Very good place for picnics with your family and to bring your kids. Several schools bring students on educational tours here. This is located amidst the peace and greenery of chanakyapuri. The museum is a vast sparse. Several models of steam engines and the bogies of that age are here to be seen. Some reminds you of the scene of Sholay movie. For food there is a small tuck shop which has only patties, sandwiches, tea and coffee and some soft drinks. For good meal there is just one restaurant which charges on a little higher side. You can bring your own home cooked food to eat on the grass as well. Picnic time yay!! There are two train rides as well, one for adults and other for kids. Must take at least one of them preferably the big joy ride. Tickets have to be purchased for entry as well as rides. Charges are double on weekends. See the attached screenshots for info.

I went to rail museum on Tuesday at 12:17 pm.it was a long journey from my home but it was worth it. Normal ticket fare fir an adult is 50 rupees. Parking charges are rs 10 per hour. The place is quite large and also has a joy train ride which will take you to a trip around the whole place. It also has a guide map right in front of the main entrance. You can look at it for an overview of the whole place. The place has plenty of trees and amazing models of trains. The garden has original train engines of the history. The auditorium is air conditioned and also has free wifi. There you can find miniature models of some historical trains. There is also a miniature model of India at first floor. There are also some general knowledge games which you can play free of cost. It is also a good place to bring young kids so that they can learn about the history of trains.overall, it was a great experience.you should go check it out atleast once. Thanks for reading.

If you like trains and their history this place is a must visit. The outdoor area features models of all the trains that have travelled through time. The museum is informative and well maintained. Take a ride in the toy train to do a round of the area. It's a good place to hang out with kids too.

🫀 This review is difficult to write.. because while the museum is indeed very well set up and would undoubtedly be an enjoyable experience for art and relic lovers, I did not find it interesting at all as I didn’t expect the National Museum to be just another art museum. In the capital of the country,...
