I always had the desire to explore something more than the usual Dosa, Vada and idli that I've always been used too. Mahabelly changes all that The restaurant helps you take a trip down south while being very much in the capital city but mayn is the food HOT!!! Definitely tell the concerned person taking your order to make it less spicy if you're not very good with spice since the dishes in itself would make u sweat. Apart from that i absolutely loved the flavours, I've been a fan of their parottas and beef with coconut and their mutton biryani Their chicken chettinad is the less spicy one out of the lot, rich and goes well with the parota. Sharjah shake also is nice and thick Loved the experience here. The seating is limited so do make a reservation!! Kudos to the Mahabelly Definitely had a mahabelly after a hearty meal here haha :)

Mahabelly is amazingly authentic. It's is nice Kerala food/cuisine restaurant in DLF place premises. Situated on ground floor, just behind Haldiram's (just opposite to DLF Saket's back side parking entrance). The moment you enter, there is a traditional aura that you feel. It's better to reserve your table on heavy days as there is usually a waiting time. The restaurant has a sitting capacity of around 45 people and they have managed it so very well in a medium sized space. Very very well ventilated, relaxing Malayalam music, fresh fragrances, cordial staff, traditional interiors make you feel that you are in Kerala for a moment. The food is so purely authentic and the aroma of care, precision and love from the food woos your heart. All the items in snacks, main course, and drinks are heaven to taste buds. Rarely you would find such restaurant in Delhi (a couple are good in Gurgaon as well). Pretty affordable with good portions. Perfect for a date (your gf/wife will love you all the more), family dinning, casual catch up with friends (as bar is very nice) or taking your parents/kids to show them real Kerala cuisine. Crowd fall is pretty intelligence and intellectual here. We had lovely time having Chicken Chettinad, Porotta, Karimeen Pollichathu, Appam, Payasam, Lime Soda and couple of more items. The hygeine is well maintained and washrooms are very clean as expected. You can also read cookery books there while waiting for your food. This one should be high in spot light for your next lunch/dinner guys.

Visited Mahabelly with lot of Expectatons. Got porotta which was not soft, was soo hard. They don't serve Kerala Meals. Need to order rice & curry separately. Kozhuva fry was nice. Mutton curry was tasty. And very costly - We paid INR 2900 for 2person. They should serve descent food according to price. I am not satisfied with food & service i got.

I had read and heard lots of good things about Mahabelly and it was on my list of places to eat at for a long time. Well happy to say I wasn't disappointed... It lived up to all the great reviews it had received and how... The staff was friendly and helpful with their suggestions. We kind of already knew what we wanted but their suggestions helped us narrow down our choices... the dishes we ordered were exactly how I had expected them to taste... the buff fry, the fish moilee were simply delectable... I'm definitely coming back for more

Heard and read a lot about this restaurant over the Internet and from friends wo decided to give it a shot, As per the reviews posted, the restaurant did not met my expectations food wise. Tried Chettinad Chicken and Parrota there and specifically asked to make it spicy but to my dismay it was sweet in taste. The ambience and vibe is all very good and waiters were cordial and helpful in nature. You might have to wait up for the seat in peak hours and I suggest you to reserve a table beforehand. The price are on a little expensive side and since it does not meet the expectations of taste, so it's kinda disappointed. All in all its a good place of you're craving for authentic South Indian food but don't like Dosa. P.S. They also add service charge in the total amount, but you can ask them in advance to not imply it.

Loved the ambience and the atmosphere. The restaurant is located behind the DLF Avenue Mall, Saket. You'll need some reservation to get a seat in the restaurant, otherwise you have to wait for the seat to be vacant. Food quality is just OK. But its VERY VERY costly. You'll get the same south indian food with same quality from many more places with half the price or even less than half price. I felt they're exploiting the nostalgia of mallus😄 (Pazham pori with honey 180Rs. Nte ponn chetta!!😂) Some beverage option is also there with toddy and some other alcoholic drinks. I didn't try those and not commenting on that. Otherwise the restaurant is nice. It'll be very great if you consider aout the price so that we also consider about to come there again!!😊

This place is a treat for non vegetarians and those who would want to experience variety of South Indian food especially from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. They serve within 10-15 mins. Attitude is good. If you're visiting weekend it might be Crowded. Better to take a prior table booking to avoid waiting. Must try are Kizhi Parotta, Squid Fry, Idiyappam, Puttu and Aapam.

Awesome brunch. Chethu chicken fry was very good. And the Malabar fish curry was worth every penny spent and also the special chicken dum biryani. Lastly delicious and scrumptious desert.

When you're craving for some Malayali food and Toddy, just head to Mahabelly. I tried the Chicken 65, Prawn Biriyani, Veg Kurma, Appam, and a Mango-Pineapple Cocktail. And, I cannot choose my favourite in them. The flavors are upto the mark with authentic Kerelan cuisine. Will be back for more.

We ordered chicken Chettinad with parotta for the main course, it was nothing extra ordinary. I have had better chicken Chettinad elsewhere. The chicken pieces had no meat on them. The food was too little and over priced so we had to order another dish due to the lack of quantity. Overall, the ambience of the place is very basic and the food is nothing great. We had been waiting to try to this place but it turned out to be below our expectations.

Honest Review! Clean and Nice ambiance! But restaurants are ment for the taste of foods in primary place. I visited second time this place because this is the one and only clean malayali restaurant in delhi. Food taste is horrible (based on my order = biriyani) never order a biriyani here! Price is not an issue since they provide nice ambience and the location itself in a porch area. But Biriyani is totally waste! Day before yesterday I got a biriyani (heated in Oven) which was not well heated, some part of rice were giving me the real feel of refrigerator. Kulukki Sarbath was average and (Beef roast + porotta was good (not excellent) feed back from my wife) Suggestion to Mahabelly : Appoint some good cook and manage your restaurant well focused in the taste of food! (I had a talk with my other malayali frienda in delhi and all said the same about you)

We had a lot of expectations while visiting this place and we were fairly satisfied with regards to taste of the food but half satisfied with the price worth ratio . We had the Kizhi Porotta, Kothu Porotta and Biriyani & out of this Kizhi Porotta is the only stuff which I would have again as it was juicy and spicy & above all our expectation. The staff were decent and cooperative & really did know how to explain a dish. Now the cost of items seems to be a bit over the top considering the fact that the same items are available in other restraunts across Delhi for much less. Also in case of Mahabelly it's just the location that justifies the cost but the interior feels not up to the mark for a restaurant which is charging a price marginally high compared to other restaurants offering good Kerala food. While totally appreciating the efforts taken by the restaurant owner to create a Michelin Star authentic Kerala food experience I would still suggest that they should look into the price worth ratio & improve the overall experience if they plan to maintain the same price point.

Visited this place on a weekday for dinner, ordered a fish fry, chicken 65, kanyakumari cocktail Fish fry was really good, actually I order this dish everytime I visit this place, but this particular time it wasn't that great Chicken 65 was good, The quantity and taste was good, it was worth the price, Cocktail was nicely served and was really good, It a must visit!!

Firstly, they do not serve dosa/idli on the weekend which was strange. But as for the food - it was sumptuous, we ordered buff curry and potato roast with paratha and it was a delight. Clean and good ambience. Although not too many veg options, consider that if you're planning a visit.

Ambience- 10/10. Service- 10/10 Food- well, I am a foodie and have tried Malyali food many times. There are better restaurants than Mahabelly (just my opinion). Rate is affordable; however, not entirely happy with their dishes. 5/10.

  • 3/5 Kushagra G. 3 years ago on Google
It was a nice experience and the food was also fine. However the restaurant might do even better if they spruce up the ambience and maybe work on the presentation of food a little bit more. Otherwise definitely a good option if you want to try a different cuisine.

  • 5/5 Mukul V. 3 years ago on Google
Good ambience with good selection of menu. Services are quite prompt. Better if you do pre booking and go otherwise you might have to stay to get the table.

  • 5/5 Abhishek S. 3 years ago on Google
Great place to dinner and great food. Even the service was top notch. So we had kerala parota ,prawns, mutton curry, sulaimani. But the sulaimani was not what we expected. Being used to seeing the ustad hotel sulaimani we expected the same but the sulaimani was served in a stainless steel glass instead of tea glass due to which it was pretty hard to take sips of the tea. Well to sum it all up a great kerala restaurant with great food and ambiance. Hope this review helps and you also enjoy the food as much as I did :)

The place is Too expensive for the ambience and the food quality or the quantity. The food taste is OK sorta. Nothing exclusive or out of the ordinary. Also GUNPOWDER IDLI, that is just horrible. Never ever have it in the restaurant. Better look for other choices.

  • 4/5 Shiju s. 3 years ago on Google
Rate wise too costly. I suggest you should visit here atleast with 5 members because they have fixed quantity and the quantity is good for minimum 5 members. No doubt abt quality you will enjoy their dishes.

Key word- Consistency Always a delightful experience. While the selection for Non vegetarians is quite alright, the rather limited menu for Vegetarians (especially in the Mains) is a bit of a let down. Perhaps the usual suspects such as Mysore Masala Dosa or Udupi Style Rava Masala can be added for a fuller vegetarian selection. Recommended Dishes to try @ Mahabelly: 1. Fish Cutlets 2. Prawn Mango Curry 3. Mutton Biryani 4. Appams with Stew or Kurma 5. Chicken Stew in Coconut Milk Curry 6. Payasam (Desert) Special Mention: Enjoy their Caramel Custard after the meal. It tastes divine !

Good food. If you have a taste for Kerala cuisine, go ahead and you won't be disappointed. We tried the pork fry (AMAZING!!), mutton dosa, appam, malabar parotta and egg curry. The curry was finger-licking good. The food was heavy and we left the place with a big smile!

As always, the food was fabulous. The boneless Ilish paturi is to die for, all that succulence and that decadent, authentic Ilish taste without the bones; a blessing for children. Have been visiting their outlets since they opened in Bombay, and they haven’t let us down a single time. Service is personalised and warm and welcoming. In these times of pandemic, their delivery service has been exemplary too. Thank you guys pls keep up the good work.

Had ordered food yesterday. The pabda fish was so small and the preparation absolutely sub standard! The kosha mangsho was wanting in flavour. The crab was very average! The only thing that was kind of decent was the Mochar chop and Chingri cutlet. I am a Bengali and frankly, would be embarrassed to call this good Bong food! Truly a waste of money. Have eaten here several times in the past- but clearly standards have fallen! Sad...

Recently, during lockdown, we had ordered food online from Oh Calcutta, New Delhi outlet. It appears that they have outsourced their food to some 3rd party as the quality was terrible and not commensurate with their reputation. I would strongly advise against ordering food from them online as we can never be sure where they are sourcing their food from.

I was told they serve authentic South Indian food (couldn't really judge that as it was my first time trying!) The food was good, with generous portions, though I didn't like the fish curry. But don't expect to get bold over by their biryani though, nothing special. Overall, good dining experience!

Great place to visit you are looking for Kerala foods. I have tried Dum Biriyani on weekend and visited again for that. But the ordinary biriyani was little disappointing. It was like ghee rice + chicken roast = chicken biriyani. But kizhi porotta (chicken) was splendid. Also the lime juice gives me home like feeling. Last time we had squid pepper fry, tastes good. Overall it's a good fooding place. Last but not least, i am a fan of their lemon pickle, must try.
