Very nice place to take kids. The movie show is really very good. Charges 80rs for adults. There are 4 shows in a day 11:30, 1:30, 3 and 4.. one extra show on sundays at 12:30 pm. The only problem is with parking. Very few cars can be parked here

That's really beautiful place .. time worthy and money worthy, little place by area not by content. Much more thing than I think.. once you have to go and feel it. Ticket fare Child(4-12) years - 50 rupees/head Adult (12<) years - 80 rupees/head Monday closed Sunday additional show at 12:30 pm(hindi) 11:30am- English 1:30pm - Hindi 3:00pm - English 4:00pm - Hindi Tickets are available before half hour of the show . Now they are taking only card, not cash.. Tickets are also available online at book my show. There will be extra charge of booking and 18% gst.. At the end I will say very good and enjoyable place . You will definitely gonna to love it... And that show I love that ..

The 3D show is amazing. Good parking facility, better management for crowd handling but 90 percent of the models displayed in campus are out of order. Planetarium needs a lot of maintenance. Customers are paying for all the facilities present inside the planetarium but most of the models are not in working conditions though the staff is well behaved and cooperative....

My experience was amazing. Very nice place to visit with family and friends. The planetarium is brimming with information related to space and cosmology which is displayed in the form of splendid sound and visuals, making one feel almost at one with stars. There are regular interactive sessions, art competitions and stellar space equipment on display, making this place a massive hub of tourists. Key points: 1. Show timing is different so check timing before going. 2. Book tickets online. 3. Take food from outside because there is no food service available.

The planetarium has a small gallery of exhibits relating to astronomy (both related to India, and globally), but you see this only as a preliminary to the main focus of the planetarium, which is the show. The show at the planetarium is in two languages: English at 11.30 AM and 3 PM, and Hindi at 1:30 PM and 4 PM. Tickets for each show cost Rs 80 for an adult, and Rs 50 for a child above 4 years of age. The show is about 40 minutes long, and the ticket counter opens half an hour before the start of the next show. As soon as you’ve bought a ticket, you can enter the planetarium building and spend the time until your show starts looking at the exhibits, which include some interesting information on ancient astronomy, planets, the sun, outer space, and more; an old space suit worn by an Indian astronaut; information about missions to the rest of the solar system; etc. For the show, you go into the Sky Theatre, which is a circular theatre with a high domed roof. Try to get a seat as near the centre as possible; this way, when the show projects onto the sides of the theatre, you won’t be having to crane your neck right around to see what’s happening. The show covers lots of interesting facets about the solar system: its evolution, how mankind has perceived the solar system, how studies and explorations have been carried out, and what facts have been unearthed about other planets, asteroids, comets, etc. It’s informative and visually very striking.

I visited here with my 5 Yr old daughter for 3pm show on Saturday. I don't know about weekdays, but I would say avoid bringing ur own vehicle... Parking space is negligible. Show was awesome, I believe it was 30-40 min show...and my daughter hardly sat for a single min.... We both loved the show and everything was beautifully explained...my daughter learned many new facts on planets. I will definitely bring here again...

Very poorly maintained. Many exhibits do not work, buttons are missing. Ticket distribution is highly mismanaged, best to buy tickets only (Bookmyshow). At ticket counter they will keep saying seats are full, but when we went in the show some seats were vacant. The theatre is not too big, we booked the 3D show (200/person) and it was not worth it at all. First of all, the 3D glasses were malfunctioning - image was distorted most of the time. The video shown in the show was outdated - it was probably 10 years old and created, narrated by foreign company. It lasted for 20 minutes, then to fill another 10 minutes they started some random video which was not at all related to solar system or planets. Sad to see the state of this place. You can probably enjoy better in some 3D movie theatre with 200 rupees. More updated versions of information about solar system is available on youtube.

We attended 2 back to back shows - normal and one 3-D show. Our experience was really great with the shows . Washroom -5* Screen & Resolution -5* Shows and content-5* Suggestion: 1. Please ensure that the 3-D glasses have a battery and are cleaned . (The glasses were not working for me and a few others. We requested them to change those) 2. Most of the models were not working and seemed broken for a while. Please fix those.

A must visit place for kids and adults alike. One gets a glimpse of the various concepts that are used in modern day astronomy as well as the history of astronomy. The movie show is the highlight. It is not only an educational, informative show but one of a kind show that gives you a view of the astronomical objects like planets, galaxies, etc like you are watching them live in the night sky right over your head. Worth a visit

Except the projection show, the planetarium has nothing concrete. The show is good, it talks about the planets and galaxies around us. Sitting arrangement can be improved. Most of the instruments are broken or not in working state. It needs solid renovation. Information about space and time can be written in more informative way than the current verbose way. I don't believe kids would be able to learn something from the information presented through posters and instruments. Always book the shows beforehand online. Try to be on outer row as possible inside show audi. Parking is ample through gate no 2. Please hit helpful and help others by making this review list on top.

It is a very small place and the only main attraction is the 30 minutes movie in a dome shaped theater in 2D/3D.. Apart from this its a regular museum which can be covered in 10-20 minutes... if you/kids have an interest in history etc then you may go and plan to spend 30-60 minutes here.. even though the ticket is for the show but there is no entry allowed if you dont have a ticket.. The free parking is just outside before you reach the main gate.. Entry ticket can be bought online via book my show with just 15rs extra as convenience charge.. book in advance or reach early else the show becomes housefull near the show time.. Remember the price is double for the 3D show but it might be worth as i bought 2d ticket by mistake.. remember they check an id card at entrance and no food except water is allowed.. you may keep outside at the table and collect on your way back.. there is a prime minister sanghrakya next to it and there is infact ample parking inside that so you may visit that along with if you want to.. the library is not for general public but for some scholars.. there is a small canteen next to library that offers maggi, samosa tea etc.. if you are coming from far like gurgaon noida or other places, plan to cover 2-3 places like india gate, national rail mueseum or zoo etc for kids..

Nehru planetarium is good place for kids to understand our galaxy milky way , universe and our own solar system. You will feel awesome byseeing 3D movie of the universe. Must visit for growing kids. The only limitation is limited parking and Unavailablity of food counters. You may reach early and visit one monument which is built in 1300 BC just adjacent to the planetarium

We are in 2021 but the planetarium still looks like we are in 1990. It's a very good place for knowledge but in terms of technology, they were far behind. As it's situated in the central part they can upgrade it to a world-class planetarium with a modern tech screen and future VR. I have learnt so many new things but as a visitor I would it can be far better. The entry fee is very nominal and in my opinion, they should upgrade and start charging more on visitors and entry. They were preparing kids for space mission. But still using Lcd screen which are not working properly. Hope this message concerns the authority and they look forward to improve it.

✨😍Wonderful!!! Loved it. I think people should go such places rather than wasting their hundreds and thousands of rupees on entertainment. Though these are equally important, I feel you should look for the other aspects too. It was a great experience for which I was craving for months. Could not get time to make it possible but somehow or the other, this idea of being in planetarium always excited me. Been here for almost 2 hours wherein I spent my 1 hour exploring places near the planetarium. There's a wonderful space to shoot or click photos. You must go there once! Just ₹80 Ticket per head for adults and 40 for kids.

Great initiative from the government of India. Especially for the new generation to know about India. History and the constitution struggle. Great minds coming together to build something that amazes the entire world. Bringing all states together and making a union and then talking them forward to grow as a nation really amazes the vision of the people.

Poorly maintained facility. 90% of the displays are damaged or not operational. (See pictures) The 3D show which is the main attraction is outdated by at least a decade. Some of the 3D glasses flicker. Get the flickering glasses exchanged for properly working ones before the show.

Scam. Fraud. If you're visiting Nehru planetarium, be aware of this scam. These people give you faulty 3D glasses and when the show is over charge you for these glasses. We went to the show in a hurry and did not check our glasses until the show began. By then it was late to exchange the glasses so we made do with those glasses. When the show was over, these people are like you tampered with the glasses and now have to pay for it. Even though there was no way the visible damage could be done on 40 minutes of the show. After that they fined Rs. 500 and did not even offer any receipt of the transaction which obviously went to their own pockets. These people are complete fraud and just after money.

I had the very worst experience here. Except the show nothing is great here. Staff here is very rude and doesn't care about public. Most of the equipment in this museum is not in working condition. And the worst thing was their ticketing process. they will tell you to make line to buy tickets for the show almost 1 hour before and then will open the the box office just half an hour ago. They say that only 100 tickets is there so you buy likewise and when your number will come and suppose you was unable to buy tickets because it's sold out then they will not give you tickets for the next show instead they will tell you to make line for the next show. I can tell you it is the worst management I have seen here. Full time waste and money waste. 2 star I am giving just because of the show else nothing good here.

I visited this place for the first time when I was a school kid. This place was filled with wonders back then. There used to be the escape pod of rakesh sharma. The show which tells you about the universe was something which I couldn't forget. But when I visited this place few days back, I was shock. Most of the pieces on exhibition don't work. A small section where you can learn about Nehru and his love for science is now closed. The jantar mantar model is broken. Then I went in to watch the show. There the seats were broken and dirty. But the show was still good. That's probably the only thing that is worth watching. (As of last month, the entry to Nehru museum is closed)

Nehru Planetarium showcases information related to space missions and various topics related to space. There is not much to visit here as it's a very small museum and just an outdated projected show whose graphics are extremely poor. Moreover, they charge 100 rs for the show which is not even worth rs 30. It can be a great place for they can just work on the graphics part of the show. It is recommended to avoid this place and visit "Prandhanmantri Sanghralaya" which is just 50 meters away from it. Trust me that place is 100 times better than the Nehru Planetarium.

Good place for kids. Maintenance is an issue here. Not very well maintained. Most of the demos or prototypes are not in working condition. Demonstrations are boring. Not very kid friendly. Ticket prices for 2D shows are INR 100 and 70 for adults and children (4 to 12 years) respectively. 3D shows are also available. Last show is at 6.00 pm (English - 3D).

Parking Space- No parking space inside Planetarium, So one can park his/her vehicle outside this premises at their own risk, Though no chalaan Ticket for the show- Only digital form of cash is acceptable. Adult- 80 Rs, Kids- 50 Rs. Convenience at the scale of 5 would be 4 Show- Since Covid protocol is in place, so one can sit leaving adjacent one. Sitting in last row gives better view. Show duration- 45 mnt Surrounding area inside planetarium- 700 yrs Tughlaq period, Hunter place can be checked. Musium- Was close due to Covid related restriction. Canteen- No canteen inside though outside one can lick icecream from vendor cart. Overall Rating- 3/5

A very nice informative place to learn about stars and our universe. How it started and what happened then. Why Pluto is now not considered a planet and how we have just 8 planets I our solar system. Do attend the show which is available in different languages. It's an amazing 3d kind of show. It's decently crowded so you might want to book tickets in advance. Take tour kids along and learn something.

Very nice and informative place located next to Prime Minister Museum. CISF is responsible for the security here and all their personnel are performing their duty in the best possible manner. We attended the 3D show today which was amazing. Along with having good experiences, there is also an open green space to roam around and enjoy the surrounding environment. The museum showcases the progress of science which is very informative for children. Be sure to take your children along.

Everything was good, including the 2D show I saw! But the staff wasn’t polite. I don’t know what is the problem in government departments they start seeing themselves as gods and here too they were quite rude to other people. Even the guards! I’m just giving three stars to the show!

We reached there on Sunday. So the opening time is 11:30 am and the first show starts at sharp 11:30am. If u wish to attend arrive 10 min early. And the ticket can only be provided if u reach there before the show time. Otherwise wait for the next show. First show in in English rest next two shows are in hindi. I would suggest choosing the seat opposite to the entry gate and seat away from the children as if u wish to enjoy without kids commentary. And if you are with kids then there is no option to escape 😂 but please try to make it quiet for others. It was a great experience but I wish hall was more maintained.

Was in my wishlist since school days. Firstly, the vicinity is really calm and peaceful. Though, the planetarium isn't very big but it's a fun and different experience than usual delhite life. The 30 mins Solar System show is a very informative and unique experience. Detailed info about formation of galaxy and about planets. A must for children of course and Adults should give it a try too! 🙌 p.s there is Nehru Museum just next to Planetarium that surely exceeds the Fun. Though, it's closed due to Covid currently.

This is Nehru planetarium, an interesting place for an astronomy enthusiast. Inaugurated by Smt. Indira Gandhi on 6th February 1984, it is one of the five planetariums in India named after India's first prime minister. There's a sky theatre inside, which is cool btw except I don't understand why people bring infants there, and kids under 3years of age! They disturb the show twice, first by crying, second after the father trying to make him/her stop crying. Most of the people there treat it like they are there for a movie!

The experience was okayish. Due to the 50% seating we had to stand in line for 1.5 hours as even after reaching at 2 for the 3PM show we weren't able to get the tickets (only 75 people at a time) We couldn't even view and read other things properly because they hurried us to the visual place where they play the video. And then we couldn't even pay the museum a visit. I'd suggest going after the seating is back to full capacity or if you are going in group of 5/6 so that you can take turns to stand in the line. Also note that they don't accept cash for the Planetarium ticket. Make sure you have your card/online payment method.

But I personally feel that we should visit this place with our parent n spend good quality time. Also share your knowledge or experience on planets, universe, etc. Who knows one day one of you become Astronaut or great Astronomer.

A visit to the Nehru Planetarium after several years was a bit of a disappointment. First at the outside gate they allow people inside just a few minutes before the movie presentation starts. So if one reaches early you'll have to mark time on the road. The general upkeep also is not as good as it used to be so most of the exhibits look somewhat shabby. One can't see through the telescopes like the way it used to be. The photography section is also closed and out of bounds for the public. The Teen Murti Museum too is closed down right now. The only good thing is that the movie presentation was good. A lot of hard work is required to make it shiny and sparkling like before.

The museum is not that big and you will find many old cosmological artefacts there. They run a show around 4 PM that costs around 80 per person and it is a must watch for kids and young people. Visited the planetarium with family for the Hindi 3D show. The place has free parking inside the complex. The experience was ok as the movie/ show was only about satellites and was not updated. There was nothing about the constellations and stars. Our daughter enjoyed it but we would have loved it more if the movie shown was current. One time watch only, if you going with a young kid 5-8 yrs old. Anymore older people will be disappointed.

Saw the 3D show on Saturday evening at 1800. Not at all crowded. Ticket bought online through bookmyshow. Viewing hall has good seats. 3D effects are awesome. Covers facts about solar system exploration. Slightly dated commentary. But the duration is barely 20 -25 minutes. Leaves you desiring for more.

Nehru Planetarium in New Delhi is situated on the grounds of Teen Murti Bhavan, was residence of India First PM Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and now a museum in his memory. It's a place for grown up kids above 12-13 years only.Major attraction is video show only( available in Hindi & English about solar system and galaxies).Others things contribute to only 10% of the planetarium. No one to guide about anything.place is well maintained with ample parking space on weekdays but hardly any fun activities for younger/ small kids

Every student must visit this museum... Should be made mandatory in schools to make visit to this Museum once in a year. With the use of technology, the government tried to showcase history of Indian leaders. I personally appreciate it. Recommended for every student, every Indian.

I visited this place 8-9 years ago. At that time every model was working as well as the audio explanation was working. Today's visit here Inside the sky theater, old data or video made many years back is still showcased. You can better explain videos with better graphics on YouTube. All the models are junk, not a signal one is working, no audio explanation. They should charge 10 for children and 20 for the adults. Not recommended till its renovated.

👍 👍 Very well maintained place 👍 Helpful staff 👍 updated website 👍 central Delhi location is best 👎👎👎👎👎 BIG THUMBS DOWN 👎NO PARKING AVAILABLE 👎👎 Some not so great things but not dealbreakers 👎 old projector so images aren’t sharp 👎 the seams on the projected roof are quite visible during the show 👎 the garden around is a mess and has room to improve a lot

It was my first visit this place during my stay in Delhi for a long time.Nehru pletorium is like small theatre which play a single short documentary movie on solar system. If you have keen interest in planets and cosmos, you can check this place. The shows are both in English and Hindi, and you you can book tickets online by visiting the website. I found this place through a friend who insisted me to go and watch the shows , it was informative and is presented in a lucid way. Therefore , many families with children are seen around this place. In my opinion, it is good and thoughtful if you decide to go for enjoying this shows with your loved ones.thank you.
