authentic" south Indian meal, but this restaurant offers undoubtedly the best dosa in the world!

  • 4/5 Mankad Meet H. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel Saravanan Bhavan is no doubt unmatchable to taste the authentic South Indian dishes. On my visit to the restaurant at Cannought place Delhi, i found following observations. 1. Rate can be more competitive. 2. In some dishes they are providing much less quantity in comparison to the charge of the dish. 3. Minimum Quantity of Sambhar, Chutney is provided with the dish. Extra is charged for more money. Which is against the tradition of Tamilnadu Food and restaurant. 4. They have much traffic during evening you need to wait outside the restaurant. 5. Cleanliness is good but they have scope of improvement. 6.Digital payment is accepted. 7. Its a good place if you are ready to spend good time with delicious south indian taste, though with bit High rate you should sure visit the place.

In love with there Rasam and papad. Rasam was soo tasty everytime I order they bring the same taste. And the rava onion dosa is too cripsy. It is a very reasonable restaurant and the portion they serve is amazing. Good quality good food. My favourite restaurant for Authentic south indian cousine.

  • 4/5 Prashant T. 2 years ago on Google
The best place to enjoy the authentic South Indian food. They've various dishes in their menu from where you can choose what to have. They serve different varieties of Dosas, Idlis, Wadas and Thalis (various preparation served on single plate) on a very reasonable price. This place is always busy..so you can expect little waiting but I'm assuring you that its worth waiting. The staff is nice and vibe is really calm where you can enjoy your food.

  • 4/5 Suman K. 1 year ago on Google
You have to register your name before entering the restaurant... average waiting time is around 30 min.... The Quality of food is good! But when I ordered Butten Masala roast Dosa they put the masala very less. Also it was crunchy and taste was good I was not satisfied with masal they have given.... For three people it cost me around 500 Rs...so given in a place like Connought place it's very less....

One of the affordable South Indian restaurant in town. Authentic South Indian dishes with a great taste is served on your table. Foods are fresh, served hot and tastes great. Sambhar and variety of chutneys are the major USPs. Hot filter coffee is my all time favourite. They have small sweet counter with Kerala and south Indian delicacies. Do try Mysore Pak, it tastes great. There are waiting queue most of the time, I prefer to go early at 8.

  • 2/5 savio d. 8 months ago on Google
This place in my opinion has been a total hype. We had visited here recently and found the food to be average. We had ordered ghee rawa roast dosa, butter masala dosa, banana bhaji and halwa. The ghee roast rawa dosa was no doubt crispier but taste wise felt it could have been better. We could not feel the ghee at all and the same was with butter dosa. Only best thing was the green chutney which was really out of the world. Less said about the Banana bhaji the better, had much better Banana bhajis in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Last of all the halwa they gave so less quantity and charged Rs 100 which was really shocking. I have been to so many south Indian outlets in Mumbai which gives way too much quantity at the same cost and even better taste. Overall really disappointed to be honest and the service I feel could have been better..

Have been here twice for dinner (on Mondays) and the experience has been amazing! South Indian thali was my choice during the first visit and Chettinad Masala Dosa & Almond-Mint Nannari the second time. Love the food both times. Staff is efficient and kind. Place is clean despite being crowded. Gonna go a third time to try idli and uttapams. Authentic south Indian at reasonable prices and great portions.

  • 3/5 Atul B. 8 months ago on Google
I have visited this place 3-4 times during 2019-23. But my recent visit was not up to the mark as there was a very long queue and the taste of the food was deteriorated. The upper floor area is closed. The congestion might be the reason for the degradation in the taste of the item.

  • 4/5 Mrs. S. 4 months ago on Google
Went to this place in CP Ordered a plate of Idli vada. It was steaming hot and delicious. Being a south Indian and already visiting Saravana Bhavans in south, found this to be over pricey.
