Shahjahan's daughter, Roshanara Begum, laid out this garden in the 1650s or so, when Shahjahanabad was established. At her death in 1671, the central pavilion here became her tomb: her grave, a simple one covered only with earth, can still be seen in the centre of it. The pavilion has some pretty painted decoration still to be seen. Gate #2, to the right of the pavilion, has some remains of beautiful tilework on the outside. The gardens otherwise are a mix of well-maintained (lawns, flowerbeds, etc) and relatively wild. If you go towards the back, there are trees where lots of Indian flying foxes (aka great Indian fruit bats) can be seen roosting through the day. The wilder parts of the garden have lots of monkeys, so arm yourself with a stick if you venture here.

Located in a very congested part of Delhi, Roshanara Bagh is more than four centuries old and continues to provide the residents living nearby fresh air and beautiful vistas. The Baradari located within the heart of the park contains the tomb of Roshanara Begum, she was sister to Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. There are no entry fees to the park or the Baradari and there is limited parking available in some of the by lanes surrounding the park.

The park despite bieng labelled plastic free is full of trash. Could be maintained in a better way with the public also acting more responsible. The gem is the pleasure palace and tomb of roshanara begum. Ine of the lesser known monuments of delhi with a rich history.

A nice green patch of area located near Shakti Nagar which has a historical significance. They Roshanara garden is related to the Mughal dynasty. Leaving aside the history here, the Roshanara Park has a quite large space for playing sports, children area, running track, wash room and a monument. A great place to start you day and breath in some fresh area while replenishing your mind with green landspace.

One of the historical places in delhi located near kamla nagar. On the entrance you will find a yard of garbage and the monument was not maintained at all. Sad to see this.

Quite good place ....maintenance of monument was very good ... there was park too fully lushed green .... . While entering ... the gate area was dirty ... not clean .... People used to put food of sharad ...over there ... or pind dan food ... which i think is not ryt .. beacuse it comes between the route .... Outside the park in the right there was a fruits n vegetable market...

A little offside from Pratap Nagar Metro Station. It's a quaint little monument. The entry is very unkept and has a lot of garbage disposal. Also looked like a part of the plot has been used for performing post funeral rituals. It is next to the Roshanara Park which is famous amongst cricket players, there are players in the monument too.

It's good park about walking, playing, roaming, jogging and many more activities going on. *Greenary*-👇👇 Greenery in our living environment benefits more than just our health and well-being. It also facilitates water management and promotes biodiversity in built-up areas, and can help reduce the effects of noise pollution. Greenery also helps to raise the property value of homes and offices. There are all ages group people are came for enjoyment. Park👇 Public parks are very necessary in cities. They serve as the lungs of the city body. People refresh themselves there in the morning, at noon and in the evening. Population is so congested in the lanes and streets of the colonies in the city that people hardly find a place to relax. All sorts of people, children, young and old go there for a walk, recreation as well as relaxation. Yoga classes in the parks are a scene in the mornings. People take exercises there. In the evening, parks are full of shouts and laughter of the children. People go to the park for picnics and recreation. Parks add beauty and greenery to the city. I cannot think of my life in Delhi without public parks. In crowded city, parks are the only place where people of all age can sit and relax and breathe fresh air. It is in the parks that one can feel close to the nature. Thanks for reading... 👍👍👍

Nice place to walk or for long walking tracks. One can enjoy nature here, but make sure vehicles you park here make sure it's on the safe place as many bikes or two wheelers have stolen cases reported here.

Roshanara Ground is quite majestic and deserved for its name. It is best place to get your kid enrolled in many sporting activities, with Cricket as a major sport. You can also play Tennis, Table Tennis and Basketball. The ambience is also quite ostentatious. They also do have spacious parking lot. A must visit place for all sprinting enthusiasts.

Place is beautiful but as the pollution is high in Delhi ,it's park is covered with dust. The tomb is looking good but filled with smokes as it's a adda for smokers and you will feel gross. Gardens are good here along with exercising tools . You will find parrots and sparrow too.

For me personally, this place gets five stars. It's close by, it's big, and it has historical significance. Aurangzeb's sister Roshanara has been buried here and her tomb is the most unassuming tomb of a historically significant figure I have ever seen. In the mornings you will find a lot of people working out or walking their pets. There's an open gym near Clock tower gate. There are areas of shade and sunlight through the park and it has a wilder appearance compared to your ordinary parks. Architecture of the Baradari is subtle and beautiful. Located near the heavily populated area of Kamla nagar, this park is truly a blessing. A must visit for nature lovers, history buffs or architecture enthusiasts. And definitely for people who like poetry.

All good inside. Very difficult if you are not having your own conveyance specially at night. For coming to main road and get a cab you have to pass through a long stretch of secluded road. Cabs and autos are not available during night even through Uber and Ola.

This park is a good place to relapse and while away some quality time with friends and family. I went here with a group of friends. We had a picnic and had a jolly time together. The people are weirdly friendly and there's a reason for me to say this. I won't spoil it any further. You should really go check it out yourself.🙌🏻

Local park best suited for casual walks. Pavements aren't cemented properly and the grass cover could be improved if people decide not to stomp over new grass. The monument/building inside isn't well maintained either.

Lovely place to visit very old and popular it's places sin e the time of britishers.. Neaby is Roshanara club too which is too very old and popular... Here in this ground itself India first official cricket test match is played...

  • 5/5 Anubhav K. 2 years ago on Google
This club feels like royalty, which is partly based on the fact that it was built by the British, and it's quite a legacy for either cricket or parties. The open air setup is a great way for enjoying a few drinks, and the ballrooms are ample enough for 70+ guests at a time. Food was also decent.

Roshanara Garden is a beautiful park in Delhi, India that is perfect for picnicking, jogging or simply taking a stroll. It has well-manicured lawns, colourful flowers and trees and many hidden spots to relax and unwind. The garden is surrounded by a historical monument that adds to its charm. The pond in the middle of the garden is a popular spot for bird watching and is also home to a variety of fish. Visitors can also enjoy a range of activities including boat rides, kite flying and pony rides. Overall, Roshanara Garden is a peaceful oasis in the bustling city of Delhi that is well worth a visit.

Very good Park. Absolute touch of Nature, but recent developments are ruining its natural environment & are hazardous to creatures living there. Authorities are creating concrete construction & occupying the place in name of development. Positive thing is they are restoring the natural lake there. I accept that such development will increase eye-loving beauty, but only at cost of ruining nature & animals living there. Very much worry about it.

It is one of the biggest gardens in Delhi having a great variety of plants, some imported from Japan. The lake inside the gardens is visited by migratory birds during winters and is a popular site for bird watching. The garden has a raised canal with flowering plants on both sides. Today the garden holds a white marble pavilion built in memory of the princess Roshanara, who died in 1671 and was buried there. This monument is now in depletion state

Found the place average. They have a very limited menu - 5-6 items in main course. Even with limited options, the food taste is average and nothing great. The outdoor seating is plastic chair, so not comfortable. The service is very slow and poor. The staff responds after requesting 5 times. I believe they can seriously work on improving the service quality.
