A
Regrettable
Experience
Thrust
Upon
Me
I'm
compelled
to
recount
my
recent,
utterly
unpleasant
stay
at
The
Grand,
a
stay
I
had
no
choice
but
to
endure
due
to
an
Air
India
flight
delay
of
over
14
hours.
Overall
Experience:
My
overall
experience
was,
to
put
it
mildly,
a
colossal
disappointment.
It's
especially
disheartening
considering
this
hotel
proudly
flaunts
a
5-star
rating,
but
the
reality
falls
far
short
of
the
expected
standards.
Room
Temperature:
The
ability
to
control
room
temperature
is
a
basic
expectation
in
any
hotel,
fundamental
for
guest
comfort.
Unfortunately,
it
was
apparent
that
the
room
temperature
was
under
the
centralized
control
of
the
hotel,
rendering
it
impossible
to
achieve
a
comfortable
setting.
Charging
and
Electrical
Issues:
The
room
was
plagued
by
electrical
woes.
USB
charging
slots
were
either
inoperative
or
broken,
rendering
them
utterly
useless.
Additionally,
the
electrical
socket
near
the
bed
was
loose,
creating
an
unsafe
charging
situation.
Bathroom
Nightmares:
The
state
of
the
bathroom
facilities
was
beyond
disappointing.
Leaky
faucets
led
to
wasteful
water
usage,
and
the
condition
of
the
toilets
was
nothing
short
of
horrifying
–
even
worse
than
the
temporary
facilities
at
a
construction
job
site.
Rusty
faucets
and
inconsistent
water
flow
added
to
the
dismay.
Lack
of
TV
Remote:
Adding
to
the
litany
of
issues,
there
was
no
TV
remote,
further
exacerbating
the
inconvenience.
Staff
Behavior:
The
most
glaring
letdown
was
the
staff's
behavior.
They
appeared
untrained,
unresponsive,
and
at
times,
blatantly
rude.
Multiple
requests
were
necessary
for
our
luggage
to
be
attended
to.
The
wait
times
for
room
keys
were
exasperating,
with
no
apparent
reason
for
the
delays.
It
was
particularly
frustrating
to
see
a
single
staff
member
handling
all
guests
while
others
stood
idly
nearby.
Basic
information
about
the
hotel's
amenities,
meal
timings,
and
services
was
not
provided
willingly.
This
lack
of
transparency
seemed
to
apply
to
all
guests,
irrespective
of
their
method
of
booking.
I
even
witnessed
another
guest,
who
had
booked
his
room
independently,
shouting
at
the
staff
due
to
his
dissatisfaction
with
their
service.
Positives
About
the
Hotel:
In
the
interest
of
fairness,
there
were
some
positive
aspects:
The
buffet
was
impressive,
offering
a
wide
array
of
options.
The
hotel's
location,
particularly
its
proximity
to
the
airport,
is
convenient.
The
architectural
charm
of
the
building
and
the
lush
green
landscape
at
its
center
make
for
a
pleasant
stroll.
The
initial
grandeur
upon
entering
the
hotel
is
undeniable,
but
this
facade
quickly
fades
when
dealing
with
the
staff.
In
summary,
my
stay
was
nothing
short
of
a
nightmare,
one
I
had
no
control
over.
The
room
temperature
issues,
electrical
malfunctions,
dismal
bathroom
conditions,
and
the
unprofessional
conduct
of
the
staff
collectively
tarnished
my
experience.
I
strongly
discourage
anyone
from
staying
at
this
hotel,
especially
if
your
stay
is
arranged
through
Air
India.
This
unfortunate
experience,
I
believe,
was
a
direct
consequence
of
my
complimentary
stay
courtesy
of
Air
India.
