Afsarwala Tomb or 'Officer's Tomb' is situated on the south-western end of the Humayun Tomb Complex. Afsarwala which means 'Officer' was a nobleman in the Courts of Emperor Akbar. The grave is dressed with marble and probably dated to 1566 AD or 1567 AD. The Afsarwala Mosque might also date back to the 16th Century as per its architecture and positioning that lies adjacent to the Afsarwala Tomb symbolising that it was probably constructed as a Funerary Mosque. This Mosque was built in the shape of a square structure that stands on a flat base raised above ground level. It depicts three broad arches on its main facade that gives it the name of 'Trimukhi' Masjid. These arches are made of rubble overlaid with plasterwork. Its interiors are ornate with stuccowork that reveals incised emblems mostly painted. It is surmounted by one dome covered in red paint that stands on an octagonal shaped drum.

Afsarwala Tomb is a historical monument in Delhi, India, and it is part of the Humayun's Tomb complex. The tomb is believed to be the final resting place of an official or nobleman during the Mughal era. The Afsarwala Tomb is an architecturally significant structure with intricate design and carvings. It reflects the Mughal architectural style and is an integral part of the historical and cultural heritage of Delhi. While it may not be as well-known as some other nearby monuments, it offers a unique perspective on the art and architecture of the Mughal period.

Situated in the southwest corner of the Humayun's Tomb Complex, the Afsarwala Mosque and Tomb was built for noblemen working in the court of Emperor Akbar. Much detail about people buried in the tomb is not available though, except the dates written on graves.

This tomb is situated in the Humayun's tomb complex and is very less visited by the tourists . Talking about the history of this place according to an explanation by the Archeological survey of India  the name "Afsarwala tomb" could derive from the Persian word afsar , which itself derives from the English word officer, making the building an "officer-wala's tomb", a grave for a military commander. A more recent theory points to the Persian tribal name Afsar, noting that several Afsars were employed at the early Mughal court, including one name bearer, who helped Humayun during his return and recapture of India in 1555.

Standing southwest end of the complex, lies the Afsarwala tomb, dedicated to an unknown person. One of the marble graves inside the tomb is dated 1566-67 CE. The mosque itself can be dated to the same period judging from its siting, standing as it does adjacent to the tomb, rather than away from it.

Saw this tomb and mosque while in the Humayun Tomb complex back in December. The individuals in the tomb are unknown as the name Afsarwala only refers to a military officer. Both the tomb and the mosque are built on the raised platform and both are in good enough condition that it’s worth visiting when inside the tomb complex. The mausoleum grave chamber contains the three cenotaphs and also some intricately carved calligraphic inscriptions.

This place is beautiful all tombs and masques are very beautiful About this tomb Barber's Tomb Late 16th Century Folklore refers to the building as 'Barber's Tomb'. The red sandstone facade, tiled canopies, minarets, and sandstone screens give the tomb its striking character. The tomb has within it the ornamental cenotaphs of one male and one female. The water channels around the tomb were added between 1905 and 1909.

Humayun's tomb (Hindustani or Urdu: Maqbara-i Humayun) is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum (also known as Haji Begum),in 1558, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad,[8] Persian architects chosen by her.[9][10] It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent,[11] and is located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, India, close to the Dina-panah Citadel, also known as Purana Qila (Old Fort), that Humayun found in 1533. It was also the first structure to use red sandstone at such a scale.[12][13] The tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993,[11] and since then has undergone extensive restoration work, which is complete.[14] Besides the main tomb enclosure of Humayun, several smaller monuments dot the pathway leading up to it, from the main entrance in the West, including one that even pre-dates the main tomb itself, by twenty years; it is the tomb complex of Isa Khan Niyazi, an Afghan noble in Sher Shah Suri's court of the Suri dynasty, who fought against the Mughals, constructed in 1547 CE.

Must visit once, it has been renovated after Covid and the parks are well maintained and add to the beauty of the mughal architecture. Book tickets online from website of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) for easy check in process as the line to the physical ticket counter is long and waiting time could be as long as 20-30 minutes depending on the day and time. There are 3 major buildings and the time taken to cover all the area would be about 40-60 minutes. There are plenty of spots to snap a pic and it is a family friendly place.

The TOMB is on a raised platform about 91 metres to the southwest of the west gate of Humayun's Tomb. The date of construction of this mosque is not known, although archaeological evidence places it between 1560 and 1567. The building is of local quartzite with red sandstone dressing. It consists of a single, rather dilapidated, prayer-chamber divided into three bays, the central bay roofed by a dome carried on squinches. The inside of the central dome contains a painted circular panel. The central bay opens through a four-centred arch and is larger and higher than the flanking bays, which are also entered through four centred arches. The design conforms essentially to the 'triple iwan' of Persia. The outer angles of the parapet are furnished with pinnacles, and the shouldered dome rises from a circular drum. S.A.A.Naqvi writing in 1947 mentions unidentified graves in the courtyard of the mosque, but these must have been done away with and are no longer to be seen. On the same platform as the Afsarwala Mosque is an unidentified tomb that is locally known as Afsarwala Tomb. On one of the marble graves are inscribed quotations from the Quran and the number 974, which probably refers to the date in the Hijra era corresponding to AD 1566-67. The tomb dates to 1566-67 or a few years earlier. Afsarwala Tomb is built with local grey quartzite with main lines of red sandstone and marble inlay. It consists of a single compartment, cruciform in plan internally, which is covered with a double dome. Externally the tomb is octagonal on plan: the sides of the octagon contain deeply recessed arches with square-headed doorways opening into the tomb-chamber in the four cardinal directions. The spandrels of the arches are decorated with round bosses of red sandstone. The outer dome rises from a high octagonal drum and is crowned by an inverted lotus finial-base bearing a red sandstone finial.
