founded
in
1917-18.
The
Chelmsford
Club
was
raised
on
27th
July,
1928
on
a
Lease
Deed
signed
between
the
Secretary
of
State
for
India
and
Chelmsford
Club
Limited.
This
Lease
Deed
was
signed
by
Mr.
P.
Mukherjee,
the
then
Joint
Honorary
Secretary,
Chelmsford
Club
Ltd
and
Mr.
JNE
Johnson.
C.I.E,
I.C.S.,
Chief
Commissioner
of
Delhi
by
the
Order
and
Directions
of
the
Governor
General
of
India
in
Council
outing
in
the
premises
for
and
on
behalf
of
the
Secretary
of
State
of
India.
The
Club
earlier
used
to
shuttle
between
Delhi
and
Shimla
along
with
the
work
of
Govt.
of
India.
From
the
time
of
its
joining
to-date
the
Club
has
moved
from
strength
to
strength.
The
Club
was
raised
with

purpose
of
affording
its
Members
all
the
usual
facilities.
