The Jantar Mantar (literally the 'instrument and formula' and often called the Jantar Mantar), is located in the modern city of New Delhi, Delhi. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1724 onwards, and is one of five built by him, as he was given by Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah the task of revising the calendar and astronomical tables. There is plaque fixed on one of the structures in the Jantar Mantar observatory in New Delhi that was placed there in 1910 mistakenly dating the construction of the complex to the year 1710. Later research, though, suggests 1724 as the actual year of construction.

Samrat Yantra located inside of Jantar Mantar Jalebi Chowk Gangori Bazar Jaipur Rajasthan. The Samrat Yantra sometimes Called Supreme Instrument is an equitorial sundial of enormous proportion.. This yantra is measures time to a precision that had never before been achieved.

The Samrat Yantra or the `King of Instruments' is the largest and most imposing of the Yantra's at Delhi observatory. It is 20.73mtr high 38.10mtr from east to west and 34.6mrt from nort to south. Quadrangular pit: presently about 3.30mtr deep, 38.10mtr from east to west and 36.5mrr from north to south. It is used to measure the apparent solar time and local time. It was also used to measure the declination of sun. This is largest sun light clock built by maharaja Swai Jai Singh.

These are not just buildings but oldest system to see or measure time of the Day. Similar instruments are at other places like Jaipur, Ujjain, Mathura, Varanasi etc constructed under rule of Jai Prakash. Enjoy your time and relax in gardens. No public facilities and restrooms.

Jantar Mantar is located in the modern city of New Delhi. ā€œJantar Mantarā€ literally means ā€œinstruments for measuring the harmony of the heavensā€. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The site is one of five built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1723 onwards, revising the calendar and astronomical tables. Jai Singh, born in 1688 into a royal Rajput family that ruled the regional kingdom, was born into an era of education that maintained a keen interest in astronomy. There is a plaque fixed on one of the structures in the Jantar Mantar observatory in New Delhi that was placed there in 1910 mistakenly dating the construction of the complex to the year 1710. Later research, though, suggests 1724 as the actual year of construction. Its height is 723 feet (220 m).

I'm so glad to see such a wonderful museum. The best part of that place is that the building or structures that are places in museum are seen normally but as u go as closer to the structure you see the wonderful beauty and the amazing scenario.
