The museum does something to you. My appreciation for freedom fighters has increased manyfold after my visit to the museum. The fact that i could stroll around freely and witness the history and pain through which our Martyrs snatched freedom from british chains is sensational. My appreciation for Gandhi has also increased. His character inspires the fire within. His ideology of Hind Swaraj is something that everyone should read. It is worth a visit.

An indispensable collection of artifacts and daily use objects from the life of the great Mahatma Gandhi. The museum contains a plethora of real life objects and miniatures to describe how his life was. There are wall boards with the story of India's struggle for independence. There's also a library with all kinds of books about our history. Entry is free and the museum closes at 5pm. Do visit with some extra time in hand to carefully explore and articulate how much impact Gandhi and his ideology had on our history.

The National Gandhi Museum or Gandhi Memorial Museum is a museum located in New Delhi, India showcasing the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. The museum first opened in Mumbai, shortly after Gandhi was assassinated in 1948. The museum relocated several times before moving to Raj Ghat, New Delhi in 1961.

Very nice collection of memories and a collection of artistic images, including the only bust that was created with Mohatmas as a live model. It also has the clothes he wore when he was shot and one of the bullets that killed him. The bookstore has some unique items.

The National Gandhi Museum showcases the life of Mahatma Gandhi.Well i would say it's worth visiting. It has a large collection of original books, journals, photographs, materials & papers connected to Gandhi.Very well presented and hugely informative. On the first floor there's a hall to watch a movie about his life. The garden around includes some nice landscapes. The calm greenery of the gardens helps to alleviate the solemnity of the story. Overall it's Great✋

It is India's National Museum dedicated to the person who has contributed immensely for India's freedom struggle, uprooting social evils from Indian society. Special Attractions: His belongings, the one bullet that murdered his soul, his worth appreciating portraits made by artists from across the world, There is a dedicated book section and library inside the main building. Documentary shown here summaries his life and must be seen, there is also a souvenir shop. Drinking water available, No entry fee

Must visit in New Delhi. We haven't seen much people but this place has a lot of detail about Mahathma Gandhi. It is near to the raj-ghat. It is a very clam and peaceful place. Take few hours and go through all the photographs, it will provide better view about his life. This place is well maintained. There is no any entrance fee.

A wonderful place which gives you an insight on the Mahatma's life which is just a stone throw away from the place where he has been put to rest. The vehicle on which his mortal remains and the sofa where Mahatma once sat during a gathering have been kept for the public to view.

The National Gandhi Museum has large image galleries with photographs, artwork, paintings, and relics depicting Gandhi's life, work, and ideas. It also has a well-kept specialised library with almost 40000 books, publications, and his correspondence, as well as publications on world peace and faiths. I could have stayed here all day. The museum, as well as the entire memorial site, is extremely educational. It is incredibly touching to walk in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi on his final voyage. The atmosphere is courteous and has a strong impact on me.

The National Gandhi Museum and Library as the name suggests is both a museum and a library, the former dedicated to the great father of the nation of India, the latter mostly a library, but with an emphasis on Gandhi. The museum chronicles the life and times of Gandhi through exhibits, photographs and paintings. If you want to know about the achievements of the great many, this museum is one of the best places to do that.

A good place to get close to Gandhiji. Souvenir shops is vast enough with literature and artifacts. A two terraced museum recreates a lot of memories of Mahatma and facts you wouldn't have known earlier. Take ample time with you to live throughout the lanes, don't be in a hurry to cover up. Ideally, take seperate days for both Rajghat, Gandhi Museum and Gandhi Smriti. Library is only for scholars and researchers.

It is a very informative place. It has huge collection of data on Gandhiji. The collection starts from his early age untill his demise. It also has some technological advancements that you can enjoy like the recreation of Gandhiji's heart beat and Gandhiji's address to the nation through the telephone. One of the many attractions related to Gandhiji is the huge collection of Charkhas. A mesmerising place indeed.

Mahatma Gandhi was not a common man like us. He was a prophet. He took birth on this earth for the upliftment of humans. Paramhans Yoganand mentioned in his Book "Autobiography of a yogi' that India is safe in the hands of Mahatma gandhi. All the countries of the world must follow the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi to spread peace in the world.

The National Gandhi Museum in New Delhi serves as a profound testament to the life, philosophy, and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Nestled in the heart of the capital, the museum is a pilgrimage for those seeking a deeper understanding of India's struggle for independence and the principles of non-violence. The museum's exhibits eloquently chronicle Gandhi's life, from his early years to the pivotal moments of the freedom movement. Personal belongings, letters, and rare photographs provide an intimate glimpse into the man behind the Mahatma. The spinning wheel, a symbol of self-reliance, stands prominently, embodying Gandhi's commitment to simplicity and economic independence. Thoughtfully curated, the museum engages visitors in a reflective journey through India's history, emphasizing the enduring relevance of Gandhi's teachings. The serene surroundings of the National Gandhi Museum, coupled with its educational richness, make it a sanctuary for introspection and understanding. This is one of my favourite places, the artefacts and relics are so unique. The museum itself has been kept in very good condition and its totally worth several visits!! Make sure to check out the archive library and the gift shop for unique books. My favourite part was reading the newspapers from the mid 1950's and specially observing the transition of "Hindu Opinion" and "The Hindustan Times" paper.

To promote and propagate the life, work and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Nation, through visual arts, photographs, paintings, manuscripts and display of his worldly possessions (relics). Also to set up memorial pillars, tablets and establish a few museums and libraries in different parts of India. The museum section contains huge picture galleries depicting Gandhi's life, work and ideals in photographs, artworks, paintings and his relics. Also a well-maintained specialized library having nearly 40,000 books, magazines, his correspondence, books on world peace and religions.

Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on 30 January 1948. Shortly after his death, collectors began searching India for anything of importance about Gandhi. Originally the personal items, newspapers, and books related to Gandhi were taken to Mumbai. In 1951, the items were moved to buildings near the Kota House in New Delhi. The museum moved again in 1957 to a mansion. In 1959, The Gandhi Museum moved for a final time to Rajghat, New Delhi next to the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. The museum officially opened in 1961, on the 13th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination, when Dr. Rajendra Prasad, then President of India, formally opened the new location.

Indaragadhi memoriyal Sthala, the memorial of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in New Delhi, had design brief that the place should be reminiscent of her childhood memories of Kashmir – sweeping meadows, framed views, clusters of flowering trees and rolling hill rocks. It also had to represent the diversity of the country for which she lived and died. The primordial elements of nature – earth, water, rocks and trees were the only design elements used in the project. Delhi

Hriday Kunj inside Gandhi Museum is replica of the house Gandhi stayed at. It is situated near ITO chowk at main mathura road. This house has a room in which Gandhi ji stayed with his Charkha and other things. It has kitchen, Guest room, store room among others. It is constructed with wooden pillers and tin roof. The Kitchen has has pots to show how things were stored and Chulha used to cook food. All the walls are decorated with pictures of Gandhi ji and associates in different stages of life. Few documents are also placed on outer wall of the Hariday Kunj. Outside it there was a decorative stone with statues of three monkeys showing Not to see bad, Not to speak bad and Not to listen to bad things silently.

The best attraction is the huge library which houses thousands of books on the life of Gandhi from across the world as well as thousand others which are indirectly related to him or his philosophy. Books are meant to be read there and are not issued to take home. There is no membership. Bags are not allowed inside the reading room. There is a book store too. Other sections of the museum are devoted to decades old photographs, which can take one back into history. His quotes, speeches, personal belongings besides various statues all around the complex. There is a small canteen too, which serves few options in food, tea and snacks. Operated by a nice family. Complex is maintained well, quite neat and clean. Sufficient water coolers. Toilets are neat and clean too. There is sufficient parking space inside the premises. All in all a great place of importance worth bringing family. Cupid's Canopy brought natural honey in 8 variants including fennel, coriander and lychee during the 2nd October fest.
