Went to this iconic eatery in Connaught place on a Saturday night. Well the wait time was around 50+ minutes, there was alot of rush in the night but people were patiently waiting for their turn (something uncommon in Delhi ;) ). Finally our turn came and we ordered our food but before that, on the aspects of cleanliness the place is not kept well. We got seat at the entrance only, so it was extremely hot and with minimum ventilation. So with one hand we were eating and with the other hand wiping our faces. There is an option of taking seat upstairs but because of heavy rush and long waiting time we couldn't get that. Coming to what we had ordered: 1. Dahi Mutton (4.5/5): The pieces were cooked properly and gravy was very tasty. The masala and spices were sauted properly so thag further enhanced the taste, it tasted great with nan and rice. 2. Chicken Curry (2.5/5): We were really disappointed with this dish, though Chicken was tender but taste was not upto mark, you can get better Chicken curry in other outlets across Delhi. It was very normal types, i would recommend mutton over this dish anyday 3. Dal Makhani (3.5/5): The dal was cooked properly and tasted a bit on the sweet side, they added alot of ghee and butter in it due to which i felt it subdued the original taste. 4. Shahi Paneer (2/5): Out of the 4 dishes we ordered this was the least upto the mark. They had added to much cream and tomato to it, i have eaten Shahi paneer at so many places but this is the worst one till now. The paneer pieces tasted bland as masala was not marinated / mixed in it. We ordered extra mutton gravy alongwith the rice and they didn't charge anything for that, the service is very fast as all the dishes are already prepared and kept in huge containers. Overall its a 3.5 from my side, in case you visit this place over a weekend have a buffer of atleast 40 minutes.

An old hangout. Still the same taste.... must try chicken curry. Usually crowded but due to restrictions it was ok. Don't ponder into the storage or cooking area and just concentrate on what is being served.

We were hungry after arriving from Bangalore and we did the right decision to visit this place. An auto rickshaw guy suggested us the place. We had tandoori roti with chicken curry. We got onion with special marsala chutney as complementary. The place was houseful even at 4 pm. Taste of the food was just awesome.. it was reasonable too. Place was moderately clean. Must visit if you have a bus pickup from RK Ashram.

Food is good, however, you'll have to overlook hygiene if you want to go there. You'll always find waiting there. In advance booking and table reservation is not allowed. The person on the gate will not even allow you to inside if you have booked table for more people and all of them have not arrived. When we finally got the entry, our tables were not cleaned properly, we told the staff but they didn't listen. We had to clean it ourselves from tissue paper. You cannot eat in peace there as the staff will always be in hurry to serve you and send you out so that other people can come.

Good food and good taste. It is situated on the opposite side of the Natural ice cream shop near Connaught place. A must visit hotel in New Delhi. My only concern was hygiene. The plates were not properly cleaned. This should be maintained in order to deliver the highest quality.

Very popular with masses and always full of people. Tried this last week, after ages but was a very disappointing experience. Mutton curry was burnt to hell and tasted really bad but I was really shocked to see people enjoying the same just coz the servers give extra curry again and again and 2 people can enjoy their meal from the same plate. We ordered a Keema dish to save our day and it was just average in taste. Overall , not a place to visit again.

All I can say it was worth the wait. The egg curry and chicken curry were a blissful lunch option in winter. Since all preparations are done in ghee and over coal, the taste is unbeatable. Service is great and has courteous staff. Even the onion chutney thing which we get is also maintains its standard to the place. Would recommend a takeout since it's mostly crowded.

Situated at Connaught Place, this restaurant mainly serves non-vegetarian fare. The menu has approx 25 dishes in all. The seating is spread between the ground and 1st level. We were at the restaurant on a Wednesday night at 10:30pm and still had to wait for almost 25 minutes to get a table. This says a lot about the popularity of the restaurant. However, the food is very average, the space is too cramped and the pricing is a bit high. The good part is that the service is quick as most of the dishes are kept ready in huge containers right at the entrance of the hotel. Once you place the order, it is served to you within 5 minutes.

I had a really good time and great food at this place, for any reference kindly try the Dahi meat it's better than chicken and my personal recommendation would be some rice as it comes with ghee overloaded, and not only non-veg they have good vegetarian options as well so your vegetarian friends can join you here. With all this great food comes the wonderful service and believe me you will be made to feel special with only just the service after entering inside this place, the staff is good and clean. Overall I had a blast at this place, and would highly recommend your precious time to spend at this place.

Well; its one of the million other "Kake Da....." food outlet names in India! But this outlet in CP in New Delhi claims to be the ONE & ONLY.... and so be it :-) This place is very well located & easy to find in CP. Coming to food the part, Fish tikka(surmai boneless) was awesome! Full marks. Butter chicken, which is supposed to be common in northern India particularly in Punjab, Haryana & Delhi was far from being good....just manageable. Meat ka pulao was like addition of separately cooked mutton & rice.... Lacks taste & flavour....Service was quick. Serving of laccha onion with green chatapata chutney was the icing on the cake.... Ambiance & services was of typical dhaba type, where one should not expect anything other than good fresh food. Prices is slightly above avg but expected due to its location. Be prepared to overlook hygiene due to space crunch & rush :-) Overall ok for one time visit

They serve north Indian style vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Taste is good but definitely not the best, tandoori rotis are fresh and crisp. They put generous amount of ghee in everything. Seekh kebab was average but saag items were good. Place is very busy and not very clean though.

The place is hot and packed. Wait time is minimum of 20 mins. Once you enter it's a small place and you are given a table. They serve onion with chutney and masala once seated. During rush hour the food takes a little time to come till the table. Mostly because of the rotis that are prepared. Ordered butter chicken, roti, egg masala and paneer tikka. Paneer tikka - can skip. It wasn't worth the taste or money Butter chicken - The gravy was watery, had one big piece of chicken leg. No taste. Egg masala - Two eggs with gravy. The gravy was very watery. Rotis - They were hot and nice to eat. Though they have options of butter roti and butter naan. There is no taste of butter on it. It is also mentioned that they use ghee for cooking, which is completed missing from the main course.

I'm going at this place since I was a young kid. What I have experienced is that their service and taste has been degrading with its popularity. It is the oldest running eatery in CP, thus it has reputation. But their reputation is has gone down a lot in recent time. This time when I visited we ordered chicken curry, tandoori chicken and palak paneer. Everything was rather bland.

We waited in front of the hotel for almost 25 minutes. But that's worth every single money. The food is very tasty and delicious. Food quality is the best in Delhi. We enjoyed having food there. I will visit here when I go back to Delhi.

A must visit place in Delhi serving mouth watering, finger licking Non vegetarian food. Their Butter Chicken, Mutton Rogan Josh. Tandoor items are just out of the world. Service is super fast and they do serve plate, half and full portion of dish , so quite pocket friendly as well as give you option to try multiple dishes without over eating (although you do over eat once you start eating the tasty food ) Seating is quite limited and mostly the first floor is best place to sit but you have climb narrow high steps to reach there. Parking could also be a problem and you will have to park at CP circle parking. Best to reach via Metro with metro station at hardly 3-4 mins walking distance. Have been eating here for last 20 years and recently visited again after almost 8 years, the atmosphere , taste and menu is still the same quality.

We ordered butter chicken, egg curry l, tandoori roti, and tawa roti. For me, the taste of butter chicken was average. Butter chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambience⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We waited for 45 minutes for the food. I had concern about the hygiene as the glass smelled like curry.

My favourite restaurant in terms of taste and price. Dal Makhni and Butter Chicken are the best in the world, and the taste has been consistent since forever. However, the hygiene and service are purely functional and coincidental. So, warning you there.

Pretty decent restaurant with a long history, established in 1931. The butter chicken was average, but the pulao rice gravy was beyond amazing. Good place to have a blend of authentic and historical experience.

There just cannot be chicken curry better than the one at Kake Da Hotel; period. There just cannot be. They have the most amazing chicken curry which is on the next level. The rest of the food is also quite good but the chicken curry is the one to beat and it is just lovable. The dal makhani is also quite good and the roti is fresh and tasty. The ambiance is not much to speak about but considering the price, it is what it is, Not something worth speaking about. It attracts an immense footfall and must try out if you are in Delhi or want to eat something good with chicken ever.

One of the most famous place of canaught place in Delhi for non veg food lovers. Why it is so famous, I give you the reason behind. First it is oldest and above that there isn't any fake flavours in dishes and that's why non-veg lovers who search for original taste in food opt for this place. Though I have been tasting dishes here from last 15 years and I haven't seen any changes in taste a bit. But during my last visit with my family I felt that this place should try to make or renovate a bit in regards of sitting space as now that makes a bit uncomfortable if you are coming along with your family or big group. I hope owners will consider my request and look forward for the upgrade in interiors.

Heard the hype of this restaurant and wanted to try this place, so went in and tried Chicken curry, Mutton pulao with Lachcha paratha.. Curry was tasty, mutton pulao was average, and if you are a biryani lover, you will be disappointed.. Parathas were ok.. Portion of curries is small for the price. Sitting arrangement is too conjusted and place serves many people. Parking is across the road and is mostly full, so you have to cross a busy road as well. If you want to take a good feel of better retro places, try Anand Restaurant in CP.

Kake da Hotel - Connaught Place They proudly say they don't have any other branch. So we've been here a couple of times, to get food packed. We've taken Butter Chicken Boneless, Butter chicken bone as well as their Brain Curry, along with Tandoori Rotis. The bill comes out to be approx 600-800 each time, for 2 people. Kinda expensive. This time, we decided to try & sit inside. On a weekday, when crowd was less & no queue, we seized the chance & went inside to sit. The sitting is on ground floor & first floor, but only ground floor has place for handwashing. First floor sitting resembles sitting places inside resturants in Jama Masjid lane - Congested & no proper ventilation. We had to wait to get a proper seat, where people won't brush past us, so we could enjoy our meal & conversations. We ordered Butter Chicken, tandoori rotis & 1 naan & coke. Service is very slow & I'd to call the service guy atleast 5 times for coke, salad, plates & general items. The food tasted just as good, but hot food is appericiated. Their Desi ghee cooked food does feel great. It seems they over employ people, since most of them just stood & stared, without doing any work. My advise - avoid sitting here. Crowded, poorly ventilated (they have AC's but no proper ventilation) & a lot of waiting time. Better get food packed & move on in the comfort of ur home.

Really good authentic North Indian food at very affordable price. The service is quick. They serve Pyaaz and Chutney as soon as you sit on the table. They have Air Conditioned seating on 1st Floor. We tried Dal Makhani(₹90 for full plate) with Butter Naan and Pudina Parantha. Dal was really great, it was cooked perfectly, the spices were balanced and the portion size was also good. For two people one plate would suffice. Naan and Paranta was burnt and you coul taste the burnt black carbon on it, which was reducing the taste of an overall really good bite. It costed us ₹213 for 2 and our bellies were full. For that price this place is a really great find. Recommend.

I took an opportunity to visit this restaurant. True to the reviews it was crowded on Saturday afternoon. I didn’t mind waiting outside of 15-20m. The entry process is first come first serve and they follow it properly. Inside it is crowded but I expected that too. Ordered Saag Meat, Keema Kaleji, roomali roti and tandoori roti. Saag Meet - 6/10 the meat was overcooked and had left the bone. Very close to halwa. Keema Kaleji - 8/10 it was good but nothing to write home about Roomali- 5/10 not good Tandoori-8/10 crisp and good Overall a mediocre experience. Maybe I didn’t try the correct dishes but I had visited Aslam Chicken a day before and that was way better food.

A small place, located in the outer circle of connaught place serving the yummy and tasty north indian dishes. Yes they serve both vegetarian and non vegetarian items, but they have a lot of non veg items and very few veg dishes. Its a crowded place with congusted sitting arrangement, you'll have to wait for getting the seats but i gave 5 star for the taste. We ordered palak paneer, shahi paneer and dal makhani along with the lachcha paratha. They serve in a plate and charges accordingly. Everything was too good. One can have a full tummy at a reasonable price. One can enjoy good food here or can takeaway.

10 years back it was some place with taste not any-more don’t waste your quality time here…forget the wait time, ambience of a place, its unhygienic workers or unkempt condition …. if the “FOOD” is delicious all things are over looked… mutton is a big no here, chicken curry and butter chicken is ok…but not worth that u specially come to C.P. and dine in here! Believe me till the time u are waiting outside it will be a lip smacking, mouth watering experience but the moment u take your first bite its a big turn off !!

I don't know what's gone wrong with them. Except for the onions, nothing tasted worth it!! Butter chicken was almost bland with slight taste of tomato's tanginess. Saag mutton was decent but not the kind of texture and taste i was expecting. And def couldn't taste and smell the aroma of 100% ghee which they proclaim. Disappointed.

Lot of delicious and unique veg and non veg foods varieties are available here and they cook it using their unknown methods which makes it more 😋😋. Whenever you visit Connaught place New Delhi, foodies lovers should taste the difference once and then decide yourself. It has no brach outside Connaught Place and it is situated on Outer Circle, and can be easily visited by any modes of transportation. Sometime due to lot of customer gatherings/orders, you may have to wait for your order but it is nothing to worry.

This is a very old restaurant in Central Delhi and yet one of the best places to savour non-veg food. We ordered a whole lot of dishes, all items were great in taste but I liked Chicken Tandoori and Fish Tikka most. Pros: 1) Hygienic and tasty food 2) Quick service 3) Reasonable price 4) Good connectivity 5) Parking is not a problem till 6pm Cons: 1) Limited seating capacity 2) Waiting time (that's the beauty people wait for their turn to taste the food) 3) Hard to find parking around in the evening peak hours due to its location 4) Not for people who can't compromise with expensive fine dining

My favourite is saag mutton here.. I found the chicken curry bit sweet... Will check other chicken dishes next time.

The food quality is good, if you are in small group of 2-4 and money is not the issue then you can consider it but for larger groups it's better to go to any other place as the quantity offered is less compared to what you are paying. It's one time try definitely.

good place for those who are non vegetarian and love to eat butter chicken. for veg people variety is less. dal makhni was good in taste. the best thing i liked about this place is tandoori chapati...very very soft....on weekends this place is highly crowded. you have to stand in queue to get entry.

Teribble food just a spit on the name of food .Just terrible never have tasted such bad tandoori roti or such tandoori chicken that has no taste in it.Just one plus point is that it is a cheap option in a place like cp other than that nothing great than that

Kake da hotel is one of the oldest moghlai special restaurant that is known as especially their signature dishes. People usually orders butter chicken, keema kaleji first, then goes for other dishes. You will get both the veg and non vej dishes here. They doesn't hesitate to put extra butter in the dishes. You will feel love when you taste it. You can't resist yourself from those lovely delicious foods if you are a foody. The salad with the green chutney is the cherry on the top.

Have heard a lot about this restaurent, so we visited. Food Taste - Nothing so special. Average. They have same curry(gravy) for mutton rogan josh and chicken curry. How the mutton rogan josh have the standard gravy. Worst mutton rogan josh I ever had. Chicken pulav - basic pulao and they added chicken pieces nd again the same curry in the botton. Ambience - so crowdy, not even proper place to seat. Pricing - Expensive considering the ambience and teste. Would not recommend, better give opportunity to restaurent s near you.

Butter chicken, dal makhani , paneer butter masala and that oh so kadak tandoori roti....the taste of pure ghee, simple yet robust flavours leaves you lingering for the next visit

  • 5/5 Shalini m. 2 years ago on Google
In love the way ghee stands out in their dishes. Mutton curry, keema kaleji and their chicken gravy is yum. Rumali roti is very delicate. Delicious food. It's just the sitting place is congested and you have to wait in peak hrs for hours to get in but it's all worth the wait.

  • 2/5 Tapan M. 2 years ago on Google
You have to wait at least 30 minutes for your turn, then comes the price 1 piece of chicken in any item of 260rs, though the chicken piece was big but the taste was the worst i have ever had. Rumali roti was worst.

  • 3/5 Divvya T. 2 years ago on Google
To be honest taste is good. Seeing today's competition price is fair but Ambience and hygiene really needs to look after specially during the sensitive time of covid... And I liked chicken curry but mutton saag i hated it..sorry but tasteless

  • 3/5 Anurag S. 2 years ago on Google
    1. They are known for their chicken and mutton cuisines. Taste is above average when it comes to butter chicken and chicken curry. 2. The total bill for 2 would cost somewhere around Rs.750 3. The place is pretty much crammed up and it feels like you are packed in a box. 4. Overall, a nice place to stop by for dinner. Give it a shot. 5. You can park your vehicle near by

  • 3/5 Ashish P. 2 years ago on Google
It's a Heritage name in the line of restaurants and synonymous with old Delhi charm. Personally I didn't like it that much because I'm from Lucknow (the foodies paradise) and the taste is okay. Try once just for the heritage feel!

Yummy food, loved the tandoori chicken, seekh kebabs and butter chicken

  • 5/5 Saurabh M. 2 years ago on Google
Non veg items are delicious, specially mutton. Gravy in mutton was full of good spices fragrances and very soft and mouth melting. We tried butter chicken and mutton but I found mutton items better. It's located in main C.p. just next to Minto bridge red light. Prices are good and justifying the prices. Authentic Indian Cuisine..Butter chicken or mutton or keema dal makhani all tastes yummy.open till midnight. Yes long queue on weekends for sure. Must Visit for Indian Non Veg cuisine

  • 3/5 Sachin S. 1 year ago on Google
Seeing the long queue in front of the hotel we knew this was a popular joint. We registered our name in the wait list. It took around 25 min before they seated us inside. We ordered half Tandoori chicken, a plate or chicken tikka, half plate of butter chicken and butter rotis. The food was very very average. The tikka was not marinated long enough row the masala to fully be absorbed. Tandoori chicken also was like raw chicken in tandoor without w of u spices. Butter chicken was one of the most average one I had in Delhi. I make better butter chicken and I am not even a good cook. 😅 Note: The staff were very friendly. While we were waiting outside in delhi cold, the staff arranged for chairs for senior citizens to sit and checked if everyone was fine.

Visited again after 3 years (2020-2023). Fully packed, have to wait 20 mins. They got Exhaust problem, everyone having dinner with burning eyes, so do I. Food taste is good, service is super fast. Big NO if you are vegetarian, don't go.

Do not care about the looks, the methods or literally anything. Zoom past everything and climb up to the upper level. Order their unparalleled saag mutton and butter chicken for the best curry in your life. Their brain curry is an acquired taste but may be good for health. The best thing is that everything is made in 100% desi ghee, and not unhealthy oil. Give the pudina paratha a go.

  • 5/5 Atanu M. 3 months ago on Google New
One of my favourite and famous Non-veg restaurant in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Happy to always have Saag Mutton, tandoori chicken, butter chicken etc. Authentic taste of North Indian non vegetarian dishes. Only drawback is that there is always waiting time 20 to 30 min during lunch time due to less sitting arrangement and space constraints. Rates are reasonable.
