Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium located at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi.Established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, being near the Kotla fort, it is the second oldest international cricket stadium still functional in India, after the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. As a matter of felicitation, the DDCA named four stands of the stadium after former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi, former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath, former India opener and Delhi Ranji player Gautam Gambhir and current captain Virat Kohli. It was also decided to name the home team's dressing room after Raman Lamba and the opposition's dressing room after Prakash Bhandari. The Feroz Shah Kotla stadium is one of the oldest and well known cricket ground in India🇮🇳. It has been taken from the 14th century monument situated next to it. Arun jaitly is credited with rebuilding the stadium and saving it from losing its international status. Jaitley was the president of Delhi and District Cricket Association [ DDCA ] from 1999 to 2013. The stadium was established as a cricket ground in 1883. The stadium has undergone some heavy reconstruction and is equipped with latest amenities for successfully organizing international cricket matches. The Kotla is famous for Anil Kumble’s feat of taking 10 wickets in a Test innings which he claimed against Pakistan. The stadium though has traditionally been a batsman's paradise due to the nature of the pitches which for the most part have been docile. • Venue Detailes - Bahadur shah zafar Marg, New Delhi, Dl 110002 . • capacity - 55000. • Ends - Stadium End, Pavilion End . • Association Name - Delhi District Cricket Association • Floodslights - presents. • operator - Delhi District Cricket AssociationAssociation.

Entry system is pathetic. No management at all. High chances of stampede. I went for SA vs India t20 match in june 2022. Security didnt allow me to take 50ml hand sanitizer bottle saying that inside I would get sanitizer. There wasn't a single place where I could sanitizer. Food served are of extremely low quality and very unhygienically served. Such horrible experience of entry n Food killed the entire excitement of thr match. I left half an hour before to avoid exit mess.

Went during IPL match, the ground is alright. Seats are mot well maintained. There were many broken and dirty seats in ground. There is very little improvement done to stadium. It doesn’t feel like an international ground. They need to bring it up to standards of newer grounds around the world and in country. Only up side is that it is on a historic place hence has value. The management is doing best they can to manage crowds. There is little space around the stadium to manage crowd efficiently. Good experience but could have been better.

One of the oldest cricket stadium in India near Delhi gate. Best stadium with all facilities. Kudos to the crowd who made the match alive with there support to both the team. Please make sure you enter on time and be seated as seats are not reserved it's come and take your seat. Food and beverages served are tripled in price. A glass of thums up 200 ml approx was Rs. 100. Wefers 20 rs. Packet was Rs. 80. And best part is eatables are not allowed from outside. Please do not take your power bank, mobile charger or even comb. These items will not be allowed inside.

As of 2016, the India national cricket team has been undefeated for over 28 years in Test matches and for over 10 years in ODI matches at this ground.[5] Formerly Sunil Gavaskar hit his 29th test ton in this ground to equal Don Bradman's then record tally of 29 centuries. The ground is also known for Anil Kumble's 10 wickets in an innings against Pakistan[6] and Sachin Tendulkar's 35th test ton to overcome Gavaskar to become the batsman with the most international Test centuries.[7] As of 25 October 2019 it has hosted 34 Tests, 25 ODIs and 6 T20I. On 12 September 2019, the stadium was renamed in memory of former Finance Minister and former DDCA President Arun Jaitley. The decision to name the stadium after the politician, who was once the president of DDCA and also the vice-president of the BCCI came after he died on 24 August 2019. Speaking on the name change, current DDCA president Rajat Sharma said: "It was Arun Jaitley's support and encouragement that players like Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Ashish Nehra, Rishabh Pant and many others could make India proud."[8] After announcing the name change, DDCA put out a clarification stating the stadium is only being renamed but the ground will be still called Feroz Shah Kotla Ground.

The stadium has all the facilities needed to host an athletic meet. The amenities are great. Its maintenance and cleanliness are appreciable. There are VIP rooms. Washrooms are enough and non-stinking. Rooms to be allotted to different teams are enough in number. Chairs are conditioned. There is a canteen area where different stalls can be put up for selling eatables and beverages. The stadium right in the heart of the city. Hence, it is easily accessible. Specially, the Central Railway Station is walking distance from here. On the completion of the Metro Project, it will be accessed from different parts of the city.

It's a nice stadium with big stands to accommodate the public. There are various gates for entry and exit. Hill A and hill B stands are located on mid on and mid off. Also there is a food and drinks facility in the stadium. Coins, metal items, eatables and remote car keys are not allowed during the match.

Stadium is Small you can clearly watch match & pitch enjoy match. Hygiene & cleanliness was issue with washrooms 🚻. Food stall during match is on ground floor & water is not on every floor so it's dissappointed thing for ODI matches. Entry gates closed so soon before exit of all fans maybe security reasons. The stadium management is pathetic to say the least. Food items are sold at more than double the MRP price, which increase every hour. Be prepared to spend 80 rupees for a 20 rupees water bottle or pack of chips. And they won't allow you to carry anything inside, not even water, for "security reasons." Maybe the bottles they sell inside can't be thrown towards the ground, because one would think twice before throwing an empty bottle after paying such exorbitant price for it!

    1. Not a very good one, though descent enough for enjoying a match. 2. Chairs are old and dirty. Somewhere broken too. 3. East Stand and Northwest Stand are the cheapest ones. Prefer NW ones as East Stand will face direct sunrays since morning. 4. Food packets are extremely costly. Selling water bottles is not allowed inside the stadium. Though they sell small glasses of water of Rs. 10. 5. Two screens are there, diagonally opposite to each other. 6. In the East Stand, there is lot of confusion as to which portion should be called first floor. The security people were confused too. We purchased first floor tickets, but probably got seats in the ground floor itself, which was costlier. 7. Delhi Gate metro station is the nearest one. Use gate-5 for exit. Take right turn and you will follow the stadium since there itself. 8. Long queues are there before each gates, even if you reach 2 hrs before the start of the game. Double check whether standing in the right queue or not. 9. Take good note of things you should not carry, otherwise it will be hectic to put things in cloak room, which is not very organized in appearance.

Although the ground and the seating arrangements are decent it is a pure chaos while trying to enter the ground. There are no clear instructions as to which items are allowed and which are not. Everyone has their own versions. Even home keys are not allowed and have to submitted in the clock room which is another mountain to climb. We were here for an IPL match and even though we arrived an hour ago we entered the stadium 2 overs into the game. Also the online tickets doesn't work at the stadium and you need to pickup the tickets from another place called box office near ITO around 2 km away from the stadium. So please do that before you reach the ground. I found the food and beverage counters pretty good.

Food stalls of Haldirams, Domino's, McDonald's, Wow momo, Hyderabadi Biryani, Pepsi etc. and vendors with icecreams were available to satiate the taste buds of the spectators during the match. Bathrooms are also very clean and hygienic. Overall nice experience.

The stadium was better with newly installed washrooms and seats in the east wing. The seats were sturdy and the overall stadium seemed much better than before. The light show in the drinks break was extraordinary. The only thing that was the same as before was the whole green uneven ground with torn grass. Can't tell about the pitch though.

The DDCA announced on 27 August 2019 that the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground would be renamed as Arun Jaitely Stadium, in honour of the late Union Minister and former DDCA President Arun Jaitley, Interestingly the ground would retain the name of Feroze Shah Kotla Ground. The Feroz Shah Kotla stadium is one of the oldest and well known cricket ground in India. The stadium was established as a cricket ground in 1883.The stadium has undergone some heavy reconstruction and is equipped with latest amenities for successfully organizing international cricket matches. The Kotla is famous for Anil Kumble’s feat of taking 10 wickets in a Test innings which he claimed against Pakistan. The stadium though has traditionally been a batsman's paradise due to the nature of the pitches which for the most part have been docile. On 12 September 2019, the stadium was renamed in memory of former Finance Minister and former DDCA President Arun Jaitley. The decision to name the stadium after the politician, who was once the president of DDCA and also the vice-president of the BCCI came after he died on 24 August 2019. 👍 It's really the largest stadium in Delhi. I've been there for the world's largest Global Climate Clock Assembly. Cleanliness was mentioned but not very well because it's really a very large place to manage.
