Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum was the residence of the former Prime Minister of India. It was later converted into a museum. One can see the collection of rare photographs of the Nationalist movement, the personal moments of the Nehru-Gandhi family and her childhood. For optimal timing at this location, it is advisable to visit in the morning. Time is crucial here.

A Touching Tribute: Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum, Delhi Stepping into the Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum in Delhi is like stepping into a time capsule of Indian history. What was once the residence of India's first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, is now a beautifully curated museum that captures her life and legacy in stunning detail. The museum is more than just a collection of artifacts; it's an immersive experience. Personal belongings like saris and letters offer a glimpse into her life beyond politics, while photographs and multimedia displays bring her pivotal moments to life. You can almost hear the echoes of her speeches and feel the weight of the decisions she made. What truly impressed me was the museum's balanced approach. It doesn't shy away from the controversies surrounding Indira Gandhi's tenure, but it also highlights her immense contributions to India. From her role in the fight for independence to her focus on social welfare and poverty alleviation, the museum paints a comprehensive picture of a complex and fascinating leader.

This place has a great Ambience for kids of age group 1-12 yrs. An ideal place for kids to hangout on their birthdays. Though a bit far from the main city but it is worth the spend of time and money. Kids would have a blast with interactive activities and would get to learn a lot of concepts while they are playing. Food is awesome and the rates are very reasonable. Staff is also very supportive in explaining each and every activity to the kids.

Don’t spoil ur day here Today I celebrated my sons birthday at this place. Staff is rude. Staff was scolding kids. They were 12 boys in the party, what they were expecting a quite library atmosphere among 12 boys. Food was pathetic in taste, served cold and cherry on cake was their poor, rude, haphazard service. They have goofed up my order. I was embarrassed in front of my guests. This place has ruined my son’s eight birthday party.

The memorial is a white bungalow spread over in a massive area, which also includes a well-maintained lawn comprises of plants, flowers, trees and bushes, that once was the residential house of late Indira Gandhi. However, later after the assassination of Indira Gandhi on 31st October 1984, this house got converted into a memorial in her memory. For years, this museum in Delhi is manifesting the simple lifestyle of late Indira Gandhi to the general public. The museum is entirely secured with a walled glass through which one can get a sight of Indira Gandhi’s dining area, living area, and selected rooms of the house. On display, there are numerous fascinating relics and artefacts related to Indira Gandhi, however, amongst those, a saree worn by him during assassination is the main attraction of the museum. Also, the memorial has a well-preserved crystal plaque which exhibits the brown blood spot of Indira Gandhi. Besides, the walls of the museum are also adorned with numerous photographs of private and public events of Nehru and Gandhi families

No entry fee and no entry tickets are required. Water bottles are not allowed. I loved this museum. There are good things to see. At the entry, there is a welcome created with grass. Inside the museum, I found few things interesting like Indra Gandhi's reading room, Sonia Gandhi's marriage pics. Cloths of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi they wore at the time of death. Rajiv Gandhi's photography and a lot of things. The best thing about this museum is that you can connect yourself since Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka are alive. There is childhood pics of Rahul and Priyanka. Good greenery.

Excellent museum.well displayed on life of Iron Lady of India Indira Gandhi. It was fascinated with articles of our honorable Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and how she used to live at those times. Got a tad bit emotional to see her sari in which Indira Gandhi was murdered. Feels deeply sad about this dynamic Lady assinated by her own security guard. This was the residence of Indira Gandhi which was later converted into a museum, dedicated to her life. The museum is very neat clean and well maintained. There are many personal belongings, articles and photographs of her on display. Definitely worth visiting to this place. Also get the books and T shirt for this glorious lady.

The place felt frozen in history, and the addition of a small souvenir shop added to the charm of the visit. Exploring artifacts related to the Gandhi family made my visit incredibly special. The historical significance and personal touch to the exhibits added a unique depth to the experience.

A great place for a day outing with kids. Many educational games and activities for kids and one can order food and coffee from the club while watching kids play in a safe air conditioned museum. They also host birthday parties.

Please do something about your website. Because from perspective of user experience it's not good. For an instance let's it be the case⤵️ 1. I can see the membership page but there is no way to purchase it only. As you know that everything is accessible online so this section must be updated. It will make no harm but all the benefits #I_guess 2. No content in gallery section. PS :- My ratings are on the basis of website review. And this place is in my "to do list"🙂

When it was opened lots of activities there for kids like water painting, science illusions, sand art, miniature kitchen & garden tools, puzzles, hidden treasure etc. You can buy food & bevrages from inside & you can host birthday parties. Good place for kids to explore & engage in many recreational activities. Huge crowd on weekends. Kids engage themselves for hours.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum was the residence of the former Prime Minister of India. It was later converted into a museum. One can see the collection of rare photographs of the Nationalist movement, of the personal moments of the Nehru-Gandhi family, and of her childhood. Photographs, newspaper articles and clippings related to Indira Gandhi's assassination and the clippings of Rajeev Gandhi's funeral pyres, awards, and personal objects like clothes, pens, and bags of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi are part of the collection. Indira Gandhi's book collection and the gifts she received from various people have also been preserved....

Not only does this place have a good collection, it's also one of the most professionally kept museums I've seen in India. It has the distinction of having the most extensive curated collection of Indira Gandhi's personal belongings, in their natural space. Her rooms, study, and library are all kept exactly like they were 50 years back. The more traditional museum on the other has a large number of unseen photos from the era as well as from the Gandhi's personal lives. Loved how the place she was assassinated at, is also preserved aesthetically yet respectfully.

We all were amazed by the house of Our beloved prime Minister Indira Gandhi, I mean the way her house was justifies how a typical high society delhite would be staying. Her all belongings to the place where she was shot down everything has been there and i really was surprised. well back in the year i didn't understand much why and how are they kept but adding review about It makes me relish my old memoirs. I was fantasized by this description. Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi (Hindi: [ˈɪnd̪ɪɾɑː ˈɡɑːnd̪ʰi] (listen); née Nehru; 19 November 1917 – 31 October 1984) was an Indian politician and a central figure of the Indian National Congress.[2] She was the 3rd prime minister of India and was also the first and, to date, only female prime minister of India. Indira Gandhi was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the 1st prime minister of India. She served as prime minister from January 1966 to March 1977 and again from January 1980 until her assassination in October 1984, making her the second longest-serving Indian prime minister after her father.

Well organised museum. Extremely systemic and nicely arranged. Almost each and every phase of Indira Gandhi's life has been well documented and placed here. You can see pictures, artifacts, mementos and various other items. This used to be Indira Gandhi's house when she was PM, so even the office, bedroom, pooja room and dining room can be viewed. There's also a Rajiv Gandhi museum in the same compound, adjacent building. Even that is well organised with artifacts. The Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum in Delhi was the residence of Indira Gandhi, the late and former Prime Minister of India. In this house Indira Gandhi’s assassination happened on October 31st, 1984. After her demise, the residence was converted into a musuem. The musuem showcase artefacts that once belonged to the late Prime Minister of India. Some collections on display include the saree she had adorned during her assassination and personal and rare photographs of her childhood and life, Nehru-Gandhi family as well as the Nationalist movement. The museum also showcases Rajiv Gandhi’s awards, newspaper clippings, personal items including pens, bags, book collection, clothes, etc. Apart from this, the gifts that Indira Gandhi received from several people are also on display. We visited the place in a weekday, at about 2pm. At first we strolled into the various rooms and watche the displayed items and clicked some photos. My entire experience was excellent, even when I see the remains of the clothes she worked at the time of assassination I felt goosebumps.
