I love this restaurant! The service is fantastic, and the food is delicious. We always get a whole duck when we go, and there is always some leftover soup that I use to enhance other dishes. The dim sum is delicious, especially the har gao topped with caviar. This is one of my favorite restaurants in New Delhi.

I guess you are not a valued customer if solo traveler. Great service for large tables but not me. I had to beg for a 2nd cup of tea and would have ordered more but the tea was so much I’m giving up. Sizzling rice was lame and had better rice out of a food truck. Lamb was yummy! Totally disappointed by experience. Didn’t even get dim sum because I was ignored!

Shang Palace in Shangri-La is speciality Chinese restaurant. It's on the ground floor and ambience furniture furnishings is good. Food is good and quantity is good too. But prices are much higher and when you look at prices, food and presentation is no way near best. Staff is very well dressed in Chinese attire and they are very soft and attentive.

If you are dim sum lover then this is the place to be. From food to service to ambience everything was 10 on 10👌 Suggest you go with empty Stomch to try their dim sum bufet. The variety is vast and they all taste different and is yummy. The Jasmin tea is very flavourful. I really enjoyed the mochi ice cream. In short a must try!

The food is very good and the service was fantastic. But some dishes are extremely overpriced, the plain rice costs over 700 rupees, which is too much even for a more elevated restaurant.

Service needs to be improved in a good rated hotel, one doesn't need to ask for things repeatedly, rather it should be arranged pro actively. Food was decent, atmosphere was nice but service was poor. Overall did not enjoy the experience.

Good food but shamefully slow and inept service. No tables have been assigned to staff. You really have to struggle to get someone's attention. All restaurants at Shangri La NewDelhi are painfully inadequately staffed or managed, but Shang Palace takes it to another level. One feels bad for the staff as they always seem hassled and overworked. But that shouldn't be the concern of a guest. The food is authentic and at par with most other Shang Palace outposts around the world. Please sort out your service. It's a shame such good food is messed up by constant shoddy service.

The food was great for the most part. The cocktail selection was limited but good. The service was a hit or miss though, when we would actually get food, the servers would always be really nice and polite but sometimes it would take unnaturally long time for the simplest of things and we would have to remind them multiple times. The overall experience was still pretty nice! Highly recommend getting the pork buns and Anunaki cocktail!

Pathetic attitude of the lady at the front desk. Made a reservation and informed her well before that I was running 30 mins late in traffic. She bluntly refused to hold the reservation even though I informed well in time. When I asked to speak to a manager she kept me on hold for 20 mins and no response. PATHETIC!

Sahil Arora the new executive chef of Shangri-La is one of the coolest chef around. I met him almost five years back at Marriott Jaipur and has been following him since then. The ongoing crustacean crush is a food promotion which has Delhi never experienced before. I have been told by their dynamic team of chefs that they get their daily quota of seafood from Kochi and the sweet and delicious crab which I ate was from chilka lake orrisa.  A festival you can’t miss simply because you will never get these kind of seafoods in delhi.

Went here for dinner on a corporate meet and greet invite. While I enjoyed the experience, the Chinese isn't necessarily that good that I'd spend a small fortune to eat here. The food was great though. Loved the dumplings, and the pulled lamb served with rice. The vibe is simply upscale, with a black and gold colour palate.

Went here for their special Dimsum lunch. The prawn cracker dimsum was very tasty and unique. Other dimsums were nice as well, service was a bit slow though. It cost around 5000 for 2 including unlimited aerated beverages. The place is beautiful and is conveniently located in Central Delhi. Go for their other menu options as well.

This has been a annual stop in Delhi for years. Really disappointed this time round visiting after three years. We have only focused on the dumplings in the past two visits avoiding the noodles and rice dishes ( never good). This time the dumplings and desserts also let us down. Two stars for the excellent pork buns and chicken shumai. The ice cream and sticky toffee pudding ( too much baking soda and incredibly salty 🤮)were awful. The manager did replace the pudding with a crème brûlée from their hotel menu which was a lot better .Will not return next year.

The chef is amazing, and the environment is so enjoyable. More important, the waiter and waitress working here are so attentive. I was served by Heena, who made sure every cup of tea I was drinking us hot enough like fresh made.

Food was average. Good fried rice but average stir fried chicken and veg dish. Interior is good. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT was having to self park in the DINGY basement and having to walk back through the basement into the driveway and then enter the hotel lobby..... NO VALET PARKING AVAILABLE Had I known this, would not have gone to this place on a rainy day 🙂

Delicious food, great service. However, many dishes were not authentically Chinese but had that Indian touch. We had the all you can eat dim sum lunch - that was good value for money

We visited the restaurant on 1st January and we waited for half an hour for a bottle of water to be given to us. The soup served was not what we ordered and it had gone cold. They brought dishes we hadn't even ordered and no one attended to us properly despite having booked the table 5 days prior. After waiting for 1.5 hours, we ultimately left without eating anything. This kind of service is not expected from a place as expensive as Shangri-La.

  • 2/5 Triptee J. 1 year ago on Google
Below average service, average ambience, average food, NOT value for money. I was really looking forward to having dinner at Shangri La..however..I was highly disappointed. 1. It was our anniversary & was looking for a romantic setting..I was not satisfied with the seating & ambience. It was not romantic at all 2. Food was average, nothing special 3. Service was below expectations, considering its a 5 to 7 star property..there was lack of warmth, courtesy & welcoming attitude.. the servers & staff did not seem very interested in attending to the guests.. Overall, I felt that I was not worth paying such a huge amount, it dint seem like fine dining experience at all... hope they live upto their brand name and luxury hospitality standards..
