We did the street food tour and a customized day tour. The street food tour really make us feel like locals and we simply could not have had that experience otherwise. Booking was easy, communication was fast and efficient. Salman was our guide both days and he was excellent. He was on time, knowledgable and a pleasure to visit with. Ask him to sing, he has the voice of an angel!

We had a wonderful time in India with Delhi by Locals. In my opinion, Pradeep and Salman are the best guide you can find in India. Unlike other guides, Pradeep and Salman are passionate about their work. They love their job and they went above and beyond to guide us in the tour. They are extremely Professional. We had New Delhi tour, the Old Delhi Tour and the Slump Tour. All of them we enjoyed. We meet them as a guide and we said goodbye to them as friends. Had a fantastic Old Delhi tour which was super relaxed and a great guide Salman! We went to a Sikh Temple, made Roti, walked through the markets, took a rickshaw ride and never felt rushed! I would recommend Delhi by Locals to everyone and have even booked my Taj Mahal tour with them! Added plus is they wear a Delhi by locals T-shirt so you can easily spot them and they look professional, oh and 50% of the profits go to education programmes and you can even go visit those! Pradeep and Salman took us into a whole different world. They were so knowledgeable and they took us through this world at our pace. The trip was enchanting. The gallis of old Delhi with the beautiful doorways into old havelis, the sudden entries into a world filled with glittering zari and borders,the breathtakingly beautiful lehengas and other wedding fineries the heady scents of the spices were all part of this dream called old delhi. The peaceful beauty of the Fatehpuri masjid and the Sis ganj Gurdwara sahib deserve a special mention. We were awe struck. This was made possible by this wonderful guides. Delhi by Locals helped our family do a 17 day tour, visiting Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Varanasi. It was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. We worked with Pradeep in advance to plan our route so that we could see both the incredible tourist so sights and get a sense for the the more local side of India. He organized a car and driver who was with us for the whole trip (except for Varanasi as we flew there from Jaisalmer) and then set us up with local guides in each town. Each guide was excellent and we were able to see India through their expert eyes. If we hadn’t worked with Delhi by Locals, our time in India would have been much less rich. If you’re considering a tour with them, whether it’s for a day in Delhi or for something bigger, I strongly recommend reaching out to them.

I highly recommend working with Pradeep and the team at Delhi by Locals (DBL) if you are travelling to Delhi (and beyond in India). Delhi was the first stop in our 4 week travels in India Sept/Oct 2022 and DBL gave us the perfect introduction and welcome to India. We started with a pre-trip call with Pradeep, so he was able to customize our experience to our interests, preferences and timing. We found many guides in our trip who could provide excellent information - but fewer who were skilled at listening and adapting; this is something Pradeep and team excelled at. The customized itinerary for my husband and I included- - New Delhi sightseeing (with charming and knowledgeable guide Salman 😊) We covered many “sights” and had a great first day orientation to Delhi - and India. The vibe was being shown around by a friend. - Motorcycle tour - whilst not for the faint of heart, we highly highly recommend. Pradeep and Salman drove, my husband and I were passengers. We felt safe, part of the city, and it gave us a really sense of the city and the poetic chaos and energy. - Old Delhi / Food Tour - combined to work in our schedule Pradeep gave us a real feel for the exciting old city; seeing places we wouldn’t have visited with a larger group or a less personal guide. We were able to taste a wide range of local food (safely, with no tummy issues) but also experience how that food fits into life. - Temples, mosques, places of worship across religions - a highlight being the Gurudwara community kitchen - Real life in Delhi slum - part of the whole picture of India, requiring a sensitive approach. Pradeep also leads Learning by locals which runs educational programs in this area - so taking this tour with DBL is a responsible, respectful way to gain insight More than just providing tours, Pradeep and team truly cared that we had an amazing experience in India - helping with things like getting a SIM card, using Uber to estimate prices for auto rickshaws, navigation and timing tips for catching trains out of Delhi, etc etc. He also helped organize a car in Agra and a tour guide in Varanasi. I like to think of myself as an independent traveller - but it was great to know that there was someone looking out for us to make sure we had the best experience possible. Delhi by locals gets much of its business through word of mouth from satisfied customers - but I learned about them through reviews and searches. I could not have been happier and strongly recommend working with Delhi by Locals to anyone!

Our guide Salman was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. It's incomparable that he's from there and so he can share the history and traditions of his centuries-old neighborhood with special pride. Anybody can go look at a shrine--but we got the pleasure of learning what the Qawwali singer was singing about; how and why the Saint is praised with flowers and vows; and where to eat the best food. Salman's English is of course excellent. Highly recommended.

I just got back from a trip to India with my fiancé and our tour with Delhi by Locals stands out as the highlight of our trip. It was my first time in India so having someone who knows the city and culture so well was invaluable. Pradeep was so knowledgeable and made us feel safe while still allowing us to immerse ourselves in the culture. As we walked through Old Delhi Pradeep was greeted warmly and introduced us to many of the locals. Pradeep is not only a great tour guide, but also an amazing person. I messaged Delhi By Locals after reading a great review on someone’s blog. After taking the tour, I would highly recommend that you also book it. They were very responsive and even started WhatsApp messaging me to answer all of my questions. Pradeep was communicative and informative before and during the tour. He was able to tailor the tour to us by meeting in a different area and adding certain things (like a stop in air conditioning during a hot July evening). This was one of the best tours we have been on and It was totally worth the cost. We had a total of three adults and one toddler with us and Pradeep and Salman were our tour guides. We did so many things that we never would have discovered on our own and it was great to be able to trust them about eating street food throughout Old Delhi. We also took many different modes of transportation and learned lots of tidbits about Delhi and India in general. I was grateful to have two tour guides to shepherd us around Old Delhi and really explore the area. They provided us with all of the photos and listed all of the foods we tried. The tour was also really smooth logistically. You could tell that they enjoyed their job. We have done many tours in the past, and I think this one stands out as one of our best. We were a group of 8, with 2 of us being Indians and the rest of us being non-Indians. Our friends had come down for our wedding in India and we had decided to travel across Delhi with our friends and Pradeep became our most resourceful contact! Very efficient and experienced Pradeep conducted the food tour and helped with our subsequent trip to Agra with great presence of mind and got us a traveller to and fro which turned out to be very helpful for us. Pradeep is a Fulbright Scholar and currently dedicates his time and efforts non-profit work with India's slums. We are honoured and so happy to know him and had a great time and would recommend the same to anyone!

We had a wonderful day trying street food in Old Delhi. Very good variety of food, very tasty, and safe to eat. You discover dishes that you don’t find in restaurants. We wish we had done this earlier in our trip in India! And also with the brunch tour you get to see the city during the day, for example the spice market and a nice rooftop view. Our guide Pradeep was very helpful, friendly, and happy to spend extra time with us. He also sent us the list of food we tried, which makes it even more memorable. Highly recommend this experience and Delhi by locals! And thanks again, this is one of our best memories of India.

We had a wonderful Old Delhi tour. My 4yo and 9yo enjoyed every minute. I appreciated that it went at our own pace and was super fun and informative at the same time.

I had an excellent experience with Pradeep. He met me somewhat last minute, helped me with some logistics, then showed me what Old Delhi has to offer. What a wonderful experience with Pradeep, going round several local and some very famous/popular eateries in the Old Delhi area, tasting all the various flavours on offer, from savoury to sweet and embracing the hustle and bustle of the bazaar.
