A wonderful place to have a meal at. The north Indian food is absolutely authentic and soul satisfying. Located in Connaught place, it is not a very big show-off restaurant, but decent enough to spend good time with family and friends. Very well trained & courteous staff, fairly priced, pleasing interiors. Food preparations - 7/5 Food presentation - 5/5 Ambience - 5/5 PS - They claim to be inventors of Butter Chicken and Dal Makhni. Both dishes taste fantastic, no doubt.

Great place to have some authentic non veg. Simply loved it. Seating might be bit issue, you might need to wait. Loved the chicken pakora and butter chicken. Service is prompt. Best part food is good in taste and not that spicy, you won’t feel bulky after eating. Overall a great experience, they have valet parking too.

We had lunch here today. Tried their famous half Butter chicken with 5 bone piece dipped in coarse tomato gravy which was medium spicy with plain basmati rice which comes with onion and mint chutney, rasmalai for sweets. I didn't think food was value for money. Quantity should be more. Service was very prompt.

Went here with my family for lunch. The place is well maintained with old music playing in the background. We had Fruit Chaat and Chicken Tikka in Starters and totally loved it. In main course Dal makhani is a must try. My ultimate favourite was their Kulfi. Totally loved it. It's not a very big place but good ambiance to spend time with your friends and family. The service was amazing specially Davendera who treated us really good and explained everything in detail.

We got dinner @ Daryaganj during the Wave 3 pandemic when restaurants were running on 50% capacity and curfew starts @ 10pm Note: they’ve valet parking, so don’t worry about parking a block away and walking Decor is pretty nice ⭐️ Food (we kept it all vegetarian) - Bharwan Paneer Tikka : cheese filled spiced paneer, what a great idea! It can be very filling as an appetizer, tastes amazing - Original Dal Makhani : Very flavorful, though a little thick to my liking. - Original Butter Paneer : Delicious as well!! Must try - Breads - Roomali Roti and Hari Mirchi Parantha (parantha went very well with the main course) - Desserts : phirni and baileys kulfi - Kulfi was exceptionally delicious, must try! Overall good service, rich and flavorful Indian food, would visit again! ⭐️

Restaurant that claim to be inventor of Original Dal makhani and Original butter chicken. The ambience is cool and give the classic look. Sitting arena is not so big, so one may have to wait for sometime. Food Amazing it was, started with veg platter and all the veg starter were brilliant. They gave 8 pieces in it, so plan accordingly. In main course tried their Original dal makhani and Original panner with tandoori and khasta roti. Everything was one above the another and super delicious. Dessert Not to miss their Kulfi. The traditional Kesar badam kulfi and pan flavour are one of the best and super selling one. They even have a kulfi with liquor so choose wisely. Overall was happy with the service and the food. A place in my list to visit again.

Superb North Indian food. Infact one of the best. Everything pure. Not adulterated. Gravy based on tomato. Not cream and butter. Superb taste and ambience. Portions small and expensive.

I did not have a great experience here. Service and food, both were not great as hyped. Waiter's behaviour was very bad, had to ask for one thing many times. Food was not that great also. Music was very loud, and the air conditioner was very high, felt really cold and even on insisting to reduce the temperature, the staff didn't do it at all.

Some restaurants are iconic for a reason. They deserve it, the serve it and that’s we love it. Reading about their story on the menu to having delicious butter chicken they take you along with them on their journey. Really nice experience. Though you have a waiting time on weekends but totally worth it.

We went here for Lunch today. The table which server designated to us was very close to main entrance of the restaurant. It was really very difficult to focus on realishing the food due to annoying seating location. Food was good but not value for money and the hype it has been created for being one of the old inventor and creator of butter chicken is just average. We tried there rasmalai which was also not value for money and was just average.Quantity which was served was also very less. Overall experience of food was average. Service was excellent. Ambience was good excluding.

It was just okay okay experience there. Food was fine, I have tried better dal makhani. Butter chicken was good and the quantity is enough for 2 people. Butter Naan and thandai were very good. Service was very slow but they charge a big amount as service charges and wait time to get a table is around 1 hour at lunch time.

There are far better options available that serve delicious butter chicken in Delhi and they won't burn a hole through your wallet as well. Absolutely Over-rated and they call themselves the "Inventors of Butter Chicken". If this is called invention it's great that others who make better butter chicken didn't learn from Daryaganj's recipe.

So went to this Dariyaganj at CP after ages... Went through a waiting of 1 hr but it was worth it...got late for lunch and was really hungry. Dal makhani stole my heart with rumali roti and khasta patatha. Butter paneer was ok. Long waiting so try to be there on time. Even dinner is long wait so be there before time.

Ordered The Original 1947 Butter Chicken, The Original 1947 Dal Makhani and Mutton Dum Biryani from Daryaganj Restaurant. One of the best versions of Butter Chicken I have ever had. Dal Makhani was thick, creamy and flavorful. Their Mutton Biryani was sheer love; mutton was tender and juicy.

We had an awesome experience in the CP outlet of Daryaganj as well. We ordered Dahi kabab, the original 1947 dal makhani, the original butter paneer, garlic naan, missi roti and steamed rice. Each and every item was super delicious specially dahi kabab and dal makhani. They truly put in lot of effort in preparing these items and it shows in the taste. The overall ambience is also great and service is top notch as well. Would highly recommend this place for authentic north indian cuisine.

Taste and Quality Good, My personal suggestion as per my own taste buds is to have Today's Butter chicken over the old one. Also try phrini in desert you'll love it ❀️! Nice place to give it a try πŸ‘

Liked the ambiance and the service. I took my family here for dinner and everyone enjoyed the food a lot. We ordered butter chicken, dal makhni, malai kofta, brain curry, dahi ke kebab, fruit platter and tomato shorba. Daryaganj claims that they have invented butter chicken & dal makhni and I honestly haven’t tried better dal makhni and even their butter chicken was one of a kind.

It’s a nice thing that you are promoting yourself as inventor of butter chicken. Please open your eyes and taste buds, there are many restaurants which have better butter chicken in Delhi NCR. Sorry I was never a fan of Moti Mahal in Daryaganj. The experience was very average and food is not at all value for money. Chef needs some basic hospitality training. Totally not recommended

Came for the delicious and famous butter chicken! It was delicious. Their other specialty was the black lentils, also delicious! Everything we had was great. Service is friendly and efficient and food came quickly. Many locals (business people) were having meals, showing the authenticity and lack of a tourist oriented place! The bathroom cleanliness could improve significantly (hence the 4 stars!)

This is an excellent restaurant. I visited each night I was in Delhi based on my opening meal. Exquisite food, beautiful setting and wonderful staff. The manager Rajender was particularly amicable and professional. While all of the dishes I ate were exceptional, the 1947 butter chicken is a must try. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Delhi. I wish this restaurant was back home, as I would be a regular diner there.

I went there in the evening for an early lunch. The palce has a nice vibe for a big family friends dinner. As authentic the name is the food is great too. We tried Mutton Burrah, Chicken Tikka trio in starters. Both of them were really good in taste. For main course we tried Mutton Curry and Dal Makhani along with Red Mirch Parantha.. I just fell in love with both of them because of the taste. Must tryy... For dessert do try their Gulab Jamun and Kulfi.. Definitely gonna visit again.

Extremely overhyped place. I ordered the original dal makhni, the original butter chicken, dahi k kebab, tandoori mushroom and virgin mojito. I waited for my turn for almost 2 hours and had to eat average tasting food. I only liked Virgin mojito. Rest all is overhyped. Don't waste your money and time here.

I am a big time dal makhni fan and I feel that their dal makhni is so underrated. Dahi ke kabab were also very flavourful and so tender. Their butter chicken is not regular butter chicken but definitely tastes too good to handle. The service was spot on, really enjoyed my time here. .

It's nice. I guess the publicity in the Delhi times has resulted in the rush. Long queue. Wait is almost 45 min to an hour. Service is slow which adds to the wait. The original recipes are nice. I loved the stories printed in the menu. For me that was a highlight.

  • 2/5 Aanchal M. 2 years ago on Google
Ordered Original Butter chicken, Original Butter Paneer, Chicken Tikka, Malai Kofta and Phirni. Decent portion size. Impressive spill proof packaging. The food was flavoursome. Chicken tikka had 6 big bonless pieces. Had an intersting after taste. Malai Kofta had 2 huge koftas with fillings and almond shavings in gravy. But the food was extremly greasy. Oil was floating from all the dishes except chiken tikka and Chutney πŸ€ͺ This food has definitely sent me on a guilt trip and perhaps on a trip to cardiologist too 🀐 No wonder Indian food is Synonyms to heavy and oily. And almost no resturant makes an effort to change that. Dish that stood out was Phirni. Had delicate after taste of Kesar and Kewra.

This restaurant truly lives up to its legacy of having the original paneer butter masala and dal makahani. Please do try Original dal makahani and garlic naan it is one the best that you will find anywhere in India. Paneer butter masala is also very good but dal makahani is just too good. Even my vegetarian friends loved the dal makahani more than the chicken. Must visit

Would rate it average. Why so? I was looking for classic old delhi butter chicken . The ambience of restaurant was very nice but the taste of butter chicken was just average. Chicken I felt was not that juicy to get a 5 star rating. Rest serving was good

Daryaganj restaurant, one of the best restaurant in Connaught place at Central Delhi. Though the restaurant is not so big but good ambiance to spend time with family & friends. Starter tandoori chicken is amazing, being a inventors of Butter chicken as they claimed , really wonderful. It was my first experience with restaurant and service was great. Definitely i will visit again. The service of Kundan Rawat was great and he is very helpful. Overall experience was very good but priced little bit high.
