This was wonderful, very informative and nostalgic tour. Learnt a lot from our tour guide. Note you are not allowed to take pictures or videos on the inside of the house. I would recommend doing this tour on your visit and if you need a guide call me up. The Bob Marley Museum tour cost US$25.

An absolute must if you are in Kingston. Our guide "Irie Sue" was absolutely fantastic. She is full of joy and so enthusiastic about Bob Marley and the history of the family and music. She sang along to us and made the visit awesome beyond belief.

Absolutely worth the trip to from Montego Bay to this museum. We rented a car from the airport for a day to make the drive out here which took about 2.5 hrs each way. $20 toll each way too, so FYI. But it was magical being there and learned so much about the legend Bob Marley. Plus, our tour guide was very comical, knowledgeable, and a great story teller. He even sang some tunes and had everyone participate throughout the tour as well. Again, you won't regret this museum if you are a true music fan, Marley fan, and appreciate finding the beauty in all the small things in life that inspire iconic musical legends.

Visit to the museum is not a visit or a tour. It’s a religious experience. You feel his spirit every step of the way and as welcoming he was in his life he is still the same. You hear the wind blow the tunes of one love through the windows. Thanks for hosting me at your abode for which I am very thankful.

When I first heard Bob Marley I was 17 years old. My boyfriend at the time placed a record on his record player, the album Uprising, and I immediately fell in love with the rhythm of Reggae and Robert Nesta Marley. His lyrics spoke to my heart, my mind, my soul. He infused his music with spirituality, love, humanitarianism, politics, freedom, the essence of life. I've listened to every album, I can sing every song from at least 8 of them. He is apart of my person as music becomes part of you. His legacy lives on in millions of people. I dreamt of coming here, that young 17 year old girl, a place where he wrote, sang, fell in love, built life long friendships, where he gave back to the community, played football, his roots. I honestly wasn't sure it was written in the stars for me but today I stood in this place where his energy and vibration still lives and thrives. I am so grateful I am who I am, that I live this life, and I have had the opportunity to be here and now, and influenced by greatness. 🇯🇲💕 "My richness is life forever" Robert Nesta Marley

Place is pretty impressive. The tour guide was very informative, calm, throws a couple of tunes so most definitely money well spent to see how the legend lived. Recording is not allowed inside the house so you have to go in and hear and see for yourself

Had a great time. Our tour guide Oneika was lively and had good vibes. She even took a few pics of me outside by the murals. The pace of the tour is good too. You don't feel rushed or like you're being stalled. 10/10 would recommend.

The tour was the best tour I've experienced. We had Captain Crazy as our guide, and he was hilarious... everything he said had everyone laughing and then him laughing at his own jokes. The church ceremony was the weirdest thing ever, and I struggled to hold my laugh in. Make sure to stock up in the hut at the entrance 👍

It was such an educational and sureal experience being in the place the legend created some of the most iconic music of all time. Our tour guide Stanley was very knowledgeable. I loved every moment, and the closing movie was like a behind the music documentary. I highly recommend you visit when visiting Jamaica. ❤️

Very informative guides. There are so many items that are original to Bob Marley's house, it's a pretty amazing feeling knowing that you're walking in the home and studio of the Legend. The guided tours are hourly, so plan accordingly. If you are a Bob Marley fan and ever in Kingston, Jamaica I would highly recommend that you add this to your list of stops.

I absolutely loved the Bob Marley Museum learned so much about him it's sad that he died he's an icon he should be alive his music lives on. Tour guide was really good, very informative. We got to see his recording studio, inside his house where he lived where he slept were he had an attempt on his life. Where he wrote his music in his backyard. Very informative and at the end we got to see a movie that sums up his family and his life. I loved it everyone should go to the Bob Marley Museum

Lovely comedic and knowledge hosts. Affordable prices in addition to lovely philodendron plants, and koi fish pond. I enjoyed the theatre; and visiting Bob Marley’s home (sacred space). Learning about his legacy through music, his humanitarian efforts to share the messages in his timeless reggae rhythmic euphoria…of unity, peace, and liberation truly filled my heart with joy. His influence can be seen in my artwork and personal style, as well as my crown. Give thanks for the education we received.

The grounds are beautiful, the team does an amazing job of taking care of the property. The tour guides are really good with the details of the life of Bob Marley. It’s beautiful and heart breaking, one thing for sure is his legacy will live on. You have to check out the cafe the blended ice coffee will have you coming back.

Iriesue is easily the best guide I have ever encountered on a tour like this. She is full of genuine energy and extremely knowledgeable. She was able to keep our group focused for the whole hour and some change and shared interesting details of Marley’s life I personally didn’t know. Her shouts were hilarious! Kudos to her for an amazing job. Place is so nice. It has the best vibe! Well kept and well worth the entrance fee. The blended cold coffee at the One Love Cafe is a must try. 100% recommend!

We had a great visit to the museum with a guide who was so enthusiastic and encouraged us to sing along with him. Wonderful to see Bob Marley's home and place where he composed and recorded his music. Our trip also included a visit to Trench Time so also saw where the man had lived as a boy. Don't understand the museums lack of typical souvenirs such as magnets and key chains. No space in my hone for larger items!!

It was pretty cool. The guide was warm, welcoming and hilarious. You can't take any pictures inside but if you're a big fan, you'll really enjoy it. I wish there was more to the tour that you could interact with. For example, even a replica room (that's not copyrighted) with a statue of Bob you can stand next to and take pictures with would be cool. Maybe even having some sample ital food to allow you an example of how he ate. It would also be cool to have a small recording booth you could take a couple seconds and record yourself singing one of his hits. I know there's not a lot of space on the property but maybe they could figure out a way. I think it would make it much more memorable.

This place is mostly for tourists who like Museums and Arts. There isn't much to see or much to know about Bob Marly that's not already general knowledge of the Reggae Icon. You can enter the grounds freely but to go inside the Museum, there’s a charge and you are accompanied by a tour guide. There are refreshments on sale at the front. The property is well kept and the overall look in appeasing. Big up to the security staffs, they ensure your visit is safe and your property report back to if lost/found. If you like Bob’s Music and want to learn about his growth from cradle to grave then this is a living encyclopedia of the Legend. Happy Visit¡

Wow!! Don’t miss this!! The museum was way better than I expected. This isn’t just a museum with facts. This is Bob Marley home and recording studio. It’s also where he was shot and killed. You can even see the bullet holes in the wall still. I loved talking with Bongo Herman and listening to him play and tell stories about playing with Bob. Sang with the tour guide; loved everything about the tour.

I have wanted to visit here for a very long time. Great tour guide, so knowledgeable. She sang some of his songs, and we all joined in. I have to confess that when I entered the home I became emotional. I couldn't believe I was standing in his home. You cannot take pics inside, but that was ok. You need to be focused on all the information the tour guide is imparting. I took lots of pictures outside and in the shop Marley Natural. There is a smoking room in there which can be used at an extra cost. You van purchase weed pre rolled, but it's not cheap. A fantastic experience well worth the visit.

I drove from Montego Bay to Bob Marley Museum long story short There's a significant connection between Ethiopia and Jamaica, and someone dear to me often speaks passionately about it. Taking a leap of faith, I visited, only to find it closed. Nevertheless, I captured some beautiful pictures from the outside, and it looks stunning. 😍

They start off with a Bob Marley song where everyone sings and then they take you around the house. They show you the bullet marks where he was attacked. Overall i loved the experience. (Translated by Google) I was delighted with the site. For someone passionate about reggae and especially Bob Marley, getting to this place is the best, being in the house that has housed it since the age of 13 (which today was converted into a museum), getting in touch with their belongings, having been able to observe their awards and the walls covered with newspapers of the time, observing on the wall the bullet records from when he suffered the attack ... It was very emotional for me! Know and see everything that I have been reading for years! For a fan it is the maximum, to know historical facts that he did not know until now ... I LOVE IT (Original) Quede encantada con el sitio.

What can else be said of the artist that has the greatest song of the last thousand years and album of the last 100 years. The tour gives you a succinct look at one of the greatest artists in human history by taking you through his home as well as his career. While it is a big house it is not a grand estate which would have been counter to what Bob was about as you'll learn.

So the Museum states they do not have a webpage, although I found a pretty official looking one that said the fees were $25. It is $30 at the door. All kinds of BS. I expect they were taking it off the top for “rewarding” our hired driver for taking us there. We did not like our shady driver, do NOT fall for visit to the marijuana farm for $10 a person. It is not part of this tour!! We felt disrespected!! They have weed (and tea) at the museum. We visited with a group of family and friends and enjoyed the experience immensely. Learned more about THE Bob Marley from the locals, heard the meanings behind many of his songs and toured his beginnings … it was not only a learning moment, but a spiritual adventure. There are steps and a hill climb for those who have mobility issues. There are multiple tourist “traps” during the tour that just comes with the tourist industry. Be prepared to tip and make purchases. Update- my daughter opened her shot glass and the bartender did an old switcharoo and gave people an ugly shot glass and not the ones they actually took the shot out of… shady and greatly unappreciated. I downgraded the stars due to this. Love Bob, not that.

Good experience although you do have to walk up stairs. I didn't see wheel chair accessibility. Nice movie at the end. Photos are not allowed in the museum. You may only take photos outside in the baack courtyard. There are murals you can stand in front of to shoot photos. Also, the tours are scheduled. You can buy at the window but you have to wait for the next tour.

Beautiful lush and chilled oasis at busy Hope Road so you can just enjoy the gardens and mango trees as you are waiting for your tour to start. Every 30-60min they take you on a musical journey trough the house and history of Bob Marley. Sadly it is kind of in a rush and as you are not allowed to take pictures inside you can't even have a closer look at the numerous exhibits later on your camera. So especially if you are really an enthusiast the museum might be both fascinating and frustrating for you.

“ I recently revisited the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, and I was pleased to see some positive changes since my last visit. Firstly, they have lowered the ticket price, making it even more accessible to visitors. Additionally, they have made some valuable additions, such as a small outdoor cafe and beverage bar, providing a convenient spot to relax and refresh after the tour. One notable enhancement is the inclusion of a well-produced film that serves as the grand finale of the house tour. This addition provides a captivating and informative experience, further immersing visitors in Bob Marley's world. It's unfortunate that photography is still not allowed inside Bob's house, but the film compensates for this restriction. However, I must note that the merchandise in the gift shop left me somewhat disappointed. Many items appeared to be of poor quality, with a noticeable lack of craftsmanship. The abundance of T-shirts and overpriced plastic items took away from the overall experience. I hope they consider sourcing higher-quality products to match the significance and legacy of Bob Marley. For those interested, there is an opportunity to visit the working Marley Family music studio, which requires separate tickets purchased at the box office adjacent to the cafe. This is an excellent addition for music enthusiasts looking to delve deeper into the Marley family's creative process. All in all, I'm glad I returned for a second visit as the Bob Marley Museum has made noteworthy improvements to enhance the overall experience. It remains a perfect way to spend a few hours when exploring Kingston and celebrating the legacy of the legendary Bob Marley."

This visit is “mandatory” if you visit Kingston. Reserve three hours for the tour here. The museum is the house where the idol lived in his hometown and the rooms keep part of his interesting story. Pay attention to the opening hours and enjoy the tour. The ticket costs 25 USD but worth each penny.

A must if you can. It is very informative and a great experience. The only down side is that sometimes there are just too many tours going on and so the guides want to rush you through the rooms. There's a lot to see and read in some rooms and so this can take away from the experience.

What can I say, this was the home of the legendary Bob Marley. Fascinating and informative tour and guide. Highly recommended place to visit while you are in Jamaica. One love!

Very nice experience. Very informative guide. One thing to pick was that our guide repeatedly asked to get tipped. Made us feel uncomfortable and obligated to leave gratuity.

The original home of Bob Marley during is life, now transformed into a Museum. This home has a recording studio and showcase several of his musical works and displays his Grammys. This informative tour is 1 1/2 hour long and includes the short film on the life of this Great Jamaican music Legend.

Very inspirational tour. It’s so untouched where you see everything from his bedroom to his kitchen to the studio and to tragic room where he got shot. The tour guides are super friendly and full of details. You even get to meet his friend that still lives there up to this day. There is also a cafe to get drinks and snacks. Great tour!

This is a must when you visit Kingston. From the murals outside to the seasoning session with the legendary Bongo Herman you know that you are in for a treat. Shane our guide did an excellent job of showing us Bob Marley, I've always loved Bob but after my tour I loved him more. His humility, care and genuine love for people and God is inspiring.

This is a must-visit on anyone trip to to Kingston, or I would even go as far as state to Jamaica. From the moment you step on the property it resonate Mr. Marley. You can almost feel his Spirit Roaming with you! A huge bonus is the fact that mango is in season and there's quite a few trees on the property and no one stopped you from partaking of whatever you can get your hands on. I especially like the oversized fish habitat in the back of the property. The herb garden need some TLC but I'm sure it's on somebody's to do list. Overall I loved my time. HUGS

Very nice, but the tour is too long. Don't go if you're in a rush. The history is amazing though. If you love Bob Marley and Rita Marley, this is definitely the best place to go to learn more about them. I didn't like that I couldn't take pictures inside the building. Even one in a designated spot would have been nice.

Such a great place to visit to understand the history of Jamaica. If you go here don't forget to hit port Royal. It is packed with history even though there is only a few colonial buildings still standing.

Visited The Bob Morley Museum In Kingston, Jamaica, and it was a tremendous experience. Listening to the tour guide stories about the life of the great Bob Marley, looking at the artifacts collected from his lifetime make me felt like I journeyed with him.

  • 5/5 Tahj S. 1 year ago on Google
This was my very first time visiting the Bob Marley Museum after driving pass it for so many years of my life. It was an incredible experience to witness first-hand not just the legend of Bob Marley, but to be in the same space as he once was. There are tons of photographs and cool art pieces to view as well, and the tour guide kept it interesting and informative all the way. They have recently opened the Marley House Dispensary which is very aesthetically pleasing and their smoke room so far is the best one I have been in locally, so for all herb enthusiasts check it out. The membership fee at the dispensary is $750 and their prices per gram range from $1,000 to $1,800 per gram. They have paraphernalia as well but they are rather expensive. There's a cafe as well for you to get some good food and of course lovely Bob Marley music all throughout. Highly recommended.

Legendary !! Very nice and impressive, @11:00 it was too crowded. Better come earlier as the house is kind of narrow, so with 20 people you feel not confy. Don't miss the ganja shop 😎Absolutely reccomended

  • 5/5 Sade C. 5 months ago on Google
This was an informative tour which happens approximately every hour. The guide was very interactive with amazing vocals, encouraging us to sing along on this musical journey. I learnt so much about his life even though I do not consider myself to be a fan. It’s a tour that should not be missed as you’ll get a glimpse into his life and philosophy. The meals and drinks from the cafe were delicious. The cornmeal porridge was sweet, creamy and tasty. I couldn’t believe that it contained no dairy. The chef shared his recipe and I’ll be making it at home. The Get Up Stand Up drink was a meal in itself. I could not consume anything for t least an hour after drinking it.

Brother Bob liveth in all of us. The house he lived in was magical and made all the better by the fantastic guides they have there. Truly indescribable. Authentic.

Fantastic experience seeing where Marley lived, worked and nearly died. If you're on a cruise I can highly recommend this as an excursion. The Tour Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and get you into the "Yeah Man" Marley mood singing his songs. You aren't allowed to take photos or film inside the house itself, but I thought this enhanced the whole experience and made it more respectful! Big shout out to our Guide Oneika, she has a beautiful voice and kept us entertained throughout the Tour.
