I
am
writing
a
retrospective
review
of
this
hotel
in
relation
to
when
I
stayed
with
my
fiancé
pre-pandemic.
We
booked
2
nights
and
hadn’t
planned
on
spending
time
in
the
hotel,
we
wanted
to
explore
Delhi,
but
we
did
expect
basic
cleanliness,
a
simple
bed
and
basic
washing
facilities.
It
just
wasn’t
safe.
The
water
from
the
shower
was
brown.
I
took
photos
of
the
water
that
was
collected
in
the
bucket.
We
reported
this
concern
to
the
manager
who
told
us
it
was
sediment
from
the
pipes.
We
then
went
out
to
get
some
chay
and
returned
to
see
that
the
water
had
settled
and
we
could
see
a
film
of
grease
on
the
top
of
the
water
in
the
bucket.
Obviously,
grease
is
not
sediment
or
silt
and
indicates
there
is
some
sort
of
contamination.
We
reported
this
and
asked
for
a
refund
and
the
manager
refused
to
refund
us.
We
asked
for
at
least
a
refund
for
the
second
night
as
we
didn’t
want
to
stay
(we
couldn’t
even
wash
our
hands
in
this
water)
but
he
refused.
We
had
to
wash
ourselves
with
baby
wipes
and
decided
to
just
rough
it
because
we
were
tired.
The
other
problem
was
the
aircon
and
no
windows.
The
one
night
we
stayed
the
aircon
made
me
sick,
I
had
a
very
sore
throat
and
was
coughing
and
sneezing.
As
soon
as
we
turned
the
aircon
off,
after
about
half
an
hour
I
was
absolutely
fine
again.
I
don’t
think
they
clean
the
aircon
filters!
Delhi
is
very
polluted
anyway,
but
I
am
certain
my
symptoms
were
because
of
this
air
con
in
the
hotel.
It
was
a
huge
environmental
health
risk.
Another
charming
addition
was
that
there
was
a
public
urinal
within
20ft
of
the
hotel
that
we
had
to
keep
walking
past.
We
still
really
enjoyed
our
time.
I
loved
exploring
Delhi
and
it
all
added
to
the
experience
but
I
could
see
other
foreigners
and
backpackers
and
it
made
me
wonder
how
many
were
fooled
into
thinking
this
brown
water
is
to
be
expected
in
India?
It’s
not
-
the
water
should
not
be
brown
in
Indian
hotels.
