The National Gallery was amazing. It was so well curated, very informative, and not expensive at all. I actually think they should charge tourists more. The PRESSURE exhibit and Kapo wing were both very impressive.

The history is so rich and diverse in this museum. Lots of various artistic styles. A decent collection of commissioned pieces. I loved every moment wandering through this gallery.

Visited the National Gallery after two years of being MIA because of COVID. The gallery holds a special place for me and as a patron I was proud to see the selection of young and recurring artists. From sculpture & installation, to painting to photography & film and mixed media to textiles, the Pressure, exhibition forces us to think. I am however particularly perturbed by the gallery’s position to only allow invited guests for this instalment of the Biennial. Although I am proud of the young artists being represented, I don’t think this 2022 exhibition was that intersectional… especially in terms of who is being seen on the walls.

A very pleasant Saturday afternoon visit. Great staff in the form of Damian & the admission/gift shop team. Inexpensive, with allowances and discounts for senior citizens and students. There's a lot of art to see from downstairs to upstairs so wear comfortable footwear & follow the simple rules - you can take pictures, but not with the flash on and don't touch the pieces.

Great gallery, well set out with many interesting exhibits. Only a couple of pounds to visit so well, well worth it. After, pop into the ROK hotels for a bite to eat. Highly recommended.

Take your entire family here. Lovely place bearing a vast collection of historic Jamaican paintings and sculptures. The pieces are properly placed and the gallery is very clean. Most of the pieces are displayed upstairs though so for persons who are not able to walk, that will be a challenge, but otherwise, every art lover must visit this place.

An exquisite exhibition of authentic Jamaican 🇯🇲 art 🖼 They have different exhibitions, for various times of the year. The ambiance is great and the gallery is very spacious. Students and senior citizens with ID enter free otherwise, there’s a $400 JMD entry fee. They have art pieces at an affordable cost as well as handmade jewelry.

I live art and art galleries. Never a bad experience for me. Very friendly staff, reasonably priced and it was quite interesting and relaxing. Totally enjoyed that.

An absolutely fantastic way to spend an afternoon! Spent around 3 hours and was unable to complete all the exhibitions. A wide selection of Jamaican art! Will definitely be going back soon. The QR codes are helpful in providing information on the pieces, just wish they were on all the pieces.

The gallery was an awesome experience. I went back in history with the Taino, Spanish & British displays. The current Reggae Month art exhibition from around the world was very impressive. The different styles and representations of reggae made me feel very proud to be citizen by birth of Jamaica.

If you wanna see talent, creativity or just experience really good art, this is the place. There is normally an exhibit in rotation downstairs and the general exhibit on the second floor. The rotating exhibition never disappoints, I was able to see “Pressure” and it was WOW. The details, the intricacies and of course the talent! Very good work!

As the largest art gallery in the Anglophone Caribbean, the National Gallery doesn't disappoint. It boasts 4 permanent galleries and usually an additional temporary exhibit showcasing the talent and richness of the Jamaican art scene from 1000AD to present. Admission is JA$400, except on their 'Last Sundays' special programming held on the last Sunday of every month which is free. Paid parking is available adjacent to the gallery. Definitely worth several visits!

I loved it here, such a beautiful place with all those incredible artwork of the talented local artist. It is so worth spending a day in the gallery full of so much history and culture. Loved it.

This was my second visit and it was as good as the first. Another great experience I am recommending to everyone as much is depicted through the various pieces of work on display at any given time. There are pieces for everyone to appreciate.

Electic and facinating collection of art by talented Jamaicans. Regular exhibitions of newer work but extremely disappointing that there are only a scant/ few pieces in the historical collection.

I had a great time. Its a nice date option or girls day out. Inside was clean and cool and features a wide variety of art. They also have a gift shop and you have to option to book a tour at an additional cost.

It's currently being renovated as such, you don't have as much access & due to Covid19 Protocols, you no longer get guided tours, besides all that, the exhibits are great to look at

It was pretty good. It's deceptively larger than it looks when you first walk in. I think there's an opportunity to install art outside and around the building that makes it more of a destination and opportunity to take pictures. A permanent exhibit on the history of Jamaican art, including the original peoples would be interesting as well.

It's worth a visit with some interesting exhibits but the gallery falls short with poor text/interpretation that supports the work on show. I recommend they spend more time on developing information for visitors about the works and artists. Improve text labels and give the walls some tlc to show of the best of Jamaican art. The historical gallery is in need of a signficant re-think it presents 'colonial Jamaica' and especially the period under slavery with absolutely no interpretation or context about it's legacy. I would of thought it would be the leading centre of slavery history and material culture on the island. There is so much information about almost all the works in the historical gallery which would create a fascinating exhibition and help people to learn, debate and reflect on Jamaica's past.

Very spacious venue to view and display your artwork. I had visited here for a art show hosted by the JCDC and it was great. A gift store is located there as well, if you want souvenirs to take abroad or home.

A lot of things not there anymore, I took my daughter there and she was so eager to get out. I just went there because it's peaceful in there. And they charge like $400 JMD to look at what?

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Gift shop stock was low/limited, and staff went above and beyond to find what they we wanted. Ashamed the cafe wasn't open. Wide range of artist in a well constructed environment, ashamed the website was not comprehensive prior to visiting.

Went to the NGJ end-of-month programme which was a performance by Nexus. Great music, good voices... great discussion of artwork by Jamaican artists. Extremely worthwhile

A somewhat sized art gallery with a focus on Jamaican artists. Spent over an hour touring their permanent exhibit on the upper floor, unfortunately their temporary exhibit was under renovation while we were there. The price to enter was fair and they have a small gift shop and café.

There is always something new and inspiring to see at the National Gallery.

After not visiting since 2013. I was pleased to return and see the excellent professional staff, quality service and standards are being maintained.

The National Gallery is a must visit if you want to dig beneath the surface to uncover Jamaica's art, roots, history and culture. The exhibits are always phenomenal and I never leave without learning or experiencing something new.

It's a very interesting place to visit. Every Jamaican should at least see this place once, just to see the creations of various Jamaican artists. My only wish is that they should include more works from the rastafarian community as well as recent works from young up and coming artists. But aside from that, this place is great. The entire building is air conditioned and some parts of the floor are carpeted. Also there are seats provided to take a break. It costs only JMD$400 for adults to enter
