This temple is located in New Delhi but it feels like we really are in south side. This temple has got some great architectural structure. Great place to spend some devotional moments. People from different places visit this temple. Major attraction of this temple is the golden chariot which we can see on special occasions only in the temple premises.

In Malai Mandir, there are some rules about dress while entering into temple. The whole body should be covered. If you are visiting there, girl should wear dupatta and full coverage dress. It is compulsory rule and we should follow our religion

Entry to visit this beautiful temple is free of cost and it takes about 1 to 1½ hours to view the whole temple complex. Temple is well maintained, clean. Uttara Swami Malai Temple, popularly known as Malai Mandir (literally, Hill Temple in Tamil), is a Hindu temple complex in New Delhi, India. Primarily dedicated to Lord Swaminatha (more commonly known as Lord Murugan), most revered by the religious Hindus of Tamil and other South Indian community in the city. The main temple within the complex, formally called Sree Swaminatha Swami Temple, houses the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Swaminatha. This is in keeping with the tradition of locating Murugan temples on hills. The sign outside the main temple is written in Tamil, proclaiming Lord Swaminatha's motto, "Yaamirukka Bayamain" (யாமிருக்க பயமேன்) meaning "Why fear when I am there?". The temple is built entirely of granite, and is reminiscent of the Chola style Tamil Architecture. Besides the main Swaminatha Swami Temple, the complex contains temples dedicated to Sree Karpaga Vinayagar (elder brother of Lord Swaminatha), Sree Sundareswarar (father of Lord Swaminatha) and Devi Meenakshi (mother of Lord Swaminatha). These subsidiary temples draw inspiration from the Pandya style of Tamil Architecture, as can be seen at the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. In the Hindu religion, the peacock is considered Lord Swaminatha's mount or vahana. Accordingly, the temple has adopted a peacock as its pet. This peacock can be seen and heard among the trees and foliage within the temple compound. People from various backgrounds visit the temple. Must visit for Hindus & other who want to see Indian culture.

Temple of shiv parivar, in south language everest known as malai so.and kartikay bhagwan live on everests. Meenakshi devi is maa parvati. If u are north indian or havent been to any south indian temple yet must go there. U will find it verry peaceful place. The priest are all dressed up In verry traditional way. U can also book pooja here, at office u just have to pay 460₹ in advance. And u can choose a date on that date u have to come. And verry nicely maintained...

Beautiful Tamilian architecture temple in RK Puram. Visited recently on Sunday evening. Just before temple on right side there is large and free parking area. Few flower shops are just outside temple gate. Ground area as few deities and as you climb up the stairs you reach Lord Murugan's temple. Aarti time is great time to be there at. Bhagwan's idol is bathed with honey and other offerings. The atmosphere is divine. View from the top is awesome.

Perfect vibes. The sense of peace and calm I felt there is ineffable. There were proper facilities for buying Archana Samagri, Prasadam, Drinking water, etc. The temple was very clean and had proper timings. Each God had their own Garbha Grah and you can offer Archana to any of the God. Overall, i would surely recommend this temple, if you want to experience south indian culture in Delhi itself then it's the place for you!

Visiting this temple after almost 30 years Lots of changes. Earlier it used to be a quiet place, without many footfalls. Now it has grown into a large complex, and is unrecognisable for oldies like us in our 70s. Nevertheless, now there is a large number of devotees, several smaller temples inside the complex, and a much more organised procedure. The 'curd rice' prasadam brought back a lot of memories of my time spent here.

Temple of Kartikeya (Sanskrit: कार्त्तिकेय, IAST: Kārttikeya), also known as Skanda, Kumara, Murugan and Subrahmanya, is the Hindu god of war. He is the son of Parvati and Shiva, brother of Ganesha, and a god whose life story has many versions in Hinduism. Vaikasi Visakam is the day when Lord Murugan was born. As the name suggests, it is the day in the month of Vaikasi when the Visakam (Vishakha) Nakshatra prevails. And it is also the day when the full moon appears in the sky in its full glory. Lord Muruga is the protector of humanity. He is the commander of all divine forces and eliminate all evils and devils by transforming them from their bad state to deva state, like he did with Surapadman. ... Lord Muruga is the God to pray to. He is the first son of God for human beings but He is God for all creation.

Situated in sector 7, r.k. puram new delhi, this temple reflects the grandeur and glory of south indian temple architecture at its best. The temple complex reverentially named as "Malai Mandir" is a harmoniously blended Tamil Word "Malai" {Mountain/Hill) with the Hindi word "Mandir" (Temple) by the people of Delhi, however the actual name of the temple is uttra swamimalai mandir. The temple is managed by sree swaminatha swami seva samaj.

Really good place to visit. It is a temple related to South Indian culture. I cam to visit it a few days ago. It is really high up, around 100 steps using stairs. You get to learn a lot about South Indian culture. And the most fun part😜? It is when you climb up the mandir all the way to the top and want to go back, Don't use stairs, use the winding area to the right side of the structure. It is really fun! Only problem in the mandir is that it can get really hot the summer and your feet can burn! Rest is good, wonderful place!

"I recently visited Malai Mandir in RK Puram, Delhi and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The temple is beautifully constructed and radiates positive vibes. As soon as I entered, I was greeted with a sense of peace and serenity. The ambiance inside the temple is very peaceful and tranquil, which makes it an ideal place for worship and meditation. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan, and the architecture of the temple is very unique and intricate. I was fascinated by the stunning carvings and sculptures that adorn the walls and ceilings of the temple. The main idol of Lord Murugan is located in the sanctum sanctorum, and the whole place is lit up with beautiful lights that add to the charm of the temple. The staff at the temple were very welcoming and friendly. They provided us with all the necessary information about the temple and its history. The temple also has a gift shop where you can buy various items like souvenirs, prayer items, and books. Overall, my visit to Malai Mandir was a wonderful experience. The positive vibes and peaceful ambiance of the temple left me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend this temple to anyone who is looking for a place to meditate, worship or simply seek inner peace."

Uttara Swami Malai Temple, also known as Malai Mandir in sector 7, R.K puram. Main God is Lord Murugan , he is in top of the temple. His parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Meenakshi & brother pillaiyar located at the entrance of the temple. Temple looks nice 👍 but could have maintain cleanliness. The many of priest here knows tamil language. Many tamil speaking people lives in & around r.k.puram. Don't forget to have ur breakfast near to the temple. It's a mini petty shop run by Tamil guy. He Maintain hygiene. He is selling idly & sambar with two types of chutney in authentic home-style idly & vada. Serving 2 idly & 2 vada for rs:50. But its not hot. After 1 week of eating chapathi , the idly seems big for me . Taste was very good.

Very nice temple. Ambience is very good. There are 2 ways to reach the main diety, one by stairs and the other by a smooth incline on the left side of temple. Suggesting people to wear clean socks during visit as the walking surface can get quite cold. Visit felt like going to a temple in south India. Highly recommended.

Total tamil culture and community based temple with both north south mix temple architecture (shikara and gopuram). I went at around 6:00 AM. Temple gates open at 6:30AM. Flower shops opened at around 7:15 AM. Morning puja and harathi are pleasant and calming. It was more pleasant experience as it rained that morning. View from the hill is beautiful. Nearest metro station is Munirka (Magenta line) or M. vishweswaraia (pink line). Walkable distance from metro.

It is a very peaceful place Whenever I go there, I get some divine feelings. A good place for any one, especially south indians residing in Delhi. We hardly find this kind of temples in Delhi where we see traditions and rituals like in South Indian temples. Also, you can find people speaking in your south indian languages here. You can find Jasmine flowers here. You cannot get them in Delhi in most of the areas.

Very nice place in delhi. Type malai temple or uttraswami malai temple in google maps. Do visit the temple and attend abhishekam done with proper rituals and cultural delight. Lord subramanya swami murthy is very gracious and you will have goosebumps once you attend with full devotion and belief in swami. (Bhagwan) minimum place for parking but it's not an big issue. Do purchase flowers outside the temple. And follow the temple authority directive. Must visit place in your list of delhi visit..

Some Temples attract you again and again and this is the place i visited 3rd time! It is a south Indian temple which is dedicated to Lord Swaminatha (Kartikeya) as main diety and the ground floor has Parvati, Ganesh and Siva Temples along with a place for Navgraha! If you want to get spiritual vibes amidst Delhi's chaos, this is the perfect place to be!
