After reading in newspaper that zoo is open, I went there 3 times and It was closed. But this time as today 4 April 2021 its open. Tickets are very limited and also available online. Luckily I got the tickets and visit the zoo same day but there were announcements that for today there is no tickets now. No food items are allowed. I have two kids and having biscuits and fruits in bag, but is was not allowed. Inside in kiosk only liquid(milk was out of stock) and mother dairy ice cream that too of limited variety and stock available. Overall a good experience. HYNA IS A NEW ADDITION.

Great fun. But due too much hot weather all animals are under the roof or the covered area. Only online tickets are available so buy tickets before you leave your place. No foods are allowed in the zoo area. You can enjoy drink and ice cream in the zoo area. Best time to visit in summer - Early Morning because crowds are too less

Tickets were not available at ticket window, only online tickets were allowed. Delhi Zoo is a place for kids and animal lovers. It is spread over large area and battery operated vehicles ply inside for the comfort of visitors. One can find many types of birds, African and Asian elephant, White Bengal tiger, Tiger jaguar, lion, Hippopotamus, rhinos, and many other animals. Zoo is clean and well maintained. Parking lot is also there. Even washrooms are there at different locations. A beautiful lake is also there inside it. At least 3-4 hours are required to visit it, and a complete day if you see each and every animal with details.

Well maintained Zoological park that contains all the major fauna usual of the zoos. We can see African elephant alongwith Indian ones, Jaguar, white tiger, large owl etc that not all zoos contain, besides the usual fauna. For me the natural setting of the place along with sighting of all the major faunas was a pleasant surprise. It has small e-rickshaws catering to the tourists. If one wants to take a look around on foot, it may take 6-7 hours in a relaxed mode. Highly recommend the place.

I recently visited this place and these are my following observations: 1. They have a wide variety of animal species here from Ghariyal to Elephants and from Tigers to Deers. 2. They have a shuttle service in case you don't want to walk that much. You can take the shuttle and see each and every section one by one. 3. My favourite here was African Elephant, White Tiger and One Horned Rhinos. 4. I will recommend you to visit this place if you like greenery and animals. It's a good place for kids to learn so much. 5. You can take the metro till Khan Market or any other station of your choosing and then you can take an auto for this place.

I visited twice there and really enjoyed the time I spent. I would like to thank to entire zoo management for such a well maintained surroundings. Very neat and clean & well organised. You can find variety of birds, monkeys, deer’s, lion, white tiger, African & Indian elephants, leopard, hippopotamus, crocodiles, rhinos, and lot more animals along with reptiles house. In current covid situation it’s better to book online tickets from website as per your plan as it is time saving & please adhere other guidelines. As eatables are not allowed to carry inside, so plan accordingly. You’ll find plenty of eatables and drink to hydrate yourself in this scorching sun. Those who’re interested in wildlife photography or new learner’s must visit this place and a lot to do with lenses.

This is a beautiful zoo. And lovely to see the view of all the animals. Couldn’t visit the snake house and the butterfly garden but would definitely go there next time. It’s beautiful to visit in winters with the warmth of the sun.

In this Zoo chimpanzee, hippopotamus, spider monkey, African wild buffalo, Giraffes, Gir lion, Zebras, migratory birds like peafowl, and well as hyenas, macaques, and jaguars. Zoo is closed on every Friday and National Holidays. Atmosphere is also cool and healthy for family and groups enjoy here.

Its a great place to have fun with your kids. They will be more than happy to visit this place. You have to book tickets online hence book your ticket in advance before reaching there so that you don't have to wait much. Food is not allowed inside . You can bring water bottle. I visited Zoo on Sunday in early morning but all the food outlets inside and cafeteria outside was closed. Make sure to visit there in early morning to avoid crowd as it is very crowded place in evening time. For senior citizens or those who don't want to walk much can avail electric cart which costs 80 rs. Per person or you can book whole cart in 800 rs if you are coming with family. Entry ticket for Zoo is 80 rs. per person. Children ( 5-12 years ) 40 rs. You can enjoy at least 2-3 hours there.

This is CLOSED! Google shows up that it's open with mentioned timings but if you read this before visit there then you are not going to waste your time. i visited it last week with my nieces and nephew but as soon i reached there i found it's closed and when i asked the guard he said it has not opened since lockdown. disappointing.

The zoo is nicely maintained, the animals are looked after with utmost care. The washrooms and drinking water points are available throughout the different areas of the zoo. The only problem you will face in booking of the tickets as no paytms works. Kindly, carry an atm card or internet banking credentials only then.. one would be able to step in the zoo. I also recommend before you start exploring the zoo .. please book a battery driven vehicle.. which runs inside the zoo as it would be convenient for you to move and visit the different sections of the zoo easily. The best part of the zoo is when you take the route for the exit as it houses some huge, furious and gigantic animals. * Don't carry anything that could be harmful for animals such as polythene bags not even packed food in polythene bags or foods. * Don't try to touch and cross the barrier in order to go near and see them closely. * Don't throw any object at animals or excite them and expect they would listen and follow you. * One act of indiscretion or foolishness can can be fatal for your life or result in penalty. * The zoo is spread in a wide area so big that it would take a whole day to see it properly. * Don't book your tickets in the evening time as the zoo gets closed around 5 pm. * There is no ticket booking counter. Tickets are purchased online as of 23.5.2022. * I request the management of the zoo to also open a small section..where one could go and read about all the animals of the the world, right from the jurassic world and enhance one's knowledge about the animal kingdom. ## IF YOU HAVE LIKED MY COMMENT. KINDLY, LIKE AND SHARE ##

Great place to visit with kids or friends. There are several animals in the zoo such as Leopard, Jaguar, White tiger, lion, hippopotamus, crocodile, elephant, fox, wolf, different kinds of monkeys etc. There are several birds as well in the zoo which are very rare and the colorful parrots are also a good mention. Ticket fare is 80rs for adults and 40rs for children above 5 years. There is no fee for children below 5 years. For ticket booking, you need to do online booking because there are no ticket counters. Overall it was a great and enjoyable trip and I'll recommend everyone who comes to Delhi to visit this zoo once.

Brilliant Animals. BUT Very poorly managed, digital Bharat doesn't mean the digitally illiterate people will not be able to buy tickets offline. Be sensible. White Tiger is the only reason why I am not giving it 1 star. The staff keeps blowing whistle which is irritating to both the animals and visitors. Overall: Poor Internet but GREAT ANIMALS :) Rubbish Human interface. The zoo must be sensitive towards digitally illiterate people and allow for sale of offline tickets too.

Our main purpose to visit was to introduce our 3 years daughter to animals and birds. In that way the visit fulfilled our purpose. I believe the management has to spend more time in maintenance and introducing more animals. Eatables are not allowed but there are various outlets for juices and ice cream, so people might start feeling bit hungry and may be the management can introduce some controlled food options inside the premises

What a place to spend time. Wonderful environment, wonderful animals, everything wonderful. Best place to spend time with kids, they'll learn many things about animal there. They'll get to see almost every animal which they usually see on tv or in their books. You'll get to see lion, white tiger, royal bengal tiger, birds, monkeys, crocodile, hippopotamus, different types of deer, jackal, wild cat, peacock, elephant, ostrich, monkey, swan, etc. Suggestion is to reach there between 8-9am to avoid unnecessary rush. If you wish to take ride from their e-passenger vehicle, that would be easily available during this time too else prefer walking as you'll love the green environment, but you'll be tired by end 🙈 It doesn't costs much but your experience will be great. Highly recommended. Maintenance by the government is also highly commendable

This place was Inaugurated in 1959, National Zoological Park also known as Chitiya Ghar. It is a favourite weekend spot among adults and children. National Zoological Park is well maintained and is largely visited by tourists. It has canteens inside for the visitors and battery-operated vehicles at very reasonable prices which you could use if exhausted. But the real fun is in exploring the place on your feet. You can see many animals like elephant, indian tiger, white tiger, lion, crocodile and many more.

National Zoological Park (NZP, Delhi Zoo) opened after almost one year. We visited on the very opening day ie. 01.04.2021. Ticket booking is online only so I request you to all going there kindly book prior ticket online. There is no window for ticket. We have seen almost every animal present in the NZP. Tiger, white tiger and Jaguar were not much active. Park is very maintained. You see many colourful birds, eagle, owl etc. Exquisite experience. Must go it hardly takes 2-3 hours to roam around the whole park on foot. So go and enjoy some quality time with family and friends 🙏

The zoo has been maintained very well. Though I wish the animals were better fed. I've been here a couple of times and it's only gotten better than before. The enclosures are clean and the signs and notifications are in place. The gold cart is convenient. I would recommend getting a private cart if you're travelling with senior people

National Zoological Park is home to a large number of species of birds, reptiles and mammals which live in an environment that in many ways resemble their natural habitat. The zoo not only provides a home for endangered species, but also helps them to breed well in captivity. Some of the special attractions at the Zoo include White Tiger, Gaur, Jaguar, Rhinoceros, Elephants, Brow-antlered Deer (Sangai), Lion-tailed Macaque, Migratory birds (during winters) etc. have more enriched environment for the animals, quality of animal exhibits, conservation education and sustainable management practices. We are working towards generating awareness and compassion in the society towards wildlife and to garner their support for the national conservation effort. We also thrive to play an effective role in species preservation and reducing man animal conflicts in urban landscape.

Nice option for a weekend, especially for the kids. It has the shuttle services inside the zoo which are being operated by electric. The zoo is really huge so most of the visitors prefer to go for the shuttle available inside. You need to buy an extra ticket for this service. There are a good variety of animals that can be seen here. Some water and ice cream stalls are also available inside. Though right now all are closed as the existing contract has been came to an end the zoo authority is in progress to renewing the same. So hopefully the stalls will be opened soon. Overall a nice visit here.

The National Zoological Park in Delhi offers an incredible wildlife experience for visitors of all ages. I recently had the opportunity to explore the zoo and was impressed by the diverse range of animals and the overall experience it provided. The ticket prices are reasonable, with adults being charged Rs. 70/- per head, children between 5 and 12 years at Rs. 30/- per head, and children below 5 years granted free entry. The zoo operates in two slots, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, allowing visitors to plan their visit conveniently. The variety of animals at the National Zoological Park is impressive. From majestic white tigers and Indian tigers to African and Indian elephants, lions, leopards, jaguars, foxes, crocodiles, and a fascinating array of bird species including peacocks, the zoo offers a captivating wildlife experience. Additionally, the presence of different types of deer, hippos, and even a baby hippo adds to the charm of the visit. Although the cafeteria inside the zoo is temporarily closed, visitors are advised to carry their own water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the visit. However, there are ample opportunities to relax and enjoy the surroundings, with several shaded areas and seating arrangements provided. The National Zoological Park provides an educational and entertaining experience, allowing visitors to learn about various animal species and their conservation. The well-maintained enclosures offer a comfortable and safe environment for the animals, ensuring their well-being. Overall, the National Zoological Park in Delhi is a must-visit for nature and animal enthusiasts. With its diverse range of animals, affordable ticket prices, and the opportunity to explore the wonders of the animal kingdom, the zoo promises an enjoyable and educational outing for the entire family.

The National Zoological Park is home to over 130 species of animals, including some of the most popular and endangered animals in the world. I had a wonderful time exploring all the different animals and learning about their habitats. The park is well-maintained, and It is having plenty of shady spots to rest and enjoy a picnic. The animals looked healthy and happy in their environments but some of the animals are so lazy. Some of the fascinating species to see, includes the white tigers, which are a rare and endangered species, elephants, rhinos, lions, deers, and many other animals. It is also home to a variety of birds, reptiles, and amphibians. However the Reptile House is closed till March so you won't be able to visit that place. It offers a diverse range of wildlife, making it an educational and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they are always happy to answer any questions you might have. I recommend booking tickets in advance through website because there's a plenty of rush for offline booking. You can also use the EV Buggie to travel the whole zoo as it might take hours to visit the whole park by foot.

It's an amazing destination to visit. There is an issue that some animals hide behind trees and other shelters in hot weather. So, I recommend you to not go in the zoo in summers or in hot weather. There we can find all types of animals from deer to wolf, tiger to parrot, etc. There is also a student's discount in the ticket. There a type of bus ride is available which leads us to different places by paying some small charges. It needs very much foot strength and time. Overall, it is a good place to visit.

It was such a great experience in zoo. Visited after almost 25 years. Zoo is such a neat and clean place to go with family. Well kept by the authorities. Winter season is the best time to visit with spectacular animal species like hoppo, rhino, white tiger, emu and specially ostrich. It was great to watch different types of deer herd. So far kids only read about some of the species only in the books which are on the verge of extinction but Delhi zoo gives them live opportunity and experience to see them physically. It's a must visit place being in Delhi.

Book your ticket online or you can take it there also, but you can save time if you buy online. 80rs ticket There is huge parking space 50rs car parking. I will recommend that if you are coming with kids so take battery car, for which you have to take another ticket for 70rs per person and 5years above kids 40rs. Please Avoid in summer ☀️ time. Zoo will open from 10am to evening 5pm

Nestled amidst the bustling metropolis of Delhi, the National Zoological Park stands as a serene sanctuary for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. As I ventured into this haven of biodiversity, I found myself immersed in a world where the harmony of nature reigns supreme. Spanning over 176 acres, the zoo boasts a diverse array of species from across the globe, meticulously curated to provide a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Earth's fauna. From majestic tigers prowling in their enclosures to graceful giraffes grazing under the sun-kissed sky, every corner of the park holds a treasure trove of marvels waiting to be discovered. One of the highlights of my visit was the unique opportunity to witness rare and endangered species up close, including the elusive white tiger and the majestic Asiatic lion. The zoo's conservation efforts shine through its breeding programs aimed at preserving vulnerable species, offering visitors a chance to witness firsthand the importance of wildlife preservation. Moreover, the park's well-planned layout and lush greenery create an immersive experience, allowing visitors to meander through winding pathways adorned with verdant foliage. The tranquil ambiance, punctuated by the melodic chirping of birds and the gentle rustle of leaves, provides a welcome respite from the chaotic urban landscape outside. For families, the National Zoological Park offers an educational and entertaining outing, with informative signboards and interactive exhibits guiding visitors through the wonders of the natural world. Children can delight in the playful antics of monkeys or marvel at the intricate patterns adorning the scales of exotic reptiles, fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity about the animal kingdom. In conclusion, a visit to the National Zoological Park is a journey of discovery and appreciation for the beauty and diversity of life on Earth. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a tranquil retreat amidst the city's hustle and bustle, this enchanting oasis promises an unforgettable experience that celebrates the wonders of the natural world.

It's a nice place to visit & spend time with kids (under 12 years). Approx 3-4 hrs are required to visit the complete zoo. Battery operated vehicles are available too with extra charges. We saw Cheetah, Rhinoceros, Elephant, Tiger, Ostrich, several varieties of roosters, parrot, macaws & cockatoo, different types of deer, 2-3 types of monkey, jackal, fox, crocodile, however both white tiger and lion were sleeping 😅 Things to take care: # Plastics are completely banned inside the zoo so please carry food and water in lunch boxes & water bottles (reusable ones). # Ticket booking can be done online & is cheaper that way. # All the canteens were closed when we visited so carry your own food/ snack if required.

It's a nice place to visit with kids and family. 2-3 hours is enough time to roam around. Well maintained. Drinking Water and Toilet facilities are available at many places but No food is allowed inside the Zoo, so eat properly before entering because there are no canteens inside the area. The advantage and disadvantage of Ticketing is Ticket books only through official websites. Maybe A non educated person will face an issue.

Excellent place to visit. The place has a numerous amount of animals and birds. Many of them are also extinct. A place in your heart also makes you feel that they should be set free and they should not caged just for the people. But on the other hand, if you see the bigger picture, the smaller children and teens should get to know the animal, should know more about the animals that are vulnerable to extinction. It’s important to teach the young ones the value of wildlife and also how beautiful it is. Now it’s not possible for everyone to visit a wildlife sanctuary, so the Zoological Parks come handy. But more or less, this Zoo is a must visit in Delhi.

Very good place for weekend but make sure you have advance ticket through online. Offline ticket counter often close . You can watch lion ,white tiger, bengal tiger, white peacock , macaow ,and , ostrich and many animals. But I would recommend visit in winter or monsoon because of too much heat wave in delhi .Animals don't came out from their cave.

It's located near Purana Killa and the Zoological park is quite big, it's a good place to spend a weekend with your kids or if you love wildlife. There is no offline ticket after covid you'll have to buy them online there are many QR codes outside to buy online or you can visit there website and buy directly from there. No food item or bag allowed inside except ladies purse but there is cloak room available outside to keep your bags but make sure you come little early because there's always a big line out here About the zoo: You'll find different species of animals and birds here and all are taken good care of There are rented bus available inside in case you don't want to walk all the way around they'll just take you directly to the place, you can find food stall inside and restroom are also present everywhere so no need to worry about these things. Overall you'll love the experience so do come with you kids and have a nice weekend!!

The best place to visit for every wildlife lover. Including White tigers, Giant Elephants, Rhinos and Hippopotamus lots more wild animals and birds can be seen there. It's better to avoid a time to go there when the weather is too hot 🥵, that time many animals hide themselves. 3-4 kilometre Walking is the key to enjoy the Zoo entirely, be mentally prepared for that. Although there is paid electric vehicle service available inside, but one may miss several animals using them. So better to walk. Overall good 👍🏼.

Kids and adults will equally enjoy the visit . Tickets are available online only, so book in advance. Also don't forget to book electric cart, otherwise you would have to walk too much. It would take minimum 3 hrs to visit all the enclosures. Canteen at the entrance is closed since covid. Zoo is kept neat and clean, though washrooms at gate need better upkeep. Parking is free and plenty.

Beautiful place to visit especially during winters and with family. Though I think there were cafeterias in the premises when I visited the zoo long back, it was no where to be seen this time. Maintaining decorum and cleanliness may be reason, but then I think it would be better if we could have atleast a small shop that sells minor food items or drinks. Otherwise, it was a great experience.

Delhi's biggest zoological park really awesome and well maintained with a lot of animals. One of the best place for nature lovers and turns out a nice family outing with kids. If you have elders or very young kids then better to take battery car else just roam about watch animals have soft drinks and enjoy. Best season: is winters/spring. Best time: start Early morning with heavy breakfast as you will walk a lot Most of all Enjoy your time there with family, instead of looking at your phones. Hope this helps 👍👍👍 Have a great day.

Tourist skip it but i visit it every time I visit Delhi and i find something new every time. Most quiet place in Delhi with only birds chirping. Visit in winters .

The National Zoological Park (originally Delhi Zoo) is a 176-acre (71 ha) zoo in New Delhi , India. A 16th-century citadel, a sprawling green island and a motley collection of animals and birds, all in the middle of a burgeoning urban Delhi. The zoo is home to about 1350 animals representing almost 130 species of animals and birds from around the world. The zoo can be seen on foot or using a battery-operated vehicle which can be rented at the zoo.Visitors are not permitted to bring any food other than drinking water, but there is a canteen in the zoo. In 2014 a visitor who was mentally ill, was killed as he had fallen into the white tigers enclosure. The Delhi zoo came decades later after New Delhi was built. although the idea to have a zoo at the national capital was mooted in 1951, the park was inaugurated in November 1959.[8] In 1952 the Indian Board for Wildlife created a committee to look into creating a zoo for Delhi. The government of India was to develop the zoo and then turn it over to Delhi as a working enterprise. In 1953 the committee approved the location of the zoo, and in October 1955 it assigned N. D. Bachkheti of the Indian Forest Service to oversee the creation of the zoo. Initially Major Aubrey Weinman of the Ceylon Zoological Garden (now the National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka) was asked to help draw the plans for the zoo, but because he was not available for the long term, Carl Hagenbeck of the Zoological Garden of Hamburg was hired. In March 1956, Hagenbeck presented a preliminary plan, which included the recommendation to use moated enclosures for the new zoo. The plan was modified as needed to account for local conditions, and approved by the Indian government in December 1956. By the end of 1959, the Northern part of the zoo was complete, and animals which had been arriving for some time and which had been housed in temporary pens were moved into their permanent homes. The park was opened on 1 November 1959 as the Delhi Zoo. In 1982 it was officially renamed to National Zoological Park, with hopes that it could become a model for other zoos in the country.

Great place for a day out for all ages. Water and restrooms are readily available after regular intervals. There is decent amount of crowd on weekdays too. However, please eat before coming as food availability is limited. Variety of animals is also pretty encouraging. Hopefully well taken care of. I would suggest visitors to prefer the winter season as it can get overwhelming while walking during the summer months.

Zoo is large and well maintained with huge variety of birds and animals. People should buy ticket in advance, online, and should visit early to avoid large queue for entry. Pros: -Electric Vehicle service, Pram for kids etc -Well Maintained -Huge variety of animals and birds -Public facilities like drinking water, washrooms, transport, locker room, are there and well maintained. Cons: -Some varieties like Giraaf and Bear etc were not there. - Large queue outside for entry -Bengal tiger was too lazy and never came out. -Elephant was taking bath in public shamelessly...kidding, it was quite a show😆 -Reptiles were in hibernation...😐 Overall, zoo is good and people should certainly visit it once.

It's a good place to visit if you want some fun time and relax from your job. I visited this on the 1st of January 2020 this year and we reached very early so we got to know that it opens at 9 AM. You don't get a chance to bring any food and bags inside of the main zoo area you have to submit at cloak.

    (Translated by Google) National Zoological Park The National Zoological Park was established in 1959 near the old fort in Delhi and now it has become a favorite weekend destination for children and adults. Here you can see almost all kinds of animals - birds such as lion, leopard, elephant, bear, bison, hippopotamus, peacock, African parrot, emu etc. Previously it was known as Delhi Zoo. At the time of the 1982 Asian Games, it was named the National Zoological Park with the idea of making it the country's model zoo. Birds and animals in Zoological Park live in an environment which in many ways resembles their natural habitat. The zoo not only provides natural habitat for endangered species, but also helps in breeding them. Various types of conservation and breeding programs are also conducted here for the Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, Bro Antler Deer, Deer, Indian Rhinoceros etc. When you enter the National Zoological Park, many attractive creatures welcome you in their own way. Among the wild species found here are hippopotamuses, chimpanzees, monkeys, tiger tail monkeys, Asiatic lions, Royal Bengal tiger, brow antlered deer, swamp deer, Indian rhinoceros, bear and zebra. In the second section of the zoo, migratory birds like peacock and cranes live. In the center of the zoo is an underground reptile house with a variety of snakes, lizards, turtles and pythons. As of 2008, there were 1347 animals and 127 species and are now growing. The National Zoological Park is very well organized and a large number of tourists visit here everyday. Battery powered vehicles and canteen facilities are available here for visitors. Although battery powered vehicles are available here, but Anand comes only on foot.

Nice option for a weekend, especially for the kids. It has the shuttle services inside the zoo which are being operated by electric. The zoo is really huge so most of the visitors prefer to go for the shuttle available inside. Best time to visit is early morning to avoid crowd. it may take 6-7 hours to visit all.

One of the prominent strengths of the National Zoological Park is its expansive and well-maintained grounds. The layout is thoughtfully designed, offering ample space for the animals to move around, providing visitors with a natural and comfortable environment to observe them. The lush greenery and carefully landscaped enclosures enhance the overall ambiance, making the visit a visually pleasing experience. The National Zoological Park in Delhi has taken a positive step by transitioning to online ticketing, adding convenience and efficiency to the visitor experience. This move aligns with the digital era, allowing patrons to plan and secure their tickets in advance, minimizing the hassle of long queues at the entrance. And important to be noted that offline tickets are not available now, tickets need to generate through online portal. The collection of animals at the zoo is quite extensive, showcasing a wide variety of species from different regions of India. From majestic lions and graceful deer to exotic birds and reptiles, the zoo successfully captures the biodiversity of the country. Educational signage provides valuable insights into the habits and habitats of these creatures, making it an enriching experience for visitors of all ages. However, a drawback worth mentioning is that some animals seem to be missing from the collection, and a few enclosures are unoccupied. This could potentially be due to ongoing conservation efforts, but it does leave certain sections feeling incomplete. The best time to explore the National Zoological Park is undoubtedly during the morning hours. The cooler temperatures and the lively activities of the animals as they start their day create an engaging atmosphere. Morning visits allow for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience, with the added benefit of avoiding the midday heat. One notable downside, however, is the absence of a designated refreshment zone within the zoo premises. While the surrounding area offers various eateries, having a dedicated space within the zoo would enhance the overall visitor experience. Families with children, especially those with toddlers, may find this limitation challenging, as managing a hungry or fussy young one without access to food within the premises can be inconvenient. Moreover, the strict policy prohibiting food items inside the zoo poses a challenge for parents with young children. If you're visiting with a baby aged 1-3 years, it's important to be aware that no exceptions are made, and planning accordingly becomes crucial. In conclusion, the National Zoological Park in Delhi offers a compelling and educational experience for wildlife enthusiasts. The vast area, diverse animal collection, and the immersive atmosphere make it a worthwhile visit. However, addressing the absence of some animals, providing a designated refreshment zone, and reconsidering the food policy for visitors with young children would further elevate the overall experience for families and individuals alike.

The animals themselves I would give 5/5. They are in immaculate condition. However trying to enter the zoo was another thing altogether. They told me to purchase online as I couldn't buy tickets when I arrived. Then it wouldn't work and they told me it was because I didn't have an India phone number - even though I did. Then they wouldn't accept my credit cards and told me I had to pay in cash (more than the normal amount) and I didn’t have enough cash. Such a palaver just to get in. Honestly, why is nothing straightforward in this country? It is as if you enjoy wasting peoples time.

Very good place to visit with family and children if the weather is good. Otherwise, may face too much heat or cold. Very large area to roam around. Need to walk too much if you do not take the cart ride. Cart ride is also good, thetly have stops in between so you can enjoy the enclosures. Most of the animals are there and in good condition. The paths may be somewhat puzzled and you may got lost or miss any animals. Maps are there to help but not much easy to understand. No food and drinks are allowed inside and there is only a single canteen inside. Overall good experience, but tiring one.

The zoo can be seen on foot or using a battery-operated vehicle which can be rented at the zoo. Visitors are not permitted to bring any food other than drinking water, but there is a canteen in the zoo.In 2014 a visitor who was mentally ill, was killed as he had fallen into the white tigers enclosure.

The zoo was closed due to covid pandemic and lockdown. But i had visited it when I was a school student on a class trip. The wide variety of Fauna is enough to make to feel amaze. The white tiger, variety of deers, crocodiles, birds, and a lot and lot of other animals. You will be able to spot a black beer if you are lucky enough. Visit it once it is open.

Such a pity to talk about payment method.. Waiting for hours in the hot sun and taking a decade for the payment via ONLY card payment that to, credit or debit or baking.. Never mind if it is working properly, totally scam..!! Money has been deducted and ticket hasn't come yet.. Waited for again half and hour and had to leave chanting thousands of curses whoever is making this inconvenience to people.. Listen you authorities, if you create something for public, make it little bit easy for all. For instance, paytm, gpay etc which is so available everywhere even at Lassi shops..! So shameful to those who are in charge of this..!! These people on this pictures are all fed up and waiting for tickets just like everyone.. How pathetic..!!! 🙏🏻

Known as Delhi Zoo, offers a visit to many birds and wildlife animals. Entry ticket to be purchased online only and costs you Rs 80, plus shuttle rides require additional Rs 70 fees. Recommend to visit on non sunny day, as park is very large and very much walk is required. Facilities like water and beverages are inside, except eatables ones, and has restrooms inside. Outside facilities includes parking, cloak room, restaurant area and restrooms.

National Zoological Park, is a popular attraction located in the heart of Delhi, India. Spread over a vast area, the zoo is home to a diverse range of animal species, making it a fascinating place for both locals and tourists. One of the highlights of Delhi Zoo is the opportunity to see various animals up close, including lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, rhinoceroses, and many more. The zoo aims to provide a natural and safe habitat for the animals, with spacious enclosures that allow visitors to observe them in a relatively natural environment. The zoo also has a dedicated bird aviary, where you can witness the vibrant colors and melodies of numerous bird species. Additionally, there is a reptile house that houses a variety of snakes, crocodiles, and other reptiles, offering a chance to learn more about these fascinating creatures. Visitors to Delhi Zoo can enjoy leisurely walks through the well-maintained pathways, surrounded by lush greenery. There are also plenty of seating areas and picnic spots where visitors can relax and take a break. The zoo is well-equipped with amenities such as restrooms, drinking water facilities, and food stalls offering snacks and refreshments. Overall, Delhi Zoo offers a great opportunity to explore and appreciate the beauty of wildlife in a controlled and educational setting. It's a place where you can not only have an enjoyable time with family and friends but also gain a deeper understanding of the importance of wildlife conservation.

Nice place to visit,if you just want to visit once.. not so good to revisit. Animals cannot be seen properly (not all). You have to book tickets online only,no system for physical tickets. So one should make booking in advance is the only way to save your time..as I wasted 1hr just for booking online tickets Only waterbottles are allowed.. White tiger is the main attraction you will find it (elephants, leopard, ostrich, emu, Bengal tiger too) in your way to exit. White tiger was actually kept far away still visitors could see the animal from glass so that was pretty safe but the boundaries around Bengal tiger wasn't too far for him to run and cross them neither the walls were enough high to keep visitors safe. No security guard was there too. Hence be cautious too while visiting.

The National Zoological Park in Delhi offers an incredible wildlife experience for visitors of all ages. I went there with my family and friends. If you have luggage or extra iten ,you can deposit it at clock room near ticket counter. The ticket prices are reasonable, with adults being charged Rs. 80/- per head, children between 5 and 12 years at Rs. 40/- per head, and children below 5 years granted free entry. The zoo operates in two slots, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, allowing visitors to plan their visit conveniently. Tickets are available for online booking. E Cart available at the cost of Rs 70/- for each person, for 5 to 12 year it's 40 only. You can use it for your tour. Visitors are advised to carry their own water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the visit. However, there are ample opportunities to relax and enjoy the surroundings, with several shaded areas and seating arrangements provided with drinking water every where. Ample of parking space available there at the cost of Rs50/- for car and after parking you can enjoy the Purana kila visit it is also just near by the that place.

Delhi zoo park is good place to visit with family, you can spend there 2-3 hours , car parking available at 50 rs and entry ticket for the zoo is available online only. This zoo is well maintained and number animal are few like there is only one lion and 2 Bengal tigers and 3 white tigers that’s the only disappointment I have. Best time to visit in morning slot 8:30 to 12:00 and in the winter season you may go anytime . There are only 2 slots one in the morning 8:30 and other one in afternoon 12:30 to 4:00.

Recently visited the National Zoological Park in Delhi with a friend, and here's my review. Tickets are available online; I recommend buying them online to avoid long lines or purchasing from agents outside, who charge an extra 50-100 Rs per ticket. The original ticket price is 80 Rs per person, which varies by age and nationality. Outside food is not allowed. Inside the zoo, there's a taxi service available for visitors, but they may mislead you by saying the zoo is more than 5km long. I suggest exploring the zoo on foot; even school children can walk around the entire park. Drinking water is available every 800m, and benches with shade are also provided for relaxation. Toilet facilities are available. There's no food canteen, but the zoo is well-planned with many animals like tigers, African and Indian elephants, leopards, monkeys, and hippos. There are also deer and a separate bird area with over 500 different bird species. It's a must-visit place for friends and family at a very reasonable cost, offering maximum adventure. The place is so green that it feels like being in a jungle. Security is widespread, and if you need help, you can ask them. Many people ask about the location of tigers and lions, but the most impressive sight for me was the African elephant due to its enormous size.

The reason I gave it a 3 star because you must visit once. We were able to locate almost all the animals and we loved it. My other reasons for not liking this place is because: 1. The don’t allow outside food (which is acceptable) but least they can offer us is to ensure that children’s get something to eat inside (all of their food stalls were closed) 2. They should allow water bottles (they have only tap water available which may not suit everyone) 3. Limited number of golf carts available 4. They should post banners to get tickets online (there were some agents selling tickets at higher prices)

I went to the Delhi Zoo on Christmas and there was a huge rush as expected. It was a planned family trip with kids. Delhi Zoo is well maintained with variety of birds and animals. My family especially enjoyed coloured makows (Parrots), Owls, Kite, White Tiger, Jaguar etc. Here one can see lots of variety of deer. Somehow I feel that the Zoo should add Giraffe and Zebra as new attractions. Booking an online ticket and carrying light luggage is highly recommended to avoid a huge rush for tickets and the cloak room respectively. A battery car is available and can be explored. Tickets if a car is available offline at venue itself. Have a great visit and enjoy 😊

We visited the zoo to show our 8 month old baby birds. We were not disappointed. We were able to see storks flying. Macaws in cages and many other colourful birds. Our baby enjoyed the day outing and that made our day. To add the cherry on top we were able to see white and Bengal tiger on our way out. There are a variety of deer. It's a huge place and we were not able to see many animals as time was running short. Overall there is scope for improvement. Tickets are to be booked online. Hence even though there was a huge crowd, the entry time was fast.

Moderately good sized zoo with a nice selection of wildlife with emphasis on species indigenous to India. Some exhibits could use an upgrade. Tickets can only be purchased online with an Indian phone number. This is very frustrating for international visitors. No concessions so bring water. (Which is all that is allowed.) Monkeys roaming outside are very entertaining. Very nice staff.

This Park is a Heritage Park, adjacent tot he Humayun's Tomb. It is a huge campus of about 70 acres, of which a part is open to the public. The Park is under the Central Public Works Department of the Government of India which is developing it as an urban park in collaboration with the Aga Khan Foundation and the Archaeological Survey of India. People come here mostly with families for enjoying a lazy day. It is a good place for day long picnic. It is an oasis of natural habitat amidst an otherwise busy city that the NCR Delhi is. Visitors are allowed to bring their own food as well as chairs and tables in their cars, to make themselves comfortable. However, there are trees and trees and well manicured lawns all around for people to simply sit or lie down on the grass and enjoy. Visitors are expected to carry all wastes and refuse when they leave the park. The Park, also known as Sunder Nursery, also has a mobile cafe dispensing hot beverages. Entry cum parking fee is Rs. 40 per head.

Inaugurated in 1959, National Zoological Park is situated near The Old Fort in Delhi and is a favourite weekend spot among adults and children alike. From biggest cats to the tiniest birds, the zoo has all kinds of animals and birds. Initially, it was known as Delhi Zoo when in 1982 it was renamed The National Zoological Park with the idea of making it the model zoo of the country. At the Zoological Park, birds and animals live in an environment that in many ways resemble their natural habitat. The zoo not only provides a home for endangered species but also helps them to breed in captivity. It also holds Conservation Breeding Programmes for Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, Brow Antlered Deer, Swamp Deer, Indian rhinoceros and red jungle fowl. Eventually, they may once again thrive in the wild.

The zoo can be seen on foot or using a battery-operated vehicle which can be rented at the zoo.[4] Visitors are not permitted to bring any food other than drinking water, but there is a canteen in the zoo.[5] In 2014 a visitor who was mentally ill, was killed as he had fallen into the white tigers enclosure, The Delhi zoo came decades later after New Delhi was built. although the idea to have a zoo at the national capital was mooted in 1951, the park was inaugurated in November 1959. In 1952 the Indian Board for Wildlife created a committee to look into creating a zoo for Delhi. The authorities who handle the helpline no. should inform the people calling on it that the museum isn't open even though the lockdown has been lifted. The museum is closed until further notice, please double check before visiting this place. Nearby places to see are India gate, war memorial, children's park and Amar Jawan Jyoti. But even that's closed due to the ongoing preparations for the Republic Day celebrations.

It is a great place for nature and animal lovers. Verity of animals and birds are available in the park. It is spread in a very vast area so prepare yourself to walk a lot before you visit. Food, drinking water, washrooms are adequately available.

Very big zoo, need around 3-4 hours to see it properly. There is no counter, only online tickets. Price for foreigners 400 rs, for Indians 80 r.s only. Giving 4 stars because of price and disturbing people who follow all the time like crazy to make photo/selfie with me and my friend, so we couldn't enjoy time spending there. And i didn't see any security, who could help two handle that situation.

Lovely...... Good to go in amazing weather... Avoid in sunny days...all animals are there.... Don't bring any type of food item or eatables... Not allowed inside ... Laptop... charger... Also not allowed..... Only water bottle you can take inside.....hv fun

Can improve a lot. Tickets are available online only. You might need an Indian credit/debit card for online tickets. Our card was declined on multiple tries. Had to give (tip) extra money to a person Near entrance to buy tickets for us. Very clean overall. Very few animals, you are lucky if you see an animal from most of the places. Can be much better. Good amount of resting points and washrooms provided. Battery operated buggy’s recommended

Nice place to go 1. Zoo is Neat & clear 2. People of all ages can enjoy 3. For booking tickets there is only one option - online , it's easy to book tickets online 4. You can't take any outside food. 5. You will not get any food inside also. 6. You can carry water with you 7. You can buy water, cold drinks, bottled flavoured milk, juice & icecream inside the zoo 8. My suggestion - go early in the morning

Very nice but you need to spend a whole day to roam around,, animals are good and some time we feel sad about them that they are into restrictions.. The park is huge and clean enough to enjoy the day but in sunny day you will require more energy as it's huge.. they're are also provide battery car for transport but no use in case of there is holiday as so crowded.. Ticket is online only.. no option for ticket counter

  • 3/5 Manish O. 1 year ago on Google
Much better than I had expected! I liked that it's reasonably well maintained for the tourists and the animals. Wished it had giraffes, zebras, proper lions and more kinds of bears to be complete. *Tip* The electric taxi must be avoided since we'll be walking mostly anyway. If you have a baby/toddler, get a pram!

  • 5/5 Nitesh A. 1 year ago on Google
Its a great place to have fun with kids. Only online tickets are available, so buy tickets before you leave your place. Outside food is not allowed. Best time to visit is early morning to avoid crowd. it may take 6-7 hours to visit all. I believe, the management should spend more time in maintenance and introducing more animals. Highly recommended place.

  • 5/5 Seema D. 9 months ago on Google
Best zoo for children. Book your tickets online to get easy entry. No food items are allowed there. You can carry your water bottle. E-rickshaw is available there charging 70₹ per adult and 40₹ per child.

  • 4/5 manish t. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing place to spend time with friends and family. Well maintained and lods of birds and animals. Especially loved the white tiger, jaguar, and rhinos. There are electric cars inside (buy tickets from the entrance) and you can hop on hop off any time. There is no food option inside though which is a problem especially with young kids. Gets busier from early afternoon so earlier you reach the better it is.

  • 5/5 Sahej A. 10 months ago on Google
It was an amazing experience in the Delhi zoological park, The ticket booking procedure was child's play, no need to stand in queues, just simple 2 step online booking. The zoo was very well maintained And the thing I liked the most was the use of natural plants and trees, there were no artificial plants or cages. Animals were given a similar place to their natural habitat instead of just a small cage. Props to the maintenance team

The zoo is clean and well maintained. There are battery cars available to carry people inside the zoo at Rs. 70/- per person and Rs 40/- per kids more than 5 years. Can spend time for 3 to 4 hours. Tickets to be booked online. Lots of parking space. Inside only water bottles are allowed. No eatables allowed. Inside also no food available. Be prepared accordingly.

A very beautiful place to interact with nature , where you got almost all animals to watch, where as you can go with family or friends as well as alone no matter but in group you have fun 💗. It is recommended to buy tickets before you visit because there were no offline ticket counter. I hope you enjoyed your trip and have 😊. One more suggestion please do not tease the animals. Thanks Regards-Adarsh Singh The National Zoological Park in Delhi, often referred to as the Delhi Zoo, is a sprawling sanctuary that offers a captivating glimpse into the world of wildlife. Situated in the heart of the city near the historic Purana Qila, this zoo is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. Spread over a vast expanse, the Delhi Zoo houses a diverse collection of animals from around the globe. Visitors can encounter everything from majestic lions and tigers to graceful giraffes and playful monkeys. The zoo's well-maintained enclosures provide a comfortable habitat for the animals, ensuring their well-being and safety. One of the standout features of this zoo is its commitment to conservation and education. It actively participates in breeding programs for endangered species, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity. Educational programs and informative signages help visitors learn about wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting endangered species. The lush greenery, serene lakes, and well-maintained pathways make it an enjoyable place for a leisurely stroll. Families often visit to introduce children to the wonders of the animal kingdom. However, it's important to note that the zoo can get crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. In summary, the National Zoological Park in Delhi offers a delightful opportunity to connect with nature and learn about the world's diverse wildlife. It combines entertainment, education, and conservation, making it a worthwhile destination for animal lovers and those interested in wildlife conservation.

Great place for a day out for all ages. Water and restrooms are readily available after regular intervals. There is decent amount of crowd on weekdays too. However, please eat before coming as food availability is limited. Variety of animals is also pretty encouraging

This is a interesting zoo that I have visited. This feels like largest as you are walking and seeing many different kind of animals and birds. The most beautiful animal to see in this zoo was hippopotamus one-fourth submerged in water and playing with their mates by splashing water on each other, aka other hippopotamus. My personal favorite bird was "Pair eyed cockatoo" . I know it's a mouthful but the bird in itself was beautiful white colour .

  • 5/5 sahil D. 5 months ago on Google
The National Zoological Park in Delhi is like a big zoo in the middle of the city. You can see many different animals there. The zoo takes good care of the animals and tries to help endangered species. They make sure the animals have homes that are similar to their natural habitats. You can walk around and see all the animals, like tigers, lions, birds, and monkeys. Kids really like it, and they can learn about animals and why it's important to protect them. But, it's important to remember to be kind to the animals and make sure they're okay. Some parts of the zoo might need a bit of improvement, though. In short, the National Zoological Park in Delhi is a good place to see animals and have a nice day with your family or friends. It's also a place where they take care of animals and try to protect them.

Good place to visit but here is the most important advice - after entering the zoo, start your journey from right to left only. This way, you will cover up tigers, ostrich and elephants first. We followed from left to right and missed to see tigers and elephants

Nice place to spend time with family and kids. You are not allowed to carry any eatable inside. Inside the zoo, only water is available earlier juices and icecream were available. The zoo is neat and clean, however there is no canteen inside nor do the authorities allow to take any eatable inside. Imagine going with the kids and they stay hungry for 3-4 hrs. And it's a shame that the authorities could not device a plan to create a canteen inside yet not allowing to take anything near the animals.

Great place to spend your weekend, walking or even by electric cart. Amazing nature and wildlife is always exciting. Only downside is you can't carry any eatables ,but do carry a bottle of water as there is no functioning canteen inside. So plan ahead , also book online to save the rush at last minute.
